Daniil Medvedev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas - Preview & Prediction - 2026 ATP Shanghai Open
Tuesday, October 13, 2026 โข Duration 04:51
Daniil Medvedev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas โ full preview, head-to-head breakdown and prediction for their FOURTH ROUND clash at the 2026 Rolex Shanghai Masters. One of the most-played rivalries in the modern game, in a draw that has blown wide open.
Daniil Medvedev is the fifth seed and he has been ruthlessly efficient this week, dismantling Dalibor Svrcina 6-2, 6-3 in just ONE HOUR AND 14 MINUTES while breaking serve FIVE TIMES. Shanghai and these conditions have always suited his game, and with second seed Carlos Alcaraz already gone โ upset 7-5, 7-6(4) by World No. 39 Zizou Bergs โ the path through this half has opened up considerably.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is in the middle of the most encouraging stretch he's had in nearly two years. The former World No. 3 slipped outside the top 75 by May after 18 months of struggle, split with his father as coach in late June and brought in Thomas Perrin from the Mouratoglou academy. Since then the signs have been real: at the US Open he took out Cincinnati champion Arthur Fils 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-1, 6-4 despite being 0-5 in the head-to-head, then beat No. 18 seed Jiri Lehecka to reach his FIRST US Open fourth round in NINE main-draw appearances, before losing to Ben Shelton.
The head-to-head belongs to Medvedev โ he leads 10-5, and 6-2 on hard courts. But Tsitsipas won their most recent meeting 6-3, 6-4 in Doha in February this year, and he beat Medvedev in Shanghai in 2024. He knows how to win this matchup.
Medvedev is the favourite. But a resurgent Tsitsipas with recent form in the rivalry, in a draw missing Alcaraz, is exactly the kind of live underdog worth taking seriously.

What's Wrong With Alexandra Eala? Han Shi Upset In Wuhan | Post Match Analysis
Tuesday, October 13, 2026 โข Duration 08:59
Alexandra Eala is out of the Wuhan Open in the first round, beaten 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 by Chinese qualifier Han Shi โ and it's the SECOND STRAIGHT TOURNAMENT she has lost from a set up to an opponent ranked outside the top 200. Full post-match analysis of what's actually going wrong.
The pattern is the story. In Singapore, Eala led World No. 180 Tatiana Prozorova by a set and 4-2 in the second, and lost 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in three hours and nine minutes. In Wuhan, she took the opening set 6-4 against a player ranked around No. 217 โ and from 3-3 in the second, Han Shi broke her twice in a row behind a barrage of forehands and never looked back, closing it out in two hours and 27 minutes.
Two matches, two first sets won, two losses to players ranked over 190 places below her. That's not bad luck. That's something to look at.
Credit where it's due: Han Shi has had the week of her life. The 21-year-old came through qualifying the hard way, recovering from a set down to beat Peyton Stearns before taking out the in-form Kamilla Rakhimova in straight sets. This is her FIRST TOP 20 WIN, and she had only two main-draw WTA wins in her career before this week. She plays Leylah Fernandez next.
For Eala, Wuhan remains a tournament she has still never won a match at โ first-round exit in 2024, no main draw in 2025, and now this. It's a flat end to an Asian swing that also brought Asian Games bronze, and it follows the season that made her the first Filipina to win a WTA title.
In this video: where the second set turned, the serving and break-point numbers across both recent losses, whether this is a closing-out problem, a physical problem after a long season, or simply the natural correction after a career-best summer โ and what the ranking picture looks like now.

