| Season 5, Episode 13- Staying on Track in Social Situations | 08 Jul 2021 | 00:11:58 | |
One of the biggest challenges people face when trying to get healthy is how to stay on track during holidays, parties, and social situations. I spent the 4th of July with family and have a few lessons to share about socializing while on a carnivore diet (or any diet!) During my weekend at the cabin, I stayed carnivore the whole time. I brought my own food, and cooked all my own meals. Yes, I dealt with a lot of questions and comments about my food choices. In this episode I give you some tips on how to address the attention when you are eating differently than the rest of the group. I have three big tips for you on how to gracefully handle social situations while you are maintaining a special diet. Later in Season 5, I’ll be doing a Q&A episode. | Season 5, Episode 10- Correcting Constipation on Carnivore | 15 Jun 2021 | 00:47:56
Fear of constipation is the number one reason I hear people say they don’t want to try carnivore. In this episode I share 6 tips for getting yourself to go to the bathroom when you are feeling constipated. This definitely applies to carnivores, but can also help people who eat any other diet too. Pooping, along with sweating, breathing, and urinating, is one of your channels of elimination. If you are not eliminating through these different channels on a regular basis, you become overly toxic and end up feeling worse. Opening up the channels of elimination is one of the most important steps to health. It helps with weight loss, estrogen dominance, puffiness, mood problems, digestive issues, skin rashes, and so much more. | Season 5, Episode 8- Carnivore Myth Busters | 26 May 2021 | 00:32:07
You’ve heard that you have to eat fiber in order to poop. But is that actually true? In this episode I bust 6 different carnivore myths that often hold people back from starting or trying a carnivore diet. I address the controversy of organ meats, the expense of eating carnivore, pooping, loosing periods, needing variety in food, and struggling with starting out underweight. The real magic in busting myths is YOU. It’s all about your experience and listening to your own body. I share my perspective on all these myths, but once you try carnivore for a period of time (at least a month, but please try it longer!) you will be able to work through a lot of these common questions and discover the truth for your body. | Season 5, Episode 7- Carnivore Dogma | 19 May 2021 | 00:24:24
Are you buying into all the dogma?
Lately I’ve been seeing a trend of arguments and judgement on social media in the carnivore community. I see a lot of extreme opinions around organ meats, grass-fed vs. conventional meat, staying on carnivore forever, hatred of supplements, and judgment on people who choose to reintroduce plant foods. In this episode I help you learn how to see through the dogma and take charge of your own body. You need to be the boss of your life and stop allowing others to tell you exactly what is right for you. This applies to diet, politics, finances, relationships, etc… If you find it difficult to know what to believe and you truly need help with your health, then yes! It is challenging to know who is right and wrong. The truth is everyone is different and there is never going to be a one size fits all diet. You must do your own research, listen to your intuition, learn from a variety of experts, and pay attention to what works for you and what doesn’t. Later in Season 5, I’ll be doing a Q&A episode. | Season 5, Episode 5- Carnivore Road Trip Part 1 | 03 May 2021 | 00:31:09
I drove 3,000 miles and ate carnivore the whole time.
Believe it or not, I actually cooked all our meals in the hotel room… except for one lunch at a seafood restaurant that was a big mistake. I’ll tell you all about it in the episode. Some days we were driving for 12 hours, other days we hiked or played at the beach, and some days we were in a big hotel ballroom room attending a Cellcore Biosciences conference for continuing education. | Season 5, Episode 4- Fasting on Carnivore | 12 Apr 2021 | 00:21:12
Should you still incorporate fasting if you are on a carnivore diet?
I had the same question when I first started carnivore. I used to fast about 16 hours every day and I would rotate in a 24 hour fast once a week or so. When I started carnivore, I tried to keep up with the fasting and felt terrible! It’s one of the reasons I quit carnivore in the first place. In this episode I share when, how and why I incorporate fasting into my routine while on a carnivore diet. My fasting schedule definitely looks different now! I fast differently depending on the week of my cycle, how much fat or protein I’m eating, and if I’m eating any non-carnivore foods. Later in Season 5, I’ll be doing a Q&A episode. | Season 5, Episode 3- Guide to Sourcing the Healthiest Meat | 06 Apr 2021 | 00:18:17
Choosing high quality meat from regenerative farms is one of the most important aspects of the carnivore diet. In this episode you’ll learn what regenerative farming is and why you would want to source your meat from one of those farms. You’ll learn what questions to ask the butcher or farmer before purchasing beef, lamb, chicken, and pork. It is true that some carnivores ignore meat quality and even order ground beef patties from McDonalds! Listen to the episode to understand why this isn’t good for our planet or for our bodies. Click the button below to get a quick start guide to sourcing meat. Print out the PDF and bring it to the grocery store so you can reference it when talking with the butcher. Do sugar alcohols give you gas, bloating, diarrhea, or stomach pain?
Most people have these symptoms on either a mild or extreme scale when they eat erythritol, xylitol, sorbitol, or any other sugar alcohol. Sugar alcohols create fermentation in our intestines that creates gas. It can be painful in your belly and cause very foul smelling gas in some people.
