Back with a special episode featuring interviews with Mike Weir and Stephen Ames as they prepare for the 2021 Shaw Charity Classic being played in Calgary at the Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club August 13-15. An absolute treat to sit down with both of these Canadian legends of golf. Special thanks to Hugh Burrill and Golf Town for giving me the opportunity to sit down with Mike. Lorie Kane was nice enough to join me for a great talk about golf, we get into her decision to turn professional back in 1993, golf in PEI, her excitement to play in her 30th straight CP Canadian Women's Open next year, how Mark Messier inspired her first win, her advice for young golfers trying to go pro, and much much more. Also, you're going to want to hear her story about her favourite Canadian TV show. Plenty of other good results including a Monday qualifier and a couple runner up finishes. My guest this week is Yohann Benson of Montreal. He shared some detail about his US Open start in 2008 at Torrey Pines, his caddying experience with Mark Hubbard, Adam Hadwin and Russell Knox, and what it's like to be on-site at Augusta as a part of the broadcast team for RDS. MacKenzie Tour moves the final Q-School from BC to Washington, PGA TOUR replaces the Canadian Open, Ontario shuts down golf courses. Blair was a highly ranked amateur golfer and a member of the University of Houston golf team for 4 successful years. He talks about the need for constant improvement to make it as a professional golfer, his days as a junior golfer in Ontario, the state of Canadian golf and his trip to a silent meditation retreat in Alberta on his search for success.

The Smithers, BC, native discusses his college days at Holy Cross and Nevada, his ability to hit the long ball, and how he's used his experiences so far to learn about his game.

This was a huge week for Canadians in professional golf, but probably bigger than you know! We dive into the results on and beyond the major tours in the Weekly Canadian Golf Report. I was actually nervous while recording this episode because I wanted my excitement to come through! We are joined by Russell Budd, founder of the Toronto Players Tour for a talk that spans from his days at DePaul University, to starting one of his first professional golf events with a hole in one followed by a hole out eagle, to what he would do after a missed cut on the Latino America Tour and a deep dive into his new passion of running golf tournaments.