Carlos Alcaraz SHOCK Loss To Zizou Bergs In Shanghai | Post Match Analysis
Tuesday, October 13, 2026 โข Duration 04:53
Carlos Alcaraz is out of the Shanghai Masters, beaten 7-5, 7-6(4) by World No. 39 Zizou Bergs โ and the loss has confirmed Alexander Zverev as YEAR-END WORLD NO. 1 for the first time in his career. Full post-match analysis.
It took Bergs two hours and three minutes, and he earned every minute of it. The unseeded Belgian hit 24 WINNERS to Alcaraz's 16, converted three of the four break points he created, and held his nerve after failing to serve the match out at 6-5 in the second โ recovering to take the tiebreak and sealing it on his first match point with his NINTH ACE. It's comfortably the biggest win of his career, and his first against Alcaraz in two meetings.
For Alcaraz it ends a seven-match winning streak. He came into Shanghai having just defended his Japan Open title in Tokyo, beating Jiri Lehecka 7-6(4), 6-4 for his first trophy since a four-and-a-half-month wrist injury layoff โ a week where he said "I didn't know if I was going to win again this season." The level looked genuinely restored. This is a reminder that the rhythm isn't fully back.
And the ranking consequence is the bigger story. With Jannik Sinner having ended his season early with a knee problem, Alcaraz needed results here to stay in the race โ and this defeat mathematically confirms ALEXANDER ZVEREV as the year-end No. 1 for the FIRST TIME, capping a season in which he won Roland-Garros, reached the Wimbledon final, and won the US Open.
In this video: how Bergs actually won it, the winners and break-point numbers, whether this is a blip or evidence the injury comeback is still incomplete, what the year-end No. 1 confirmation means, and what's left for Alcaraz in the indoor swing and Turin.

Qinwen Zheng Becomes First Chinese Woman To Win WTA China Open! | Post Match Analysis
Sunday, October 11, 2026 โข Duration 06:04
Zheng Qinwen has made history. The wildcard beat Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-4 to become the FIRST CHINESE WOMAN EVER to win the China Open โ a tournament that has been running since 2004 โ claiming her first WTA 1000 title in front of a home crowd in Beijing. Full post-match analysis.
She clinched it on her first match point with an ace to Andreeva's backhand, then collapsed on the court in tears. She celebrated with on-court KARAOKE.
The milestone is enormous. Chinese players had gone 0-7 IN SEMIFINALS at this event before this week. Zheng became the first Chinese finalist in its 22-year history, and then went one better. It's her sixth WTA Tour title, her FIRST WTA 1000, and her FIRST TITLE OF ANY KIND SINCE 2024.
And look at how she got here. She entered as a WILDCARD and beat FOUR SEEDED PLAYERS on the way to the trophy, including Elise Mertens in straight sets in the semifinal, before taking out the reigning Roland-Garros champion in the final.
The context behind it is what makes this one of the stories of the season. The Paris 2024 Olympic gold medallist and former World No. 4 had elbow surgery in July 2025 and spent more than a year unable to find her level โ she fell to World No. 121, needed a wildcard just to enter events, and had to come through QUALIFYING to reach the US Open main draw. There, she produced the comebacks of the tournament: 5-0 down in the decider and match point against her before beating Madison Keys, then 5-0 down AGAIN before beating Iga Swiatek, who led their head-to-head 7-1. She lost to Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals. Five weeks later she's a WTA 1000 champion.
The title is expected to lift her back into the world's TOP 30.
In this video: how she beat Andreeva, the significance of the Chinese milestone, the full arc from elbow surgery to Beijing, and what a healthy Zheng Qinwen means for the rest of the tour.
Alexandra Eala vs Han Shi - Preview & Prediction - 2026 WTA Wuhan Open
Sunday, October 11, 2026 โข Duration 04:00
Alexandra Eala vs Han Shi โ full preview, head-to-head breakdown and prediction for their FIRST ROUND match at the 2026 Dongfeng Voyah Wuhan Open, a WTA 1000 in China. Eala is still chasing a first win at this tournament.
Alex Eala is seeded 13th here, but in a 56-player draw only the top eight seeds get a bye โ so she starts on Monday night on Dongfeng Voyah Center Court. She arrives from the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, where she took BRONZE after losing her semifinal to Wang Xiyu, and before that a chastening second-round exit at the Singapore Open to World No. 180 Tatiana Prozorova from a set and 4-2 up. Still, the season behind her is historic: the FIRST WTA SINGLES TITLE ever won by a player from the Philippines in Washington, a Toronto round of 16, and a US Open third round as the highest-seeded Filipina in Grand Slam history.
Wuhan, though, remains unfinished business. She lost in the first round here in 2024 and missed the main draw entirely last year. She has never won a match at this event.
Han Shi is the kind of opponent who earns respect rather than assumptions. The Chinese player, ranked around World No. 231, came through qualifying in style โ beating qualifying top seed Peyton Stearns 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 from a set down, then Kamilla Rakhimova 7-6(2), 6-1. She has only TWO MAIN-DRAW WTA WINS in her entire career, so this is comfortably her biggest week, in front of a home crowd.
They have never played. Eala is the heavy favourite โ but she's facing a qualifier with match sharpness, nothing to lose, and a Chinese crowd behind her, which is close to the exact profile of the player who beat her in Singapore. The draw opens up after this: a possible second round against Leylah Fernandez and a third round against Jessica Pegula, with Rybakina, Gauff, Noskova and Anisimova all absent from this year's field.

