| Adult Friendships: Finding Your People & Navigating Changing Seasons | 15 Oct 2026 | 00:24:28 | |
Making friends as an adult can be HARD! And keeping those friendships going when you're juggling kids, work, marriage, activities and all the things? Sometimes even harder. 😂 This week on Praise, Prayer & Protein, we're chatting all about adult friendships! How to find your people, how friendships change through different seasons of life and some of my favourite little hacks for staying connected when life gets busy. I'm sharing a little bit of my own friendship story, from summer camp and university to being a lonely young mom in a new city, and how much having good friends and community has meant to me over the years. We're talking about everything from inviting someone to a moms' group, grocery shopping with your girlfriends, sending that random encouraging text, my Friends' Favourites Notes app hack and why not every friend needs to fill every role in your life. Because here's something I've learned: Not every friendship will look the same, and that's okay! ❤️ Some friendships last decades, some change with the seasons and some are built around the things we're doing right now. But there's something really special about having people to walk through life with. Come hang out with me on The Back Corner Podcast! 🎙️ I've had the pleasure of joining Brent Ingersoll and AJ Thomas on The Back Corner Podcast THREE times now! We always have so much fun, and I'd love for you to check out our conversations.
Let's stay connected! ❤️ If you're new here and found me through Praise, Prayer & Protein, I'd LOVE for you to stick around! I'm a mom of 7 sharing simple meal planning, family life, faith, encouragement and all the fun (and sometimes chaotic 😂) things that come with raising a big family. Come follow along! And if this episode made you think of a friend you haven't connected with in a while, maybe today is the day to send that text! ❤️
| Mic’d Up with Mom: Thanksgiving Edition! | 08 Oct 2026 | 00:23:25 | |
This week on Praise, Prayer & Protein, I’m doing something a little different and bringing some of my boys on for a Mic’d Up with Mom: Thanksgiving Edition! We’re talking Thanksgiving Would You Rathers, their favourite foods, the traditions they hope we always keep and what Thanksgiving at our house actually looks like. One of my favourite parts of Thanksgiving is how much of our meal has come right from home over the years. We’ve dug our own potatoes and carrots from the garden and some years we’ve even raised the chicken that ended up on our Thanksgiving table. There’s something really special about watching your kids harvest food and then sitting around the table enjoying it together. ❤️ But my favourite part of this episode might be hearing what everyone is grateful for RIGHT NOW. Not just the big answers we automatically give when someone asks what we’re thankful for, but the little things that are bringing us joy in this particular season. For me, it’s quiet mornings with my devotional books and hot coffee, beautiful pink skies, the changing leaves, pickleball with family and new friends, and everything God has been teaching me as we walk through Psalm 23 at church. Gratitude doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes we just need to slow down long enough to NOTICE what's already good. So grab a coffee and come hang out with us for a very real, probably slightly chaotic, Thanksgiving episode. 😂❤️ And maybe around your own Thanksgiving table this weekend, ask everyone: What are five things you're grateful for RIGHT NOW? Happy Thanksgiving, friends! 🍂
| Finding Your Identity In Motherhood | 01 Oct 2026 | 00:22:11 | |
Have you ever looked at something your child is struggling with and immediately wondered…did I do something wrong? This week on Praise, Prayer & Protein, we’re talking about insecurity in motherhood and where we find our identity when things with our kids don’t look exactly how we thought they would. This has been something I’ve personally struggled with this season, especially as I’m learning to parent teenagers and young adults who are becoming more independent and making more of their own decisions. I’m sharing a little bit about why I almost didn’t come back for Season 2, the insecurity I’ve felt recording some of these episodes and something I’m learning over and over again: Our children are not our report cards. Their struggles don’t automatically mean we’ve failed. Their successes aren’t what make us good moms. And our identity can’t be wrapped up in how our kids behave, what they accomplish or what other people think about them. A few years ago during a really difficult season with anxiety, I started journaling and wrote: “I have a choice to change the way I have been thinking about my life and my calling.” I started replacing some of the thoughts in my head with truth from Scripture, and these are some of the “I am” statements I wrote down. I AM... I am equipped. I am loved. I am valued. I am joyful. I am thankful. I am patient. I am gentle. I am kind. I am loving. I am blessed. I can walk in peace. I am content. I am hospitable. I am God’s daughter. I am a light. I am holy. Save these. Write down the ones you need right now. Put them somewhere you’ll see them. And the next time that mom guilt starts telling you that you’re failing because something with your kids isn’t going according to plan, come back to what is TRUE. Motherhood is a huge part of who we are, but it isn’t where our identity comes from. ❤️ Our children are not our report cards.
