Stop Apologizing for Taking Up Space (Compassion Starts Here)
What if compassion doesn’t start out there… but within?
In this episode of Picture Love, I’m sharing what compassion looks like in real life—especially on the days when things feel heavy, uncertain, or just a little harder than usual.
We talk about why so many of us apologize for simply taking up space… and how self-compassion can gently shift that.
This isn’t about carrying everyone else’s emotions or fixing the world.
It’s about learning to stay open, present, and kind to yourself—so you can show up with more clarity, more capacity, and more love.
There’s also a simple invitation woven through this episode:
To notice the “winks” in your life… the quiet reminders that say, keep going—this matters.
And maybe, to offer that same reminder to someone else.
New day - marking the 2500 download milestone it was time for a fresh evergreen intro
In this episode of the Picture Love Podcast, I’m exploring what it means to meet truth with kindness, presence, and discernment instead of panic.
What began as part of a planned sequence became a real-life lesson in practicing what I preach — and a surprisingly aligned conversation with Tahlia, who returns with story, humor, and wisdom right on time.
Together, we explore how truth can become part of the support instead of something to brace against… and why not everything that rises is ours to keep.
If something is coming up for you lately, this is your gentle reminder:
one kind thought, one present breath, and one honest next step.
💗 Keep Picturing Love through truth.

In this reflective episode of the Picture Love Podcast, Kris reintroduces herself — not through titles or resumes, but through presence.
From music teacher to entrepreneur, from branding strategy to personal evolution, this conversation honors every version of who we’ve been while embracing who we’re becoming.
This episode explores:
• Letting go of personal branding pressure • Thanking your younger self for the lessons • Living on your growth edges • Choosing authenticity over performance • Filling your cup first, then sharing from overflow
If you’ve ever outgrown a role, shifted identities, or felt “weird” for evolving — this one’s for you.
Dedicated to those committed to a healing journey, who are needing to look at their photos as part of the process.
You may think Kris has lost her marbles (apologies to those feeling triggered).
But seriously, there is so much love in our pictures, and on the flip side of that, there are many photos that keep us from finding that love, holding us back through guilt, clutter and other images that keep us in patterns of pain.
Kris LeDonne, host of Picture Love Podcast offers some deeper reflections on how destroying photos mindfully, can be an important way to break cycles, heal ourselves and even re-parent one's inner child, who needs a voice.
Top 3 reasons include:
When there are too many redundancies
When they hurt someone else
When they hurt ourselves
Other valuable thoughts include: NOT letting legacies be made from clutter, Letting loved ones have the images they want while letting go of the ones that cause you blocks, and extra healing thoughts to support our journey. All presented with love

Host Kris LeDonne reflects on a nugget from last week's episode of Picture Love, when Kathryn Garland shared her perspective on candid photos of her everyday moments.
Key themes and ideas of this short episode include:
Noticing the gratitude of a moment - whether or not you have a photo- but giving it the focus and energy that attracts more experiences to appreciate
Sometimes a photo that reminds us of someone we lost is a powerful way to celebrate that life and connection.
A compliment that changed the trajectory of the day
Photos help us be more conscious of that love in beautiful experiences
Don't Dodge out of the frame- allow yourself to be in a photo, because it matters to the people who share a memory with you.
Go ahead, capture the moment, then put the device away and make the memory. It'll be waiting for you.
Look for everyday moments you can enjoy today
Kris shares a new offering: mixed media photo art pieces or grouping- starting to be shared on her Instagram @Krisreminisce
Inspiration: Display a collection of photos with positive feelings, to be greeted with images of things that have beautiful and healing emotions attached to them.
Join host Kris LeDonne and guest Kathryn Garland, host of Homespun podcast, for a heartfelt conversation, rich with reflection on home, family and the ways we can foster stronger connections with ourselves and our loved ones. She is a certified teacher who has dabbled in many areas before realizing her heart is entirely in her home and her truest desire is to create a happy house for her family. Kris LeDonne is pleased to share a heartfelt conversation with Kristin Wilson, the host of the Solidarity Sister! podcast.
In this episode, Kristin indulges us with reminiscence of stories with family life, her personal goals, limits and lessons and how community is woven throughout all of it.
The Solidarity Sister! podcast and corresponding FB group are designed to empower women with practical tools for building powerful communities and leaning in through both joy and trauma. Kristin knows what it's like to desperately need help and not know how to ask and to see a friend in need and not know how to show up. She is on a journey to figure this out and is inviting other women to do it alongside her. Kristin has been married for 25 years and is the mother of 8 children.
Kris LeDonne created this episode to hold space for each of us to take a mental inventory of who's voices remain in our thoughts. You may be past this point in your life, or you're not ready to go there yet, ... or maybe you're like me and realize your life is like an onion and each layer reveals new levels of sweetness and powerful emotion. You are invited to unpack the head stuff that keeps our hearts from being heard:
Let's bless & release things that served us at some point but we've outgrown
Declutter the thoughts that serve nobody and take them out with the trash
Dust the shelves that held the wrong items for too long and thank them for hold up
And celebrate, polish and display the things that really do reflect our best selves TODAY and that honor a better presence in our lives!
Smile knowing it's part of life and will need to happen again at different times... and that's OKAY!
Above all, love yourself and your heart will be able to love others more fully.
Let's picture love together!

