The Secret to Raising Your Real Estate Commissions in 2025 w/ Anthony Lamacchia | Episode 9416 Jan 202500:30:52

Between challenges in the market and the changes to legislation, 2024 wasn’t the easiest time to be in real estate. It’s hardly surprising that we’re expecting a 20% to 40% exit rate of licensed agents. But for some agents, tough markets are actually the best time to grow.

Even though the market was at an all time low, some agents have been able to thrive, raise their commissions and grow their market share. How do you join their ranks?

When an agent is doing all the right things, buyers and sellers will never bat an eye on hiring you and paying you what you’re worth. 2025 is promising to be a great year with a ton of opportunities for some agents.

What do you need to be paying attention to if you want to win over the next 12 months? Has anything good come out of the NAR settlement?

How do you raise your commissions this year? In this episode, I’m joined by Broker/Owner and CEO of Lamacchia Realty, Anthony Lamacchia. He shares what it takes to succeed in real estate in today’s market.

At this time of the year, inventory is at its lowest so buyers are back to competing, sellers are back to ruling the roost because there’s less to choose from. -Anthony Lamacchia

Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

  • The real impact of the settlement
Now that the dust of the buyer agency ruling has started to settle, have any positives come out of it?

  • How to have staying power in this business
Real estate is set to have a 20% to 40% exodus rate. What is the secret to thriving for decades in this industry?

  • Acquisition vs. opening a new office in a city
One of Anthony’s growth strategies is buying real estate companies that have been in the business for 30 to 50 years. Why do they use this strategy instead of opening their own companies in new cities?

The Hidden Dangers of Success: A Warning for High Achievers w/ Molly Bloom | Episode 9309 Jan 202500:40:09

In real estate, it's easy to get caught up in the pursuit of success, especially when the stakes are high and the market is competitive.

For people like Molly Bloom, an entrepreneur, former professional skier, and mastermind behind one of the most exclusive high-stakes poker games in the world, the allure of wealth and power took her down a dangerous path.

Molly’s poker games attracted Hollywood stars, business moguls, and athletes, creating an environment where money and fame collided.

But what happens when the game you’re playing turns into a game of consequences? Are you positioning yourself in real estate where your success might come at a much higher cost? Are you pursuing deals without fully considering the risks involved?

Molly Bloom’s involvement in illegal gambling led to her arrest, causing everything she had built to collapse. This turning point serves as a wake-up call for those chasing success without considering the risks.

In this episode, entrepreneur, author, and former professional skier Molly Bloom, known for orchestrating one of the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker games, joins me in this episode to share her remarkable journey. She discusses the lessons learned from hosting underground poker games with celebrities and moguls, and how she transformed her experiences into a powerful story of personal growth and resilience.

I think that you have to start to look at the patterns in your life and take some responsibility there. -Molly Bloom

Success in any industry, especially real estate, comes from building trust and relationships, not sacrificing people for personal gain. How can prioritizing integrity help us prove ourselves in the competitive landscape?

How to Escape the Production Trap and Build a $1B Expansion Empire w/ Rob Ellerman | Episode 8407 Nov 202400:38:38

There are two ways to maximize your income as a real estate agent. You can stay in production, hold onto the entire transaction and never experience the time freedom this business offers.

Or you can relinquish the transaction, get your time back and earn money through leverage and expansion.

For the short-sighted, option 1 works, but that’s how we end up with agents who are stuck selling real estate longer than they need to. The agents who give up money for more time have balance and a sustainable career trajectory in the business.

Rob Ellerman chose the second option, and grew his income through expansion teams instead of production, and today he’s closing in on $1 billion in volume. What drove him to build his business this way? Why is a slow market such a good time to double down on advertising?

How can team leaders provide value to their agents? In this episode, I’m joined by entrepreneur, expansion team leader and the first Real Producer cover in Kansas City, Rob Ellerman. He shares why he took a different path to growth, marketing strategies and the biggest mistake agents make.

The most money you can make on any given transaction is if you do the whole thing yourself. I’m willing to give money up in order to have more time. -Rob Ellerman

Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

  • A Warren Buffett approach to expansion
Typically when agents do expansion teams, they expand within the same brokerage brand. Why does Rob expand through different brands in different locations?

  • Time to double down on advertising
In a recession, most agents will back out of paying for billboard advertising. Why is this actually the best time to pay for it?

  • The problem with growing through production
The majority of real estate agents would pick a higher commission check over time freedom. Does this set them up for a trap later on?

