It is a breath of fresh air to have a more basic, down-to-earth battleship that still exists in the game with a playstyle that is not defined by gimmick consumables, but by a genuinely balanced ship that offers exciting gameplay. This ship takes no risks and does not rely on gimmicks, making it more friendly to play for the average or beginning player to use. The Anshan is defined by its low-skill floor, low-skill ceiling classic destroyer gameplay, which is just the way it should be for a Tier VI Premium Destroyer. The Kongō is something of a right of passage, a ship that everyone ought to play at some point in their time playing World of Warships. The ship has an interesting playstyle that teaches players the concepts in World of Warships that they will need to master in order to survive at higher tiers, making it excellent for newcomers. Very forgiving, but not invincible, yet effective when in the right hands. That's what defines the Kongō. The fact that Kongō was a historical warship is just the icing on the cake.
