Fall 2025 Update05 Dec 202501:06:20

This is the Fall 2025 Edition of my audio newsletter. In this episode, I update you on my business, both of my podcasts, my family, and what I've been listening to, reading, watching, and playing between August 22-December 3, 2025. This is my last Fall update because I'm switching from a weekly format to a monthly format in February 2026.

The FULL show notes are on https://www.thepharmacistsvoice.com. Click the podcast tab, and select episode 359.

Host background (December 2025)

Kim Newlove is an Ohio-licensed pharmacist. She graduated from The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy with her BS Pharm in 2001. She has experience in hospital, retail, compounding, and behavioral health. Kim is not in clinical practice anymore. Instead, she uses my voice to write, narrate, and podcast—drawing on her experience to help others share their own voices through spoken and written content.

How do you say Journavx? (Pronunciation Series Episode 68)28 Nov 202500:07:53

This is the 68th episode in my drug pronunciation series. In this episode, I divide Journavx and suzetrigine into syllables, tell you which syllables to emphasize, and share my sources. The written pronunciations are below and in the show notes on https://www.thepharmacistsvoice.com. Special thanks to Kelly Glynn at Vertex Pharmaceuticals for nominating Journavx for this episode.

Note: we don't cover pharmacology in this series. Just pronunciations.

Journavx = jur-NAV-ix

  • jur, like Journey (Bringing Journavx to market was a long journey ~27 years.)
  • NAV, which is the name of the voltage-gated sodium channel that Journavx blocks. Journavx blocks NAV 1.8.
  • ix, like "fix."
  • Emphasize NAV.
  • The written pronunciation came from tweaking the written pronunciation in the Patient Information section of the prescribing information for Journavx (accessed 11-25-2025).
  • My source for the spoken pronunciation is journavx.com. Click the small *speaker* symbol next to the word "Journavx" on the landing page to hear the pronunciation. As an alternative, listen to the videos on journavx.com and journavxhcp.com (accessed 11-25-25).

Suzetrigine = soo-ZE-tri-jeen

  • soo, as in Journavx soothes pain
  • ZE,  like zest
  • tri, like trigger
  • jeen, like the word "gene" (as in genetic)
  • Emphasize the second syllable, "ZE."
  • My source for the written pronunciation is the American Medical Association's website. Special thanks to Simran at Vertex Pharmaceuticals Global Medical Information Department for helping me find the written pronunciation!
  • The spoken pronunciation of suzetrigine can be heard in the MOA video on journavxhcp.com (accessed 11-25-25).

If you know someone who would like to learn how to say Journavx or suzetrigine, please share this episode with them. Subscribe for all future episodes. This podcast is on all major podcast players and YouTube. Popular links are below. ⬇️

How do you say acetaminophen? (Pronunciation Series Episode 64)26 Sep 202500:06:04

This is the 64th episode in my drug pronunciation series. In this episode, I divide acetaminophen and Tylenol into syllables, tell you which syllables to emphasize, and share my sources. The written pronunciations are below and in the show notes on https://www.thepharmacistsvoice.com.

It's easy to say a drug name correctly when you have the phonetic pronunciation written into your notes/script/on your teleprompter. Try it, and practice.

Note: we don't cover pharmacology in this series. Just pronunciations. The FULL show notes are available at https://www.thepharmacistsvoice.com/podcast

Acetaminophen = a-SEET-a-MIN-oh-fen or uh-SEET-uh-MIN-uh-fin

  • a, like the "A" in the word, "adoption" (sounds like "uh").
  • SEET, like a bike seat
  • a, which is that short "A" sound again (sounds like "uh").
  • MIN, like minute
  • o, which is a schwa "O" sound, like the "O" in the word "astronaut" (sounds like "uh").
  • fen, like a fin on a fish
  • Source for the written pronunciation = drugs.com or the USP Dictionary Online
  • Source for the spoken pronunciation = drugs.com (accessed 9-24-25)

Tylenol = TY-luh-nall

  • TY, like you tie your shoes
  • luh, like lullaby
  • nall, which rhymes with y'all. (After this podcast episode, y'all should know how to say Tylenol and acetaminophen.) 😉
  • Source for the written pronunciation = I made a simple one up, and there is also one on https://www.merriam-webster.com and google.com.
  • Source for the spoken pronunciation = drugs.com, m-w.com, google.com

Thank for listening to the 64th episode in my drug pronunciation series!