Fellow podcasters Kris LeDonne and Christy Fontaine engage in heartfelt conversation about showing up "as you are" with candid perspectives on living life as the best version of ourselves, in the many roles we fill. Here are some key takeaways from this conversation:
It's OK to ask for help, receive help and it doesn't make you less of anything.
There is joy on holding somebody else's shovel when we do it from a place of intention and not obligation
A lot can be learned from looking at a picture of ourselves a year ago to measure back and decide what went well and how we might need to grow going forward
There is so much joy and freedom when we let go of old beliefs & stories that just don't fit us anymore
We can never fully, love somebody else if we don't love ourselves
Humor is a tool of resiliency that allows us to laugh at ourselves, and find hidden joys in the imperfection of life
Laugh out loud and don't worry who's looking.
Reminiscing through old photos can reconnect us to our roots & it's important to protect them so they can be enjoyed and shared when they're needed most.
Even when you can't find that special picture, there's still joy in retelling special moments.
Never underestimate the sentimental power of a handwritten note.

Here's a special spin on the common "Practicing Gratitude" or "Giving Thanks" theme that we often talk around this time of year. I respectfully agree with these concepts however, want to help offer a way to take a deeper dive and application of that intention today.
What if we transmute the concept of a "to do list" into to a "To appreciate" list. The difference is as close and as opposite as the reverse side of a coin. Instead of "I have to go to..." choosing "I get to go.... which affords me...." is such a different energy and such a freeing way to look at life.
There are so many benefits that come from this re-frame, I restrained myself from listing it with compassion for the listeners... you don't need a 10th grade persuasive essay on the benefits of being more positive. Instead let's have some fun, and give ourselves the gift of practical application and some extra fun with a GIVEAWAY!
Here's how to be entered into the Appreciation Giveaway:
listen to the episode (so you know what's going on) then rate and review on Apple podcasts. note: if you did already - THANK YOU- just click over to Spotify to rate.
Take a screenshot of this episode and share on Instagram or Facebook and tag me @KrisReminisce (I love to reshare your stories!!!)
On the same platform where you shared (IG or FB) go to the post about this Appreciation Giveaway- Like and comment with a "Get to" or "appreciation" statement for an entry
BONUS: for every friend you tag on that same post, I'll enter you another time.
DOUBLE BONUS: (Not mentioned in the episode) if you do it on BOTH Insta & FB I'll double your entries.
WHAT'S THE POINT?
Let's cause a virtual tidal wave of appreciation that benefits us, those we influence and see how far the ripples will reach.
Entries close 11/25/23 and a winner will be announced on the November 28th episode!!! I will design a custom collage for the lucky winner.
Let's Picture Love and see how many people we can get to think APPRECIATION with us!

