| AEW WrestleDream 2026 Review: Bad Build, Brilliant PPV! | Shut Up Forever | 20 Oct 2026 | 02:31:20 | |
AEW WrestleDream 2026 had a questionable build, some baffling creative decisions, and a card that didn't exactly scream must-see pay-per-view. And then the wrestling started. Somehow, AEW delivered another outstanding show. HOW DO THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS?! Professor Degree, Blade Daily, and Kendra Omega join forces for another Shut Up Forever, the crossover between Sit Down Shut Up Mark Out and Pro Wrestling Forever, to review WrestleDream 2026 and ask an increasingly familiar question: Can incredible wrestling keep making up for inconsistent storytelling? We're breaking down the biggest moments, surprises, and matches from a wildly entertaining night, including:
Plus, we explore AEW's remarkable ability to produce excellent pay-per-views regardless of the build, the difference between great matches and great storytelling, and whether the company's extraordinary roster is both its greatest strength and its biggest creative challenge. It's three longtime wrestling fans celebrating everything that makes professional wrestling wonderful while occasionally wondering whether anyone is actually in charge. We love. We laugh. We babble. And apparently, we never learn. ABOUT SHUT UP FOREVER Shut Up Forever brings together Sit Down Shut Up Mark Out and Pro Wrestling Forever for special crossover episodes celebrating the best, worst, and most wonderfully absurd aspects of professional wrestling. Both shows are part of Jobber Underground, an independent pro wrestling podcast network covering AEW, NJPW, STARDOM, ROH, wrestling history, and the wonderful absurdity of professional wrestling. | They Live (1988): Roddy Piper, John Carpenter & the Greatest Sunglasses Fight Ever | 15 Oct 2026 | 01:46:41
We've come here to chew bubblegum and talk about movies... and we're all out of bubblegum. Spooky Season has arrived at Pro Wrestling Forever! Professor Degree and Blade Daily welcome Jeff from the Skewered Universe Podcast for a special crossover episode celebrating John Carpenter's 1988 cult classic They Live, starring the legendary "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Part science-fiction horror, part political satire, and part gloriously ridiculous '80s action movie, They Live follows an unemployed drifter who discovers that alien overlords have secretly infiltrated society, using advertising and mass media to keep humanity obedient. We're digging into Carpenter's anti-consumerist message, the film's fascinating behind-the-scenes stories, Piper's surprisingly excellent performance, and, of course, one of the most absurdly entertaining fight scenes in movie history. Along the way, we ask some very important questions:
It's horror fandom meets wrestling history, with plenty of nostalgia, questionable observations, and an unreasonable amount of affection for a movie about punching aliens in the face. OBEY. CONSUME. MARK OUT. ABOUT PRO WRESTLING FOREVER Hosted by Professor Degree and Blade Daily, Pro Wrestling Forever celebrates the history, personalities, unforgettable moments, and glorious absurdity of professional wrestling. From the territories to the modern era, we explore the sport we love with knowledge, nostalgia, humor, and absolutely no shortage of opinions. This special episode features Jeff from the Skewered Universe Podcast, bringing the worlds of horror cinema and professional wrestling together. Pro Wrestling Forever is part of the Jobber Underground podcast network, celebrating professional wrestling in all its wonderful absurdity. Enjoyed the episode? | WCW Halloween Havoc 1989 Review: Flair, Sting, Funk, Muta & Absolute Chaos | 07 Oct 2026 | 01:44:00
Professor Degree and Blade Daily welcome Books and Bodyslams for a trip back to WCW Halloween Havoc 1989 — a show Books has never seen from an era of WCW she’s never experienced. And what an introduction. Ric Flair & Sting battle Terry Funk & The Great Muta inside the ridiculous Thunderdome with Bruno Sammartino as special guest referee. The Steiner Brothers meet Doom for the first time. The Road Warriors collide with the Skyscrapers. A young Brian Pillman challenges Lex Luger. The Dynamic Dudes arrive to the delight of absolutely no one. There’s also The Cuban Assassin on PPV, babyface Midnight Express, an extremely Philadelphia crowd and Tommy Rich’s deeply unfortunate choice of ring gear. Is Halloween Havoc ’89 actually good? Well…yes. Ish. Sometimes. We break down the entire card, the matches that still hold up, the wonderfully strange world of late-’80s WCW and what Books thinks of seeing it all for the first time. Pro Wrestling Forever is a celebration of wrestling history — the classics, the forgotten gems and all the wonderfully weird stuff in between. | Remembering PAC: The Matches, Moments & Brilliance of Benjamin Satterley | 30 Sep 2026 | 02:27:04