How do you say ketorolac? Pronunciation Series Episode 2405 Jan 202400:07:34

This is the 24th episode in my drug name pronunciation series.  Today, we're talking about ketorolac (Toradol®).  I have heard ketorolac pronounced three different ways.  How do you say it?

If you're new to my drug name pronunciation series, welcome! In this episode, I divide ketorolac and Toradol into syllables, explain which syllables you need to emphasize, and reveal the sources of my information.  Seeing the written pronunciations is helpful, so the written pronunciations are below and in the show notes on thepharmacistsvoice.com.

Ke-TOR-a-LAC

    • Emphasize TOR and LAC
    • TOR gets the most emphasis

TOR-a-DOL

    • Emphasize TOR and DOL
    • TOR gets the most emphasis

The purpose of my pronunciation episodes is to provide the intended pronunciations of drug names from reliable sources so you feel more confident saying them and less frustrated learning them.

My Novel Career in Pharmacy Speech for Pharmacy Students15 Dec 202300:47:18

This is an encore presentation of a speech I gave to a class of P3 students in the "Exploring Novel Careers in Pharmacy" elective at The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy during Fall Semester 2023.

This episode is also available via video on my YouTube channel.  YouTube.com/@thepharmacistsvoice or type @thepharmacistsvoice in a YouTube app.

The instructor's name is Dr. Michelle Schroeder, and the class was conducted via WebEx.  I had up to 35 minutes to speak about my Novel Career in Pharmacy and 15 minutes for questions, 50 minutes total. Delivering a powerpoint presentation was recommended (but I used Canva), and I was given a list of topics to discuss from my past, present, and future + advice.  I did not speak for the full 35 minutes, and the students were happy to fill the remainder of the class time with questions. They all had good questions, and I share the two that stuck out most to me at the end of this episode.

Here is the introduction that Dr. Schroder read as she introduced me:

Kim Newlove is an Ohio pharmacist. She graduated from The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy with her BS Pharm in 2001. Her clinical experience includes hospital, retail, compounding, and behavioral health.

Kim is no longer in clinical practice.  Instead, she is self-employed in two non-traditional roles.

First, Kim is a full-time, Independent Caregiver through the Ohio Dept of Developmental Disabilities (DODD). With that role, Kim provides care directly to an adult with a developmental disability in Wood County, Ohio.  She has an NPI number and an Ohio Medicaid billing number.

Second, Kim is a voice actor and podcast host.  She founded The Pharmacist's Voice ®, LLC in 2017, and launched The Pharmacist's Voice ® Podcast in 2019.  Her website is https://www.thepharmacistsvoice.com.  She is also the host of The Perrysburg Podcast, which you can find at www.perrysburgpodcast.com

Kim is a go-to pharmacist in audio production.  She believes in the transformative power of well-communicated messages, and her mission is to connect with her audience so that they trust her message.  Her delivery style is confident and trustworthy.

In her spare time, Kim enjoys spending time with family, playing Ticket to Ride Switzerland 🇨🇭, swimming, and riding her BMW C400X motorbike. 🇩🇪

The most memorable questions I was asked:

  1. "What's your why? Why become a voice actor and a podcast host."
  2. "Who is your white whale? Meaning…Who is the #1 person you want to interview, but you think they're out of reach for whatever reason?"

Interview with RDML Pam Schweitzer, PharmD (Ret) - Veterans Day 202310 Nov 202300:52:41

RDML Pam Schweitzer, PharmD returns to the podcast today to talk about Veterans Day and the PBS Documentary Invisible Corps.  Dr. Schweitzer was also featured in episodes 185 and 229 of The Pharmacist's Voice ® Podcast.

November 11 is Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a US holiday celebrated annually to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.  On Veterans Day, we thank veterans for their service.  Thank you veterans!  Why talk about the documentary in this episode?  Because it features veterans of the United States Public Health Commissioned Corps.  It fits into my Veterans Day theme.

Bio (November 2023)

Rear Admiral (RDML) Pamela Schweitzer retired in September 2018 from a four-year term as the Assistant Surgeon General and 10th Chief Pharmacist Officer of the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps. As Chief Pharmacist Officer (first female in this role), Schweitzer was responsible for providing leadership and coordination of more than 1,300 PHS pharmacy officers in thirteen agencies with the Office of the Surgeon General and the Department of Health & Human Services.