We (all photo lovers) care about preserving our very best parts, to bask in now, share with others and create even brighter futures. When we are mindful about these efforts, our photos can be a powerful tool for good.
Now that we record history every day on our cell phones, through social sharing and our cameras, the convenience is great and the clutter can be even greater.
If tackling (tidying up) your camera roll sounds like a really great goal for you today, that might open up to other memory preservation in the future, I have something to help you get that bite-sized win!

One Womens Club in Pocono Mountains, PA has a legacy of love, serving, educating and supporting their community for decades- and it's all captured in beautiful scrapbooks, documenting key events in their history. I've been honored to collaborate with them (PMWC) to preserve these treasures so they are not only accessible digitally, but to preserve these stories and lessons for future generations of womens clubs!
It goes deeper than album scanning. Deeper than files shared in a link... This is about connecting and supporting stronger communities and fostering a spirit of love and unity to enrich today and inspire tomorrows leaders. Don't we all want to feel a part of something bigger and grander than an individual? That's because we are all connected, and sharing these memories reminds us of exactly that.
In addition to this story, you'll hear some of the "science" behind album preservation (how some materials age more gracefully than others) a free tool to support you by removing overwhelm while in pursuit of time-proofing memories, and an invitation to take a step towards picturing love through triple-heart transformations.
It's my home you'll Picture [lasting community] Love for yourself and others.

In this episode of Picture Love Podcast, I shared a HAPPY personal story about funny stories coming full circle. It all started on our first date (we just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary). My husband shared a parts of his childhood with me, only to find a film reel documenting it 20 years into our marriage! Sharing this story with our kids allowed us to share bits of our past with them, to make them feel farther down into our family roots.
Sharing stories like this is another way to deepen relationships, uncover blessings and of course… tidy up old clutter as a result. Photo organizers will rejoice when cleaning out old formats deliver such enriching rewards!

I asked a group of moms to give me some feedback on the state of their photos and many had complaints and concerns I expected, however one voice caused “pattern interrupt” and I’m sure she’s not the only one.
We can “do pictures differently” and think of them with greater intention; We can let the ego take a break and hand the mic to our hearts for a change. It’s amazing what we will uncover. In this case, being in a photo can be the photo evidence of how WE SHOWED UP to be with those we love, serve and influence.
Being IN PHOTOS, does not have to be a beauty contest; It can be messy-haired, unfocused, and at any angle… but sexy or not, it’s BEING PRESENT in our lives and leaving evidence of that.
Let’s give ourselves and others permission to SHOW UP, be present and Picture Love better than ever before.

Here’s a brief introduction to Picture LoveTM and what we’ll be enjoying on this journey centered around curating photo collections of our lives well lived.
In this episode of Picture Love, host Kris shares a vivid early-morning dream that led to a powerful realization about repetition, self-blame, and grace.
What if the moments we label as loops (repeating thoughts, questions, or patterns) aren’t signs that we’re stuck or failing?
What if they’re actually love, giving us another chance?
Through a dream involving newborn puppies, a gentle protector, and my own instinct to fix instead of notice, this episode explores how quickly curiosity can turn into pressure, and how much freedom becomes available when we soften that reflex.
This conversation invites a new way of seeing repetition: not as a cage, but as mercy. Not as delay, but as space. Not as failure, but as infinite love meeting us again.
Inside this episode, we explore:
Why repetition may be offering grace, not punishment
How the urge to fix can obscure what’s already being held
The difference between urgency and curiosity
How sovereignty returns when we allow ourselves to see differently
A gentle mantra is shared in this episode for anyone needing support in releasing what was never theirs to carry.

What if a single voice- your voice- could shift the frequency of the world?
In this soul-stirring episode of Picture Love, Kris LeDonne shares a visionary meditation that blossomed from a single memory… and expanded into a peaceful revolution.
Inspired by the 1966 animated The Grinch Stole Christmas movie and the timeless truth of harmony through song, this guided visualization invites you into a world where love is louder than fear… where one small voice becomes many… and where the beast of division melts under the warmth of unity.
This is more than a podcast. It’s a frequency. A living prayer. A blueprint for collective healing through sound, resonance, and remembrance.
Whether you listen actively or simply receive with an open heart, you are part of this chorus.
You are invited to Picture Love with us now. Again and again.

