For our 50th episode, we have an extra special guest who I was so honored to speak with: musical artist/harpist Mary Lattimore! Mary’s ethereal instrumental music, particularly her 2020 album Silver Ladders, was a cornerstone of my self-care in pregnancy, and I’ve been a massive fan ever since. Mary joined me virtually from her home in Los Angeles to discuss her favorite ways to build and nurture community and sustain inspiration in her artistry, the scoop on her favorite artist residencies, dreaming as a form of processing the nightmare that is the current political climate in the US, lucid dreaming, and oh so much more!

Emily Weiner’s paintings consider the art canon through a feminist and Jungian lens. By reconfiguring symbols that have been recycled throughout the history of art, her work questions how archetypal images are shared across generations — and how familiar symbols might be reordered to generate new, collective understanding. Weiner approaches each layer of her painting intuitively, and by working in many layers of paint, finds synchronicity in combinations of colors, forms, and symbols. She creates multimedia frames to further demarcate spaces of suspended disbelief in each of her paintings.

Welcome to the Season 1 finale of Psyche Magic! This episode features my dear friend and fellow Psychotherapist, Nat Roth. We also discuss IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy, or parts work), especially The Inner Child, as well as our own personal journeys with cultivating and tending the spark of creativity in our adult lives. Erin's Dream Method #2 (adapted from Carolyn Elliot's book Existential Kink)

1. Describe the dream in as much detail as possible

2. Translate - list each noun in the dream and translate it as if describing it to an alien

3. Write the Translated Story - subbing the descriptions for the nouns

4. Rhyme the Themes  - Jot down elements in your life that seem to metaphorically rhyme with the  themes of the story.

5. Sum it Up - Write at the top of a sheet of paper, “This dream is about…. On another level it’s  also about…. The thing I don’t want to let myself know is….. What I’ll take  from this dream is……”

Drawing from indie rock, folk, country, and pop influences, Neighbor’s music is a glittery fusion inspired by the Wizard of Oz, her Taurus rising, Nada Surf’s “Blonde on Blonde”, and Patsy Cline on vinyl.

Neighbor’s Nashville yellow brick road led her to tour managing outlaw country artist and “Highway Queen” Nikki Lane, who graciously gave her an acoustic set at the Stagecoach music festival in 2018. A few years later she managed Dualtone record label’s artist curated vinyl subscription service Magnolia Record Club. When the tornado of 2020 kicked off her Saturn return she found herself back in Ohio for a few years to reconnect. In 2022 she made her eventual return to music city with a fresh perspective and a desire to create. Recently she has been helping behind the curtain of the local non-profit Girls Write Nashville, launching her astrology business, and will be releasing new music in fall of 2024!
