Punks In Pubs Beer Glasses Kickstarter

When I started the podcast a few years back, I knew I always wanted to create some merch for the podcast...

The obvious one was T-shirts, which I've been able to fund myself however, I have always wanted to create a beer glass because we're a podcast that's recorded; in a pub... It's a no brainer!

However, it's fucking expensive! You have to order a high minimum amount, and I also want quality glasses that are not shit.

The only way I can create these glasses is with your support; I'm looking to create 20.6oz glasses with the 'Punks in Pubs Podcast' logo on the front and "I'd Rather Be In A Pub With A Punk' on the back.

If you can, please support this project.

White Men In Capes26 May 202401:04:12

It's a special episode of Punks in Pubs!

On the back of the last episode with Matthew Medney, a comic book writer and the former CEO of the Heavy Metal franchise, Liam revisits his 2015 BBC radio documentary, "White Men In Capes." Originally pitched with a more provocative title!

The documentary explores the diversity, or lack thereof, within the comic book industry. Narrated by the renowned DJ Semtex, known for his work with Radio 1 and Radio 1 Xtra and his passion for comics, the documentary uniquely attempts to emulate the feel of a comic book through its storytelling.

Enjoy this unique blend of comic book culture and radio documentary as Punks in Pubs brings "White Men In Capes" to a new audience.

Kellie Nowell (The Nowell Family Foundation)14 Feb 202101:13:02

Episode 71 sees Liam speaking to Kellie Nowell, sister of the late great Bradley Nowell, singer of the legendary 90's reggae ska-punk band - Sublime.

Kellie is now the spearhead of the 'Nowell Family Foundation' that provides addiction recovery services to the music community.

The foundation is currently raising funds to open 'Bradley's House', a six-bed recovery facility that will provide treatment for people in the music industry with opioid addiction, regardless of their financial situation.

They have partnered with LAW Records and released The House that Bradley Built, a compilation album of Sublime covers. Go pick up a copy of the album via this link.

For the next two weeks, all profits from the sale of the 'Punks in Pubs' T-shirts will also go to support the foundation as well, so if you've been holding off on getting a T-shirt, now's the time to go pick one up. You can do that via this link or Google 'Punks In Pubs T-shirts Etsy'

You can expect Liam and Kellie to talk about the foundation (obviously) and the compilation album. Kellie opens up about life growing up with Bradley, their mutual love for music and his ability to hustle, but Kellie also discusses her anger at Bradley for not being around to tell the stories himself after passing away in 1996 from a heroin overdose.

In this episode, both Liam and Kellie speak openly about addiction, which might be difficult for some people to listen to. If any of the topics explored in this episode impact you, you can contact:
