Potter Revisited Episode #107 Ron Weasley, The Chosen One AKA Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 9 "The Woes of Mrs Weasley"

• Tori feels the need to stick up for Ron in this chapter 
• Harry is cleared of all charges, and Dumbledore dips without even telling Arthur what happened
• Percy and Arthur ignore each other 
• Harry and Arthur spot Lucius speaking with Cornelius and Lucius is very comfortable with his position as his goads Harry 
• Patronus Potter is actually a great nickname
• We can't wait for Lucius to be in jail by the end of OOTP - what he deserves 
• The "He got off" chant is so fun
• Everyone is happy Harry got off, except for Sirius 
• It is a bit immature for Sirius to be visibly upset Harry won't be an outcast with him, but we can understand why he is feeling down being suck in Grimmauld Place 
• The kids are back to cleaning up Grimmauld Place, and Hermione thinks a clean of Gryffindor Tower would be a great idea for SPEW
• We love how dedicated Hermione is to SPEW despite how Ron and Harry treat it 
• Why was the booklist sent out the LAST day of the holidays?
• Ron and Hermione are made Gryffindor prefects and Harry isn't sure how to feel
• Poor Ron, everyone says how they expected Harry to get the badge
• Mrs Weasley is there to praise Ron, which is probably good for her to have some good news to focus on 
• Ron has matured from GOF and doesn't take out any hard feelings about how everyone treats him getting the badge out on Harry 
• Its good for Harry (and Ron) for Harry not to get something that Ron does 
• Harry is fine with not being prefect after finding out his dad wasn't one 
• Moody shows Harry an old Order photo which he thinks is cool but really brings the party mood down
• Moody thinks Alberforth Dumbledore is a strange guy, which says something 
• Harry stumbles across Molly trying to get rid of the Boggart which shows members of the Weasleys dead 
• Shay thought Ron might of really been dead for a moment when reading as a kid 
• This is some dark foreshadowing to a Weasley Death
• The Twins are shown dead together, showing Molly couldn't imagine them being separated by death - we are not ready to lose Fred
• Shay has issue with how Lupin says he would look after Ron and Ginny if Molly and Arthur died
• Shay is back to not being a Dumbledore fan 
• Tori takes issue with Dumbledore saying later that he felt Harry had too much going on to be prefect - Ron deserves better than being a sub-in
• Tori explains why she feels Ron is the best choice for Gryffindor prefect, and Shay discusses if Neville could of been an option

Potter Revisited Episode #105 Department of Injustice AKA Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 7 "The Ministry of Magic"

• Harry entering the room alone and realizing he is in the room where he saw the death eater trials is spooky 
• Does the Ministry assume Harry traveled to London from Surrey? Surely he should be pardoned for being late do the the quick location and time change - especially since he is a minor who cannot use the quicker transportation methods 
• Harry notices Percy, but Percy ignores him 
• What are Fudge and Umbridge's credentials to be interrogators in a criminal hearing? This feels like the Prime Minister asking you questions about a crime they think you committed as a minor
• Fudge has an agenda for this hearing and how he wants it to go
• Dumbledore makes his dramatic entrance into the hearing 
• Shay loves this version of Dumbledore - alert the press! 
• The way Dumbledore comes in, acts very calm and assertive totally undermines Fudge and his control over the hearing 
• Why is it such a big deal that Harry did magic in front of a Muggle when the Muggle is Dudley, who already knows about magic?
• Madame Bones being so in shock and impressed about Harry being able to produce a patronus is so great, we stan
• Fudge making a joke using Bagman's gambling addiction is in such poor taste and completely inappropriate for the situation
• Dumbledore brings up the Charter of Rights - shouldn't Harry been aware of this before the hearing so he wasn't steamrolled by the Minister of Magic who has a vendetta against him? 
• Mrs Figg is brought in as a witness, and it shows how much care the Ministry has in Squibs as they have no record of her 
• We are introduced to Umbridge and prepare for the awfulness coming our way 
• Umbridge is such an different villain compared to Voldemort in the series 
• Fudge brining up other past incidents of Harry shows he is grasping at straws, and how corrupt he is when he says "laws can be changed"
• Dumbledore dips as soon as Harry is cleared, and Tori doesn't understand Shay's Amanda Show reference 
• Shay discusses Madam Bones and how she would make a great surrogate mom figure for Harry in addition to Molly... and Tori breaks the news that she dies

