What I Liked About This Episode

The opening had a great flow, and I loved the music. I appreciated the heads-up on AI-generated voices. I knew exactly where I was going as the episode progressed.

What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing

I'm undecided about the AI reading the scripture. It reminded me of Yul Brenner. These weren't horrible robotic voices (but reading the King James Version doesn't help—even when a human reads that version, you really have to pay attention).

This is going to be one of those things that you either like, or you don't. You might be like me, and be on the fence. I think over time, you get used to the AI accent.

What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing

Your audio quality sounds like you used a noise reduction and went too far. I even took off my headphones and listened through computer speakers.

When your audio quality distracts the listener from what you are saying to how it sounds, that's a problem.

This is an easy fix. If you are using a built into the laptop computer check out the Samson Q2u https://supportthisshow.com/q2u and find a quiet room

The music at the beginning either needs to fade is as you are wrapping up (and then fade out as the story starts, or just lose it and use the WHOOSH which was quite louder than the rest of the show. All of these are easy to solve.

What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing

You've got a plosive issue, and when your show name has two P's you need to fix that. The witty banter went on too long, and you have a ton of "music for the sake of nothing." The biggest thing I would say is get to the topic, then throw in stories as you talk about editing. I wanted to hear this but you seemed a bit focused on being entertaining in a "Local programming television morning show" way. Oh Trevor you rascal! Just get to the content and inject yourself into the content with stories that help make a point.

Opinion: This was a great podcast. You explain what the show is about, explain the movie you will be talking about, add a game, and get to the interview in under two minutes. NICELY DONE.

I liked the gamification aspect as it gives someone (like me) who has never seen the movie a reason to pay attention. Your first question was a great way to start and get to the point (How accurate was this movie) so you didn't make me sit through 20 minutes to answer that question.

For me, I would make sure the episodes obvious. I could see "cherry-picking" the episodes based on their titles (and if I've seen them or not).

Description: Big Facts, No Cap is an iPod broadcast in which two normal dudes with highly overlapping worldviews give advice to online strangers who will probably never hear it. Using questions from advice columns ranging in scope from dating to pet care to religion and everything in between, Paul and Adrian deliver the best suggestions they can muster off the top of their lovely yet largely vacant heads. The duo’s tough love and hot takes also extend to the advice giver as they critique the published response to each query from the column’s resident expert. Truly a show that no one asked for, Big Facts No Cap is an unapologetic vanity project from two (basically) adult men whose time would probably be better spent fixing their own problems. But hey, that sounds way less fun to listen to, doesn’t it?

Opinion: I liked your description and the sarcasm (but ipod?). The sound quality is good, but the intro is annoying and I really don't know what the show is about, or what the episode is going to be about. You follow this with a question about family member nicknames - which does not fit your description.

You two have the curse of knowledge. You know each other, your backgrounds, and consequently, you find things funny that someone who doesn't have the same level of insight won't.

My advice redo your intro and explain what the show is about and what question you will be tackling (people will get on a bus if they know where it's going), and then get to the meat of the show.

If you're doing this for fun, have fun. You could be a bit more organized at this point.

Your intro sounds like was started in the middle of a song. Your microphone sounds like you're in the bathroom (very boomy) and you didn't introduce the show. Speaking of that the tagline in Appel does not match the tagline (gray text on a great background) on your website.

I liked that you got right to the recipe, but I didn't quite follow the creation of the recipe. I'm not sure if this is a "how-to" if so you are missing a HUGE opportunity by not putting the recipe on your website. You might tell people, "to make this recipe you will need..." I'm not sure I follow what the purpose of the show is.

I didn't hear any real tips. I'm not sure what the takeaway was after listening for five minutes. Your guest has (to me) an annoying vocal tick where she ends sentences in a way that makes it sound like it's a question. That got on my nerves.

You spoke about her awesome pictures. This is audio, we can't see them.

I liked that you got right to the recipe, I would look at the purpose of the show, and come up with a bit more structure. I enjoyed that this was a conversation, but it might've been a little too free-flowing. I didn't get the joke later that she had a sourdough maker with a name. (Must be a chef thing).

For me, I would work on your mic technique, and try to get rid of some of that boomy room noise. I would come up with better episode titles (that's huge). Have your guest have microphones (they are not a large expense) and make sure to not use the laptop microphone. There is too much competition and people won't listen to bad audio. So fic the intro, the audio sound, and add some structure so I know where I'm going, and keep the great conversation.

Opinion: The music on the introduction was WAY too loud. Your introduction didn't stir any anticipation or make me think, "I can't wait to hear this." The guest audio was bad, and YOUR audio added hiss. Your first question was not great but did have a nice warm "coming of age" story, but the "tell me a little bit about yourself is code for, "I didn't do my homework." I do your like your artwork.

Your titles have the name of your show. You don't need that and are wasting your episode title and they as SO IMPORTANT.

All of this is easy to fix, but for now, this is not a great first impression.

Opinion:

For me, the introduction of clip after clip went on way too Long. I get the premise of the show, and about four minutes in you finally get to the "I'm going to judge this on five criteria. That should've been in the first 30 seconds to hook me in and let me decide if I want to stick around.

I would buy a domain at coolerwebsites.com and point it at your website. It just gives a better impression. You've obviously put some time and effort into your podcast and thinking this through, don't get cheap on the domain name (they are $15-20 a year).

For me, I like watching sports, but not enough to argue over which millionaire is the best of all time. So I'm not your target audience, but I would still cut out some of the intro, turn the music down a bit and get to the content.

Opinion: Your show starts off with a very long stretch of music. Then you sound like you're reading the person's LinkedIn profile. You then ask him about his background. This delivered no value to me. Your audio was OK (a slightly boomy mic), but listenable.

TIPS FOR IMPROVEMENT:

Add a voice-over to your music and introduce the show (so people know what it's about) and then introduce the topic for the episode. Instead of reading their bio, explain why YOU are excited to have this person on, and what they can expect to learn.

The link to subscribe to the show don't work on your website, and there is no way to listen to the audio on your website. Two factors that boost Apple rankings are the total number of downloads (in Apple) and the total number of Subscribers. I would recommend fixing that and offering Apple, Google, and Spotify (as 75% of Europe is on an Android phone).

I see where you are using Soundcloud. Soundcloud hasn't implemented the changes that Apple put in place back in 2017. A better choice is libsyn.com (use the coupon code sopfree to get a full month of hosting)

I liked that you started right out of the gate, and got right to the subject. You educated us a bit about what a LDR is and what the typical LDR looks like. You mention that communication is key to a relationship (any relationship). You make this point twice.

You have that cute couple thing going on. Be careful. While you didn't do it in this episode, you may suffer from the curse of knowledge. This is where you guys laugh, etc at something because of your history. Remember your audience doesn't share your experiences.

There were some things in the show like how far you were separated, and who had what list that could go a little smoother with some episode planning. This wasn't horrible, but if you know the points you're going to hit, then you can have that information ready.

I need to go listen to your episode on race. As someone who grew up in an all-white bubble, I'm sure there are things that happened in your life that just weren't part of my upbringing. After last year and George Floyd, I'm always open for new insights, but that's not what this show is about. However, if you wanted to stand out from every other podcast about "whatever we talk about" then you have a viewpoint not everyone shares.

This sounds like a hobby podcast as you are going to cover all sorts of topics. Just remember you need to make people do one or more of the following: Laugh Cry Think Groan Educate Entertain

If you're not doing at least one of those, you're boring. Try to do more than one.

I loved your description and as a Christian myself I was excited. As a first time listener, you thanked all of the people who helped during the year. I would move that to the end (where super listeners are still listening). You did the dreaded "double intro" where you introduce your guest, and go to the interview where you introduced your guest.