Schweitzer continues to support the pharmacy profession and national efforts to increase access to public health initiatives, especially in rural and underserved communities.

Rear Admiral Schweitzer earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Pharmacy, completed an Ambulatory Care/Administrative Residency at University of California Irvine Medical Center.

Schweitzer has been recognized for her leadership contributions, including the Surgeon General Exemplary Service Medal (2018), ASHP 2019 Distinguished Leadership Award (2019), APhA "Next 10 Women in Pharmacy," honoree (2022), Cal State University Fullerton Vision & Visionaries Award, Distinguished Alumni (2023).

Invisible Corps documentary description from https://www.pbs.org: "This one-hour PBS documentary covers the history and role of the Public Health Service, the PHS Commissioned Corps, and how public health has evolved throughout our history. It explores how public health has become politicized and how important it is to change that in order to positively affect the nations' health for years to come."

How do you say metformin (Glucophage)? Pronunciation series episode 2203 Nov 202300:07:10

In this episode, I divide metformin and Glucophage into syllables, explain which syllables have the emphasis, and cite the sources of my information.  The written pronunciations are in the show notes on thepharmacistsvoice.com so that you see them and use them right away.

The purpose of my pronunciation episodes is to provide the intended pronunciations of drug names from reliable sources so you feel more confident saying them and less frustrated learning them.

Metformin = met FOR min.  Emphasize FOR

I found the written pronunciation of metformin in the USP Dictionary Online.

Glucophage = gloo-kō-fahzh.  Emphasize "gloo" and "fahzh"

I found the pronunciation of Glucophage in two places:

    1. Printed:  Package Insert (FDA's website)
    2. Spoken:  BMS Medical Information Dept. 1-800-321-1335

If you know someone who needs to learn how to say #metformin or #Glucophage, please share this episode with them.

Drug Disposal Quiz Answers28 Oct 202300:56:44

The answers to the Drug Disposal Quiz from episode 242 of The Pharmacists Voice Podcast are the focus of today's episode.

My audience is typically pharmacists, pharmacy students, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy professors, pharmacy owners, and medical narrators.  The drug disposal quiz questions are for pharmacy professionals who field questions about drug disposal from well-meaning patients, friends, family, pet-owners, and community members.  These questions (and answers) are meant to prepare you for drug disposal questions so that you can field them at any time of the year.

I asked 10 questions and crowdsources answers.  In this episode, you will hear input from a number of sources. First is a panel discussion featuring Brittany Sandidge, Ruth Emptage, PharmD, and Kelsey Schmuhl, PharmD from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy's Generation RX Program, a medication safety-focused educational outreach program.  Then, I'll share responses from two DEA Representatives.  One is a National Take Back Initiative Coordinator.  The other is a Community Outreach & Prevention Support Program Manager.  Last, but not least, I'll share input from my poison prevention educator friends Dr. Wendy Stephan and Angel Bivens, RPh and the Poison Help Line (specifically, The Central Ohio Poison Center).

Welcome to the first episode in my Pharmacist Podcasters Series!  I will publish an interview with a pharmacist podcaster once/month from now on. Each interview is an opportunity for me to introduce you to another podcast hosted by a pharmacist to inspire you to start a podcast too.  Throughout the series, we'll explore why each pharmacist podcaster started their podcast; who their audience is; what's in it for them (the podcaster); what's in it for their audience; what they want their audience to do with the information; where you can find their podcast; and any advice for new podcasters.

Dr. Ola Latala from the Ohio Pharmacists Association Podcast (aka OPA Podcast) is my first guest in the series.  She was also featured in episode 214 of The Pharmacist's Voice Podcast

Dr. Ola Latala is an Ohio pharmacist and both creator and host of The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) Podcast. She earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy in 2022. You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain20 Oct 202300:20:34

I want to inspire you to use your voice to help the pharmacy profession.  Two things inspired this episode:  (1) A line from the 2008 Batman movie, The Dark Knight and (2) walkouts at large chain retail pharmacies this month (October 2023) in the US.

Problems with the profession are all over the news, but what do large chain retail pharmacists, pharmacy techs, and pharmacy students want?  Let's be concrete about what we want and advocate for it.

People come together in times of crisis.  Join your state pharmacist organization and/or join APhA (American Pharmacists Association).  Let's band together now.  Use your voice.  Do something today.