This was supposed to be our AEW All Out 2026 review. But after the sudden passing of Benjamin Satterley — known around the world as PAC and, earlier in his career, Neville — that show could wait. Professor Degree and Blade Daily come together to remember one of the greatest professional wrestlers of his generation: the matches that made us fans, the moments we'll never forget, and the almost unbelievable technical brilliance, athleticism and intensity that made PAC unlike anyone else. From his years on the UK independents and Dragon Gate to WWE, AEW and the Death Riders, we look back at the career of a wrestler who seemed capable of doing absolutely anything inside a ring. But this isn't really a career retrospective. The news is too fresh for that. It's friends gathering to talk about a wrestler who gave us countless hours of joy. It's sharing memories, appreciating the work he left behind, and trying to put into words what Benjamin Satterley meant to us as wrestling fans. No rankings. No grand historical perspective. Just a celebration of PAC — his matches, his moments, his brilliance, and the memories we'll carry with us. Rest well, PAC. | The Most Beautiful Wrestling Championship Belts Ever: WWE, WCW, AEW, NJPW & More | 23 Sep 2026 | 02:18:34
What is the most beautiful championship belt in professional wrestling history? Professor Degree and special guest Kurt Jangle are opening the championship belt vault and judging wrestling gold on one thing: how damn good it looks. From universally beloved classics like the WCW Big Gold Belt, WWF Winged Eagle Championship and NWA “Ten Pounds of Gold” to the white-strap Intercontinental Championship, IWGP Heavyweight V4 and some considerably deeper cuts, we're celebrating the artistry behind wrestling's greatest prizes. Along the way, we dig into the history, designers and stories behind championships from WWE, WCW, AEW, NJPW, NWA, ROH, AWA, CWA and NXT — including classic territory belts, modern masterpieces and a few choices that may require some explaining. Which belt looked like it belonged around the waist of the most important wrestler in the world? Which designs have aged beautifully? And which underrated pieces of championship gold deserve a lot more love? It's wrestling history, belt-maker nerdery and extremely strong opinions about gold plates attached to leather. | The Aristocrat: From Buddy Rogers & Ric Flair to MJF | Wrestling Archetypes | 16 Sep 2026 | 01:14:12
For more than 70 years, professional wrestling has been home to one particularly enduring character: the rich, arrogant, impeccably dressed heel who is absolutely certain he’s better than you. Professor Degree and Blade Daily continue their exploration of pro wrestling archetypes with The Aristocrat. From “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers establishing a template that would influence generations, to Ric Flair transforming wealth, style and superiority into an art form, to MJF bringing that same sneering arrogance into modern wrestling, the fellas trace how the archetype has evolved across wrestling history. Where did the Aristocrat gimmick begin? What separates an Aristocrat from your garden-variety wrestling jerk? Why has the character remained so effective for generations? And who did it best? Grab your finest robe, pour yourself something unnecessarily expensive, and join us for another trip through wrestling history. | Beyond the Mat Revisited: Terry Funk, Mick Foley & Jake Roberts 27 Years Later | 09 Sep 2026 | 01:59:55
Does Beyond the Mat still hold up 27 years later? Professor Degree and Blade Daily revisit Barry Blaustein’s landmark 1999 professional wrestling documentary and discover that Terry Funk was only 53 when they originally watched him and thought he was approximately 900 years old. This development has caused considerable distress. The fellas revisit the unforgettable stories of Terry Funk, Mick Foley, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Droz, along with Dennis Stamp, Michael Modest, Tony Jones, Roland Alexander, New Jack, Paul Heyman and the strange collection of wrestlers and wrestling personalities Blaustein captured at wildly different stages of their careers. How differently does Jake Roberts’ story hit knowing what came afterward? Is Mick Foley’s infamous Royal Rumble 1999 match with The Rock harder to watch today? Does knowing Droz’s future completely change his scenes? And, as middle-aged wrestling fans themselves, do Professor Degree and Blade Daily finally understand Terry Funk a little better? Then comes the bigger question: is Beyond the Mat still special? In 1999, genuine backstage access to WWF, ECW and independent wrestling felt almost forbidden. Today, wrestling fans are surrounded by podcasts, shoot interviews, social media, documentaries and behind-the-scenes content. Has 25+ years of wrestling pulling back its own curtain diminished what made Beyond the Mat extraordinary — or does Blaustein’s deeply human approach make the film even more remarkable today? Plus: a celebration of the late Barry Blaustein, the lasting legacy of one of professional wrestling’s most important documentaries and, obviously, Dennis Stamp. He’s not booked. | AEW All In 2026: An All-Time Classic & the Rise of Will Ospreay | 01 Sep 2026 | 02:00:27
