RBVOY 042 – Voyager Season 2 Wrap Up (S2E27)12 Jan 202500:46:11
Rebinging Star Trek Voyager: Season 2 Wrap Up

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Star Trek Voyager Season 2 Wrap Up. In this final episode of season 2, we wave goodbye to a generally mediocre season of Star Trek. We bring back the Louise Fletcher awards for acting, of course! And we cover the highs and lows of the season.

Voyager Season 2 Wrap Up

In this episode of the podcast, we discuss all things season 2 and we even throw in a little info about season 1. We discuss the best and worst episodes and even compare our ratings to our Deep Space Nine ratings! While we have found this season to be a bit mediocre, there are some gems and some great performances that we praise.

Rebinging Star Trek Voyager: Basics, Part I

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Star Trek Voyager S2E26: Basics, Part I. In this episode Seska is back and one of her wild plans finally works. Repeat characters Seska (Martha Hackett), Culluh (Anthony De Longis) and Lon Suder (Brad Dourif) are back to close out season 2. There is also a brief return of Chakotay's dad Kolopak (Henry Darrow).

Basics, Part I

Seska finally gets her wish and for some reason the Voyager crew is absolutely shocked. Despite numerous warnings we find ourselves completely unprepared for Seska's lies and devious behavior. She manages to lure Voyager into Kazon space where they are pecked to death by Kazon ducks. Lon Suder briefly reappears to try and convince Janeway that he's doing better and can contribute to the ship - however, this does not go well.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E11: Waltz. In this episode, Dukat is back (unfortunately) and we are going to spend some time looking into the confusing, deluded corners of his mind. Marc Alaimo puts in a strong performance in this guest appearance.

Waltz

Dukat is on his way to stand trial when the transport ship is attacked, stranding him and Sisko together on a dark , deserted planet. An injured Sisko tries to figure out exactly what Dukat is up to, but Dukat is not exactly acting rationally. Meanwhile the crew of the Defiant searches desperately to find their missing captain.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E10: The Magnificent Ferengi. In this episode Quark puts together a band of Ferengi to try and get his mother back from the Dominion. This episode is filled with guest stars including Iggy Pop as a Vorta and Hamilton Camp as Leck and returning favorites Josh Pais (Cousin Gaila) and Jeffrey Combs (Brunt).

The Magnificent Ferengi

Quark joins together with some unlikely help to rescue his mother from the clutches of the Dominion (and Iggy). With the backing of a big reward from the Nagus, Quark, Rom, Nog, Cousin Gaila, Brunt and a new Ferengi named Leck formulate a plan. But as expected, the plan is terrible as none of them are capable of keeping their cool. At the last minute a prisoner exchange is negotiated but even that goes awry in the hands of the Ferengi.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Statistical Probabilities

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E9: Statistical Probabilities. In this episode we bring some other augments to the station in hopes that Julian can connect with them. Tim Ransom (Jack), Hilary Shepard (Lauren) Michael Keenan (Patrick) and Faith Salie (Sarina) guest star.

Statistical Probabilities

Julian makes some new "friends" when a Starfleet doctor brings 4 other augments to the station. At first we do make some connections especially when the visitors begin to uncover some of the secrets held by Weyoun and Gul Damar in peace negotiations. But the positives are quickly eclipsed by some misplaced ambitions when the augments take the negotiations into their own hands.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Resurrection

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E8: Resurrection. In this episode, we have a blast from the past (or more precisely from the alternate universe) when Bareil (Philip Anglim) returns. And because he's from the mirrorverse, he is up to no good.

Resurrection

Bareil is back, but this isn't the Bareil we all know and love (?), this is Mirror Bareil who is definitely up to something. And just for fun, he's brought Mirror Kira with him. Mirror Kira does not disappoint as she is still in her clubbing outfit and tiara and she is EXACTLY what we expect. With Bareil and Clubbing Kira involved, you already know Major Kira is in for some pain.

STPR 019 – Supernova Part II (S1E20)01 Jan 202300:59:03
RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E19 Supernova Part II

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 20: Supernova, Part II. In a season finale full of tears and sacrifices, we bring the story to a satisfying conclusion. There is no other way out but for someone (and something) to be sacrificed to avoid the annihilation of Starfleet. Look out for a couple of Easter Eggs in this episode including a slightly hidden Ender-prizian as well as a cameo by Dr. Erin Macdonald.