Guest Bio

Rob Ellerman is a real estate leader, entrepreneur and owner of the Rob Ellerman Team with The ReeceNichols Company. With expansion teams in several cities, Rob’s Team earns over $800 million annually and is one of the fastest growing real estate teams in the country. The Rob Ellerman team is #1 in Kansas City for homes sold and #1 team in Missouri and Kansas. Follow @therobellermanteam on Instagram.

Impact vs. Income: Why Coaching Is the Ultimate Real Estate Pivot w/Tara Smith | Episode 8331 Oct 202400:35:49

Many agents enter the industry thinking it’s all about selling. But, over time, some discover a higher calling—coaching. While selling helps individuals, coaching impacts entire communities, creating bigger opportunities for everyone involved. It’s a shift that takes your real estate career to a new level, allowing you to make a lasting difference in people’s lives.

The pivot from selling to coaching isn’t just about you, it’s about expanding your reach. As a coach, you help others in your world achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Coaching allows you to unlock your potential in a way that traditional selling can’t (and unlock potential in others). How could helping others succeed redefine your own success? How do we recognize when it's time to pivot from simply selling to becoming a catalyst for change?

In this episode, Operating Principal at Keller Williams Realty, Inc Tara Smith joins me to talk about coaching as a pathway to greater fulfillment and impact, what the pivot form selling to coaching looks like and her journey to being a 4x franchise owner. We also talk about the importance of mindset when it comes to success and how to get rid of our own limiting beliefs.

90% of success is mindset related. -Tara Smith

Why Your Real Estate Business Isn’t Attracting Clients (And How to Fix It) w/ Jay Papasan | Episode 8224 Oct 202400:35:55

Building something that stands the test of time takes immense dedication and vision. Think about cathedrals—centuries of labor and craftsmanship have resulted in breathtaking structures that draw people from all corners of the world. Why? Because they're built with purpose, detail, and a legacy in mind.

In the realm of real estate, this principle holds immense power. How can we create something that not only serves a function but also attracts the very clients we want to serve?

So many businesses and real estate companies struggle to attract the right clients or tenants. We pour time and energy into it, but it just doesn't have that pull that makes people come to us effortlessly.

How do we create something that stands the test of time? What if, instead of constantly chasing clients or buyers, we could create a business or product that naturally attracts the people we want to serve, like cathedrals attract visitors?

In this clip, I'm joined by creative executive, founder, and best-selling author Jay Papasan to discuss how to create something that not only attracts the people you want to serve but also resonates deeply with your target audience.

  • Why we have to give to grow
Giving and investing in others strengthens connections and cultivates personal fulfillment. How can cultivating a habit of generosity impact our relationships and overall well-being?

Lessons From 2008: Why Top Agents Thrive In Tough Markets w/Bobby Wright | Episode 8117 Oct 202400:41:22

Those who thrived through the 2008 recession learned to expect the unexpected. They weren’t caught off guard when the market shifted—they anticipated it, prepared for the worst, and stayed ahead.

In this episode, director of product growth at Real Producers Magazine Bobby Wright joins me to talk about navigating the uncertain real estate market and why the best agents actually wait for a challenging market. In real estate, you either have what it takes to make $500k or you don’t. What holds people back from the income level they want is putting their focus on the wrong things.

We think prioritizing everyone else is what will allow us to succeed but we actually have to learn to respect ourselves more.

We pour everything into our businesses and leave very little for our families instead of giving them our best. We chase small wins instead of making the long-term legacy play.

What if we could make a leap in our income by making small changes to how we do things? How can we open our own inner dialogue so we can grow? How do we build strong relationships and connections while still respecting ourselves?

In this episode, I’m joined by the co-founder of Lopez & Lopez REALTORS® and author of “The Best Way to Do Everything Wrong”, Tyler Lopez. We talk about the value of respecting ourselves as business owners, and what keeps us from earning what we want.

  • Doing one thing well

  • Bad hires

How to Handle Real Estate Rejection Like a Top Producer | Episode 7826 Sep 202400:12:49

As real estate pros, we can swing from feeling like the greatest salespeople to wanting to quit very quickly. If a consultation goes well, we’re at the top of the world. If we don’t get a sale, we feel rejected, dejected and ready to leave the business entirely.

The best salespeople aren’t immune to this emotional rollercoaster, but they deal with it differently. Of course, the rejection hurts, but instead of licking their wounds, they bounce back faster so they can win the next deal.

How do we learn to move through rejection faster? How do we better handle the emotions that come with working in sales? In this episode, I share one lesson I have learned from the great agents we’ve featured in the magazine.

People think once you reach a certain point in sales, you won’t suffer from the same emotions negative everyone else does. That’s not true. The only difference is the amount of time you let it affect you. -Remington Ramsey

Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

  • The challenge all salespeople face
Real estate sales can be an emotional rollercoaster. How do we create more emotional fortitude to reduce the ups and downs?

  • Don’t lick your wounds for too long
Top producers might feel the sting of a rejection, but they don’t dwell on it. How do they use negative emotions to get better?

  • Surround yourself with people who support your dreams
As people, we’re very easily influenced by the people we’re around the most. How do we make sure these people are helping us move in the right direction?

Wealth Will NEVER Be Enough: The Truth About Real Estate Success w/ Christopher Harper | Episode 7719 Sep 202400:29:31

Do you ever feel like no matter how much wealth you gain, it never feels like enough? You’ve achieved financial success, but deep down, there’s still that sense of dissatisfaction - that lingering feeling that something’s missing.

Many of us strive for more, thinking that accumulating wealth will fill the void, but we end up realizing that material gain alone isn’t the answer.

The truth is, true wealth isn’t measured in dollars; it’s measured in how we use our gifts to make a difference.

What if the real transformation you seek isn't just about building wealth, but about making an impact greater than yourself?

In this episode, philanthropist, venture capitalist, and entrepreneur, Christopher Harper joins me to discuss his journey of radical transformation, making an impact beyond ourselves, and the challenges he's faced while writing his soon-to-be-published book, Beyond Hell’s Flames.

When you have a second chance at life, you don’t look at things in the same way. -Christopher Harper

Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-Getting a second chance at life

-Create an impact that extends beyond ourselves

Making an impact greater than ourselves involves contributing to causes or initiatives that benefit others and create lasting positive change. How can we focus our efforts to ensure that the impact we make extends beyond our personal gains?

-Talents vs. gifts

Talents are skills we develop through practice, while gifts are innate abilities tied to our purpose. How can we identify the difference between a talent we've honed and a gift we were born with?

As agents and business owners, a bad day can kill our motivation and destroy our momentum - that is, unless we do something about it.

Let’s face it, as frustrating as it can be, a bad day in real estate isn’t a catastrophe. It’s usually that no one picked up our call, or that we grinded all day with no results. In the grand scheme of things, that’s not a big deal, and you can easily turn this around.

There’s one step you can take to not just get rid of the negativity, but actually do something positive. It’s as simple as writing a note.

How can you use handwritten notes to turn around a bad day? In this episode, I talk about a simple technique to cure a bad day.

The Ultimate Guide to Building a Real Estate Empire on YouTube w/Levi Lascsak and Travis Plumb | Episode 7505 Sep 202400:31:50

In today’s digital age, there’s a powerful, often overlooked tool that can transform your real estate business—YouTube. Many agents are stuck in the old ways, focusing on costly methods while missing out on the vast opportunities that lie in video content.

By creating content that resonates with audiences, you can establish yourself as an authority, attract clients, and grow your business—all while spending time and effort, not money.

How do we overcome the doubt and uncertainty that comes with going the non-traditional route? What is the importance of laser-focus when it comes to businesses being built on and around YouTube?

In this episode, Levi Lascsak and Travis Plumb of Passive Prospecting join me to talk about building a real estate business on YouTube, what their approach to it was and why it's important to surround yourself with people who can help elevate us.

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-Stick to what you know

It can be difficult to navigate unfamiliar situations when you’re starting out in real estate, especially if we’re not educated on them. How can sticking to what we know help in these situations?

-Naysayer no go

When we're just starting out, it's easy to get discouraged by the naysayers. Why should we just keep our head down and focus on what matters?

-Social media success.

Social media is vast and different platforms have different success rates. Can success on one platform be duplicated on another?

Relational Real Estate: How Gratitude Gives You the Competitive Edge w/ John Israel | Episode 9202 Jan 202500:38:24

In real estate, you can get away with being a transactional salesperson - going from one deal to the next - for a limited amount of time. At some point, you’ll have to shift to being relational if you want long-term success.

Anybody can get one deal…but it takes a completely different skillset to keep a relationship and get business for the rest of someone’s life.

There are many ways we can nurture a long-term relationship with clients. Sending out valuable content, giving gifts and hosting client events, but a humble handwritten “thank you” card can actually be more effective than anything else.

Gratitude isn’t just a great behavior to train ourselves on, it can give us the competitive advantage in business. How can we use gratitude and handwritten notes to build stronger relationships? How do you consistently show up for the people in your sphere? How do we practice gratitude when we don’t feel like it?

In this episode, I’m joined by Mr. Thank You, John Israel. The keynote speaker, author and gratitude coach talks about his journey, sending 1800 cards in a year, and how to shift out of transactional selling.

Anybody can get a deal, but to keep a relationship and get their business for the rest of their life takes work. -John Israel

Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

  • What you appreciate wants to duplicate
In order to get more out of our relationships, we have to take responsibility for them. How do we reinforce our connection with people?

  • How to be grateful when you don’t feel like it
Gratitude doesn’t come naturally for human beings, so how do we make it a habit?

  • Go beyond handwritten cards
Handwritten cards are a strategic tool to make more connections, but it’s not just about sending out a handwritten card and disappearing. How do we make sure we’re consistent in our care and communication?

Guest Bio

John Israel is a keynote speaker, author, and founder and Chief Gratitude officer of Mr. Thank You, a consulting firm focused on client and employee retention. Lakefront Real Estate: The Lucrative Niche Behind a Massive Success w/ w/Chris Mosier | Episode 7429 Aug 202400:34:53

I’ve learned that when you become everything to what a need is out there, there’s no denying that people are going to magnetize towards that. -Chris Mosier

The real estate landscape is competitive, and without a clear niche, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle.

Many real estate professionals face the same dilemma of getting stuck in a sea of generic listings, unable to differentiate themselves or their brand.

Launching a franchise, especially in a new state, is daunting enough, but focusing on a niche like lakefront properties adds another layer of complexity.

But what if you could turn that niche into your biggest advantage, becoming an expert in that field? How valuable would it be to offer something truly unique that draws clients to you?

Chris “The Lake Realtor” Mosier, broker and listing agent at Lake Front Living joins me to talk about her journey owning a franchise and growing it nationally and how she found her passion in lake homes.

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

  • Intentionality when it comes to family
We need to be more intentional when it comes to what we plan and create for our families. How does this contribute to the memories they make and carry?
  • Generalist vs. specialist
If we need brain surgery, we’re going to want a specialist, not a generalist. Why does the same apply when we want to purchase a lake home?
  • Why some things aren’t better done alone
A lot of money and time can be wasted doing things on our own if we’re not educated properly on it. Can we save time and money by asking for help?

Guest Bio

As the driving force behind Ohio's Premier Lakefront Realtor Brokerage, Chris Mosier's mission is to unite buyers and sellers of lakefront properties across the state. Since founding Lakefront Living Realty—The Lake Team in 2015, the brokerage has expanded to include four virtual offices located at Hoover Reservoir, Apple Valley Lake, Candlewood Lake, and Put-In-Bay. Each office is staffed with resident realtor specialists who have an intimate knowledge of their respective lakes and markets. Chris is also excited about adding Buckeye Lake and Indian Lake to the roster this season. The brokerage's membership in every MLS in the state ensures that their listings receive statewide exposure, catering to buyers who prefer to be within a 2-3 hour driving radius from their home. Their custom website simplifies the search process, focusing solely on lake homes.

In 2017, Chris partnered to franchise Lakefront Living Realty International, which is now operating in 12 states and is steadily working toward a nationwide presence—one lake at a time. Chris is honored to have been recognized in Entrepreneur Magazine's Franchise 500 for 2023, a distinction achieved by less than 5% of real estate franchisors. Although not yet ranked, Chris is determined to change that in the coming year, with eyes set on global lakefront domination.

Humor Is the Secret to Selling to More Homes w/ Les McGehee | Episode 7001 Aug 202400:44:12

When people talk about what it takes to succeed, a lot of things come up. Motivation, drive, persistence and skill are all important, but one thing that’s highly underestimated and underutilized is humor.

We might not think making someone laugh can be a gamechanger in business. The truth is, people are more likely to trust us, buy what we sell and listen to what we have to say through humor.

It might not be something we’re taught, but anyone can learn how to be funny and add some lightheartedness to our communication and even our training.

What can the most talented actors and comedians teach us about scripts? Why is grit so critical to our success?

In this episode, I’m joined by author, speaker, thought-leader, coach and trainer, Les McGehee. He shares why humor and comedy are the things that propelled him to success. He also talks about how we can infuse what we do with some humor and levity.