Carlos Alcaraz CLUTCH In Defense Of Tokyo Title vs Lehecka | Post Match Analysis
Tuesday, October 6, 2026 โข Duration 03:59
Carlos Alcaraz has successfully defended his Japan Open title, beating Jiri Lehecka 7-6(4), 6-4 in Tokyo โ his FIRST TROPHY since returning from a four-and-a-half-month wrist injury. Full post-match analysis.
This was a clutch win rather than a comfortable one. Alcaraz came through a first-set tiebreak and then closed it out in straights without ever being allowed to relax, and the numbers tell you where the match was won: he landed 85% OF HIS FIRST-SERVE POINTS and gave Lehecka just ONE BREAK POINT in the entire match. On the biggest points, he was untouchable.
The context is what makes it matter. This is Alcaraz's FIRST ATP TITLE SINCE FEBRUARY. He suffered a wrist injury at the Barcelona Open in mid-April and did not play competitive singles again until the US Open, where he arrived as defending champion with no match practice. He got to the quarterfinals before Ben Shelton dethroned him 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6(10-7) in a classic that finished at 3:33 A.M. โ the latest finish in US Open history.
"I didn't know if I was going to win again this season," he said afterwards. "What a journey since I got injured." That's the honest version of what the last six months have been.
In this video: how the tiebreak was won, the serving numbers behind the performance, where his level sits compared to pre-injury, whether Lehecka was closer than the scoreline suggests, and what this means for the indoor swing and the race to Turin.

Novak Djokovic Wins Historic ATP Title #102 in Beijing! | Post Match Analysis
Tuesday, October 6, 2026 โข Duration 09:01
Novak Djokovic has won the 2026 China Open in Beijing for his 102ND CAREER TOUR-LEVEL TITLE โ and a seventh in a city where he has never lost. Full post-match analysis of a genuinely historic week.
The final ended in deflating circumstances: Alex de Minaur retired trailing 7-6(3), 0-1, so the trophy came without a conclusion. But what surrounds it is remarkable.
Djokovic's record in Beijing now stands at 34-0. He has NEVER LOST A MATCH AT THIS TOURNAMENT. Title number 102 moves him clear in Open Era history behind only Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103) โ meaning Federer's mark is now one win away. He has also won at least one title in 21 CONSECUTIVE SEASONS, an Open Era record for a man. And at 39, he becomes the OLDEST ATP 500 CHAMPION since the category was created in 2009, taking the record from Federer, who won Basel at 38 in 2019.
The context makes it bigger. Five weeks ago he lost in the FIRST ROUND of the US Open to Mariano Navone โ his first opening-round Grand Slam defeat in two decades โ visibly unwell, sick on court, and afterwards he spoke openly about vomiting in "pretty much every match this year," his body collapsing, and not knowing how much longer he could continue. He said it seemed more likely he would not be back next year. "I can still play at the highest level," he said in Beijing.
In this video: what the week actually showed about his level, how seriously to read a title won via retirement, where 102 sits historically and what catching Federer would mean, the honest version of the fitness picture, and what it all suggests about 2027.