Did we just watch the night that changed AEW forever? For this special SHUT UP FOREVER, Professor Degree, Blade Daily, and Books and Bodyslams bring Pro Wrestling Forever and Sit Down Shut Up Mark Out together to look back at an extraordinary All In 2026 — and ask where it belongs among the greatest shows in AEW history. The defining moment came at the top of the card, where Will Ospreay finally defeated Kenny Omega to become AEW World Champion. After years of their careers intersecting, was this the moment Omega officially passed the torch and Ospreay became the new ace of All Elite Wrestling? Wembley had plenty more history to make. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. returned. Austin Creed and Kofi arrived as The New Level. Mercedes Moné defeated Willow Nightingale to capture the AEW Women's World Championship. Andrade continued his remarkable resurgence, Darby Allin and Kevin Knight attempted to destroy each other, and Kazuchika Okada added another championship to his legendary résumé. Professor, Blade, and Books break down the matches, surprises, returns and wonderfully ridiculous moments from Wembley — but they also take the longer view. What did All In tell us about where AEW has been, where it's going, and the stars who will define its next era? Because great wrestling shows give us something to talk about the next morning. The truly special ones give us something to argue about for the next 20 years. This is SHUT UP FOREVER: AEW All In 2026. | Who Belongs in the AEW Hall of Fame? | Sting, Kenny Omega & the Inaugural Class | 26 Aug 2026 | 01:20:34
AEW doesn't have a Hall of Fame…so naturally, Pro Wrestling Forever decided to build one. Professor Degree and Blade Daily sit down to answer a deceptively complicated question: What should an AEW Hall of Fame actually look like? Before anybody gets a plaque, the fellas have to make the rules. When should the Hall of Fame open? Does a wrestler need to be retired? How much of someone's career needs to have happened in AEW? Should accomplishments in NJPW, ROH, CMLL and other promotions count? And should Ring of Honor have its own Hall of Fame entirely? Then comes the fun part: who actually gets in? Sting and Mr. Brodie Lee present very different but compelling cases. Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Hangman Page and Hikaru Shida helped define AEW's history. Cody Rhodes helped create the company—but left. Jay Briscoe never wrestled an AEW match. And then there's the wonderfully uncomfortable question of CM Punk. Plus: tag teams and factions, contributors like Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross, the danger of inducting too many people too quickly, and the future stars already building first-ballot résumés. By the end, Professor Degree and Blade must stop arguing long enough to establish the rules and choose their inaugural AEW Hall of Fame class. Because wrestling history is serious business. Even when the Hall of Fame we're arguing about doesn't exist. | How AEW Can Make Pro Wrestling Feel More Like a Real Sport | 19 Aug 2026 | 01:19:57
AEW has always wanted professional wrestling to feel a little more like a real sport. But what would happen if they took that idea even further? This week on Pro Wrestling Forever, Professor Degree and Blade Daily look at AEW's sports-like presentation and ask what the company could borrow from baseball, football and other sports to create deeper history, traditions and lore. Remember AEW's win-loss records and rankings? Those were only the beginning. What about career records and all-time statistical leaders? Baseball fans know the legends who lead in home runs, hits, strikeouts and wins because those numbers turn history into mythology. Could professional wrestling do the same? The fellas brainstorm the statistics AEW could actually track: career victories, championship wins, successful title defenses, tournament records, winning streaks, main-event appearances, submission victories and more. Imagine an AEW World Champion entering a match one defense away from an all-time record. Or a wrestler entering the Continental Classic with the most tournament victories in company history. Suddenly, matches from five or ten years ago aren't just old results — they're part of an ongoing record book. And statistics are only one piece of the conversation. Professor Degree and Blade explore the traditions, milestones, presentation choices and historical touchstones AEW could establish today to give future generations of fans their own wrestling mythology. Because wrestling history isn't just remembering what happened. It's giving fans a reason to argue about it forever. Pro Wrestling Forever is a celebration of wrestling history, fandom and all the wonderfully weird details that make professional wrestling worth obsessing over. | Transitional Champions: Wrestling’s Most Famous Temporary Kings | 12 Aug 2026 | 01:14:16