The Realtors and comedians we admire have learned so many scripts and structures that they just flow through them. -Les McGehee

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-The power of grit, persistence and humor

In school we were taught how to write, read and count. What were some of the missing pieces of our education?

-What went well and why

The world operates on a negativity bias. We’re more focused on our weaknesses, but our strengths are what pull us forward. How do we change how we see things?

-What great actors teach us about scripts

A lot of training in real estate is around scripts, but why do we need to take it

further than just memorizing words?

Hope and Healing: Inside Uganda's Fight to Stop Child Sacrifice w/Peter Sewakiryanga Episode 6925 Jul 202400:24:06

Correction: In our recent episode, we incorrectly referred to Kyampisi Childcare Ministries as a "partner" of N2Gives. While Real Producers has supported Kyampisi Childcare Ministries, we wish to clarify that N2Gives is not a partner of Kyampisi Childcare Ministries, nor is it otherwise associated with or endorsed by N2Gives. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

In Uganda, the horror of child sacrifice persists, driven by a chilling belief that such acts can bring wealth and power. Many who may not even believe in witchcraft see it as an opportunity to exploit and manipulate, taking advantage of vulnerable communities.

Imagine the anguish of families torn apart by the loss of innocent children, sacrificed for the promise of prosperity.

This gruesome reality is what Peter Sewakiryanga confronts daily through Kyampisi Childcare Ministries (KCM).

Peter and KCM tirelessly work to eradicate child sacrifice by offering love, support, and practical assistance to affected families. Through education, community outreach, and advocacy, they are pioneering a path towards healing and justice.

In this episode, executive director at Kyampisi Childcare Ministries in Uganda joins me to talk about the dark reality of child sacrifice, why it is still rife despite many attempts to abolish it and how KCM is bringing justice to victims and their families.

To contribute to this cause, visit https://kyampisi.org/ and help abolish sacrifice.

There is a lack of awareness and there is a fear of addressing the issue because somehow people believe that these spiritual powers that witch doctors have will attack them so the best thing to do is ignore it. -Peter M Sewakiryanga

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-Why child sacrifice is kept hush

The plague of child sacrifice troubles many communities, but why is it kept so quiet? Why don’t people take action against it?

-Battles being fought to bring justice

Apart from fighting an ongoing battle to end child sacrifice in Uganda, what other battles are faced in the plight to keep children safe?

-How witch doctors spread their messaging

Though not made very public, witch doctors and witchcraft is rife. How do witch doctors manage to spread the message?

Guest Bio

Peter M Sewakiryanga, a Ugandan Pastor and leader of Kyampisi Childcare Ministries (KCM), is dedicated to eradicating child sacrifice in Uganda. His vision centers on eliminating this practice through the power of love. His multifaceted approach includes seeking justice for the victims, providing care for survivors and their families, and fostering transformation in communities ravaged by this barbarism.

The village of Kyampisi, situated an hour from Uganda's capital, serves as the epicenter of this tragic issue. In 2008, Peter made a deliberate decision to relocate there. He established a church and a school, recognizing the need for improved healthcare and envisioning the establishment of a clinic as part of his mission.

Invention and Innovation: How To Turn Simple Needs Into Powerful Solutions w/Ron Klein | Episode 6605 Jul 202400:32:12

Succeeding in business is a combination of identifying a pressing need and creating a solution. That can be difficult. In a world where everyone is competing for the next big idea, how can we ensure our innovation doesn't just add to the noise?

Consider the frustration of seeing countless ideas that either over-complicate simple issues or fail to offer proper benefits. This can leave many entrepreneurs feeling stuck, struggling to break through with solutions that are both smart and impactful.

What is the key to overcoming this challenge? How do we simplify already existing needs and provide solutions that have a clear benefit?

In this episode, Ron Klein AKA The Grandfather of Possibilities joins me to discuss invention and innovation, how to clearly define and solve a problem and his thought process when it comes to inventions. We also talk about his invention of the magnetic strip on the credit card, credit card validity checking system and the development of computerized systems for Real Estate (MLS) Multiple Listing Services.

My philosophy with everything is simplification. -Ron Klein

Success is Simple: Inside the Mind of a Top Salesperson w/Mike Maletich | Ep 6130 May 202400:35:51

Most people get into real estate sales seeking freedom from the schedule of a traditional job. But that same freedom can be a double-edged sword - it can take you away from what it takes to succeed.

