- Defining chaos - the absence of a clear direction forward 
- Defining order - functioning in a manner that is predictable and consistent 

Dog training 
- Chaos - inconsistency, erratic behavior, nervousness 
- If your dog behaves in these manners, it is often because they are recieving unclear communication 
- Slow yourself down and clearly define to yourself what you want and then work to communicate that to your dog 
- Order - obedience, calm mannerisms, confidence 
- Walking the line of proper tension between these two is important for progress forward while not over stressing the dog 

In life 
- Chaos - if you feel chaotic in life, this will often reflect in your dog’s behavior. 
- The dog reflects the handler. This can be a huge blessing for those with eyes to see it. 
- Chaos can be scary, but it is also the place of opportunity. Learning to embrace the opportunity without disrupting the parts of your life that need to remain in order 
- Order - the consistently predictable. This is typically a comfortable place to be in life, but has the danger of becoming boring and stagnant. If you stay here too long, you often slide backward without realizing it. 
- Look for things that call to your attention and then make plans to engage with that while hedging for the possibility of failure in a particular direction.

Stop expecting people to like you

  • Conviction and passion are both divisive
  • It is OK to disagree with someone else, you can still be friends
  • It is OK if people don’t like you, it is unavoidable and not to be feared
• Most people water down their ideas thoughts and messages because they are afraid someone might not like it.
   
  • Often the messages and ideas that most help you and others are the ones you’re afraid to share
  • Being rejected hurts emotionally, but helping others is far better

Tactical Decision Making

- Why is it so important to make most tactical decisions ahead of time?
- Dangers of emotion based decisions - movies and tv
- You almost always make poor decisions in a tactical environment with emotions
- All tactical decisions have to be made with Logic and Reason with a determined goal in mind
- What is the goal of a tactical decision? Restore the area to safety, end the threat
- GOAL - End the threat NOT save your family or even yourself
- Why not save your family? Why not save yourself?
- If you can force your enemy to start making emotional decisions, you can almost always overcome them. Snipers, using dogs, surprise in general (value to intelligence)

Tactical Priorities - Actions on the Objective

• End the threat
   
  • When you are faced with a threat to you and/or your family, the priority is to end the threat as quickly as possible. 
• 
  
  • This DOES NOT mean killing anyone. It may, but that is not our goal. 
• 
  
  • You can not end a threat that is armed if you are disarmed. Pet peeve is people dropping weapons in movies and shows when bad guy has a gun to their head. What would you do? Decide now, not in that moment. 
• 
  
• Secure the area
   
  • Security is the art of identifying threats and weaknesses in defense and fixing them. 
• 
  
  • Security is always an ongoing thing. Most dangerous time in any operation is after the Objective has been cleared. You drop your guard, and thus your security. 
• 
  
  • As soon as you end the threat (Objective) you immediately start looking for the next threat. Does the bad guy have friends? You can always tell when someone is about to get hurt in a show because they start chatting while outside a safe zone. Always be aware of your surroundings, especially when there was just a high risk threat. 
• 
  
• Reconsolidate 
  • Do not stop to focus on a loss while the threat is still a threat!!!
  • Do not sacrifice security to help someone. Secure the area first!
  • What is Reconsolidating?
     
    • Immediately prepare to fight again. Reload, check anything that you had to use in your fight. Fix malfunctions, etc
  •  
    • Assist the wounded
  •  
    • Resupply as needed. Ammo, water, etc
  •  

Had a client come train with me last week with a male Malinois that is attacking people and is totally unsafe. Come to find out it has been trained in sport bite work with no stability. Fuck these trainers...in case you haven't figured it out yet, this is an epic rant and definitely E!

• Most of life’s disappointments are because we had expectations when we shouldn’t or had unrealistic expectations
   
  • Marriage - Focussing on the little things; Trying to change your spouse OR trying to change who you are (pretending for your spouse); failing to meet your own obligations because you are upset at your spouse; expectation that you can make your spouse happy (what they want is more important than what you want) AND VISA VERSA;

Threat Planning

• You can’t prepare for threats if you don’t plan for threats

• Evaluate what you need or any shortcomings you have to be able to successfully carry out your COAs. 
  
  
• Begin training, acquiring items you need, and preparing the site to accomplish the mission

Accept your circumstances for what they are

• Too many people spend their whole lives wishing their circumstances were different. This is a complete waste of time. 
• Accept your circumstances for what they are and then make a plan to change the things you can change. 
• Things you can change: location, employment, spouse, friends, attitude, outlook on life, gratitude, humility
• Things you can’t change: body type, body injuries or handicaps, family, politics, national and international relations
• Tactical application of this principle: wishing something was different in a fight will get you killed. You must have the attitude of acceptance and then adapting and overcoming whatever you must be accomplish the mission.