For me, I'm not sure we need his back story to understand the subject of the podcast today and consequently, I got bored. We were five minutes in and I was learning more about his parents.

Your audio (not the guest) also has "more than usual" hiss. I would check your recording level and make sure they are between -12 and -6.

I loved your delivery (you do talk fast as do I) and I love the concept of the show, but it was a little too slow out of the gate to hold my attention.

I was so happy that you didn't fall into the stereotypical Christian show which begs for cash

You had good energy and good passion, and I love your interaction with your audience. I would ask you to examine what your audience is tuning in for? Do they need more news that they don't get on ESPN? Do we need a TIKOTOK update?

I would lose the music at the beginning or make a proper intro.

The jump cuts are really bad and very noticeable. I thought something was wrong on my phone.

You did a good job of using each other's names to help the audience keep track of who is who.

Your intro was awful. If you don't care about it, why should I. You need to go back to the drawing board and do the following:

1. Identify your WHY. If you don't get your why, you burn out.

2. Identify your WHO. If you don't give them value, you'll never grow an audience.

3. Identify the WHAT. This is content that both entertains the WHO while moving them toward your WHAT.

4. Identify how you will measure success. There are more than downloads (sales, reach, influence, fun, and more). If you use the wrong metric, you might get discouraged.

5. if the goal is to make money QUICKLY and you have started with zero audience, know that it can take YEARS to build an audience big enough to make countable income.

It all starts with identifying your WHO and your WHY.

Avoid free media hosts. You get what you pay for.

The intro was pretty bad, but kudos for trying something different. You seem to have an identity crisis. Your Appel description mentioned hip hop, but the episode you sent me was a movie review.

I liked your conversational style (but your questions could be tightened up). Your audio is just barely OK (lots of room noise and mic holding sounds). Maybe add WHY I should listen to you? There are tons of movie review podcasts, what makes yours different?

The episode needs editing, "Let's get right to it" and about 15 UMS from your guest would make this sound right. You started off with a yes/no question (which are generally not great to use in interviews)

Not sure who had the dog barking. If you have two separate tracks you might've been able to eliminate that.

There are editors for books, newspapers, magazine, tv, and movies... not sure why you feel your podcast doesn't need one.

I would buy a domain (see www.coolerwebsites.com) and point it at your anchor site (if you stay with Anchor - they take over control of your show). Check out Libsyn.com and use the coupon sopfree .

I'm confused why your show is not in Apple podcasts. That's the #1 way people listen to podcasts. Your description is a bit long, and you're trying to sell people who have no idea who you are yet.

You are VERY high energy and that may turn people off, but you be you. This does lead to a little bit of distortion in your audio.

In general, this podcast was short, got right to the point and gave me a strategy. Kudos. Again, the thing that really makes me scratch my head is why you are hiding it from the world, and not syndicating it to all platforms.

As your audience has a hard time focusing, give us something to trigger the theater of the mind. You had a fair amount of theory and in some cases details that we didn't need. Your star/energy was a bit vague, and I was ready to hear the strategy behind implementing it (and you took a while to get to it). Never tell a kid you have candy, cause they can't focus on anything else).

I liked that you admitted you also have ADHD, and I thought a story of how YOU implemented these strategies would've been great as it would've allowed us to get to know you while learning the strategy.

You did repeat yourself at one point on what you're going to cover. It's not radio. Nobody tuned into the middle.

I do like your conversational tone like you were talking to a friend.