The people who get the most out of the sales role are the ones who work it like a 9-5. We know what to do, but that lack of consistent, extended follow through is what gets in the way of our results. That’s what separates the top salespeople from everyone else - they work doggedly at the things that produce income.

Our guest, Mike Maletich knows this all too well. With over double the volume of the average salesperson, he is the most successful area director in the history of N2 Publishing.

What’s his psychology around sales? What do entrepreneurs get wrong about freedom? How is he instilling what matters into his own children? In this episode, Mike talks about the key to success in sales and what motivates him.

The most difficult part in any sales job is setting your schedule and being disciplined. We all know what to do and how to do it, but very few follow through for an extended period of time. -Mike Maletich

Win Right: How to Stop Sabotaging Success From Within w/Jonathan Sprinkles | Ep 6023 May 202400:34:56

When it comes to achieving what we want, the biggest barriers are the ones we place upon ourselves. This is especially true for high achievers.

We can fall into the trap of imposter syndrome and feeling unworthy. We can second guess ourselves out of our own greatness. We can subconsciously set ourselves up to lose even if we say we want to win.

If we don’t think of success the right way and set goals accordingly, we’ll suffocate under the very thing we wanted. Ultimately, we can only rise as high as our level of inner conflict about things, so how do we remove that friction?

What are the biggest psychological traps we set for themselves and how do we escape them? Why is it critical to learn to take credit for our wins? In this episode, I’m joined by the author of 14 books including ‘Get Off Your "But" and Make It Happen!’  and business coach, Jonathan Sprinkles. He talks about how to become the person you would be if you weren’t doubting yourself.

If you’re not prepared for the blessing, you’re going to suffocate under it. -Jonathan Sprinkles

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-Own your successes

Successful people are taught to never take credit for their accomplishments - “make it about the team”. Can that trigger imposter syndrome? How can we own our wins without being arrogant?

-How to live without limits

Losing can be as addictive as winning if we build our identity around it. How do people keep attracting losses, even though they say they don’t want them?

-The power of the word “or”

If we don’t set goals the right way, they can quickly turn into self-imposed ceilings when we achieve them faster than expected. How do we set goals from the start without limiting ourselves?

Guest Bio

Compete or Participate: The Choice Every Agent Has to Make Right Now w/Jay Pitts | Ep 5916 May 202400:38:05

The real estate industry has tolerated and even celebrated low barriers to entry. It’s a bit like the grown-up version of giving kids participation trophies. The result: agents who can’t compete in the face of disruption.

As the NAR settlement promises to compress commissions, we can expect the agents who weren’t prepared to be squeezed out. This could have been avoided if agents were taught to compete instead of relaxing because the MLS always guaranteed a check.

As the leader of Kentucky’s #1 team and Dad who coaches his kids, our guest has the perfect perspective on the danger of participation trophies. Is there ever a case for giving kids participation trophies? What does the NAR settlement mean for agents who didn’t prepare to compete?

How can we become better marketers? In this episode, Jay Pitts talks about succeeding in real estate, and the big problem we had before the settlement.

When you compress commissions substantially on one side of the transaction, there’ll be less money to go around. The result is, we’re going to be left with the real true pros. -Jay Pitts

Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-The two things every agent must do

What’s the difference between brand engagement and direct response marketing?

-How to live a disciplined life

-A case for participation trophies

-A great opportunity for good marketers

Before the NAR settlement, mediocre buyer agents made the same amount of money as the cream of the crop. How does this shift change that?

Facial Features: The Sales Secret Weapon Right Under Your Nose w/Brian Galke | Ep 5518 Apr 202400:41:13

Body language is the cornerstone of reading people, but what if the face can tell us all we need to know?

Whenever we’re face-to-face with people, they are communicating with us without even saying a single word. From their ears to their eyebrows and nostrils, tiny facial expressions reveal a lot and give us clues on how to communicate, sell and build rapport.

There’s up to 250 different facial features we can look at, and each of them can help us understand the people around us better and what they need.

What can eyebrow shape and even height tell us about people? How do we tweak our sales approach based on people’s micro facial expressions?

In this episode, coach and founder of Subtle Skills, Brian Galke shares the power of reading facial features and expressions, and how it will make us better salespeople.

