The murder of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the Memphis Police Department was the latest in sensationalized stories by the media.  Or was it?  From the start, something felt different.  From the start, this smelled like a gang beatdown perpetrated by criminals instead of trained professional police officers.

Join Jim and Dan, along with Kevin McGary from Every Black Life Matters, the resident black conservative Duane Greene, and former police officer Warren Capps as they break down this horrific incident.

Episode 63 - The Twitter Files26 Dec 202201:12:03

Twitter has long been lauded as a platform for open communication and free speech. Dubbed as the Twitter Files, are they truly "bombshell" documents, as the New York Post calls them?

In this year-end episode of the Pod Bless America podcast, Jim and Dan talk about the seven Twitter file dumps most people don’t know about, the hearing about the surge in violence against LGBTQ people, and Jim’s thoughts on Donald Trump running for president.

Also, at the end of the episode, we hear Jim's dad's story about his days in the FBI and what our hosts have to say to all of those who support the show. Tune in!

E62 - The Government is Not Legal with Paul Engel19 Dec 202201:18:37

The government is a body that is supposed to represent the people. It is supposed to be a fair and just institution that works for the common good. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.

Several agencies and institutions within the government are illegitimate and do not have the people’s best interests at heart. Sometimes, these departments and agencies are created to further the agendas of special interest groups rather than serving the American people. Other times, they are simply unconstitutional, ineffective, and waste our tax dollars.

In this episode, Jim and Dan are again joined by author and speaker Paul Engel. As an advocate of the Constitution, Paul talks about how much of the government is illegitimate. He also speaks about the government’s departments and agencies that are illegal to exist, the disturbing truths about these agencies, and what it takes to fix the government.

Frustrated by Americans' general lack of knowledge about their Constitution, Paul founded The Constitutional Study to encourage others to read, study and understand the Constitution for themselves.

11:36 - "We have to take care of ourselves. And you guys have pointed this out perfectly. If we don't do it ourselves, no one will come and do this. I spent over a million dollars last year building the desktop and the search engine out of my own pocket." - Jeff Bermant

14:51 - "Everybody in this country should be concerned with what's going on right now. But half of this country is not because it's going their way. The left is not concerned with what's going on because the conservatives are being stifled." - Jim Larkin

Favorite Quotes

12:54 - "When you start with this red wave bullsh*t, all you do is energize that base. When you say, 'we're going to sweep, we're going to sweep, we're going to sweep it,' all that does is put our side to sleep and energize their side. We need to handle every election like we're 20 points down." - Jim Larkin

22:19 - "For whatever reason, the RINO, the Never Trump Republicans rather send the country in the state down into the toilet than vote for a candidate who happened to be endorsed by Trump. If you look at the state offices, the Republican candidates who did not get a Trump endorsement are winning their races." - Steve Hayes

30:31 - "If you start speaking out against somebody who happens to be black, you're a racist. As soon as you start speaking out on this and saying, Hey, this isn't making sense now. You're an election denier. You're one of those right-wing extremist election deniers." - Jim Larkin

1:07:39 - "We've got everyday patriots out there trying to educate people on the constitution and what the government can and can't do. You can't take the government on until you know what they're allowed to do. Never once on this show have we advocated for militias to take the government on with arms. Never once." - Jim Larkin

E57 - Returning the Constitution to We the People with Author Paul Engel14 Nov 202201:37:45

As a country governed by the same Constitution for more than 200 years, one would expect its citizens to understand better the document that is the foundation of their government. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Americans' lack of knowledge about the Constitution is exacerbated by the fact that most cannot name more than two of the five rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. Despite its importance, there is a disconnect between the American people and the Constitution.

In today's episode of the Pod Bless America Podcast, Jim and Dan get back to basics. They will talk about Jim's passion, The Constitution of the United States of America. Joining them is an author and speaker, Paul Engel. As an advocate of the Constitution, Paul speaks about what motivated him to launch The Constitution Study, how politicians swear to uphold the Constitution but fail to do so, and what the problems with elections are.