Supernova, Part II

The crew has finally gained some control of the Protostar and realizes that something drastic needs to happen in order to deal with the living construct. In true Star Trek fashion we have our hearts broken but then immediately filled with hope for the future.

Today's lesson: always buy the bigger USB stick.

RBDS9 136 – You are Cordially Invited (S6E7)26 Dec 202200:55:09
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: You are Cordially Invited

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E7: You are Cordially Invited. In this episode, we lighten up a little bit after the end of the dramatic 3-episode arc in the previous episode where we have reclaimed the station. Now it's time for a wedding - but because it's Worf, nothing is quite as simple as it should be. Turns out Martok (JG Hertzler) has a wife (Shannon Cochran) and she has some strong opinions on letting a Trill into her family.

You are Cordially Invited

The happy couple decides to move the wedding up so Worf's son can attend. This OF COURSE means some Klingon rituals must take place and that leads to some truly unpleasant tasks for the groomsmen and some drama for Dax. While Worf insists on have everything exactly right, Jadzia struggles with Martok's prickly wife. Never fear though, there is a ceremony and it is quite memorable! (And btw, we release this on our own wedding anniversary which just seems so appropriate.)

STPR 018 – Supernova Part I (S1E19)26 Dec 202200:49:07
RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E19 Supernova Part I

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 19: Supernova, Part I. In this episode, the Vindicator is done hiding. Not only is she happy to reveal her true self but she unleashes the living construct on Starfleet and things are looking dark. Jameela Jamil as the Vindicator really shines in this one!

Supernova, Part I

The real Janeway is in the brig and the Protostar crew is in deep trouble. There is no more messing around as the Vindicator takes control of the Protostar and puts the plan into motion. There is a heavy price to pay in this episode - not only by Starfleet, but also by Gwyn. This is a serious, action-packed episode that preps us for the season finale. Will Starfleet survive? Yeah, we think it probably will...but HOW?

Today's lesson: having no chill can destroy Starfleet.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Sacrifice of Angels

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E6: Sacrifice of Angels. In this episode, Sisko and the Federation fleet try to break through the Dominion barrier and re-take Deep Space Nine but some angels must be sacrificed as the drama of this episode unfolds. We wrap up a big story arc with a slew of guest stars in Marc Alaimo (Dukat), Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun), Casey Biggs (Damar), Melanie Smith (Ziyal), Andrew Robinson (Garak) and Salome Jens (evil changeling).

Sacrifice of Angels

In Sacrifice of Angels, everything appears bleak as the Federation fleet faces a much stronger enemy while trying not to give up hope. Even when Sisko and the Defiant break through enemy lines, hope of success is nearly gone. Meanwhile, Kira and her cohorts have been jailed to thwart any rebellion, leaving some unlikely heroes to emerge. The Federation's only chance now hinges on Quark and Odo! Will Quark find a way to help his friends rather than hide behind the bar? Will Odo finally pull his head out of the Great Link (literally) and take action?

Rebinging Star Trek Voyager: Death Wish

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Star Trek Voyager S2E18: Death Wish. In this episode we welcome the Q continuum and John de Lancie to the Voyager universe! When the crew bumps into a different Q (played by Gerrit Graham), the Q we know (and love?) arrives to cause trouble.

Death Wish

The crew accidentally frees an imprisoned member of the Q continuum which puts them in the middle of a philosophical battle between very powerful alien beings.

RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E18 Mindwalk

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 18: Mindwalk. In this episode, Dal and Vice Admiral Janeway have a Freaky Friday experience. You are not prepared for the finger guns or the reference to Threshold, the most infamous of all Voyager episodes. This is must-see television.

Mindwalk

When Zero and Dal try to reach out to Janeway telepathically, something very strange happens and Janeway and Dal switch bodies. While Janeway is finally hearing the story of the Protostar and the living construct, Dal is making a spectacle out of himself on the Dauntless. The Diviner has a surprising moment of enlightenment in this episode as the Protostar hurtles toward Federation space.