Attempting to understand someone else isn’t manipulation, it’s going to create rapport with people instead of pushing our own agenda. -Brian Galke

In order to overcome his social anxiety, Brian intentionally pursued positions where people naturally came to him for help. With every job, he sought to improve his social skills through learning tips and tricks to interact with others effectively. As Brian’s communication abilities grew, so did his career. Each new social skill he acquired brought him another promotion, leading him to become a Corporate Trainer, move into Sales, and even be flown around the US to present to high-profile clients worth over $1 million. Eventually, he was promoted to the esteemed position of Regional Vice President of Sales, and began speaking on stages alongside renowned industry leaders such as Brad Lea, Steve Sims, Greg Reid, Alex Hormozi, and more. The US real estate industry is unlike any other in the whole world. The speed of the transaction, the number of times people move and the solutions that drive homeownership…these are all opportunities that don't really don’t exist anywhere else.

In this episode, I’m joined by broker-owner and NAR VP candidate, Colin Mullane. He shares all the work the association is doing, and how the leaders drive value.

NAR isn’t saying they can make us more successful, they are saying the opportunity exists because they provide a platform to transfer real estate in an expedited manner. -Colin Mullane

Breaking Borders: How One Burmese Refugee Transformed Adversity into Triumph w/Vung Mang | Ep 5228 Mar 202400:24:11

Imagine being uprooted from everything you know, leaving behind your home and stepping into a world where the odds seem stacked against you. This is a reality for many refugees, stepping out of their homeland in search for a better life.

The journey is not an easy one, and can be more difficult when we have a vision in mind of what a fresh start will look like, but we’re hit with a harsh reality check.

This was the experience for Vung Mang, a Burmese refugee who came to the US with nothing but determination.

How do we overcome situations where there seems to be no way out especially in a new and foreign place? How does this help us to improve mental toughness and drive?

In this episode, real estate broker, top 1% real estate agent in the Grand Rapids and Burmese refugee, Vung Mang shares his story of moving to the USA, how he overcame the challenges as a refugee and he's now helping people like himself not just survive but thrive in their new homeland.

I felt like I had to help people out, and that way I also got more connections and networking. -Vung Mang

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-Pivot to find success

When things don’t go according to our expectations, how do we look for success and opportunities elsewhere?

-Networking and mentorship

There are a lot more mentors today that are willing to help than there were in the past. How can we take advantage of that?

-A different world

What’s the difference between real estate in Burma and the USA?

Guest Bio

Born and raised in the small town of Kalay, Myanmar — formerly called Burma — Vung Mang weathered numerous challenges in life, but it didn’t stop him from finding success. He immigrated to the United States as a refugee from a communist country, and despite trying a variety of jobs before and after he resettled in the U.S., he finally found his purpose in real estate by helping other people succeed in their goals as well. “Between learning survival skills in Myanmar and having to overcome all odds, I am appreciative of what I have and of every opportunity that life offers me here,” Vung said. While Vung still lived in Myanmar, he studied English and computer networking. He then became a computer salesperson before finding work as an insurance agent for three years. In 2008, Vung relocated to Michigan and became a case aid and translator at Bethany Christian Services. He met many people in the Burmese and Nepali communities as a result of his job where he assisted families as they settled into their new lives in America.

Due to his expanding network and his growing knowledge of the area, Vung was inspired to enter real estate. He began working at Five Star Real Estate in November of 2013 as a part-time agent while still aiding people through Bethany Christian Services, but three years later, Vung realized that his career in real estate could carry him into a brighter future than what he could have ever imagined.  “When I went full-time as an agent five years ago, it changed my whole life,” Vung recalled. “I have tried all sorts of investments, and I found that real estate sales and investments are the best.”

Now an agent for over nine years, Vung has thrived in the industry. He sold 79 houses in 2022 and obtained over $24 million volume in sales, which contributed to his overall career volume of $94 million. For the past two years, he has been the #1 most-selling agent at Five Star Real Estate, and in 2022, he was ranked #35 out of over 3,000 agents in all of Grand Rapids. Vung also owns nine rentals — which contain 13 units — as well as his primary residence. One day, he hopes to possibly own a large apartment complex or commercial property. One day, Vung hopes to possibly own a large apartment complex or commercial property.

Despite Vung’s impressive achievements, he defines success as “helping people achieve their goals.” He is passionate about assisting past and current clients gain financial success through investment-property ownership, but most of all, he wants clients to remember him as a “fantastic agent who went above and beyond” and as someone who ensured that all of their transactions were completed on time.

From his humble beginning in Myanmar to only having $20 in his name when he moved to Michigan 14 years ago, Vung has worked incredibly hard to become a top-producing agent and hopes that he can inspire others to go after their dreams, too.

