Ava was diagnosed withĀ retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer, which resulted in her losing her eye. Vicki opens up about their familyās journey through Avaās diagnosis and treatment, and what life has been like for their incredibly brave little girl. We sit down withĀ Lloyd Griffiths, who tells us about his 14-year-old son,Ā Ethan, and the battle with cancer that Ethan and his family are currently facing. Lloyd was completely open with us about their journey from the moment they first realised something wasnāt right, through Ethanās diagnosis, treatment, and the reality of what happens to an entire family when their world is suddenly turned upside down. ItāsĀ honest, emotional and incredibly raw. When Dean and Lee started this podcast, we said we wanted to shareĀ real-life stories. We love having a laugh and hopefully thereāll be plenty more belly laughs along the way but not every story in real life is funny. Some stories deserve to simply be heard. And Ethanās is one of them. The courage shown byĀ Ethan, Lloyd and their entire familyĀ throughout something no family should ever have to experience is genuinely inspiring. They are absolute heroes in our eyes.
