Adam Piron (Kiowa and Mohawk Tribes), the Director of Sundance Institute's Indigenous Program
Season 2 · Episode 25
mardi 18 octobre 2022 • Duration 01:07:47
In this episode we sit with Adam Piron, the new Sundance Kid who is the Director of Sundance Institute's Indigenous Program. We chat films, what's happening with Sundance, and all kinds of cool stuff.
This interview was recorded before Sacheen Littlefeather had walked on, and so it may be old news what we discussed, but we left it in since we do want to remember what she did.
Rest in Power.
The music is:
"Demetrius" by Kat Lock from her EP, "You Again"
Thanks a lot for listening.

Kimberly Guerrero & Karissa Valencia discuss "Spirit Rangers" for this Indigenous Peoples' Day special!
Season 2 · Episode 24
lundi 10 octobre 2022 • Duration 01:23:19
Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day! It's a good day to be Indigenous!
In this special Indigenous Peoples' Day episode, we sit and chat with Kimberly Guerrero & Karissa Valencia from "Spirit Rangers". Kimberly plays the Mom and Karissa is the creator and showrunner of the series. And we have a good time talking about "Spirit Rangers", animation and the love of kids shows.
Don't forget to watch "Spirit Rangers" on Netflix, which should be dropped by now. Then you can leave it on repeat for the kiddos, because all children need a good Indigenous babysitter -- and "Spirit Rangers" is one of the best.
The music is:
"Hard to Find" by Kat Lock from the "You Again" EP
Thanks for listening. Then, go out and have fun, ruin a Columbus Day Celebration and just celebrate us, because every day is a good day to be Indigenous.
Thanks for listening.

Reservation Dogs, Season 2: Episodes 5. "Wide Net" and 6. "Decolonativization"
Season 2 · Episode 23
mardi 4 octobre 2022 • Duration 01:10:24
All right all you young elders out there. In this episodes, we talk about episodes 5 and 6 of "Reservation Dogs" Season 2 -- two of our favorite episodes. It brings back memories of those conferences we attended (but no one admits to how many lanyards and badges they've acquired). We also talk about how when Amber Midthunder's not out kicking space monster ass, she's inspiring Native youth with the power of NARDS.
Also, maybe why we love these episodes more than the others is that we got Warren Queton in not one but both these episodes.
FYI, the audio is a bit more wonky than normal, so please forgive us.
The music you're enjoying in this episode is:
"Biggest Mistake" by Kat Lock from her "You Again" EP.
Now get out there and reclaim and decolonize.
And remember, don't just keep it real...
Keep it REEL INDIGENOUS!
Reservation Dogs, season 2: "Roofing" and "Mabel"
Season 2 · Episode 22
mardi 27 septembre 2022 • Duration 56:03
This time we're talking about episodes 3 and 4 of season two of reservations dogs. We give praise to the creators and storytellers who really know how to tell a good yarn and just chat it up about how good it is. We also confuse Eddie and Michael Spears, so our apologies to these fine actors. Also, Director Danis Goulet is Metis. We apologize for the confusion.
Jason makes a cameo appearance to give us a synopsis run down until he has to leave for a better class of people. But, rest assured, he will be back.
The music for this episode is:
"I'd Rather Go Blind" by Kat Lock, from the album: "You Again"
Thanks for listening.
Remember, don't just be real, be REEL INDIGENOUS!

PREY 2: Electric boogaloo (with a little "MOHAWK" talk on the side)
Season 2 · Episode 21
mardi 20 septembre 2022 • Duration 01:15:20
No, they did not already make a sequel to "PREY", but we made a sequel to our "PREY" discussion. Jason & Sunrise, our resident Numunu, hop on to give us some deep cuts on the Comanche happenings in "PREY". Plus, Sunrise gives us some insight on what he did on the movie.
Then, Angela brings up a little gem of a movie called, 'MOHAWK" and asks the question, is "PREY" just a ripoff of "MOHAWK"? The quick answer: No. But it is a discussion that happened.
Anyways, sit back, relax, get some of that Predator Indian Taco and give us a listen.
Music is:
"Art" by Kat Lock. From her album, "You Again"
Enjoy and thanks for listening.

Reservation Dogs Season 2, Episodes 1-2 (with a little "Jaws", "E.T." And food talk thrown in)
Season 2 · Episode 20
mardi 13 septembre 2022 • Duration 53:18
In this episode, we get back to our roots and talk about "Reservation Dogs" season 2, episodes 1 & 2. We also go off topic and chat a bit about the problems with the Sonics regime change, how much we love taco mayo and Braums. No one mentions Mazzio’s but we also love Mazzio’s. We also talk about the "Jaws" and "E.T." re-release, and ask the immortal question: how does pan and scan work for IMAX films?
"Reservation Dogs" may not have jumped the shark, but we just may have.
Thank you very much for listening. Please rate and review.
And remember, don't just keep it real, keep it--