Today's lesson: bad shoes ruin everything.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Favor the Bold

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E5: Favor the Bold. In this episode, we head back to the station to take out the (Cardassian and Dominion) trash! Meanwhile, Odo is still under the spell of the evil changeling (Salome Jens).

Favor the Bold

In Favor the Bold, Sisko is done sitting around waiting for something to happen. So he's reading Bajoran prophecies and preparing to take his station back. Odo is still spending way too much time with that crazy cult leader (also known as the female changeling). Kira is not amused as she's doing everything she can to try and save Rom from being executed.

RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E17 Ghost in the Machine

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 17: Ghost in the Machine. In this episode the holodeck goes a bit wonky (as tends to happen). Stay tuned to the end of the episode where we make a few predictions of how the season will end and what might be next for Holo Janeway.

Ghost in the Machine

The crew gets stuck in the holodeck where numerous programs start merging together. As if it's not bad enough that they're trapped, they also make the horrible discovery that they have a saboteur on board. This is bad news!

Today's lesson: don't give out your ssn over the phone (even if you think Holo Janeway is the one asking).

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Behind the Lines

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E4: Behind the Lines. In this episode, Major Kira and crew hatch a plan to stop the Cardassians from taking down the mine field. Unfortunately, Odo isn't completely focused as he's hanging out with the evil changeling (Salome Jens).

Behind the Lines

This week the female changeling turns up and manages to turn Odo's head with a drug called The Great Link. Meanwhile, Sisko turns over the Defiant to Dax when he accepts a promotion. Nobody seems particularly happy in this episode, except maybe Damar...and that is never good.

STPR 015 – Preludes (S1E16)03 Dec 202200:42:18
RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E16 Preludes

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 16: Preludes. In this episode we learn a bit more about our main characters and Janeway is rudely introduced to a naked Drednok and the Diviner.

Preludes

This week the crew is working on fixing the Protostar while safely tucked into the Neutral Zone. We get some flashbacks to fill in some of the gaps in the history of Zero, Rok and Jankom Pog. Meanwhile back on the Dauntless, Janeway walks in on a secret meeting between Drednok, the Diviner and the Vindicator (previously known as Ensign Tahani).

We had a few people ask just who the heck is Ensign Tahani and it's just Kim borrowing the name of a previous character portrayed by Jameela Jamil. But now with a name like THE VINDICATOR, we might actually start calling her by her real name on the show. Don't count on it, though.

RBDS9 132 – Sons and Daughters (S6E3)27 Nov 202200:49:40
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Sons and Daughters

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E3: Sons and Daughters. Some of our favorite repeating characters are back as well as some of our not so favorite...you can determine which is which. Plus we get a new version of Worf's son Alexander now played by Marc Worden. So we get a little parental drama on the station with Ziyal and Dukat and a little Klingon parental drama with Worf and Alexander.

Sons and Daughters

In this episode, Martok's ship gets some new reinforcements. And everyone (especially Worf) is surprised to see Alexander Rozhenko as one of the new recruits. Worf is forced to face the truth about his failings as a father. Back on the station, Ziyal and Dukat are patching up their relationship as Dukat pretends to be a good father while constantly irritating Major Kira.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 15: Masquerade. In this episode we are in for some very big reveals. Brace yourself as the crew visits a shady star port in the Neutral Zone and we are going to see behind a few masks. (Why are they listening to Okona?)

Masquerade

This week the crew stops off at The Noble Isle star port to try and obtain spare parts for their damaged ship. While there, they visit a shady geneticist named Dr. Jago who has some important info to reveal about Dal's origins. Meanwhile, the Romulans are sneaking onto the Protostar to try and take possession of Starfleet's ship! But that's not the end of the surprises in this episode!

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Rocks and Shoals

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E2: Rocks and Shoals! In the aftermath of a dangerous mission, Sisko and crew are stranded on a planet where they are not alone. This week's guest stars include Christopher Shea as Keevan and Phil Morris as Remata'Klan.

Rocks and Shoals

After last week's successful mission, the crew crashes their Jem'Hadar ship on a supposedly deserted planet! But you know it's not deserted! There's some crazy Jem'Hadar also stranded there - and no planet is big enough for both Starfleet and the Dominion. Meanwhile back at the station, Major Kira is having a crisis of conscience and is starting to feel like a traitor to her own people. Lots of drama!

RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E14 Crossroads

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 14: Crossroads. In this episode the Protostar crew accidentally bumps into the real Vice Admiral Janeway and that leads to a lot of action.

Crossroads

This week the crew actually makes a pretty decent plan, but it goes horribly wrong when Barnis Frex (remember him?) turns up in an unexpected place. Dal nearly gets the important message to Vice Admiral Janeway before everything falls apart and they end up being chased by the Dauntless. It's an exciting action-packed episode with a big cliff hanger!

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: A Time to Stand

WE ARE BACK! Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Deep Space Nine S6E1: A Time to Stand! The Dominion war is not going well and in this episode the DS9 crew gets a dangerous new assignment. Back on the station Major Kira is gritting her teeth every day as she puts up with Dukat and the Cardassians. This episode is full of the usual guest stars like Marc Alaimo (Dukat), Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun), Casey Biggs (Damar) and our favorite JG Hertzler (Martok). Even Brock Peters as Grandpa Joe makes a brief appearance!

A Time to Stand

Starfleet finally has a plan that makes sense - we send Sisko and crew to destroy a big ketracel-white storage facility using the previously acquired Jem'Hadar ship (see The Ship). While this is a good plan, it is also a very dangerous one! Back on the station, Major Kira has to deal with pretending to be ok with the occupying force on her station. While she tries to put on a smiling face, Dukat is busy being threatening and generally disgusting. This is an intense opening to a season!

From RebingeIt: Star Trek Prodigy S2E9: Brink and Touch of Grey

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 17 and 18: Brink and Touch of Grey. We send the Prodigy crew down to Solum to try and gather some info about Asencia and her new technology. Naturally things don't go as planned.

Brink and Touch of Grey

On Solum, Gwyn leads the Prodigy crew on an undercover mission to rescue Illthuran and learn about Asencia. Good news, we meet the young (non-evil) Asencia, but bad news both Illthuran and Wesley are being held captive. Gwyn decides to split the team and rescue both, but that turns out to be a bad idea.

Today's lesson: when you're told to stick together, stick together!

STPR 012 – All the World’s a Stage (S1E13)13 Nov 202200:43:33
RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E13 All the World's a Stage

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 13: All the World's a Stage. In this episode the Protostar answers a distress call which lands them on a planet full of people who have incorporated Starfleet into their lives...only it's not exactly right. The colors are wrong, the uniforms are badly stitched together and everything is a bit primitive.

All the World's a Stage

This week the crew finds a small colony of quirky green-faced aliens who have spent over 100 years passing down the stories of a Starfleet Ensign who crash landed on their planet. Everything is just slightly off as they talk about StarFlight, JamesT, Sprok and Huur'A and they can't quite get the Vulcan greeting down. They seem friendly enough but somehow they've gotten their hands on a Starfleet phaser and communicator. This seems like a prime directive conundrum!

RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E12 Let Sleeping Borg Lie

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 12: Let Sleeping Borg Lie. In this episode, our crew bumps into one of the scariest alien enemies in Trek history! Yep, time to deal with those crazy leather-clad drones flying around in a square space ship! Look out kids, it's the Borg (no, they are not Swedish)!

Let Sleeping Borg Lie

This week we bump into a dormant Borg ship and rather than do the sensible thing and run away, we decide to pay it a visit! BAD DECISION! Not only do we nearly all get assimilated, but we also nearly hand over our newly discovered weapon the living construct! Hopefully if nothing else, we have learned an important lesson: ALWAYS LISTEN TO JANEWAY.

RebingeIt Brings You: Star Trek Prodigy S1E11 Asylum

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 11: Asylum. Season 1 continues in this action-packed episode where the crew seeks asylum on a remote Starfleet Comm Station manned by a single officer. You know this isn't going to be as easy as our crew hopes.

Asylum

In this week's episode, the Protostar approaches a deep space communication relay station named CR-721. The lone crew person Lt Jr Grade Barniss Frex is very friendly until he scans the Protostar and the Diviner's secret weapon kicks into overdrive. Now the crew must scramble just to survive as the station begins to tear itself apart.

No Caitian to save in this episode, but plenty of Janeway (real and holo) and even a little nod to the Voyager theme song for the geeks (like us).