The audience for this podcast is typically pharmacists, pharmacy students, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy professors, pharmacy owners, and medical narrators.  Today, I'm targeting anyone from the list who works in large chain retail pharmacy.

How do you say naltrexone (Vivitrol)? Pronunciation Series Episode 2106 Oct 202300:09:25

Welcome to my drug name pronunciation series!  In this episode, I divide naltrexone and Vivitrol into syllables, explain which syllables have the emphasis, and reveal the sources of my information.  The written pronunciations are in the show notes on https://www.thepharmacistsvoice.com/podcast

The purpose of my pronunciation episodes is to provide the intended pronunciations of drug names (from reliable sources) so that you feel more confident saying them and less frustrated learning them.

Naltrexone is a prescription medication used to treat both alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder.  It's available as an oral tablet and an IM injection.

Naltrexone has 3 syllables:  nal TREX one.  *Emphasize the 2nd syllable, TREX.

📌 Nal, which rhymes with "pal."

📌 TREX, which rhymes with Chex (a breakfast cereal sold in the US)

📌 one, as in "I own a motorcycle."

Vivitrol also has 3 syllables: VIV i trol.  *Emphasize the 1st syllable, VIV.

🔵 Viv, as in Vivian (a female first name in the US)

🔵 i, which is the schwa 'I' sound (a short "I" sound), like the "I" in the word, "decimal."

🔵 Trol, which rhymes with fall

Where did I find the pronunciations?  Naltrexone is in the USP Dictionary Online, and Vivitrol was in the medication guide on vivitrol.com.

I am not compensated for mentioning the USP Dictionary Online, and I have permission to share written pronunciations from their dictionary.  (Thanks USP Legal Dept!).  I'm also not compensated for mentioning any of the drugs in my pronunciation episodes.

During my 22 years as an Ohio-licensed pharmacist, I've taken an interest in Drug Disposal.  I believe that pharmacists can make a positive impact in their communities by knowing how to safely dispose of all types of drugs at various times of the year.

Ideally, there would be a magical box at every pharmacy, and everything could go in it:  solid tablets, liquid allergy medicine, ear drops, Epi-Pens, creams, nasal sprays, inhalers, and so on.  However, it just doesn't work that way.  As a result, we field questions about drug disposal all the time.  To prepare you for those inevitable questions you may field about drug disposal, I put together a Drug Disposal Quiz.

This is a crowd-sourcing episode.  Feel free to answer one or all of these questions.  If you submit a response, you may hear it on the podcast!  I'm accepting answers until Oct 20, 2023.

    • Step One: go to https://www.thepharmacistsvoice.com.
    • Step Two: Click the Contact tab.
    • Step Three: Click, "Start recording"
    • Step Four: Leave a voicemail message with the question and answer.

As an alternative, fill out the contact form. I may read your answer on the show.  If no one answers, you'll hear my responses on Saturday, October 28, 2023 (Drug Take-Back Day).

Listen to the episode for the full questions.  Key words are below.

  1. Fluorouracil cream
  2. Expired Epi-Pen
  3. Expired OTC's
  4. Discontinued lisinopril tablets
  5. Info table at the health fair
  6. Disposing of illicit substances
  7. Grocery sack full of unwanted meds from a patient.
  8. When is the last time you cleaned out your medicine cabinet?
  9. Where is the closest drug disposal box to you?
  10. On drug take-back day, where can you get rid of odd dosage forms?

This personal realization and deep study in health and healing have influenced her coaching approach, impacting the lives of her clients positively.

With expertise in various areas, including mindful leadership, clinician and pharmacist burnout, executive resilience, and thought leadership, Brigette continues to make a meaningful impact through her coaching, workshops, keynotes, and YouTube Podcast. She cherishes the joy of witnessing her clients reconnect with themselves and create space for intimacy, creativity, meaning, and balance in their lives.

Highlights from our interview

At the June 2023 Medipreneurs Summit in Kansas City, MO, Dr. Brigette Serfaty introduced me to a combination of mindfulness, meditation, and sound healing.  I experienced loud chords of sound from crystal bowls, but I was also able to focus on the meditation portion of the experience.  I liked it.

Dr. Serfaty works with a variety of individuals at the intersection of mindset and well being:

    • Students and faculty at The University of Arkansas
    • Busy professionals (including healthcare professionals, like pharmacists)
    • Group trainings
    • Retreats

There is evidence to support that mindfulness works.  KORU is a mindfulness app Dr. Serfaty uses with her students. The Oura Ring https://ouraring.com/ has meditations inside their app as well; data is available to show measurable (heart rate) changes while meditating.