When crisis strikes and the headlines stay silent, what do we do with the fear that rises?
In this raw, unscripted episode, Kris shares what happened when her daughter’s school went into lockdown after a bomb threat—and no news outlet offered real-time updates. Everyone is safe, but the silence spoke volumes.
This is not a story about panic. It’s a reflection on truth-telling, media noise, and what it means to return to peace in a world addicted to fear.
🔍 Inside this episode:
A personal brush with emergency on her daughter’s 23rd birthday
The disturbing realization that even helpful businesses can rely on fear-based sales
A call to rise above doom-scrolling, empty headlines, and fear marketing
The shift from reaction to response, from spiraling to sovereignty
A mantra to support you in heavy emotional moments
For anyone overwhelmed by today’s world, here’s your soft landing. A space for clarity, compassion, and choosing peace again when you’re ready.
💛 Mantra from this episode:
“I allow myself to feel this moment. My reaction is real. I can hold truth and tenderness, rage and rest. I trust my peace. I will picture love again when I’m ready.”

2025 was full—beautiful, exhausting, and deeply shaping. In this episode, I’m sharing the biggest lessons I’m carrying forward: staying peaceful without joining the chaos, boundaries as love in action, listening to the body as wisdom, loving people without suffering for them, strengthening discernment, and remembering that being is doing.
I also offer a simple 6-prompt “Thank You Note to 2025” you can use as a quick, heart-led year-end ritual—written, spoken, or felt.
Dear 2025, the moment I thank you for most is ______.
The strength I discovered in myself was ______.
The part of me that healed/returned home was ______.
The love I received (and gave) looked like ______.
The truth I’m carrying into 2026 is ______.
The way my body tried to love me this year was ______.
If something resonates, share this episode with a friend who needs a gentle way to close the year—and leave a review if Picture Love has supported your heart.

In this episode, I (host, Kris LeDonne) share a story about a total stranger who sat beside me on the beach and reminded me what safe space really feels like. No advice, no fixing—just presence. And it changed everything.
Together, we’ll talk about what “holding space” truly means, why it matters more than ever, and how we can practice compassion without carrying someone else’s pain.
You’ll hear: 💗 The 10-minute beach conversation that shifted my whole evening 💗 What my grandmother taught me about holding space through heartbreak 💗 The three things you never do when holding space for someone 💗 Gentle ways to offer presence instead of advice
This episode is actually like a love letter to anyone who’s ever needed to be heard… and to those learning to listen with their whole heart.
If someone has ever held space for you, send them this episode as a thank-you. And if you’re the one who holds space for others—thank you. You’re helping picture love into our world.

What if one of the most powerful things you can do right now… is simply be more present?
In this heartfelt episode of Picture Love Podcast, I’m reflecting on the very human ways we all drift — zoning out while reading, walking into a room and forgetting why, or picking up the phone for one quick thing and ending up 20 minutes deep in distractions we never meant to follow.
But this episode goes deeper than everyday absentmindedness.
This is a loving invitation to notice where your attention has been going… and to gently call your power back.
I’m sharing why presence matters so much in a world that constantly competes for our focus, how distraction can quietly rob us of the life we’re actually living, and why being more intentional with our energy is one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves and the people we love.
In this episode, we explore:
common signs you’ve drifted out of the present moment
why your attention is more valuable than you think
how fear, noise, and division can pull us away from whole living
what it means to choose people over sides
why forgiveness can be part of reclaiming your peace
a gentle reminder to come back to your body, your senses, and your life
If you’ve been feeling scattered, overstimulated, or simply ready to stop giving so much of yourself away to things that don’t deserve your energy, this episode is for you.
Because your life is happening now. And your presence? It’s part of your power.
Until next time… keep Picturing Love.