First off, I didn't watch this show so keep that in mind. You did make me giggle thinking about wearing a uniform with a nametag. The co-sister gag went on a bit long, and your brother's bell is on my verses quickly. Why do I earn points? I was waiting for an old AHH-OOO-GAH! horn. I liked the idea about the name tags and the BMV not changing, but it took you four minutes to get to the episode. So any additional items you were getting to you had to get through some of the "let be cute witty banter" at the beginning. You seem to spend time on the crossword puzzle stuff which seemed like a tangent.  Keep in mind if you don't make me laugh, cry, think, groan, educate, or entertain me you are being bored.  I was worried you were just going to tell me what was in the show, and it seemed like that was the path we were going down... So for me, you made me think about some things I hadn't thought about and that pulled me in. Your brother seems to be trying really hard to be funny.  This might've resonated with me more if I had watched the show. I would try to cut back on the witty banter at the beginning of the show and get to the episode quicker. The reason the office girls works is they are giving you the information you can't get anywhere else (as they were on the show) so when they explain what happened on the show they were able to give new insights. If the goal of the show is to have fun with your brother, congrats as your show is already successful. Try to find someone who watched the show (not named Mom) and get their opinion.

The introduction was great with a table of contents. The audio sounds great. Then you make me sit through WAY too much music to get to the show where you do a GREAT job of introducing yourselves.

Then you start a conversation with a puppet, and fall into witty banter while you later (about four minutes in) say, "There is some big news today." If there is big news, why am I listening to a puppet?

I would cut the music down A LOT, and move any witty banter to the end of the show. For me, your production is polarizing. People who love the morning zoo format will tune in, and those that don't (me) won't. That DING DING DING DING was on my last nerve QUICKLY.

The music intro was too long, but once you came on you had a great conversation and great production. The transition music was again, rather long. When the actual show the great audio that was in the intro took a small step backward. If I had to guess this is audio from a Zoom meeting and you're using a Blue Yeti microphone. There is a bit of "room noise" and the audio just isn't as crips. However, someone who is not a podcaster wouldn't even notice. At first, I thought you started the story too far back and we were going to have to sift through a ton of backstory (as we're here to talk grief, so we know it hurts to lose a child) le's focus on the healing. The guest did a good job of getting to the cause of death. Your second "question" was "wow that was rough.." or something along those lines. This set the guest on more of her story. You did a good job of staying out of her way, but an actual question for your second response may have lead to a less rambling answer.  With that said, when I pressed stop on the story I wanted to hear more. I thought the vulnerability of sharing how you had lost a son (not every listener has read your website). You may want to add that to the intro, "and I know something about grief as I lost a son..." it shows you're not talking about grief,  you're living through it, processing it first hand.  Your audio format is 192 kbps stereo (which is actually HIGHER than normal, so you might look at your recording technique. All in all a good show.

For an anchor show, the audio wasn't that bad (you can't help your guest called from the bathroom). You stated that Troy the guest had to eat something for 75 days and then went into a NEVER ENDING conversation about Cinnabon. I thought maybe he ate Cinnabon for 75 days. You never really say what he did (or at least in the first 8 minutes). You had me and you lost me. We don't need all this backstory. The question about JB should've been edited out as it delivered no value to the audience.

Also never tell your audience to find you as search tools in Apple, Google, Spotify, and Amazon are pretty bad. Instead, send them to your website where it's easy to subscribe. I would also buy conversationswitharandomnobody.com (see coolerwebsites.com) as not everyone will know you spelled it cute. You may have trouble building an audience with "Random" topics cause one episode may be up someone's alley and the next one be something they could care less about.

I don't really care about the story's history - just get to the story. I would get to the story and after I hear it I would be more interested in where it came from. I enjoyed the first story with the comet. The Joe Frasier story was a bit slow for me. I was somewhat confused as to why I was listening to multiple stories. You might put that at the beginning of the show, "We have three stories today with the theme second chances." While this story had me wondering if Joe was going to pass his test, I wasn't willing to sit through all of Joe's classes to see if he makes it or not.

My thoughts behind a "short story" is I expected the podcast to be about 10 minutes in total, so when I looked up and saw the file was 20, I didn't want to sit in every one of Joe's class with him. Keep in mind, I'm not a huge fan of fiction unless it really comes and grabs me and gives me some stakes, or reasons to love the character. For me, it just didn't hold my attention. If I was a smaller child (say age 10) I might have lasted longer.