| Praying for our kids | 24 Sep 2026 | 00:21:38 | |
There’s something about September and getting back into routines that always gets me back into the habit of intentionally praying for each one of my kids. ❤️ This week on Praise, Prayer & Protein, we’re talking all about praying for our kids and how it doesn’t have to be complicated! I’m sharing how I use a simple notebook to pray specifically for each of my 7 kids, some of the things I pray for them in different seasons, and the Scriptures and promises from God’s Word that I come back to over and over again. Because as our kids get older, there is SO much we can’t control. We can’t be everywhere they are, make every decision for them or protect them from every hard thing but we CAN pray for them. 🙏🏻 And I want to make it really easy for you to start too! In the show notes you’ll find:
Whether your kids are heading off to Grade 1, high school, university or you’re a grandma praying for your grandkids, I hope this episode encourages you to start right where you are.
| The Back-to-School Rhythms That Keep Our Family of 9 Running | 17 Sep 2026 | 00:25:38 | |
Back to school means back to ROUTINES 🙌🏻 And with 9 people living in our house, things just run so much better when everyone knows what’s expected of them. This week I’m sharing some of the simple rhythms that help our house run a little smoother. Our morning routine, what happens when the kids get home, packing lunches the night before, chores, family suppers and even the expectation contracts we made with our kids this year. Are we perfect at any of this? Absolutely not. 😂 But I’ve learned that when everyone knows what they’re responsible for, I don’t have to be the one remembering EVERYTHING. And really, that’s the goal. We all live here, so we all get to help take care of our home. ❤️ A few questions to think about for your own family:
You don’t need a perfect schedule or a giant overhaul. Sometimes you just need everyone to know, “This is what we do.”
| The Summer That Didn’t Go According to Plan | Season 2 Is Here! | 10 Sep 2026 | 00:23:33 | |
Season 2 of Praise, Prayer & Protein is HERE! 🎉 When we wrapped up Season 1, I was heading into summer with plans, rhythms, adventures, and so much excitement for the months ahead. And then…my summer took a very unexpected turn. In this episode, I’m sharing the story of going from a fun lake day with family and friends to riding in an ambulance less than 30 minutes later, finding out I had gallstones, spending several days in the hospital, and eventually having my gallbladder removed. I’m talking about the friends and family who showed up, the sweet 80-year-old hospital roommate who felt like a gift from God, learning to accept help, recovering in the middle of a house renovation, and figuring out how to still enjoy summer when things looked completely different than I had planned. And somehow, even with surgery, restrictions, changed plans, and a whole lot of chaos we still had such a GOOD summer. I’m also sharing some exciting news: I’m one of more than 100 speakers taking part in the Get Organized HQ Virtual Organizing Event, happening September 14–19! It’s completely FREE, and my 20-minute session is all about 12 Habits of Meal Planning to help make feeding your family easier.
Here’s to Season 2, fall routines, plans held with open hands, and finding joy even when life doesn’t go according to plan. 🤍

| The Summer That Changed My Life | Why I Still Believe in Camp Ministry | 26 May 2026 | 00:13:46 | |
This week I’m sharing why summer camp has always held such a special place in my heart ❤️ As a little girl, church camp was the highlight of my summer — swimming, crafts, chapel, camp songs, muddy obstacle courses, cabin laughs, and friendships I looked forward to all year long. What I didn’t realize then was that while I was busy having fun seeds of faith were being planted in my heart. Years later, after drifting far from those childhood lessons, God used camp ministry to completely change the direction of my life. And now, getting to come back years later and volunteer at Caton’s Island has felt so full circle for me. In this episode I’m sharing: You truly never know what seeds are being planted in a child’s life ❤️ If camp ministry has ever touched your life in some way, I would LOVE to hear your story. Sickness in a house full of kids is… inevitable 🤍 And if you’re anything like me, it used to bring on so much stress and anxiety — especially when plans had to be cancelled and everything felt out of control. In today’s episode, I’m sharing what happened in our home right before Easter break when the stomach bug made its way through our family one by one… and how differently I handled it this time. We’re talking about: This episode is real life, practical encouragement, and a reminder that you’re not doing anything wrong when sickness takes over your home. | Staying Connected in Marriage While Raising Kids | 16 Mar 2026 | 00:16:52
Last week’s episode about mom rage sparked so many honest messages from moms who felt seen and encouraged — thank you to everyone who reached out and shared your stories. If you haven’t listened yet, I would encourage you to go back and give it a listen. This week we’re shifting the conversation to something that often gets overlooked in busy family life: our marriages. When you’re raising kids, managing schedules, and juggling all the responsibilities of family life, it’s easy for your relationship to slip into the background. But strong families are built on strong marriages. In this episode I’m sharing how Micah and I stay connected through different seasons of life — from when our kids were little and bedtime meant couch conversations, to now with older kids and busy schedules where sometimes connection looks like a Costco run together. I also talk about the Alpha Marriage Course, why investing in your marriage matters, the importance of having friends who pray for your relationship, and four simple habits that help marriages stay strong. Whether you’re newly married, raising little ones, or navigating the teenage years, this episode is a reminder that your marriage is worth protecting, investing in, and fighting for. 4 things to do for your marriage this week 1. Have fun together (laugh) 2. Look in each others eyes 3. Pray together 4. Physical Touch.