Paul Engel has spent more than 20 years studying and teaching about both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. Frustrated by Americans' general lack of knowledge about their Constitution, Paul founded The Constitution Study. His experience with the study has led him to write a book of the same name and develop classes available both online and in-person to encourage others to read, study, and understand the Constitution for themselves.

Enjoy!

12:59 - "Law schools no longer teach the supreme law of the land. They no longer teach the Constitution. For the last four years, I've asked every attorney I've met, "Would you, in law school, study the Constitution or Constitutional law? I've had one man in four years who told me they studied the Constitution in law school. Everyone else studied the opinion of judges." - Paul Engel

37:42 - "We're looking for a big thing, a person, a big thing that fixes this. We didn't break this into one big thing. We broke it into a lot of little things, which leads to the question I always ask, how do you eat a leviathan?" - Paul Engel

40:55 - "The federal government has so little to do with your day-to-day life. Your municipal level has everything to do with your day-to-day life. And you need to start getting involved in those local elections because we need states to tell the federal government we're done." - Jim Larkin

54:23 - "This country today is not nearly as free as the one I inherited from my parents. I want to leave one for my daughter that is greater than what we have today. And the only way I do it is to decide that her ability to live free is more important than me walking away in handcuffs." - Paul Engel

E56 - Guest Cicely Davis, Republican Nominee for Congress, will Face Ilhan Omar Tuesday, Nov 807 Nov 202201:05:12

When the Constitution was written, the founders had a grand vision for the future of America. They wanted a free and independent country with a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Unfortunately, that is not the government we have today. That has to change. We have to take our government back.

In today's episode, Cicely Davis joins Jim and Dan. Running for election to the U.S. House to represent Minnesota's 5th Congressional District, Cicely talks about the security issue affecting downtown Minneapolis, what made her lose faith in the Democrats, and how she plans to restore prosperity to Minneapolis and unify the state's fifth congressional district.

Cicely Davis is a Republican Nominee for Congress in Minnesota's 5th Congressional District. She is running for Congress to end failed leadership by supporting the police, cutting outrageous taxes, and depoliticizing the classrooms to focus on quality education. Cicely's life experience has given her a unique perspective and inspires her to help others prevail under freedom, no matter their background.

Enjoy!

Favorite Quotes

04:38 - "Right now, Minneapolis is not a safe place to work, live or visit. That needs to change." - Cicely Davis

06:34 - "We are down 300 police officers. And when the crime is committed, second count, and people are not getting the hasty response they need. This puts lives and businesses in danger." - Cicely Davis

15:35 - "My message to black voting America right now, particularly for my cut or my pie here in CD 5, is that every skin to me is not kin to me. We have to be willing to accept that just because leaders look like us doesn't mean they're for us. We can begin change if we can go away from that and accept that. I do believe 2024 is going to look very different for black America about the Republican party." - Cicely Davis

42:59 - "When people hear about the fact that they can literally wake up and express themselves freely without worrying about being arrested or killed because of a simple thought or opinion and that they have the right to decide what area they want to focus on and how they can create their wealth and be creative about that, and then pass it on to the next generation, that whole thing is beautiful." - Cicely Davis

46:34 - "The Constitution made this country great. The people that followed that Constitution made this country great. Since the 16th and 17th Amendments back in 1913, we started falling off the rails. And we did nothing to stop it then. But just because it's so out of control doesn't mean we can't stop the bleeding now." - Jim Larkin

51:26 - "Freedom is too high a price to pay. We have to decide what we want America to look like and how America is defined. Families are hurting, and businesses are hurting. And the decisions made by those we call our leaders have let us down. We, the people, by the people, and for the people have the power. We can absolutely vote them out and return the original constructs and the demands of the Constitution." - Cicely Davis

32:19 - "It doesn't make sense when you have frivolous and spurious lawsuits lining up. It doesn't make sense to feed alligators." - Ben Barr

57:43 - "The government is nudging and puppeteering Big Tech, and what a foolish action for sophisticated actors like Facebook and Twitter to open themselves up to that. They've got Section 230. That's a broad grant of immunity against them. They generally have the First Amendment doctrine on their side, so what a foolish step to open those communications and to work in tangent with an administration." - Ben Barr