One of my favorite books on writing/storytelling is www.schoolofpodcasting.com/storyworthy Matthew Dicks (the author) is a master storyteller.

I would visit coolerwebsites.com and buy a domain, web hosting, or use something like Podpage to have a great looking site.

You could move the "we've been off for a few weeks" toward the end of the show (as it makes no sense to any new listeners). At first, I didn't get how "Black Girls" would be different than anyone else talking sports. I can see connecting with other black women. Why? When I listen to someone from Scotland, I have to focus on their words due to the accent. However, if I was Scottish I might hear a Scottish accent and be relaxed and think, "The host sounds just like me" and feel relaxed. We all have accents, the southern part of the US, or the Boston accent, etc. With this in mind, I get how this show will connect with people on a deeper level as you are giving people who sound like you the ability to talk sports. If I was talking countries, this comment would seem fine. As this is based on race, I pray I don't sound like a racist pig.

I didn't realize there were whacky flavors of pepsi in Japan. The Advice of "learn Japanse" was a bit lame as a tip, but I REALLY liked the insight into getting housing. The music was a bit loud, and music for the sake of nothing at the end was a waste of my time. Fade it in if you want at the end and have voice over top of it. I liked your energy but your microphone seemed muted. If you're recording this with your phone, have the phone right next to your mouth. So this show has potential but right now it needs a little cleanup. Please note that if you let Anchor submit your show to the directories "For you" they control your show in those directories and you are missing the ability to see additional stats.

Opinion The audio is good, but your first two minutes is inside jokes about what episode it is (who cares?) You finally announce what you're going to talk about but can't stop interrupting each other so the pace of the show is painfully slow. Let people know where they are going, and get to the point. Then you can yuck it up. This episode was supposed to be about people being naked in a library and you're talking about Latina Aids awareness. You also have the "curse of knowledge" which means you know each other and have inside jokes that nobody else is going to get. You seemed to be laughing at things that just didn't seem funny. Keep in mind your audience wasn't with you all these years of being friends and won't get those references. Also, when someone meets you in person are you going to talk like this? With words like DEE - LAY... be yourself, have energy, but if you get too close to what radio people call "Puke Voice" it turns people off.

I would go to http://www.coolerwebsites.com and get a domain and point it toward your podomatic site (podomatic is a horrible media host, see libsyn.com and use the coupon code sopfree and we can import your show for free). If you need a quick easy website see http://www.schoolofpodcasting.com/podpage for a great tool to make a website for podcasters. Also, you need to be able to subscribe to your show in Apple, Google, Spotify at a minimum (I would add Amazon and more).

I liked the audio, and the energy. Get a little focused, and make it easy to subscribe to your show to grow your audience.

You can check out our gear guide and get something like the Samson Q2U and improve your sound for less than $100.

I liked your delivery (it sounded like you were talking) but you did somewhat learn me. Every point should be explaining how having a mentor is beneficial. I appreciated the transparency of your previous mentors and was looking for your own personal stories on how you had grown using a mentor.

I would update your sound quality and tighten up your content a little and you'll be right on track.

There does come a time when you are still trying to hook me, and I'm like, "Hey I'm here - get to the story." The production sounds good. I like that this is a true story and that you get credibility by playing clips from NBC. You explain how this guy had really mesmerized people, and I want to hear more of this story.

I would love to know the "WHY" behind this podcast as you are using Soundcloud. Soundcloud is a music service that attempts to do podcasting (poorly) and have not implemented additional tags put in place by Apple in 2017. (Let that sink in). I would recommend moving the podcast to Libsyn.com and use the coupon code sopfree to get a free month. They are an IAB certified media host, and one of the oldest and largest media hosts (if you want to take this seriously). No sponsor will touch this podcast while it's hosted on Soundcloud.

