Two quick show notes:

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Justin Magee, the creator of our theme song and one of the first and greatest supporters of the podcast.
  2. Just as a reminder - all stories, even the historical fiction, are works of the inner workers of the creators' minds.  Though some things may bear resemblance to reality, they are, most assuredly, not true portraitures or direct reflections of the real world.

"Bring 'Em Back X-20" Rerelease: Artists Supporting Artists Edition with Megan Tresca19 Feb 202100:13:56

I am rereleasing our sci-fi-tastic short story "Bring 'Em Back X-20" in celebration of the newest member of the Artists Supporting Artists family - Megan Tresca.

Megan Tresca is an artist from Rhode Island. She holds a BFA in Painting and MAT in Art and Design Education from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has spent the last two years teaching fine art at The Winchendon School in Massachusetts. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Connecticut. She's captivated by things cryptic and mysterious. Her work acts as an enigmatic scenario; whether it be magical or gruesome. The unknown is enticing and serves as a major catalyst in her work. It’s common for her to go in with some idea of a blueprint but often lets the work improvise and dictate itself and take on a life of its own. Sometimes she even abandons original plans altogether, and just lets the ebb and flow of the moment create the work. The body of her work ranges from mystical lightness to the dreary and dark; allowing her to explore the full spectrum of the human experience.

To check out some of Megan’s work , please follow Megan at @oldwelshwitch23 on Instagram. Follow her.  Like and share her images. Celebrate this dreamy artist with me!

Now, let's get back to resurrecting our lovers, shall we?

One major note I want to toss out is that this is actually a rather special show for another reason—today will mark the THREE HUNDREDTH story put out via the show. Now, I don’t count some of the specials and/or poems I’ve featured over the years, but, yeah.  This is a big deal, and I can’t begin to thank all of those that continue to support the show!

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" Speech20 Jun 202000:17:12

Hello, Prose listeners. Because I record as much as a month in advance, I’ve not been able to comment on the calls for justice going on in the US right now. It is most assuredly not my time to speak; therefore, I will post the all too often clipped “I Have a Dream Speech” by Martin Luther King, Junior in its entirety. Thank you to American Rhetoric for ensuring the world continues to have access to this shining example of humanity and a still powerful call for justice, a still necessary call for justice.