Potter Revisited Episode #97 The Wisdom of Harry AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 37 "The Beginning"

• We are finally wrapping up GoF!
• Harry is now left to really process what has happened to him on his own
• Harry meets with the Diggory's - was this forced on him or did he ask to do this? 
• Amos is a wreak - if he was in a better place maybe he would of made a bigger issues of Fudge trying to cover up what happened to his son
• Molly actually asks Dumbledore for Harry to come home with the Weasley's 
• Harry had to go back with no support for him in place
• Hagrid is a big comfort and doesn't sugarcoat things for Harry 
• Hagrid talks about is overwhelming faith in Dumbledore being the key to win the war - could this be foreshadowing Dumbledore's death in HBP
• This is the first book where the ending isn't fully resolved going into the next 
• Ron finally asking Krum for his autograph - iconic 
• Hermione reveals the truth about Rita Skeeter and what she has done... keeping her in a JAR 
• Unhinged behaviour 
• Malfoy tells Harry he backed the wrong side... but what other side could he be on since the other wants him dead? 
• Everyone cursing Malfoy as he is boasting is what he deserves
• Should the school be concerned that known deatheater kids are at Hogwarts with Harry Potter? 
• Fred and George also reveal the blackmail plot and how awful Ludo Bagman is 
• Harry forcing the Twins to take his Triwizard earnings to start a joke shop is so moving and such a great moment - especially looking out for Ron and asking them to get him new dress robes 
• This moment really shows Harry's wisdom and emotional growth 
• The tone of this last chapter is interesting as everything is not completely resolved but their is still a feeling of hope going into OOTP
• We discuss our overall thoughts, favourite moments, final Snape Sucks count and characters that stuck out in this book

Potter Revisited Episode #96 Gaslighting AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 36 "The Parting of the Ways"

• We are now a Fudge Hate podcast 
• After learning that Moody was actually Barty Crouch Jr and everything that happened to him, Harry still needs to sit with Dumbledore and tell him everything that happened
• Despite it all, Harry does ask about Cedric's parents 
• Fawkes gives Harry the emotional support he needs, as well as Sirius
• Harry feels immediate comfort with Fawkes around - is this due to the wand or, or is this just what Phoenixes do? 
• Fawkes is basically an emotional support animal at this point 
• Could Dumbledore just have gotten Harry's memories of the events instead of making him relive it?
• Dumbledore keeps telling Harry he did beyond what was expected of him... but what was expected of him? 
• Dumbledore's "gleam of triumph" What does it mean? 
• We learn brother wands can't attack each other - what was Olivander doing making these wands in the first place? 
• Sirius is visibly shocked and upset about the ghostly apparitions of James and Lily - is he reliving his own trauma from their deaths?
• Dumbledore does show Harry a lot of care in the aftermath, which is starkly different to how he treats Harry in OOTP
• Dumbledore: "What matters isn't what someone is born but what they grow to be" - very interesting quote in regards to the series 
• Note: We do discuss the author's transphobic views in relation to this quote 
• Mini G comes in yelling at Fudge - good for her
• Fudge came in and got rid of the "evidence" and then complains about the lack of evidence 
• Fudge gaslights everyone SO hard 
• Fudge shows the ugly side of his character with how he treats Harry and avoids responsibility to to see reason 
• Why is Fudge coming to question the suspect rather than a trained professional like an Aurror? 
• Fudge seems suspicious - the way he acted seems like he was in on a cover up
• Cedric's parents deserve answers in how he died 
• Interesting when Harry names Lucius Malfoy as a Death Eater, Fudge brings up the fact that he is from an "old family" that donates a large amount of money, so he is obviously innocent - something we see a lot today 
• Snape shows Fudge and everyone around his dark mark - is this pretty brave of him? 
• Sirius reveals himself to everyone, and Snape realizes that Dumbledore has been gaslighting him for a year 
• It feels naïve the way Dumbledore tries to have Sirius and Snape burry the hatchet - he expected too much as they have too much history 
• Sirius and Snape leave to do their part of Dumbledore's master plan, and Mrs Weasley steps in to support Harry 
• Harry describes the hug he gets being like from a mother - which has so much emotional ties with everything he has been through 
• It is interesting how this chapter closes everything yet everything is not resolved and won't be going into OOTP - really a new beginning 
• Last chapter and wrap up for GOF coming soon!