What exactly is a transitional champion? It’s one of pro wrestling’s most commonly used terms—and one of its most commonly misused. This week on Pro Wrestling Forever, Professor Degree and Blade Daily dig into the history of transitional champions: wrestlers who won a championship because their real job was to get that belt from one person to another. And no, “he had a short title reign” doesn’t automatically count. From Stan Stasiak and Ivan Koloff to Sgt. Slaughter, Raven and plenty more, the fellas examine some of wrestling history’s most famous temporary kings. Why were they chosen? Who were they replacing? Who was waiting on the other side? And which supposed transitional champions don’t actually fit the definition at all? Along the way, we travel through WWE/WWF, WCW, ECW and decades of wrestling history to figure out how promoters have used transitional champions—and why some seemingly forgettable title reigns were actually crucial pieces of much bigger stories. 🏆 What really defines a transitional champion? 📼 Who are the best examples in wrestling history? ⏳ Does the length of a title reign even matter? 🤔 And have wrestling fans used the term so loosely that it’s starting to lose all meaning? Professor Degree and Blade Daily have the championship lineage, historical context, strong opinions, and an entirely reasonable amount of concern about Stan Stasiak’s nine-day WWWF Championship reign. It’s Pro Wrestling Forever: celebrating wrestling history, one wonderfully weird detour at a time. | Bash at the Beach 1996: Hulk Hogan's Heel Turn & the Birth of the nWo | Pro Wrestling Forever | 05 Aug 2026 | 02:06:42
Few moments in wrestling history changed the industry like WCW Bash at the Beach 1996. Professor Degree, Blade Daily, and special guest Books and Bodyslams revisit the legendary pay-per-view that gave us Hollywood Hogan, the birth of the New World Order (nWo), and one of the greatest heel turns professional wrestling has ever seen. Three decades later, does Hulk Hogan's shocking betrayal still hold up? Why did the Third Man storyline capture the imagination of wrestling fans around the world? And how did one leg drop reshape the Monday Night Wars, WCW, and modern professional wrestling? The crew breaks down the entire event, revisits the iconic main event featuring Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Randy Savage, Lex Luger, and Sting, and celebrates the strange, wonderful, occasionally ridiculous magic that made mid-'90s WCW unforgettable. If you love wrestling history, classic WCW, the nWo, Hulk Hogan, the Monday Night Wars, and deep dives into the biggest moments in professional wrestling, this episode is for you. Topics include:

| AEW Redemption Review: Did AEW Finally Build a Great Road to All In? | 29 Jul 2026 | 02:39:24 | |
AEW has often been accused of letting incredible matches do the heavy lifting while the road to pay-per-views struggles to find focus. Did Redemption change that? Blade Daily is joined by Pippin and Shane G from Ethos Media to review every match from AEW Redemption through the lens of storytelling. Which matches meaningfully advanced the journey to AEW All In, and which ones simply delivered excellent wrestling without moving the larger narrative forward? The panel discusses Kenny Omega's surprising decision to attack Will Ospreay after Ospreay came to his aid, Willow Nightingale's championship victory, Maya World's meteoric rise, the growing instability within the Death Riders and Don Callis Family, and whether AEW has finally regained its long-form storytelling rhythm. Topics include: • Complete AEW Redemption review • Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay storyline analysis • Willow Nightingale's title victory • Maya World's breakout performance • Jon Moxley and the future of the Death Riders • Kyle Fletcher and the International Championship picture • Which stories are strongest heading into AEW All In? | What If Sting Was the Third Man? Rewriting WCW, the nWo & Wrestling History | 15 Jul 2026 | 01:05:41
What if Sting had been revealed as the Third Man instead of Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach 1996? In this episode of Pro Wrestling Forever, Professor Degree and Blade Daily return to Into the Wrestleverse to tackle one of the greatest "what if?" scenarios in professional wrestling history. Could Sting have led the New World Order? Would the nWo have become an even bigger cultural phenomenon, or would it have fizzled out before changing the industry? And how would Hogan, WCW, and the Monday Night Wars have been rewritten? The hosts explore what likely would have happened, debate what should have happened, and follow the ripple effects across WCW, the WWF, and wrestling history as a whole. | Ready to Rumble Revisited: Does WCW's Cult Classic Deserve More Respect? | Pro Wrestling Forever | 08 Jul 2026 | 01:04:24
Twenty-five years after its release, Ready to Rumble remains one of the most divisive movies in professional wrestling history. Was it an unfairly maligned comedy that genuinely celebrated wrestling fandom, or did it become an unfortunate symbol of WCW's final days? Professor Degree and Blade Daily revisit the 2000 cult classic starring David Arquette, Scott Caan, and Oliver Platt, discussing Jimmy King's unforgettable journey, the parade of WCW superstar cameos, the outrageous Triple Cage finale, and whether the film still holds up today. The crew also explores the movie's lasting legacy, including its connection to David Arquette's controversial WCW World Heavyweight Championship reign and the persistent myth that Ready to Rumble "killed" WCW. Featuring the Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage) against the Mega Bucks (Ted DiBiase and André the Giant), the inaugural SummerSlam helped establish what would become one of WWE's signature annual events. But nearly four decades later, does the show still hold up? Which matches feel timeless? Which moments are unmistakably products of the late-1980s wrestling boom? Adding a unique perspective, Books and Bodyslams watches SummerSlam 1988 for the very first time, giving a modern fan's reaction to a card many longtime fans consider a classic. Join us as we revisit WWF history, explore the legacy of the Mega Powers era, and discuss what still works—and what doesn't—when viewed through today's lens. Pro Wrestling Forever celebrates wrestling history across every era, from the territorial days to the modern scene. Whether you're a lifelong fan of classic wrestling, vintage WWF, WCW, NWA, ECW, ROH, AEW, NJPW, or you're discovering these legendary events for the first time, this is the podcast for wrestling fans who love the past, present, and future of professional wrestling. | What If Ric Flair Joined WWF in 1988? | Into the Wrestleverse #1 | 03 Jun 2026 | 01:05:17
Welcome to the debut episode of Into the Wrestleverse, a new Pro Wrestling Forever series where Professor Degree and Blade Daily explore the biggest alternate-history scenarios in professional wrestling. This episode tackles one of the most fascinating "what if?" questions ever discussed by wrestling fans: What if Ric Flair had left Jim Crockett Promotions and debuted in WWF at SummerSlam 1988? With Ted Turner's purchase of JCP looming later that year, a move by Flair could have dramatically altered the future of the wrestling business. Would WCW ever have been created? What happens to Sting, Lex Luger, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, and the Four Horsemen? Could Hulk Hogan's WWF have become even more dominant, or would Flair have changed the company's direction entirely? Join us as we trace the ripple effects across wrestling history, classic wrestling, the NWA, WWF, WCW, WrestleMania, the Monday Night Wars, and beyond. If you love wrestling nostalgia, fantasy booking, deep analysis, wrestling trivia, and exploring how one decision can reshape an entire industry, this is an episode you won't want to miss. | Battle Royals, Briefcases, Tournaments & Title Shots | 20 May 2026 | 01:12:29
On this episode of Pro Wrestling Forever, Professor Degree and Blade Daily dive into one of wrestling’s most overused — and most beloved — storytelling devices: the guaranteed title shot match. From the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank to the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Casino Gauntlet, King of the Ring, G1 Climax, and beyond, wrestling promotions constantly rely on stipulations designed to instantly create contenders and reshape championship scenes. But do these matches still feel exciting when the pool of believable winners keeps shrinking? Has modern wrestling accidentally trained fans to predict outcomes weeks in advance? The fellas explore which stipulations still feel prestigious, which ones feel creatively exhausted, and whether wrestling can ever restore genuine suspense to these career-defining matches. Along the way: classic wrestling nostalgia, tournament history, unhinged tangents, and the usual Pro Wrestling Forever sickness. No masters. No gatekeepers. Just wrestling fandom. | The Wrestler (1974): Verne Gagne’s Beautiful Bald Territory Fever Dream | 13 May 2026 | 01:26:24
Professor Degree and Blade Daily take a deep dive into one of the strangest artifacts in wrestling history: The Wrestler (1974), starring Verne Gagne and Ed Asner. No, not the Mickey Rourke movie. The original. The territory-era wrestling film packed with sweaty locker rooms, aging wrestlers refusing to retire, impossible levels of baldness, and cameos from legends like Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Superstar Billy Graham, and Vince McMahon Sr.. The fellas break down the movie itself, the reality of territory wrestling, the mythology of “one last run,” and why old-school wrestling films feel simultaneously completely authentic and completely insane. From classic wrestling nostalgia and wrestling history to bizarre wrestling cinema and vintage territory culture, this episode of Pro Wrestling Forever celebrates the weirdness, passion, vanity, and immortality complex at the heart of pro wrestling fandom. No Masters. No Gatekeepers. No. Holds. Barred. From legendary groups that defined entire eras to bizarre disasters that collapsed under their own weight, the fellas break down what separates immortal wrestling factions from total chaos. AEW, NJPW, WCW, WWF, ECW, ROH, and more are all on the table as they debate iconic groups, forgotten favorites, and the members who completely derailed otherwise great stables. Which factions ended at the perfect time? Which ones overstayed their welcome? And which groups vanished before they could become legendary? Along the way, Degree and Blade discuss wrestling fandom, storytelling, credibility, nostalgia, and why factions remain one of the most important tools in professional wrestling. No gatekeeping.