A Special Successor: How a Father and Daughter Became Business Partners w/Anna and Bob Kilinski | Ep 5121 Mar 202400:34:58

In any business, replacing a great founder is no easy feat. Birthing something is very different to inheriting it, so there’s pressure on both the founder and successor to make the transition a great one. On one end, you have someone handing over what they built over decades, and on the other, someone with huge shoes to fill.

Sometimes, the best person for the job is the one who was unknowingly groomed for it by osmosis her entire life. That’s how Bob Kilinski appointed his daughter, Anna to take over his successful KW regional center.

What is so special about this transition of power? How do you take over such a successful operation? What’s the process of taking over like?

In this episode, the father-daughter duo share how the decision was made and how to build and maintain a thriving business.

Real estate is less about houses and more about process and people and bringing a solution to the table. -Anna Kilinski

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-Survive, progress, arrive

What can sailing teach us about running real estate businesses in today’s market?

-Real estate isn’t actually about homes

How did Bob Kilinski get into the business of running real estate offices without a background of selling homes?

-Don’t play small by being stingy with your gifts

What made Anna Kilinski go after the opportunity of taking over the regional center her father built?

Guest Bio

Anna Kilinski

Anna Kilinski is a Realtor with over $140M in Sales as the #1 KW Team in Georgia in 2023. She is a fearless leader, barsetter, visionary and coach, who recently and most notably has taken on the role of Regional Operating Partner of the “award-winning” Southeast Region for Keller Williams, the largest and pack leader in the KW franchise. A New Orleans native who was practically born into real estate, she swore she’d never join the family’s favorite industry, but that quickly changed after she bought her first house at 25 (a duplex for that matter) and never looked back. In 2018, Anna’s unrivaled Atlanta reputation and no-nonsense, all-in approach to serving her clients earned her the Realtor-host spot on Bravo® TV’s “Buying It Blind”, in which she bought new homes on her clients’ behalf (and with their savings)—but without them actually seeing the properties. She’s earned the Millionaire Real Estate Agent accolade year over year since 2014, and Anna K Intown is consistently ranked a Top 10 Team by the Atlanta Board of Realtors, and her team #1 in Georgia for KW in 2022 serving over 200 clients and $140M+ in residential sales annually. If you’re in the KW world, you’ll appreciate knowing she runs a TRUE MREA & “profitable” model – and is passionate about others learning to do the same.

Bob Kilinski

Bob has 40+ years of experience in operating, managing and teaching in the real estate brokerage industry. As the Vice President of a prestigious real estate company in New Orleans, Gertrude Gardner Realtors, he headed up both the residential and the commercial divisions, helping to expand the company to 22 offices throughout the city and surrounding areas. Bob opened his own Keller Williams market center in New Orleans in June 1998, which grew to 75 agents in one year. Because of his enthusiasm for the Keller Williams concept, he bought the rights to develop the Southeast Region which includes Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.

The All-Encompassing Agent: How to Extend Your Value Beyond the Transaction w/Hannah Allen | Ep 4325 Jan 202400:25:25

Business owners, community figures, entrepreneurs and valuable resources. These are just a few of the things that real estate agents represent.

These roles put real estate professionals in a unique position that most don’t take advantage of. We can provide value through buying and selling a home, but there’s so much more we could do. From investing in real estate in our own right and serving our communities, to helping the consumers across many categories, we can be the all-encompassing resource for the people we work with.

What are some of the avenues we can use to extend the value we provide? What value can we provide outside of just buying or selling a home? In this episode, I’m joined by Austin TX agent, Hannah Allen. She shares how her unique childhood led her to real estate and how she’s extending her value outside of the transaction.

I don’t consider myself solely a luxury real estate professional. I love being an all encompassing agent and a resource. -Hannah Allen

Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode

-The lost art of the bed and breakfast

What did Hannah learn from growing up under the same roof as bed and breakfast?

-Be the all encompassing agent

When you decide to go after luxury listings, how do you make sure you don’t become so pigeonholed that you shut out other price points?

-Win the social media game

Most agents use platforms like Instagram to market themselves, but not LinkedIn. How is Hannah using the platform to strengthen her brand?

Guest Bio

Hannah Allen is an Austin TX agent and investor. Since before she was born, Hannah Allen’s family has had a history of connecting to the greater community via politics, tourism, hospitality and art. Soon after other bedrooms followed and the “Colcord House” bed and breakfast was born. During some visits to Austin, Hannah became hooked by the city and today she helps clients through real estate.