Potter Revisited Episode #95 Even More Daddy Issues AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 35 "Veritaserum"

• Shay loves the latin ties Veritaserum has
• Harry has been through so much in the last few chapters - he is not the same person he was going into the maze
• Harry reappearing with Cedric is crazy 
• Dumbledore is in a hard situation with needed to diffuse the situation with a dead student yet also need to get information from Harry 
• Interesting that Moody taking Harry away is what clues Dumbledore in that he is an imposer
• Harry is being very vulnerable with fake Moody 
• The reveal that (fake) Moody put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire was shocking to Tori as a kid, when you think at the moment that Moody is a bad guy 
• Moody says he put Harry under a fake school name - is that a poorly thought out plothole /loophole for this book?
• Moody didn't really help Harry as much as he implies - Harry did do all the tasks himself 
• Harry's reliance on Ron and Hermione almost ruins fake Moody's plans - he assumes Harry would ask everyone for help
•  Fake Moody attempts to kill Harry for Voldemort - what would of happened if he had tried since Harry is a Horcrux?
• Shay takes all about Barty Crouch Jrs Daddy Issues 
• Having the Truth Potion used to reveal Crouch Jr's plans is a lot better than more monologues
• Could you use hair in a polyjuice potion for a person that is dead? 
• Poor real Moody has been through it 
• We discuss the Foe Glass that is in the office, how it works and Shay wonders if it hints at Snape's true loyalty

Potter Revisited Episode #94 He Brought a Spoon to a Gun Fight AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 33 "Priori Incantatem"

• Voldemort plans to duel Harry in front of all the Death Eaters
• Wormtail unties Harry from the gravestone but won't meet his eyes
• All Harry can recall from duelling is what Lockhart taught him 
• This is where expelliarmus becomes Harry's signature spell
• Voldemort is always monologuing and he refers to himself as death - referencing the Hallows?
•  Harry has been through so much these last few hours
• Harry just accepts he is going to die, and decides he will not let Voldemort define his death 
• Voldemort kind of complements James on how he died
• Could Harry have used a better, more offensive spell than expelliarmus?
• Harry hears the Phoenix Lament when the priori incantatem occurs between him and Voldemort
• Would priori incantatem occur for any other type of shared cores? Would it be different depending on the core? 
• Harry sees the ghostly apparitions of the people Voldemort has killed 
• Shay wonders what would of happened in Snape was present when the Lily apparition appeared
• Its interesting the the movies have the Lily apparition relay the information but in the book it is James. Harry really feels comforted by the assumed presents of his dad
• Voldemort made a huge deal about Harry only being alive because of luck or Dumbledore, but Harry is able to escape on his own 
• This is the true turning point in the series as we go into a world where Voldemort is back at full powe

• Voldemort emerges from his soup and has a monologe prepared
• Should Voldemort looks been more connected to the Horcruxes?

• Voldemort refers to the Death Eaters as 'family' - does he even know what the word means?