RBDS9 127 – In the Cards (S5E25)09 Oct 202200:52:23
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: In the Cards

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 25 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: In the Cards where we mix a light-hearted story (Jake and Nog) with one of gloom and doom (Kai Winn's fear of the Dominion). It's always great to have the the character of Kai Winn back in an episode but it comes on the heels of the announcement of Louise Fletcher's death at the age of 88. While we lose another great member of the Star Trek family, her contributions to the franchise will live on forever.

In the Cards

Sisko (and everyone else) are depressed and weary from the Dominion war. Jake and Nog decide to try and cheer up Sisko by obtaining a very rare baseball card. While they are working on that plan, they get inadvertently tangled in the precarious relationship between Bajor and the Dominion.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Empok Nor

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 24 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Empok Nor. In this episode we visit an abandoned version of our station and end up in the middle of a horror movie. The good news is, Garak is in this episode to bring some of his usual wit and craziness. The bad news is a lot of red (yellow) shirts bite the dust!

Empok Nor

We raid Empok Nor for equipment compatible with DS9, but even though we know the place is going to be full of traps we are not at all careful and bad things happen. Red shirts die. Garak goes a little nutty. Miles makes some very bad decisions. Bad bad bad. But a fun episode to watch!

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Blaze of Glory

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 23 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Blaze of Glory. Ken Marshall is back as Snodgrass/Eddington! And it's like nothing has changed - he's still wearing his over-sized rebel jacket and he's as smug as ever! Sadly...there is still no singing in this episode!

Blaze of Glory

The Klingons intercept a message about an attack by the Maquis and Sisko leaps into action. He pulls Eddington (aka Snodgrass) out of his tiny jail cell with his giant jacket and takes him on a mission to stop the missiles. Well....Snoddy has some tricks up those over-sized sleeves and Sisko is not amused.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Children of Time

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 22 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Children of Time where we have some time travel shenanigans! But really what are the best kind of shenanigans? Time travel shenanigans! There are some truly unexpected things in this episode: first Odo is going to be a hunk in a couple hundred years and second being Klingon is a matter of choice. These are not things I knew prior to watching Children of Time.

Children of Time

The crew is on its way back from some work in the Gamma Quadrant (no idea why we still go there) when Dax wants to stop off to see some sciencey stuff. Unfortunately that leads us into some serious trouble when we land on a planet full of the crew's descendants. That wouldn't be so bad except these people can't exist unless the Defiant goes back in time, stranding everyone forever.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Soldiers of the Empire

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 21 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Soldiers of the Empire where we bounce from Ferengi nonsense to Klingon honor! This week we spend a lot of time on a smoky, dark Klingon ship with melodrama, drinking and hand-to-hand combat. And in great news, we welcome back recurring character Martok played by J.G. Hertzler who coincidentally just appeared on an episode of Star Trek Lower Decks!

Soldiers of the Empire

When Martok is called upon by the Klingon empire to locate a missing Klingon ship, he finds himself in an unfamiliar position: he is cautious and afraid! Turns out his time in the Jem'Hadar internment camp had some lasting effects on the grizzled general. But never fear, Worf is here to remind him of his warrior heart! How's that for Klingon melodrama?

Rebinging Star Trek Voyager: Dreadnought

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Rebinge Star Trek Voyager S2E17: Dreadnought. A mistake from B'Elanna's past comes back to haunt her.

Dreadnought

In this episode we bump into a Cardassian weapon from the Alpha Quadrant. While that is a surprise, it's an even bigger surprise that the weapon was programmed by B'Elanna and she is the only one who can stop it before it attacks a nearby planet. Guest stars Jeffrey Combs as Brunt and Wallace Shawn as the Grand Nagus Zek return but a new actress (Cecily Adams) appears as Ishka (Quark's mom). We've got a whole lot of Ferengi nonsense in this episode, so brace yourselves!