Alexandra Eala vs Joanna Garland - Preview & Prediction - 2026 Asian Games Quarter Final
Tuesday, September 29, 2026 โข Duration 04:28
Alexandra Eala vs Joanna Garland โ full preview, head-to-head breakdown and prediction for their QUARTERFINAL at the 2026 ASIAN GAMES in Aichi-Nagoya. The top seed goes for a medal, and a bounce-back after Singapore.
Alex Eala is the TOP SEED here and she has started exactly as she needed to. Days after a chastening second-round exit at the Singapore Open โ beaten 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 by World No. 180 Tatiana Prozorova after leading by a set and 4-2 โ the World No. 18 answered emphatically, routing Thailand's Patcharin Cheapchandej 6-1, 6-0 in just 55 MINUTES at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center.
She arrives carrying the summer that changed Philippine tennis: the FIRST WTA SINGLES TITLE ever won by a player from the Philippines at the DC Open in Washington, a Toronto round of 16, and a US Open third round as the highest-seeded Filipina in Grand Slam history. A gold medal here would be another first โ and the stakes at a Games go beyond ranking points.
Joanna Garland is not a soft quarterfinal. Chinese Taipei's leading player, the 25-year-old has been ruthless in Nagoya: a 6-0, 6-0 DOUBLE BAGEL over Mongolia's Martaa Chogsomjav in the first round, then a 6-1, 6-1 win over Mandegar Farzami. That's THREE GAMES DROPPED IN TWO MATCHES. She is ranked outside the world's top 140, but she is playing with total freedom and has had an easier physical passage than most.
They have never played. Eala is the clear favourite on ranking and pedigree โ but Singapore was a reminder that the gap closes fast when a lower-ranked opponent arrives sharp and believing.

- What Garland's dominant run actually tells us

Prozorova STUNS Alex Eala at Singapore Open | What went wrong? | Post-Match Analysis
Friday, September 25, 2026 โข Duration 09:04
Alexandra Eala is out of the Singapore Tennis Open. The No. 3 seed was beaten 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 by World No. 180 Tatiana Prozorova in a three-hour-nine-minute marathon โ and she led by a set and 4-2 in the second. Full post-match analysis of what went wrong.
The position Eala was in makes this one sting. She took the opening set 6-4 and broke for 4-2 in the second, a game away from a routine win and a quarterfinal. From there Prozorova took FIVE OF THE NEXT SIX GAMES to force a decider, and then pulled away in the third.
For Prozorova it is the win of her career. The 22-year-old Russian had just THREE WTA TOUR-LEVEL WINS to her name before this week in Singapore, and this is her FIRST EVER TOP 20 VICTORY. She had already come through a three-setter against Sofia Costoulas 5-7, 7-6(2), 6-2 in the previous round, so she arrived with court time and clearly with belief.
For Eala it is a genuinely disappointing exit. Seeded third, with a first-round bye, withdrawals opening up her section, and a projected route through Vekic and Anisimova, this was the friendliest draw she has had at this level โ a real chance at a second career WTA title after her historic first in Washington. Entering cold off a bye against an opponent already sharp from a three-set win is exactly the trap we flagged in the preview, and it played out.
In this video: where the second set turned, the serving and break-point numbers, whether the bye and the Asian swing scheduling were factors, how much of this was Prozorova playing above herself versus Eala's own level, and what it means for her ranking heading into the rest of the swing.

Alexandra Eala vs Tatiana Prozorova - Preview & Prediction - 2026 Singapore Open
Tuesday, September 22, 2026 โข Duration 04:51
Alexandra Eala vs Tatiana Prozorova โ full preview, head-to-head breakdown and prediction for their SECOND ROUND / ROUND OF 16 match at the 2026 Singapore Tennis Open, a WTA 500 at The Kallang. The No. 3 seed begins her campaign.
Alex Eala opens here as the No. 3 SEED after a first-round bye, and she arrives at World No. 18 off the season that changed everything: the FIRST WTA SINGLES TITLE ever won by a player from the Philippines at the DC Open in Washington โ beating Qinwen Zheng, Leylah Fernandez, Elina Svitolina, Naomi Osaka and world No. 3 Jessica Pegula in a single week โ then a Toronto round of 16 and a US Open third round as the highest-seeded Filipina in Grand Slam history. Withdrawals near the top of this draw have only improved her path to a possible second career title.
Tatiana Prozorova has earned this. The 22-year-old Russian, ranked around World No. 180, came through a genuinely hard opener, surviving Sofia Costoulas 5-7, 7-6(2), 6-2 across three sets on Tuesday. She is 17-9 on hard courts in 2026 and she has already shown this week that she will not go away quietly.
On paper this is a mismatch โ roughly 160 ranking places separate them, and they have never played on tour. But Eala is entering cold off a bye against an opponent who already has a three-set win and court time in Singapore, and first matches at a new event have a habit of being awkward. That's the one thing to watch.
The winner faces Xinyu Wang or Joanna Garland in the quarterfinals, with Donna Vekic and a possible semifinal against Amanda Anisimova further up the road.
