Pearls of the Blessed Ramadan (6)!
The sixth day of the tafseer of this month of Ramadan (1447H/2026G) took place at Annoor Masjeed, Wuse 2, Abuja, and covered Chapter 3, Verses 193 and 194 of the Glorious Qur'an.
Allah says in the 2 verses:
"Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one (Muhammad SAW) calling to Faith: "Believe in your Lord," and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die in the state of righteousness along with Al-Abrar (those who are obedient to Allah and follow strictly His Orders).
Our Lord! Grant us what You promised unto us through Your Messengers and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection, for You never break (Your) Promise."
There are several lessons for Ulul Albab (Men of Understanding) in these 2 verses in addition to the previous two verses discussed yesterday. Some of the major lessons and qualities of the men of understanding that we are to emulate are:
1) They remember Allah, through worshiping Him while standing, sitting, and while lying on their beds.
2) They ponder over the creation of the heavens and the earth and what is in between, and that increases their faith in their Lord.
3) They strongly believe in Allah and they believe in all His Prophets sent to humanity, including Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (Peace be upon them all). In addition, they follow and comply with all the articles of faith.
4) We all make supplications for their successes in both worlds. It is essential to always strive and supplicate for your prosperity in this world and also for your salvation in the hereafter.
5) They avoid major and minor sins. If they commit any, they regret and make adjustments immediately and amend. They also seek Allah's forgiveness for their previous sins.
6) They are steadfast in obedience to Allah. They avoid evil with patience and they are steadfast on Allah's Decree and destiny.
7) We humbly beg Allah to take their lives as believers and also to give them what their prophets have covenanted to them divinely in the hereafter.
May Allah register us among those who fulfil the qualities of the men of understanding.
Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami.