Ferengi Love Songs

When Quark heads back to his home planet to whine to his mother about his own failings, he learns his mother is having an affair with Zek. He also learns that Zek's mental abilities are declining and his mother has been supporting him! In addition to this news, Quark has to deal with Brunt always on his tail about everything. Ties of Blood and Water

When Tekeny Ghemor returns to the station, Kira is all excited and ready to treat him like a head of state, but he arrives with some bad news. Rebinging Star Trek DS9: A Simple Investigation

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 17 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: A Simple Investigation! Time for Odo to get a girlfriend and it's played by a very human-looking alien named Arissa played by Dey Young. But, of course, nothing is truly simple because Arissa has a couple of big secrets.

A Simple Investigation

Odo meets a woman in Quark's bar and after she pays him a compliment, Odo seems to fall head over heels in love with her. After a few missteps, Odo does get the girl, but there are a lot of secrets for him to uncover. Ultimately it's a bit of a tragic love story for Odo but he does finally get to make out someone which seems to make him very (briefly) happy.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Doctor Bashir, I Presume

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 16 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Doctor Bashir, I Presume! We move on from the very serious two-parter involving the Dominion into something less dramatic and certainly narrower in scope! Robert Picardo from Voyager fame joins us as the cantankerous Dr. Lewis Zimmerman intent on turning Julian into a holographic long term medical hologram! Also joining our extremely lively discussion this week is our favorite guest host, local artist Attiba Royster of the Teebs and Kid Phoenix Vs podcast. Check out Attiba's art here, it's pretty awesome!

Doctor Bashir, I Presume

Dr. Zimmerman has arrived to do an intense study into all things Julian and to do this he must interview everyone who knows Julian, including his parents. When Julian's parents arrive, Julian unravels a bit as we start to find some secrets in the Bashir family closet. There is also a B-story in this episode where Leeta (played by Chase Masterson) tries to get Rom's romantic attention and it does not go well.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: By Inferno's Light

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 15 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: By Inferno's Light! We wrap up our two-part story with lots of guest stars! We have Marc Alaimo as Gul Dukat, Melanie Smith as Ziyal, Andrew Robinson as Garak, JG Heltzler as Martok and Robert O'Reilly as Gowron. Not only do we need to survive the onslaught of Jem'Hadar ships from the end of last week's episode but we need to get Worf back to the Alpha Quadrant!

By Inferno's Light

We quickly put the death of Garak's dad behind us and try to figure out how to get the heck out of the internment camp. Back on the station we learn that Dukat has been up to no good for a long time and has aligned himself with the Dominion in order to become ruler of all of Cardassia (this seems like a very short-sighted plan). But maybe the biggest secret in this episode is the dark plan that Dukat and the Dominion have to destroy the Bajoran sun. Yikes!

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: In Purgatory's Shadow

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 14 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: In Purgatory's Shadow. Last week we had Eddington back, this week it's Garak! Worf and Garak head out on a mission together and really everything goes wrong from there. It's good to have Garak back in an episode but unfortunately we also have to put up with Gul Dukat. Along with some drama, we get several big surprises in this episode!

In Purgatory's Shadow

When a mysterious Cardassian message is received from deep in the Gamma Quadrant, Garak tries to sneak away in a runabout. Turns out the message is from Enabran Tain (Dad!) and Garak feels obligated to follow the lead. Sisko agrees, but sends Worf along to keep an eye on things. Well nothing good ever happens in the Gamma Quadrant and today is no different.

RBDS9 115 – For the Uniform (S5E13)17 Jul 202200:43:52
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: For the Uniform

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 13 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: For the Uniform. SNODGRASS IS BACK! That's right, Ken Marshall is back as Commander Eddington and he has turned the smug dial up to 11. Snoddy and Sisko trade jibes of who is betraying their uniform more. We've got drama, space battles, ill-fitting costumes and some highly questionable ethics. What more could you want? Singing, that's what you could want. You'll have to tune in for that discussion.

For the Uniform

Commander Eddington is still on the run but now he's causing a bit more trouble. Not only is he now attacking Cardassian settlements, he's sabotaging Starfleet ships. That is a big no-no for Sisko who continues to pursue Mr. Smug Snodgrass himself. Snoddy is so irksome he pushes Sisko to do some things that maybe he shouldn't, but all in the name of catching his man.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: The Begotten

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 12 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: The Begotten where there is a lot of begetting going on. Kira is in labor (sort of) and Odo ends up with a baby (sort of).