| When Mom Rage Shows Up | 09 Mar 2026 | 00:13:13 | |
Last week on the podcast, my friend Crystal and I talked about something many moms experience but few talk about openly — mom anger. And then… I had a moment. After a full week of March break fun, exhaustion, noise, and overstimulation finally caught up with me. As we were packing up to leave our cottage, something inside of me snapped and I completely lost my temper with my family. The drive home was quiet — and my mind was loud with shame, guilt, and the feeling that maybe I had no right encouraging other moms when I still struggle too. But the Lord reminded me of something powerful I had done months earlier — burning a picture my kids once coloured of me as an angry, chained-up minion. That picture represented a lie about my identity. Yes, I have moments of anger. In this episode I’m sharing the full story — the moment at the cottage, the shame spiral that followed, and why repentance, humility, and grace matter so much in motherhood. If you've ever felt like your worst parenting moment defines you, this conversation is for you. You are not alone.
| Snow Days, Small Groups & Surviving Motherhood | 02 Mar 2026 | 00:51:44 | |
In this episode, I’m sitting down with one of my bestest friends, Crystal — a woman I met 13 years ago when we were both stay-at-home moms with little kids. With the “2016 trend” floating around social media, we started looking back at those early motherhood years — snow days, fancy hot chocolates, beach trips, small groups, and doing life side by side. And we realized something important: It wasn’t easier back then. We talk honestly about: This conversation is for the mom in the trenches, the mom stepping into a new season, and the mom who sometimes wonders if the “good old days” are behind her. Spoiler alert: They’re not. The good old days are happening right now too. If this episode resonates with you, share it with the friend who survived snow days with you. And don’t forget to follow the podcast and leave a review — it truly helps more than you know. 🤍

In this episode of Praise, Prayer & Protein, I’m reflecting on a powerful sermon we heard on Sunday about “A Recipe for Christian Parenting” and what it actually looks like in real life. Happy Family Day 🤍 In today’s episode, we’re talking about something that makes connection so much easier in our homes understanding your child’s love language. Before we jump into family fun, I wanted to share how learning the five love languages for kids has completely changed the way we connect in our big family. | How My 2025 Bingo Card Really Went | 22 Dec 2025 | 00:20:15
Every year between Boxing Day and New Year’s, I take a quiet afternoon to look back on the year behind me and gently look ahead to what’s next. For years, I did this by setting goals across a few simple categories — faith, family, health, friendships, and personal growth. Nothing fancy or overwhelming… just intentional rhythms for the season of motherhood I was in. Last year, I decided to try something new. Instead of a traditional goal list, I created a 2025 Bingo Card — 25 simple, meaningful things I hoped to do, experience, or grow in throughout the year. Some were practical, some were fun, some were deeply personal… and one square mattered more than all the others. In this episode, I’m walking you through my bingo card in real time — sharing what I accomplished, what surprised me (hello, starting a podcast), what didn’t happen, and what I’m carrying forward into the next year. We’ll talk about: If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by goal-setting or like New Year’s resolutions just aren’t for you anymore, this episode is a gentle reminder that growth can be slow, imperfect, and still incredibly meaningful. I’ll be taking a short break while the kids are home for the holidays, and I’ll be back in January with some really fun and practical episodes to kick off the new year. Thanks for being here — and for walking this season with me. Links Mentioned in the show KBfit -
