Andy Billy & The Puppetmaster put in major work analyzing the sci-fi, straight-to-video film known as Xtro 2. Not exactly a resume highlight for Jan Michael Vincent, but here he is, stepping up to contend with some kind of vague yet extra-sticky, inter-dimensional science lab crisis. Xtro 2 was filmed in Vancouver back in the late 80’s. Around the time that the 21 Jump Street vibes were pretty much dead and the Mulder and Scully universe had not yet arrived to the 604. Not that you'd be able to tell it was shot here…since the whole thing takes place in some sort of windowless bunker that has the charisma of an Office Depot/Staples location. Apparently The Puppetmaster is still figuring out how microphones work and his levels were a bit low at times. Also, if you hear strange audio artifacts in this episode, we decided to record the audio to VHS tape…as a ceremony of sorts in praise of OG straight-to-video media culture. You’ll hear some hiss that’s hard to miss. Special bonus interview at the end with a cast member!

Your hosts Andy & Kelly go off on some tangents about personal negative experiences with leeches and sketchy towns/suburbs near Vancouver. We also try to touch on the anthology sequel known as Creepshow 2. Does it suck? It's definitely better than Xtro 2. Did it age well? Yes & no...there's certainly potential for some inner conflict on that front. Is BBQ sauce is a legitimate thing for a practical FX technician to have in their toolkit? I think if you can thicken it to where it's like cough syrup then it's arguably good to use on a guy who has been assaulted by a fast-moving vehicle at least two-dozen times within around 29 minutes.