One last thing, your artwork does not meet Apple specs (normally I don't check things like this. Those are items we check on the podcast review show).

Opinion I love, love, love the ides of this show. The audio was "OK" but you could try a little noise reduction and bass reduction to get rid of some of the rumbles. You have an issue and that is you are mining for gold. You know its there, but not sure where. What I heard was you mining for gold. Instead of "do you have any stories?" you should have already found them, and editing out all the boring stuff. You may also have great stories trapped in people who are awful storytellers. This is where editing is your friend. This might be a great candidate for using a narrative (sometimes called, "NPR" style). This topic has huge potential, and you're fairly new so you on your way. Website https://www.thearmedsociety.com/ Opinion I like that there is a disclaimer at the start of the show. You start off explaining the church shooting. There is a lot of what I call "icing." This is mood music, sound effects, etc. I started to get bored when you went deep into the different people of the church, and mentioned the church shooting three or four times. I was waiting for the shooting. I don't believe we need the backstory. It seemed to drag the story on a bit. Eight minutes in you mention that one of the attendees has a gun. I would start the story there. We understand that people that die in shootings are brothers ,sisters, aunts, uncles, mothers and fathers, etc.

I would turn off the music and sound effects and just listen to the story raw and ask, "does this hold my attention." Often with heavily produced content we get too wrapped up in the production and not in the content. If you need the production to make the content interesting, then the content is boring.

Also, you only have Apple Podcasts listed on your website. 70% of europe uses Android, and a fair amount of people in the US. You're missing out on that audience.

I thought the "teaser" clip was a little long (you only need enough to have your audience think, "I want more.." Your audio was OK. You might look into using a noise gate, but overall the audio was listenable. My biggest issue was when you had some almost bad grammar, and then you mispronounced Warren Buffet's name (who is a pretty famous guy) and that took away a bit of your credibility.

Your presentation style is you are CLEARLY reading. When I hear someone who is reading (and it's not a news show) I want to ask them to give me the paper as I can read faster than they talk. If this is what you need to do to get the words out of your mouth, I get that, but practice so it doesn't sound like you're reading.

When you write your script, write it like you would say it (forget grammar) and just talk like you're telling someone sitting across the table from you some great content.

For just having 10 episodes, you're not bad, but for me, I can't stand to hear someone read to me.

The opening segment had the words "defund" and "Police" and under normal circumstances, I would've pressed stop right there. I get enough of that discussion in the mainstream news, and I personally turn to podcasts to niche down and get away from things that I get in the mainstream. It just filled my heart and brain with "oh no... here it comes..."

Knowing Rhonda, I understand she is reading the opening introduction, but for me, this seemed unnatural. The other thing (and this may be me listening through the ears of a podcaster) the audio seem over-compressed that made it a tad "boomy" and her breathes were somewhat exaggerated. Her guests had a somewhat hissy connection, and the two side bu side only made the differences more obvious. There isn't much you can do when it comes to guests.

The other thing that sent my brain wondering is Rhonda asked the guest to explain his green zone, and in my opinion, his elevator pitch needs some work. The other issue I had happening goes back to the opening clip. I'm waiting for this guy to bring up the police, and I'm just dreading it. So my own internal thoughts are competing with a not so great elevator pitch. When he started to talk about cyberbullying it got a bit more interesting. I'm not sure why, but this just didn't hold my attention. It might be that I'm just not your target audience (a female student or their Mom).

I might find some of my target audience and ask them to spell bullybuster and see if they spell with or without a space.  My knee jerk reaction is bully buster.