We discussed Positive Intelligence Training and the Saboteur Assessment.  The results give names to the voices in your head.  Once you know your saboteurs, you can be more mindful about which voices you listen to and the mindset you adopt.

Perfection and imposter syndrome were part of our conversation.  Normalizing failure helps others, especially students, understand that failure is a learning tool - not a barrier to success.  Failure is painful, but it's part of learning.

Brigette has a YouTube Podcast called Minding Your Minutes.  She hosts a variety of guests, including wellness practice owners and lifestyle medicine practitioners.  The content is conversational, educational, and sometimes cathartic.  The name of the Podcast (Minding Your Minutes) is reminder that mindfulness can take just minutes.

How do you say phentermine? Pronunciation Series Episode 1904 Aug 202300:06:08

How do you say phentermine?  In this episode, I break phentermine down into syllables and explain which syllable has the emphasis.  The source of my information in the USP Dictionary Online.

I am not compensated for mentioning the USP Dictionary, and I have their permission to share written pronunciations in my podcast show notes and YouTube videos.  Thank you USP Legal Dept!

The purpose of my pronunciation episodes is to provide the intended pronunciations of drug names from reliable sources so that you feel more confident saying them and less frustrated learning them.

Phentermine = FEN ter meen

Phentermine has 3 syllables. **Emphasize the first syllable (Phen = FEN).

FEN, like Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Socks professional baseball team.

Ter, like the "TER" in sisTER.

Meen, as in someone is being rude or mean to you.

If you know someone who needs to learn how to say phentermine, please share this episode with them.

How do you say ezetimibe? Pronunciation Series Episode 1803 Jul 202300:08:33

Welcome to the 18th episode in my drug name pronunciation series!  We're talking about ezetimibe today.  In the first 4 minutes, I break ezetimibe down into syllables, explain which syllable has the emphasis, and reveal the source of the information.

The last 4 minutes is a bonus.  My husband (Nathan) guest appears to say some drug names from this series.  Why? To share a fun memory!  When I was in pharmacy school, Nathan made me laugh/distracted me from the stress of studying by say drug names and medical terms badly.  It worked!  I laughed a lot, thanks to Nathan.  During this episode, Nathan shows that he can still make me laugh!

Ezetimibe has four syllables.

ezetimibe = e ZET i mibe

e, which is a short "E" sound, like the "E" in "bed." This sounds like a schwa "E."  (Like the second "E" in the word "elephant.")

ZET, which rhymes with "pet"

I, as in "illusion" (short "I" sound, almost like a schwa "I."  Think of the "I" in the word "president.")

mibe, which rhymes with "vibe" ("I" has the long "I" sound, like "ice cream" or "eyeball.")

I found the pronunciation of ezetimibe in the USP Dictionary Online.  The pronunciation guide is especially important for the last syllable in ezetimibe.  Thank you to the USP Legal Dept for permission to publish your written pronunciations in my podcast show notes!

5 drug names from the bonus

  1. Ezetimibe (Episode 228)
  2. Metoprolol (Episode 177, 8th episode in this series)
  3. talimogene laherparepvec or T-VEC (Episode 159, 6th in this series)
  4. Eszopiclone (Episode 134, 1st episode in this series)
  5. Carisoprodol (Episode 198, 13th in the series)

Bio

Tony Guerra, PharmD, originally from the Baltimore-Washington corridor, has combined creative writing work with his experience to author over 30 books.  He's either written and/or produced books in four major categories, pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, career/residency, and professional school admissions and interviews.

He has taught college pharmacology and chemistry for over a decade and a half and lives in Ankeny, Iowa, with his wife Mindy and triplet daughters Brielle, Rianne, and Teagan.

You can work with him at https://residency.teachable.com/courses/ or hear his podcasts at pharmacy.libsyn.com and memorizing.libsyn.com

Highlights from our interview

Tony is an English major. His expertise is in writing and helping people tell their story.  He's more of a writing expert than than a residency expert.  Tony helps pharmacy students one-on-one write a Letter of Intent.  The goal is to find a pharmacist residency that's a good fit.  According to Tony, it's very hard for pharmacists to talk about themselves and to do a "humble brag."

