People Helping People Live is a mission-driven podcast built on the belief that real change begins with real conversations.
Through honest, intentional dialogue, we bring together everyday people, business owners, nonprofits, and community leaders to share stories, identify real needs, and build genuine relationships. One conversation at a time, we are creating a growing network of people who believe in showing up, giving back, and doing the work together.
The impact we create doesn’t start with fundraising.
It starts with connection.
As our conversations grow into relationships and our relationships grow into community, meaningful action naturally follows. Our fundraising efforts and charitable initiatives are a byproduct of the trust, awareness, and momentum built through the podcast and the People Helping People network.
To ensure transparency and real impact, we organize our work into chapters, each focused on a specific cause or need. Every chapter has a clear purpose, a defined goal, and a visible outcome—so our supporters can see exactly how their support is changing lives.
People Helping People Live is not about charity for attention or causes without clarity.
It’s about people helping people, in real time, with real stories, real solutions, and real results.
This is change driven by conversation.
This is community built on connection.
This is People Helping People.

Ep 85 The EMT Who Took Command of a Mass Casualty Scene Alone, Then Built a Business on the Side
Season 1 · Episode 85
Thursday, September 17, 2026 • Duration 01:02:18
Alex Anduaga has been a Tucson firefighter and EMT for almost ten years, and one call still sticks with him. A semi rear-ended a line of cars on I-10, and when he and his partner arrived, they were the only unit on scene. No captain, no battalion chief, nobody above him. So Alex took command himself, for twenty minutes, ordering helicopters and additional ambulances while triaging eight injured people, including two little girls in the back of one of the cars.
He walks through that call in detail, and it's the kind of story that makes you rethink what "firefighter" even means. Alex says 85% of what his department runs is medical, not fire, and most people have no idea. He also gets honest about something most first responders don't say out loud: how he's managed to avoid the moment where the job catches up with you emotionally, and why he thinks the guys who struggle most are usually the ones who tied their whole identity to the badge.
That idea carries into the second half of the conversation, where Alex talks about Chief's Window Cleaning, the business he built on the side using nothing but YouTube and word of mouth. He didn't pay himself for the first eighteen months. He reinvested everything back into equipment until the business could stand on its own, and eventually it grew enough that he was able to have his wife stay home with their two boys. His advice for anyone stuck in the planning stage of a business is blunt: stop prepping and just file the paperwork, because your own hesitation is the only real obstacle in the way.
What ties the whole episode together is something Alex keeps coming back to: don't let your career become your entire identity, because eventually that chapter ends, one way or another, and you need to already know who you are outside of it. Whether you're a first responder, thinking about starting something on the side, or just feel like your job has quietly become all of you, this one's worth the listen.

Ep 84 The Dogs Who Saved Zach Skow's Life (And Why He's Now Doing the Same for Guys in Prison) | People Helping People Live
Season 1 · Episode 84
Friday, September 11, 2026 • Duration 52:40
Zach Skow drank himself into liver failure by 28. He needed a transplant to survive, and you had to prove six months of sobriety just to qualify. While he waited it out, wondering if he'd make it, three rescue dogs did something no doctor could: they gave him a reason to keep going.
Zach tells the story of standing in his bathroom in the middle of the night, sick and covered in his own mess, staring into a mirror and not recognizing what was looking back. His dogs were sitting by the toilet, waiting, like they still saw something worth waiting for. That night cracked something open in him, and it's the same thing that eventually became Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue and the Pawsitive Change program, now running inside six California state prisons, including a maximum-security yard where guys who've been locked up for decades are learning to foster and train dogs of their own.
He and Alexander get into what it actually looks like to ask for help as a man, why "trudging forward" is a better description of recovery than "walking," and how Zach found a version of spirituality that had nothing to do with religion and everything to do with three dogs who loved him before he could love himself. He's also refreshingly honest about the hard week he's having right now, and how easy it still is to slip into old patterns even years into recovery.
If you've ever felt like the person in the mirror was someone you didn't recognize anymore, or you've written off people in prison as people who can't change, this conversation is going to move something in you. Zach isn't interested in painting a prettier picture than the truth. He's just living proof that the truth can still turn into something good.