The Begotten

Kira finally goes into labor and Shakaar and Miles are butting heads. It's a little silly, but it gets the job done. Meanwhile, Odo has a child of his own to deal with - a changeling child that Quark sells him. This child has been exposed to some radiation, so is a little ill but Bashir does some magic to help and Odo starts walking around the station with his new child in a coffee cup! It's all fun and games until Dr. Moira (Odo's father) turns up to help get the shapeshifter to start shapeshifting.

RBDS9 113 – The Darkness and the Light (S5E11)03 Jul 202200:46:42
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: The Darkness and the Light

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 11 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: The Darkness and the Light. Kira has been missing or just a side character for most of this season, but she's finally coming back (into the light?)! In this episode some of her resistance fighting friends are being brutally murdered and she knows she might be next. There's a lot of 'darkness' and 'light' talk in the last part of this episode and I can't say we followed the entire metaphor, but it's still a powerhouse episode for Nana Visitor.

The Darkness and the Light

Somebody is killing resistance fighters and Odo is concerned that Kira is in danger. He tries to track down the killers as Kira's friends are knocked off one by one. Kira can only stand back and watch for so long - at some point she's going to get herself into the action.

From RebingeIt: Star Trek Prodigy S2E8: Ascension Parts I and II

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 15 and 16: Ascension Parts I and II. The crew is reunited, which seems like great news, but we seem to have forgotten that Asencia / Tahani still wants to kill everyone in Starfleet! That's right, Jameela Jamil is back!

Ascension Parts I and II

The crew is reunited with Janeway and Voyager, but the mission is still not complete. We need to get the Protostar back to where it belongs, unfortunately we are about to run into some very big obstacles to our plans. Asencia turns up with weapons from the future and a plan to destroy Starfleet.

Today's lesson: the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

RBDS9 112 – Rapture (S5E10)26 Jun 202200:56:05
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Rapture

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 10 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: Rapture. Louise Fletcher is back!! Finally we get Kai Winn back and in full force - she's all "child" this and "will of the prophets" that just like you'd expect. We're so happy (at least Kim is so happy) to have a visit from this iconic character. In other news, Sisko's got some crazy stuff going on in this episode as he's having visions and spewing prophecy-sounding statements. We hope you'll join us for this amazing episode of DS9 (please forgive Kim's audio this week as it's a bit subpar).

Rapture

Sisko gets an electrical zap while trying to unravel a 20,000 year old Bajoran puzzle. And suddenly that Emissary business starts to rule his life. Even Kai Winn finally has to admit that Sisko really is the Emissary. But it's not all rainbows and unicorns as Sisko's new power is killing him and he (or someone) has to make a choice.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: The Ascent

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 5 episode 9 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine: The Ascent. We've got an odd couple theme this week as Odo and Quark are stranded together on a cold, lifeless planet while Nog and Jake reunite only to find that roommate life isn't what they expected.

The Ascent

Odo and Quark get stranded together on a harsh planet due to a failed assassination attempt. They spend most of their time bickering while trying to climb a mountain (hence: "the ascent"). Meanwhile, back at the station Nog is back and he's a super keen Starfleet cadet! He and Jake move in together only to discover they don't have a lot in common anymore. There is A LOT of bickering in this episode (not in the podcast), but don't worry, everyone gets along (sort of) in the end.

Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Star Trek First Contact

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to a very special episode of Season 5 of Rebinge Deep Space Nine! This week we are expanding beyond the bounds of Deep Space Nine and into the lovely comfortable world of Star Trek The Next Generation. That's right, this week we are watching and talking about Star Trek First Contact because we've reached the point in the release schedule where this move was unleashed on the world. While we still have a link to DS9 with good old Worf, he is not the star of this movie. There is no denying the star is the unforgettable Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard. The entire crew is here, including Jonathan Frakes who also directed. And we have some amazing new characters portrayed by the unbelievably talented Alfre Woodard, Alice Krige and James Cromwell.

Star Trek First Contact

Well...bad news...the Borg are back and this time it's even worse because we've discovered they have a leader! An evil Borg Queen has arrived to try and assimilate earth before they have a chance to discover space travel! But don't worry, Picard, Data, Riker, Troi, Crusher, LaForge and Worf are here to stop her.