Yes and Murder is no exception to this trend. While you somewhat hooked me in with Brenda basically being caught on film doing a murder I thought, "so how is she going to get out of this." The next scene is a flashback to one of the murders, and it was OK, but the "scree" thing had me confused, and when you started rolling around on the floor in his blood, I just got confused and it pulled me out of the theater in my head in my own brain asking, "Why would anyone do that?" The production is good, the story moves a bit slow to me. Think of your story without the sound effects. Then make the sound effects icing on the cake. Here at The GO, we don't subscribe to just one platform, and we realize that we don't have the ability to play every game that's out there. Our goal is to discuss ours and our listener's perspectives on current and former games that we have played while keeping a positive environment.

Then we had a boatload of music for the sake of nothing. Then you did a nice intro of the show. So you had two great intros. One for the episode, and the other for the show. Just lose the 30 seconds of music. Then you did a good job of introducing people and keeping moving (no weird tangents or people trying way to hard to be funny), then you wanted to do some shout outs to people. The bottom line is people just need to hear their name ( I know because I still get giddy when someone says "Dave Jackson" on a show). You went into a fair amount of detail and then took a turn into how to make toast, jam, etc. Had you just got into the gaming talk this (minus the extended dance version of your music) would've been great. But you not only went into "Toast Talk" but you went deep and started talking lemon juice, etc. I don't remember seeing that as one of the things the show was about.

So, tidy up your intro and shorten the music, and get to the game talk quicker (and put the toast talk at the end for the super fans).

The music at the beginning needs to go or put some voice over it explaining what the show is about. I felt like I was walking into the middle of a slow-moving conversation. Why not do a recap of the last episode to bring me up to speed. If I need to listen from episode 1, you should let me know. I felt the story moved painfully slow, and I had no idea what anyone was talking about. The narrator let me know someone was in a prison, but other than that I was lost. Don't assume everyone has listened to the previous episodes, and if they need to, be sure to let the audience know. Also, make sure you have plenty of story. The story should be able to stand on its own without the sound effects. The sound effects should enhance the story. The sound effects should not be the story. It was well-produced, but I was confused storywise. Website http://www.retrozest.com/ Opinion The show starts off well (although there is some low-end hum/noise at the beginning but I'm being picky). You had a little "Music for the sake of nothing..." and then get into a very well researched, and well-produced history of AC/DC. That is great except for one thing. The title isn't "The history of AC/DC" it is supposed the be the history/behind the scenes of Back in Black. If you think about the audience, they are either younger people doing research or (probably more likely) older people reliving their youth.

For me, an avid AC/DC fan, I was bored with the history as I already knew it. I was four minutes in and instead of finding out cool facts about Back in Black I'm learning about the housing of Bon Scott. Do I need to know where Bon grew up to appreciate Back in Black (I don't think so)? The album sold 50 million copies, I think we can jump right to "The band had hit new heights with Highway to Hell and then the singer choked on vomit. They weren't sure what to do. Would they accept a new singer? And then get to the "behind the scenes" of Back in Black.

So it may be that I'm not the target audience (as I know too much about AC/DC) and someone who has a more general "radio only" knowledge of AC/DC might've been more sucked in with the history lesson.

Your intro sounded very different to me and I would consider re-recording your intro as your first recording was great, and the intro you sound a bit muffled and a bit of room reverb. You do a great job of asking a great first question to get the guest going in the right direction. She really likes talking about moving. I liked the stats she had to share. Myself (not being in OT) was getting a little bored with the "Moving is good" discussion, but you made some great points going from age group to age group.

My other worry is your title and the "cute" spelling. I would find someone who doesn't know your show. Tell them the name, and ask them what they would type into an app to find it. My guess is its not OT 4 Lyfe, but OT for life. You might consider a more "normal" spelling, and also consider buying a domain (www.coolerwebsites.com) to point at the website so that no matter what people type in for the website they end up on your website.

All in all, a good first impression especially for OT professionals.

Also it sounds like you're both using the same mic. This makes it somewhat sound like you're recording in a tunnel and your volume is a little low (this leaves the door open for hiss). This is a case where I'm assuming Hank Green is going to bring great content because everything that guy does turns to gold. The intro music at the beginning, get it out of here as it serves no purpose. Then you did an introduction of Hank. Then you did the two promos.