What if some of your most normal phrases are quietly hitting the gas and the brake on your life?
In this episode, Kris shares how a loving compliment from her dear friend Lily opened her eyes to “word spells”—those everyday sayings like “hope for the best, prepare for the worst,” “don’t get your hopes up,” and “I’m just being realistic” that mix hope with fear and keep us stuck.
You’ll hear gentler, truer replacements (like “What’s meant for me can’t miss me” and “I’m allowed to experience good things like this”), plus a simple 30-second, 3-step ritual to:
Catch the “two-foot driver” phrases
Find the real desire underneath them
Speak in the direction you actually want to go
If your words have ever sounded calm on the outside but chaotic on the inside, this one will help you become the master of your own word spells—with more ease and a lot less inner whiplash.

In a world overflowing with noise, urgency, and endless distraction, it’s easy to forget the medicine that’s been with us since childhood: levity, laughter, and face-to-face connection.
In this episode, Kris explores why joy is not a luxury, but a form of nourishment — a spiritual technology that reconnects us to each other and to the truth of who we are. Through the lens of “Game Time Unplugged,” she reflects on the power of gathering around a table, sharing belly laughs, and rediscovering real human presence without screens.
You’ll hear: • Why levity regulates the nervous system • How analog play helps us remember our oneness • The magic of rituals that bring families + neighbors together • Stories of laughter, mischief, and moments that melt stress away

This episode is an invitation to reclaim joy as nourishment, to laugh freely again, and to make levity a ritual we return to again and again.
Let’s picture love in motion — starting with one shared moment of play.
New day - marking the 2500 download milestone it was time for a fresh evergreen intro
In this short but powerful episode, Kris offers a compassionate bridge for anyone who listened to last week’s conversation about appreciation and thought, “I’m not there yet.”
Today’s message is for the tender ones… the tired ones… and the ones stuck in a story they don’t quite know how to step out of. With empathy and clarity, Kris explores the difference between presence and repetition, and why grief held in both the body and the mind requires two different kinds of attention in order to heal.
Together we explore:
✨ Why grief lives in both the body and the mind — and why they don’t heal the same way ✨ How ‘truth’ softens and opens you, while ‘loops’ tighten and exhaust your system ✨ Three gentle questions that create real shift (not bypass, not pressure) ✨ Why retelling your whole backstory doesn’t bring relief — and what actually does ✨ A loving message from Riven, Elira, and Soraya on leaving the familiar pain-loop with compassion
Kris reminds us: “Wherever you are is not a failure — it’s an honest beginning.”
In this unscripted heart-to-heart, Kris LeDonne invites you to explore the beauty of being in progress. After recording the Soraya episode, she realized how many fears — judgment, rejection, comparison, even success — had quietly been keeping her small. This conversation is about moving past those fears, rediscovering creative confidence, and learning to appreciate yourself right where you are.
IN THIS EPISODE:
The courage to be seen before you’re “ready”
Why fear of judgment begins as self-judgment
Turning comparison into curiosity and inspiration
How appreciation (not just gratitude) unlocks creative flow
The real-life story behind Kris’s handmade “jellyfish chandelier”
A gentle practice to help you appreciate your process and your becoming
If this episode lights something up in you, please share it with a friend who’s learning to show up in progress. Your presence and your process are both worthy of appreciation.
After a sacred pause that turned into a full season of becoming, Kris returns to the mic with a voice that’s steadier, softer, and more real than ever. In this first episode of the Picture Love Collective era, we meet Soraya, the Keeper of Trust — a frequency of faith, gentleness, and quiet courage.
Together we explore what it means to:
Release people-pleasing and reclaim inner permission
Honor the house that once kept you safe before stepping into new space
Celebrate “the wobble” between identities as a sign of growth
Ground trust through ritual, tenderness, and community connection
You’ll hear how Soraya’s luminous presence intertwines with Elira and Riven — a circle of energies representing compassion, truth, and remembrance — and how these voices echo the process we all face when our hearts expand beyond old structures.
Through laughter, humility, and a few joyful imperfections, Kris reminds us that authenticity isn’t performance — it’s participation. The sound of paws, the warmth of breath, the hum of home — everything belongs here.
🌿 Listen for these Soul Sparks
“You didn’t build a faulty house; you built a safe one. Now you’re growing.”
“Trust is a muscle, not a mood.”
“You’re not behind — you’re beneath. And what grows beneath holds everything.”
“Trust is the knowing that I’m held, even when I can’t see the hands.”
💬 For Your Reflection
Where am I being invited to trust my own unfolding?
What safe structures or identities am I ready to thank and release?
How might I let others witness my not-knowing as sacred instead of shameful?
✨ A Closing Note