1:03:32 - "Think about the core of the First Amendment right. Think about Hamilton and Madison coming together and writing anonymously to the people of the United States. Why? Because they wanted a better nation. They wanted to hold those who were corrupt in power accountable. That's the core of the First Amendment." - Ben Barr

1:03:50 - "That's the core of the First Amendment, and to prevent government abuse from the free flow of information, information about what those who hold power over you are doing improperly and incorrectly. That has to be the front and center of this nation's moral commitment." - Ben Barr

Favorite Quotes

28:36 - "I can no longer remain in today's Democratic party that's under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers who are driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms that are enshrined in our constitution, who are hostile to people of faith and spirituality, who demonize the police, but protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans who believe in open borders, who weaponize the national security state to go after their political opponents. I believe in a government that's of the people, by the people, and for the people. Unfortunately, today's Democratic party does not. Instead, it stands for a government that is of, by, and for the powerful elite." - Tulsi Gabbard

31:49 - "The GOP is nothing more than a fundraising entity. They don't run campaigns and don't have a strategic plan in Washington, DC. They're not a group of ideologues like you see on the left. The left is a war-fighting machine. They have subverted every branch of government in every state and every city of this nation." - Jonathan Gilliam

37:40 - The American people live under an illusion that we're going to put people in positions of authority and they're going to save us. Nobody is going to save you if you don't hold them to a standard. If they don't do what they're supposed to and are ideologically driven or careerist, they're out." - Jonathan Gilliam

43:25 - "This wasn't a game to them. This wasn't some move for them. They wanted her out. So since then, she has been very vocal against a lot of the stuff that Democrats are doing. And the fact that she came out and now has said, Look, I'm out." - Jim Larkin

45:32 - "I don't see the Democratic Party as being savable. I know that I can make an impact more from the outside. And I can't be associated with and stand this insanity that's been going on and continues to worsen day by day." - Tulsi Gabbard

They want somebody who is on board with them, who understands them, who understands the problems they have with these school boards, and who is going to go and fight for them and not be a mouthpiece for the superintendent." - Jim Larkin

E48 - Race in America: The False Narrative of Black Lives Matter with Kevin McGary12 Sep 202201:32:16

The Black Lives Matter movement has taken the nation by storm. The group has been protesting police brutality and the systematic oppression of black people in the United States. However, the movement has been co-opted by those who seek to profit from it. It has been used to further the agendas of those who do not have the best interests of the black community.

Woke minions are perpetuating the false narrative that white people are to blame for the problems in the black community. That is not only untrue, but it's also harmful and divisive. But what does it truly mean to embrace all life? How does Every Black Life Matters contrast from Black Lives Matter?

In this episode, we are joined by guests Duane Green (in studio) and Kevin McGary to talk about topics impacting race in America. Duane is a black conservative who is also friends with Jim, and Kevin is the President of Every Black Life Matters. Kevin speaks about the historical origins of racism, how the black community is being misled, and the contrasts between the Black Lives Matter movement and his organization, Every Black Life Matters.

Kevin McGary is an entrepreneur, author, and public speaker. He serves as Chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of California and is an executive with the Douglass Leadership Institute. As the President of Every Black Life Matters, Kevin leads a collection of proactive individuals committed to developing innovative and new approaches to today's socio/political issues. With the assistance of elected officials and a myriad of community activists, he lectures and provides workshops about today's most perplexing issues.

Leadership is a critical skill that is needed in all walks of life. Whether leading a team at work, a group of friends, or your family, being a good leader is essential to success. But, is leadership something you're born with, or is it something that you can learn? That is a question that has been asked throughout history. While there is no one-size-fits-all approach to leadership, what are some of the qualities, core principles, and steps you can follow to become an effective leader?

Today's episode of the Pod Bless America talks about leadership. Jim and Dan share what it takes to be a good leader, their leadership role model and leadership experiences, and the ten steps to good leadership.

Favorite Quotes

12:12 - "It takes a certain individual to be a good leader. You can read all the books you want, and it may help. But if you don't have that ability to lead, it's hard to get it." - Dan Wilkinson Jr.