I really expected the interview to start there and you came back and gave us the backstory of Hank. All of this is super well produced. I was kind of like, let's get to the interview. Enough with the soft jazz. Let's listen to what Hank had to say.

Also is this whole thing going to be soundscape with music and, you know, 15 seconds of nothing?. I did want to hear the rest of this. Realize that Nick is a writer. So he is somewhat out of his element here, not so much telling stories, but he's probably not used to being behind the mic.  And I see where he did an episode on Stitcher being sold and making music for podcast. Some of these episodes are explicit.

I will go ahead and start the clock now to see how long it takes before Nick is opening up some sort of educational wing to teach people how to podcast so that's my thoughts on Servant of Pod with Nic quad if you would like your show, right here on the podcast rodeo show super simple. True Fire is a weekly podcast series that explores in depth the events that led up to line-of-duty deaths of American firefighters. Each episode is a docudrama — a factual re-telling of the incident with some added dramatic tools, such as sound effects and music. These help to create the picture in the listener’s mind of what was going on at the time. Our goal with True Fire is to memorialize the firefighters lost as they fought to save lives and preserve property. These people have given all in a job which most couldn’t imagine doing. Without them, our world would be a more dangerous place, and while they universally refuse the title “Hero,” their actions often go far beyond the requirements of the job and are, by definition, heroic.

Website http://truefirepodcast.com/ Opinion The production is great. I would reword your description as "sound effects and music" is very analytical. "Feel like you were there" is the result. The only thing I found annoying was your intro with the Engine number 6, 6, 8. It sounded like a Bingo game. You've done such a good job of setting up the episode, I'm not sure we need all that. You could start with "this is true fire" and it would work for me. The bottom line is I wanted to hear the rest of the story (I think, I'm not sure stories about people's deaths - even heroic - is something I want to work into my day. I'm not sure how that would make me feel. Firefighters should love this show, and hopefully, remind them to stay safe. This seemed a bit long. Then you introduced Brian, and played your intro (great intro) then you introduced Brian again (you could've gone right into the conversation. I am going to subscribe to your show because its right in my wheelhouse, but I found this guest boring. I tuned in to hear how he got so many downloads, and I don't need his back story and he really, really liked to talk. I felt you could've cut some of his answers in half so we could get to the "Good stuff/action items sooner." You had a great Apple description, and that's why I'm going to try another episode. I think this was just a case of the guest being very talkative. Website wntbdt.com Opinion The intro has a weird panning issue with one host way left. I think your genre is too wide. If I was a die-hard sports person I would've been bored. There were a lot of opinions here. I would've loved some stats to argue over. I loved the credentials at the beginning and you did a good job of introducing everyone and getting to the content. The introduction of the content was a bit long. Not sure we need all that back story. The audio is OK, and everyone seems to have the same volume. Whoever is holding their mic STOP and get a stand. That was annoying. Do that BEFORE you press record. As this was your fifth episode, it's not too bad. Figure out the topic and points you want to cover and see if there are different opinions. If you all agree that is going to be boring. So not a horrible podcast, but your topics need focus, and I think your audience will get confused with such a broad range of topics. The audio volume is way low, and the one guy is always WAY louder than the other guy, I would recommend getting a microphone for each of you (NOT the Blue Yeti see the Gear Guide at http://www.podcastrodeoshow.com/podcast-gear/). Your energy is pretty low. I don't expect you to scream, but you guys are mellow. Very mellow. I thought starting off talking about the current state of the market was a mistake because it's not evergreen. For me, I tuned into to hear about your picks. Why not just get to those and explain how you normally go over last week's picks, but there weren't any.  I would advise you to think about your "why" and "Who" you are talking to and fine-tune your content. For the first episode, it's in the can and for that I applaud you, but there is room for improvement. Let me know how I can help.