Ep 83 Is There A Difference Between Manifesting And Praying? With Zach Edwards and Joel Bloomquist
Season 1 · Episode 83
Monday, July 20, 2026 • Duration 01:25:26
Faith, ego, manifestation, simulation theory, and UFOs — all in one conversation. When Alexander sits down with two of his closest friends, Zach Edwards and Joel Bloomquist, there's no agenda, no script, and no filter. Just three guys who trust each other enough to go there.
They get into ego — how it sneaks in, how it hides behind religion, how becoming a father or watching your parents age can quietly strip it away. Zach talks about reading the Bible every single morning this year, missing one day, and immediately knowing something was off. Joel connects manifestation to scripture in a way that genuinely reframes the whole concept. And Alexander sits in the middle of it all, honest about where he is with God — grateful, curious, and still figuring out what the constructs mean to him personally.
Then things get really interesting. UFO files, simulation theory, atoms that stop moving when they're being watched, and whether any of it shakes a faith built on personal experience. Spoiler: it doesn't. But the conversation around it is worth every minute.
This is the episode you send to a friend who's spiritually curious but allergic to religion. It's raw, it's real, and it's one of the best roundtables this show has ever had.
Ep 82 20 Years of Military Service and the Truth About America With Aaron Greer
Season 1 · Episode 82
Monday, July 20, 2026 • Duration 55:13
Aaron Greer didn't grow up in a military family. He joined the Army National Guard at 23 because his best friend was going back to Iraq and he didn't want to be left behind. What started as loyalty to a friend turned into nearly two decades of service, two deployments, and a life shaped by things most people will never see.
This one's a real conversation between two old friends. Alexander and Aaron go back — they sold phones together, ran around Tucson, and now here they are catching up on camera for the first time. Aaron walks through what it was actually like to land in Iraq as a 23-year-old gunner on top of an armored truck, staring down at Baghdad and thinking, "What have I done?" He talks about the moment a bomb went off 400 yards away and the ground shook under his feet — and how that was the instant the whole thing became real.
Aaron also gets into something he says he's never really talked about before: what the military has done for him personally. Not the resume stuff. The real stuff. Like how 19 years of service has kept him on the straight and narrow when his life could've easily gone a different direction. And why, even with everything he's seen, he wouldn't trade a single experience.
If you've ever wondered what it's actually like over there — or what brings someone back for nearly two decades — this is the episode to hear.

Ep 81 She Started A Male Dominated Business! You Can Too!
Friday, July 3, 2026 • Duration 56:55
Angelica Khan didn't grow up dreaming about dump trucks. She was on a fast track in banking, a VP title within reach, and a retirement plan already mapped out. Then COVID hit, and everything changed. What she built on the other side of that pivot — Khan Industries, a five-truck commercial dump trucking company she runs with her husband in Washington State — is one of the most quietly impressive stories to come through this show.
Angelica breaks down what it actually takes to own and operate heavy equipment as a female minority business owner in a male-dominated industry. From getting her CDL just to prove she's the one running the show, to her husband signing away ownership rights so she could keep her certifications, the hoops are real. But so is the payoff. She talks about what it felt like the first time she saw all five of her trucks on the same job site — and why that moment never gets old.
The conversation also gets real about building a team you can actually trust, what she looks for when hiring drivers, and the biggest red flag in any interview. Spoiler: it's not a gap in their resume. She also opens up about raising two daughters while running a business, and why she's not pressuring either of them to have it figured out at 13 — because she's living proof that the plan you make and the life you actually live can look nothing alike.
If you've ever felt like you were meant for something different than what you're currently doing, this one's going to hit.
Ep 80 From the Bus Stop to the Mountaintop | People Helping People Live
Season 1 · Episode 80
Friday, June 19, 2026 • Duration 59:25
Mike Curry has been through it. Homelessness. Prison. Addiction that took him to the lowest places a person can go. And now? He's seven and a half years sober, running his own coaching business, and showing up every single day to help others find the clarity he had to fight hard to get. This conversation is one you're going to want to sit with.
Mike and Alexander get into all of it — the moment Mike surrendered his parental rights because of his addiction, what it felt like to sleep at bus stops in Tucson, and the second time his sponsor asked him what he wanted out of the 12-step process. The first time, Mike said a BMW and a big house. The second time, he said peace in his heart. That shift — that's what this episode is really about.
They also talk about what it means to be a man who actually asks for help. The ego that gets in the way. The feelings we bury that eventually come out sideways. The business owners who are quietly drinking alone in their garages every night because they don't know who to talk to. Mike's been there too, and he's not pretending otherwise.
If you've ever felt like your story was too messy to share, or like you had to keep the mask on just to survive — this one's for you. Mike is living proof that transparency isn't weakness. It's the whole thing.
