This episode: Sustainability is society's ability to exist and develop without depleting all natural resources needed to live. The way we are currently living, that is a goal that seems unreachable. However, nonprofits are looking more deeply into sustainability and how our profession and community can support it. I talk with my guest Joost Hasperhoven, Secretary General of Airline Representatives in The Netherlands (BARIN) about this important topic and his work to achieve this goal. When it comes to airlines, it is challenging due to the reliance on fossil fuels for airplane engines -- Joost shares what is happening in Europe to reach the 2050 goal of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and other campaigns underway like alternate travel options and asking yourself: Do I really need to travel to this meeting, or can it be done via webcam?