The audience for this 8-part books series is pharmacy students, namely P2's for 3-year programs and P3's for 4-year programs.  Students, read these books as you start those years of school!

Tony loves audiobooks, and he understands the need for them for his readers.  However, depending on the length of the book, Tony sometimes hires narrators instead of narrating the books himself.  Tune in to hear his advice for pharmacist authors who want to narrate their own audiobooks.

Interview with Salam Kabbani, PharmD - Pharmacist Authors Series, Summer 202309 Jun 202300:49:25

Up first in my Summer 2023 Pharmacist Authors Series is Salam Kabbani, PharmD.  She wrote COVID Long-Hauler:  My Life Since COVID and narrated the audiobook.  A sample of her audiobook is included at the end of the episode.

Bio

Salam Kabbani, PharmD is an infectious diseases pharmacy specialist at Olathe Medical Center in the greater Kansas City area. Her experience with long-COVID disability motivated her to write a memoir about her experiences so she can spread empathy by sharing her honest human experience. She is very passionate about advocating for patients and is currently working on a new series highlighting long-COVID symptoms and different strategies to mitigate them. Outside of pharmacy she is an avid reader and shares book recommendations on her Bookstagram and blog. She loves to be outdoors and takes every opportunity she can to go hiking when her health permits. She works part-time at Club Pilates and considers this her "fun job", and she truly believes that reformer pilates has helped recover some of her strength after long-COVID. She lives with her cat Luna and feels grateful for every experience life has to offer her. She loves connecting with people, and especially long-haulers, and would love to hear your stories, answer any questions, or just chat through any of the links below!

COVID Long-Hauler:  My Life Since COVID is available in print and audio.  Visit Global Bookshelves International (publisher), Amazon, or Barnes and Noble to purchase your printed copy today!  The audiobook is available through Audible and iTunes.  I listened to the audiobook, and I enjoyed it!  ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

During the second half of our interview, Salam talked about her experience narrating her audiobook.  Because it's a memoir, she wanted to narrate it herself.  According to Salam, it was a challenge, but she's glad she did it.  Her goal was to release the print and audiobook versions at the same time, but the print version was first to market.  Her 3 hour audiobook took 6 hours of recording time (not all in one day).

Salam's advice to other pharmacist authors who want to narrate their own audiobook:

  • Prepare:  Practice, hydrate, and allow plenty of time to record.
  • Pick your most energetic/refreshed time of the day to record.  (Avoid recording after your work day.)
  • Pick a studio you're comfortable with.  Make sure you can sit comfortably and place your reading materials in front of you.
  • Find an engineer who is experienced with recording, editing, and producing audio files to the specifications you need.  Cautionary tale:  The first engineer Salam worked with recorded the entire book, but he did not finalize her files to specs; he was inexperienced.  Salam needed help from a second audio engineer - Julie Walthers from Whole Story Studio.  With Julie's help, Salam's files passed ACX specs, and publishing the audiobook went smoothly.

Can you help the author out?

    1. If you know of a book group or support group who might like COVID Long Hauler:  My Life Since COVID, recommend it to them.  They could read it and have a discussion.
    2. If you know of a podcast that could interview Salam about her book, please nominate her to the host or let Salam know about the podcast.  LinkedIn messages work well.
    3. If you know someone who would like Salam's book, please share it with them.  Thank you!

What Makes You Weird Is Your Superpower: How a Simple Binder Keeps My Reading Life Organized29 Aug 202500:26:15

As we head into Labor Day weekend, I'm flexing one of my superpowers: organizing information.

In this episode of The Pharmacist's Voice Podcast, I share the story behind my book binder — a simple but powerful system that helps me keep track of dozens of book recommendations and the 20–30 books I read each year. You'll hear how I went from barely finding time to read as a busy mom to becoming an audiobook enthusiast with a binder full of possibilities.

I'll also share 26 books currently on my "to be read" list (plus the Spy School series I'm enjoying with my son Kraig). Maybe you'll discover your next great read from this podcast episode!

Even if books aren't your thing, you'll walk away with this takeaway: what makes you weird might actually be your superpower. For me, it's organizing information. For you, it could be something else entirely — and when you embrace it, life gets easier, less stressful, and more fun. You just might help other people too!

📚 Mentioned in this episode: book recommendations from friends, colleagues, podcasts, bookstores, libraries, social media, and more. Visit thepharmacistsvoice.com for show notes, links, and my full book list.