13:35 - "Nobody is a natural-born leader. Leadership is not innate in you. Nobody knows how to be a leader. That's a skill set." - Jim Larkin

20:20 - "As a leader, your job is to figure out a way to get your people onboard with your vision. Yelling at them, getting them in trouble, threatening to fire them, and only having contact with them when something goes wrong is the worst thing you can do." - Jim Larkin

32:29 - "Being a leader is a team sport. You need to take it all in, and you need to talk to people. See what's working and what's not working." - Jim Larkin

E46 - November is Coming: 5 Things to Look for When Choosing a Candidate29 Aug 202201:12:45

Recent years have been difficult, and there is no doubt about that. Political division, a struggling economy, and a global pandemic have left many people feeling exhausted. The upcoming election in November 2022 will be a crucial opportunity for voters to have their say on the direction the country should take. And it's important to remember that our democracy is only as strong as we make it. When we don't vote, we give up our power to shape the future of our country. When we don't vote, we allow others to make decisions for us.

In this episode, Jim and Dan talk about the upcoming US midterm elections, the five things to look for when choosing a candidate, and what the New Contract with America is all about.

You need to see what's coming, and you're about to get left behind." - Jim Larkin

E45 - Gender Ideology in Schools, Parental Rights, and the Destruction of our Children with January LittleJohn22 Aug 202201:17:32

The fight is not yet over for January Littlejohn, a mother who sued her 13-year-old daughter's school after teachers created a transgender support plan without her consent. The six-page transgender nonconforming support plan took away her ability to protect her daughter. Although the Florida Bill, Parental Rights in Education, strengthens parental rights by preventing teachers and school staffers from withholding information about gender issues from parents, this is still not the right time to sit back.

Today, we are joined by the President, General Counsel, and Founder of Child and Parental Rights Campaign, Inc., Vernadette Broyles, and a mother and licensed mental health professional, January Littlejohn. They talk about how gender ideology almost destroyed January's family and how their fight for children and parents' rights is still on.

Enjoy!

Favorite Quotes

04:40 - "As a mental health professional, gender identity wasn't something I specialized in. Still, I was trained in what gender dysphoria was, and this wasn't registering with what I knew about trans identification and gender dysphoria." - January Littlejohn

08:58 - "They're bringing her in here, talking to her about her sexual identification, something that should be the parents' problem. And the school has decided that they can raise your daughter better than you can." - Jim Larkin

09:48 - "The transgender nonconforming support plan was a six-page document that took away our ability to protect her. They asked her questions that could have significantly impacted her safety and mental health, such as which restrooms she preferred to use and the sex she preferred to room with on overnight field trips. It asked our daughter what name and pronouns they should use at school when speaking to us, the parents. So essentially, everybody would know that our daughter was going by a different name and pronouns, except for us." - January Littlejohn

11:48 - "Parental involvement is critical in the successful outcomes of children at school." - January Littlejohn

17:52 - "The middle school socially transitioned my child. A psychosocial medical intervention they are grossly unqualified to do. And the social transition is the first step toward medical transition." - January Littlejohn

47:56 - "When you deprive a parent of the liberty to raise their child, you're depriving them of a fundamental liberty interest that has been part of America since its founding." - Vernadette R. Boyles

1:07:13 - "Our children are at risk, and they are very being preyed upon. We are manufacturing children who are confused over their sex, and they believe a lie that medical transition is for them." - January Littlejohn

E41 - Wokeism and the Destruction of James Madison's Montpelier25 Jul 202200:54:20

James Madison's Montpelier is a museum of American history and a center for constitutional education. But a recent article in New York Post revealed that "President James Madison's home, Montpelier in Virginia, has been transformed into a museum focusing on slavery and racism instead of the founding father. No American flags fly at Montpelier, Madison's plantation home in rural Virginia, and not a single display focuses on the life and accomplishments of America's foremost political philosopher, who created our three-branch federal system of government, wrote the Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers, and served two terms as president."

In this episode, Jim and Dan talk about how James Madison's home has been overrun by wokeism, an ideology based on the belief that America is an oppressive, racist country.

