Why I’ve Been Away: My Burnout and Business Comeback19 Oct 202600:37:23

Why did I disappear for over a year?

I thought £10k months meant I’d made it, until chasing them nearly broke me.

In 2025 I was running three huge group coaching programmes, often working 6am to 11pm and posting content about ‘Big money months’ that didn’t feel like me. I was snapping at the people I love, dreading Sunday nights again, and ended up in tears in my GP’s office, signed off for eight weeks. This is the warts-and-all story of my burnout, the coach who told me “business is business”, and how I slowly rebuilt myself and my business on my own terms.

I’m sharing everything I learned along the way, from deregistering for VAT and finding my f*ck yeah compass to simplifying my offers and finally emailing my list again. Whether you’re just starting out or years in, these are the lessons I wish I’d known sooner.

I never once thought my business was over. And I’m thrilled to be back!

“I started chasing somebody else’s version of success.”– Lauren

You'll hear about:

  • Chasing someone else’s version of success
  • Red flags of a controlling coach

  • Why deregistering from VAT eased pressure

Burnt out to Badass: How Pauline grew her 6-figure business from nothing01 Sep 202400:47:55

How much is your mindset holding you back from starting or growing your business?

You doubt yourself, your abilities, and don’t get me started on talking about yourself online.

My thriving client Pauline Gidoin did things the hard way. After 12 years of long, unforgiving hours she burnt out and quit with no work in the pipeline. She started from nothing to create her own residential interior architecture studio.

With no plan, the mindset issues she had to overcome were huge, which is why she wanted a coach. We worked on everything from her negative money beliefs, outsourcing tasks and developing her offerings.

Fast forward to today and she has just  signed her biggest client to date, hitting her annual goal six months early.

In this fascinating conversation, Pauline gets super vulnerable about the ups and downs of working for herself. We also dive unapologetically into our thoughts on returning to work within a few months of having a baby, taking back control of the parts of our lives that make us who we are.

Pauline shows that hard work, support and the right mindset are the real tools you need to create your business. None of that earn a million pounds in 3 days bullsh*it you see all over social media.

“I didn’t plan ahead, I had no strategy, I was like, f*ck what am I doing?” - Pauline

You'll hear about:

02:45 - Why Pauline wanted to work for herself
04:32 - Did Pauline have a plan?
08:52 - The fear and mindset of starting from nothing
10:55 - How Pauline found her first client
15:46 - Why Pauline needed help from a coach

Side Hustle Superstar: How Susie bagged 2 paying clients without touching Insta23 Jun 202400:16:30

Have you already had a couple of people pay you, but in your head they don’t count coz you already knew them? Well, you’re not alone.

Meet my fabulous client Susie Boutal who as a mother of three with a demanding 9-5 is proof that you can carve out a successful side business without compromising your integrity or sanity.

In this fascinating episode, you’ll hear how Susie’s passion for helping people saw her develop her decluttering side hustle into something more meaningful, which is when her coaching business was born.

She’d had a couple of clients by the time we’d met, but because they were friends of a friends, she felt like she’d cheated. She also had zero clarity on her niche or what she was offering so joined my Side Hustle without Social programme.

And what a transformation! By the time we’d finished working together, she’d honed her niche & created a sexy AF Beta Offer which landed her 2 paying clients, who were complete strangers to her and which helped her finally feel legit.

“Dare to think big, and let the journey unfold. Four months later, you won't be the same, but in the best way possible." - Susie Boutal

You'll hear about:

02:15 - What made Susie decide to start her business and study coaching

04:09 - Overcoming the overwhelm of launching and growing a coaching business

11:47 - Achieving her first ‘legit feeling’ paying clients

18:38 - Evolving her niche to include ADHD decluttering coaching

Office Slave to Boss Babe: How Beth took her side hustle full time09 Jun 202400:43:16

Think tax and accountancy is dull? Think again. Beth Jackson describes herself as 'Not another pants accountant' and she's on a mission to debunk the financial side of running your business - something that so many female entrepreneurs struggle with (me included before I met her).

But Beth wasn't always running her own business. She was once a corporate slave, who spent most of her days bored out of her mind 'flicking through the shared drive'.

But it wasn't until a drunken message from her sister that she decided to start a side hustle and see if she could take it full time. Get ready to hear her ridiculously honest story of how she managed to quit the corporate world and work for herself, helping small business owners with their tax and accounting.

And that's not all. Beth digs into all the burning finance and tax questions that you're too afraid to ask in case you look stupid... Should I go sole trader or limited company? How much should I be saving for tax? Do I really need an accountant?  Beth's got you covered in her unique 'professional unprofessional' style.

'"You have to really piss HMRC off for them to come and take your house. You have to be a real knob" - Beth Jackson,

You'll hear about:

03:24 How working in corporate payroll left her feeling completely undervalued.

07:33 How got her first clients into her side hustle whilst working full-time, even making sales calls in the office bathroom

21:06 How she slowly & sustainably grew that business to be able to quit her job.

25:14 Differences between sole trader and limited company; tax efficiency, limited liability differences.

38:14 Why offering a beta discount to attract initial clients is the best way to go

43:40 Why you'll need to get super visibile eventually if you want to keep your business afloat

STOP falling for this BS: The 7 worst business lies on the internet right now03 Jun 202400:11:17

WARNING: This episode is a tad ranty...

Listen as I dish out some sass and lay bare all the BS that's swirling around the online business world right now.

From those sneaky webinars trying to lure you into high-priced coaching programs to the illusion that you can charge big bucks right out of the gate... I've had enough of these fake AF promises! And don't even get me started on the whole fantasy of passive income raining from the sky.

It's time to wake up and smell the Oat Milk Latte. I'm sick and tired of the false expectations that women are falling prey to right now, so tune in as I set the record straight.

You'll hear about:

03:26 Why Instagram is the WORST place to find your first clients

07:08 How long it REALLY took me to hit £10k months

10:41 What it ACTUALLY takes to start and grow a sustainable business
