Valerie Delforge on Breaking Free From Micromanagement (Rerun, Part 2)

Season 8 · Episode 298

dimanche 29 septembre 2024Duration 42:09

[298] Ever wondered which leadership style best matches your personality? Or how to lead effectively without formal management training? In the second part of the conversation with Valerie Delforge (International Business Strategy Consultant & Author), we shift our focus to the consequences and solutions to micromanagement.

More specifically, through sharing anecdotes from our own default leadership styles, we unpack the strengths and challenges associated with six main leadership profiles, explore the softer skills that build resilient leaders and provide actionable strategies to create healthier, more efficient business environments.

Parts of this conversation were originally released in December 2016 and October 2017 as part of Season 1.

Season 8 · Episode 297

dimanche 29 septembre 2024Duration 39:30

Christopher Aaron on Walking the Talk of Inclusion & Catering for All Types of Hair

Season 5 · Episode 215

lundi 19 juillet 2021Duration 35:59

[215] We often talk about creating and fostering welcoming salon spaces for all clients, but are we truly walking the talk if some clients have to travel outside of their neighbourhood to get even just a simple cut and style?

Featuring Christopher Aaron (@christopheraaronstudio on Instagram), Advanced Healing Artist for L'ANZA and Salon Centric influencer, this week's episode explores the relationship between hair and identity, the barriers to catering for all types of hair, and discusses fostering inclusion both from an individual and industry-wide perspective.

Offering an inclusive experience in your salon doesn't necessarily mean completely changing your setup or services. However, it at least means outgrowing our comfort zone as hairstylists, and to that, there are plenty of benefits.