New day - marking the 2500 download milestone it was time for a fresh evergreen intro
Today’s episode is a little different—because I’m giving myself permission to pause before life forces me into one.
Behind the scenes, I’ve been pouring heart and hours into the new Spirit Guide interview series (Riven, Elira, Soraya…). These stories take 12–18 hours each to birth, and while I love them deeply, my family and my body are asking me to slow down.
So this minisode is my reminder (to myself, and maybe to you too): rest is part of the work. We don’t need to force what’s unfolding naturally. Just like we don’t rush a child to walk before they’re ready, we can honor the pace of our own becoming.
In this minisode, I share: ✨ The truth about how much time these episodes take ✨ Why I refuse to release Soraya’s story before it’s ready ✨ What it means to take a chosen break instead of a forced one ✨ How presence with family can be the greatest gift of love
If you’re new here, scroll back through over 100 episodes of Picture Love Podcast, including the Spirit Guide conversations that began in spring 2025. Each one is part of this unfolding journey of love, growth, and remembrance.
From my heart to yours—thank you for being here. I’m cheering for you. 💗

🔨 “You’re not fragile. You’re forged.” In this powerful spirit interview, meet Riven — a voice for those who carry fire in their chest and truth on the edge of their tongue.
Once known as Marek — a rule-bound keeper of systems — Riven walked through grief, betrayal, and rage to become something new. Now, as a guardian of the forge, he speaks for the ones who are breaking free from the systems that once silenced them.
✨ This episode explores:
What it means to be forged, not broken
The origin story of Riven and his rebirth from Marek
How to hold space without fixing or shrinking
What to do when you’re carrying rage, grief, or unspoken truth
How to be the bellows, not the blacksmith, for someone in transformation
Riven’s personal message for those on the brink of becoming
🖤 This is for the quiet warriors. The loud feelers. The ones who’ve held too much for too long. Riven’s words land like a hammer — but open the heart like a flame.
🎙️ The voice of Riven is brought to life by Sarah, a soul whose journey of resilience mirrors the spirit of this episode. Her voice has been lovingly modulated to reflect Riven’s frequency.
More about Sarah:
Sarah is searching for beauty and joy in an era when even those feel like radical goals. She finds them abundantly in words, dance, music, nature, her friends, and her beloved dog, Poe. After a traumatic and life-altering car accident nearly 3 years ago, Sarah has been heavily focused on personal growth, still recovering both physically and emotionally. She perseveres through the horrors with an emboldened drive to return to school to earn her Masters in counseling to support others through their grief, and hopes that, collectively, we can heal the broader, communal traumas that plague a neglected society, through service and love.
Ever feel like it’s your job to keep everyone happy? This episode is a love letter to you—the beautiful souls who carry more than their share, shrink to keep the peace, or put others first at their own expense.
In Part 3 of this soul-soothing mini-series on letting go, Kris shares her own journey of moving cross-state, navigating big life changes, and finally releasing the mental pressure to manage everyone else’s comfort.
This one’s not about blaming or shaming—it’s about breathing deeper, trusting more, and remembering that you are already enough.
✨ In this episode: – Why trying to manage other people’s happiness creates resistance – A personal story of surrender and unexpected ease – How to support others without abandoning yourself – A grounding affirmation to call in more joy, ease, and aligned magnetism – What happens when you say, “Hey Life, show me how good it can get.”
💌 This episode closes with a simple but powerful practice. One that just might change your entire day.