• Shay thinks it's dumb that all the Death Eaters have a visible tattoo 
• Harry is stuck between dissociating and shock

• Do we feel bad for Wormtail? He assisted so much and Voldemort is gaslighting him 
• Lots of foreshadowing regarding Wormtail's new hand

• This brings up our suspicions about Snape again 
• How did Snape convince Voldemort he was on his side? 
• Voldemort brought his followers back just to roast them 
• Interesting Voldemort is calling all of them Cowards out of everything 
• Voldmort recounts his backstory with Harry 
• What does Voldemort using Harry's blood do? Is it related to the prophecy
• Voldemort being a classic villain and monologuing instead of getting down to business

Potter Revisited Episode #92 Villain Soup AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 32 "Flesh, Blood and Bone"

• Voldemort soup incoming 
• Do readers, do we know that something bad is going to happen? 
• The way Cedric dies is so quick and absolute 
• Tori was shocked reading this as a kid 
• Harry is in shock - really, this is the first death Harry is really able to comprehend 
• After this moment, Harry is irreversibly changed 
• Baby Voldemort is described as looking a lot more disturbing in the book compared to the film 
• Wormtail provides his hand for the soup - did it need to be his hand? 
• What is this potion / spell? Does it only work if you have Horcurxes? 
• "Lord Voldemort has risen again." What a line to end on
• Tori discusses the impacts Cedric death has not only on Harry, but throughout the greater wizarding world 
• Harry really suffers with survivor's guilt after this moment

Potter Revisited Episode #91 Opting Out of the Opt Out Option AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 31 "The Third Task"

• We are finally at the last task of the Triwizard Tournament!
• Harry feels a lot of sympathy for Neville after learning what happened to his parents, and feels a new hatred for Voldemort and what he has cost people 
• For the first time, Harry is properly prepared for a task 
• Rita has changed her tune on Harry - he really should file a lawsuit 
• Hermione has a brainwave about Rita and of course, does not tell Harry and Ron anything 
• If a champion had been Muggle Born, would their family been able to come to Hogwarts?
• Molly tells Amos that Rita Skeeter is a liar but seemed to believe it when it was about Hermione.... 
• Percy is taking the Mr Crouch news very hard
• There are some safety guidelines implemented for the Third Task - has opting out been an option this whole time? 
• Was the Third Task set up to be something Harry would excel at?
• Harry's initial reflect when Fleur is in trouble is to help, but then thinks about the competition
• Does it seem wrong that Fleur is the one who always seems to struggle in the tournament? It seems to further the bias of female characters that are generally more feminine are not taken seriously?
•  Fake Mood did not count on Cedric being such a good sport and Harry having empathy 
• Harry used all the traits of the houses within the tournament 
• This is where the series really changes - Harry is never the same after this point in the book

Potter Revisited Episode #90 Constant Judgement from your Predecessors AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 30 "The Pensieve"

• We are back in Dumbledore's office 
• Fudge quickly backpedals when Harry calls him out 
• There is a lot of recapping done about Dumbledore's office but a lot of these things do come back in the series later on 
• Harry is so nosey, we love him for it
• Interesting seeing the Real Moody in the memories - we get a good idea of his character and Moody's stance on justice 
• We finally get the confirmation that Snape was a Death Eater 
• What testimony did Dumbledore do to clear Snape? It seems incredible that the government just took Dumbledore's word on Snape 
• Ludo getting off due to him being a celebrated athlete is too close to real life
• We see the court proceeding where Crouch tries his own son - did Barty Jr play up his innocence to make his father look bad? 
• Would Crouch's career been more affected if Barty JR had acting more like Bellatrix in the trial? 
• Did Dumbledore leave the pensieve out on purpose for Harry to find? 
• It still feels odd that Harry did not see the dream through Voldemort's perspective 
• We get more context to Neville's past and Harry has really great empathy 
• Neville's parents being alive but not cognitive feels worse than Harry's parents being dead
• Dumbledore will not tell Harry anything about Snape's loyalty. Should Dumbledore have given more context? Harry's mistrust of Snape hurts Harry a lot down the line
• Dumbledore asking Harry not to tell people about Neville's parents and letting Neville decide when to tell people seems like the only time Dumbledore has protected a student that is not Harry
• How does the Pensieve work and what are the main purposes? We discuss how it could be used in court trials and other uses