To walk through that mall and kill all these people, Elijah Dicken has more courage than those cops in Uvalde combined." - Jim Larkin

16:41 - "On cue, Twitter, losing their f*cking minds. Liberals losing their f*cking minds. I can't believe he is in a gun-free zone. They're saying we shouldn't be celebrating him because he was in a gun-free zone and had a gun. He should be brought up on charges. He saved hundreds of people's lives." - Jim Larkin and Dan Wilkinson

34:45 - "F*ck Montpelier. It's a private board that runs that. F*ck them. They know the history but allow Rubenstein to come in with his money. And they're willing to rewrite history." - Jim Larkin

42:47 - "People can't live anymore. They have to choose between feeding their families, paying their bills, paying their gas bills, and paying their electric bills. And this is what NDAA is worried about. They're worried about troops having access to abortion." - Jim Larkin

41:15 - "When I first started practicing law, representing defendants and everything else, and meeting with them in jail, almost every defendant had either a drug or mental health issue. But once you got them off of that, they were good people and not conveying crimes and were productive members of society. Many people out there that have drug or addiction issues are good people." - Nathan Manning

49:30 - "I have no problem with the federal government being involved in National Security because they're allowed to be involved in National Security. Do you know what they're not allowed to be involved in? States' Rights, Department of Labor, Education, and Welfare. They're not allowed to be involved in any of that." - Jim Larkin

E39 - Vietnam Stories with Jim Jay Larkin: Part 211 Jul 202201:07:00

There is no one formula for building a good reputation in the military. It takes a combination of many factors, including character, competence, and courage. Military service is both an organization and a way of life, and every member brings their own perspective and experiences to the table. No one wakes up one day and finds themselves with an excellent reputation. It is something that is earned over time through consistently good behavior and actions.

This episode of the Pod Bless America tells the second part of Jim Jay Larkin's story. This time, along with being a well-respected Navy pilot, he will share his experience as the leader of the FBI SWAT team, the cases he had been through, and how all his hard work paid off in the military community.

Enjoy!

In This Episode

02:11- A Chicago story from the summer of '71

16:19 - More stories of Navy pilots during the Vietnam War

22:47 - What it's like for Jim to know that people were killed in a war

32:37 - Jim's reputation in the military

35:47 - Why Jim left the Navy

40:59 - How he got involved in the D.B. Cooper hijacking case

49:31 - How Jim handled the Detroit bank robbery

58:24 - What Jim and his dad have in common

Favorite Quotes

09:48 - "The job I felt most proud about was helping guys on the ground so they wouldn't be overrun. But I have no idea whether those guys ever survived. I don't know whether everything we did enabled them to get extracted from that mess or whether they were overrun and killed. And that's why I started crying." - Jim Jay Larkin

37:02 - "When I was growing up, there were only three things I wanted to be in life. One was a Navy pilot, one was an FBI agent, and one was an Indian chief. So, I'm going to try the number two thing." - Jim Jay Larkin

51:20 - "I'm not going to risk the lives of our SWAT. Those guys are on their drum magazines with thousands of armored piercing rounds. They're going to kill us, and I'm not going to do it. No, you're ordered to do it. I said I'm not doing it. I'm not doing it." - Jim Jay Larkin

1:05:37 - "I feel a little awkward being here trying to be the center of attention. I'm not involved in law enforcement or the Navy anymore, but I'm very proud of that. For some reason that I don't understand, I'm proud that most people see me as not just a Navy pilot but a pretty good Navy pilot. They saw me as not just an FBI agent but a good FBI agent. It gives me more pride than anything else. And I also am embarrassed when it sounds like I'm blowing my horn. But when I was a 10-year-old kid, I never thought that anybody would respect me well enough to think that of me." - Jim Jay Larkin

It's not going to hurt one bit. All of a sudden, I'm going to be gone from a conscious mode to I'm gone." - Jim Jay Larkin

1:16:24 - "From day one, when I read about Robinson Risner, I always questioned whether I was capable of doing what I wanted to do or whether I could even be an air force pilot or a Navy pilot.
