27th June 2021: We're live with for a DeepDive illuminating the situation on the ground in Masafer Yatta, where thousands of Palestinians are facing imminent expulsion.

In the early 1980s the IDF declared the area a firing zone (“Firing Zone 918”), an action viewed by experts as a violation of international law and one clearly undertaken with the objective of forcibly displacing the Palestinian residents of the area to take control of the land.

Last month, the Israeli Supreme Court rejected the residents' claims to the land in favour of the military, declaring the region a closed-off training area following the two-decade legal battle.

Residents fear expulsion and are already at the mercy of Israeli home demolitions and property confiscations while also facing regular harassment and violence from both the Israeli army and Israeli settlers.

We’re live with Basil Al-Adraa, a local resident, activist & journalist, and Yuval Abraham, a Jerusalem-based journalist and activist.

Falasteeniya Ep. 2 | “Israel Killed My Best Friend, My Husband” | Shrouq Al Aila14 Aug 202501:04:36

“If I don’t cover this, who will?” In the second episode of Falasteeniya, a new podcast series spotlighting the voices, expertise, and lived experiences of Palestinian women and exploring the gendered dynamic of Israel's oppression, host Hala Hanina welcomes Journalist and Emmy award-winner Shrouq Al Aila speaking directly from inside the Gaza Strip.

She is the director of Ain Media, an independent production company co-founded by her husband, Rushdi Sarraj, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on October 22, 2023.

In this episode, Shrouq speaks about her return to Gaza after the genocide began, the day she lost her husband, the assassination of her colleagues at Ain Media, and the daily toll of famine, grief, and survival.

She also reflects on the Western feminist silence around the femicide in Gaza, and the Emmy award she recently received for her work, a recognition dedicated to those who gave everything to tell the truth.

Her work not only exposes Israel’s war crimes and the Western media’s complicity but also stands as a frontline act of resistance, ensuring that Palestinian stories are told, and that memory is not erased.

Heba Abunada (1991–2023) was more than a poet. She was Gaza’s radiance — a biochemist, a writer, and a visionary thinker whose words carried generations of Palestinian pain and resistance.

Her poems traced the delicate threads between loss and longing, life and liberation. She wrote as if Gaza breathed through her. But Heba’s life was cut short in the beginning of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.

She was killed while on her prayer mat, during one of the most violent days of the genocide. Her final words on Facebook that morning read: “In Gaza, we are with God, either as martyrs or as witnesses to liberation, and all of us are waiting to see which we will be.”

Somaia Abunada is the younger sister of Heba. She is a former Fulbright language teaching assistant, she holds a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Translation Studies.

Somaia is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Applied Intercultural Communication at Trinity College Dublin. She has worked as an English teacher with the Irish Red Cross, social media coordinator with We Are Not Numbers, as a writer, and an activities coordinator and translator.

Matt explains how IAF refuelling planes have been active over Gaza around the time of war crimes, including attacks on residential apartment blocks.

Israel and the US’s current war on Iran has been a long time in the making. Palestine Deep Dive’s Ahmed Alnaouq and Matt Kennard discuss the history of regime change efforts and why Tehran has been such a problem for Washington and Tel Aviv.

They discuss the history of Israel’s secret nuclear weapons program which began in the 1950s, and the evolution of the Begin Doctrine after Israel’s strike on the Iraqi reactor at Osirak in 1981.

They also talk about the fact that no evidence exists that Iran has a nuclear weapons program while Israel’s is widely-known documented - and the absurdity of the fact that Iran signed up to the Non-Proliferation Treaty in 1970, but Israel is one of only four countries which has always refused.

This interview was conducted on Friday 20 June 2025.

They also talk about the resistance to the Gaza genocide within the UK, particularly the role Palestine Action has played, and the repression the British state has unleashed on activists and journalists to try to dampen the popular movement for Palestine.

Finally, they compare notes on being interviewed by Piers Morgan, and talk about whether his recent change of position on the genocide in Gaza is genuine, and what his real goal is with his popular Youtube show.

"Kick Israel Out of FIFA NOW!" Israel is Killing Palestinian Footballers | Abubaker Abed11 Jun 202500:34:09

Palestinian journalist Abubaker Abed exposes Israel’s targeting and killing of Palestinian footballers in its ongoing genocide on Gaza, and demands Israel be kicked out of FIFA immediately.

Abubaker, who only left Gaza two months ago in April 2025, reports that at least 371 Palestinian footballers have been killed by Israel, including the legendary Palestinian player, “the Lion”, Mohammed Barakat.

Abubaker praises the solidarity of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Ipswich Town captain Sam Morsy for their solidarity with Palestine, but criticises Egyptian captain Mohamed Salah calling him an “absolute disgrace” for his lack of vocal solidarity with Palestinians.

Abubaker says Israel must be kicked out of FIFA immediately for its violations of international law and asks footballers to start calling out Israel and begin naming it as the perpetrator of unprecedented war crimes against the Palestinians.

Last night, Palestine’s national football team faced Oman in the World Cup qualifiers, drawing 1-1 after a controversial penalty was awarded against them in the 97th minute, resulting in Palestine not qualifying for the finals of the tournament.

EXPOSED: Israel's Sadistic "Hunger Games" in Gaza | Mosab Abu Toha11 Jun 202500:27:40

At least 57 Palestinians seeking aid have been killed and more than 363 injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza since this morning, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed at these so-called "aid distribution centres" to 224, according to Gaza’s health ministry.

So far, the centres ran by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation have proven to be nothing more than death traps for Palestinians, who have likened their experiences to the movie "The Hunger Games".

To discuss all this and more, Ahmed Alnaouq is joined by fellow Palestinian author from Gaza, the Pulitzer prize-winning poet and writer, Mosab Abu Toha.

They talk about what happened early on Monday morning, what the activists were trying to deliver to Gaza, and what conditions they expect them to be held in. Jenes says despite the interception the flotilla was a success and that this is just the beginning of the attempt to break Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza.

They also discuss the huge global support for the flotilla and how this could change the situation in terms of Western government’s complicity in the siege and genocide.

Nicole Jenes is a content producer, actress and activist residing in Egypt.

Hala Hanina is a Palestinian journalist and political activist from Gaza.

Francesca Albanese calls for a Global Sea Fleet to Break the Siege of Gaza11 Jun 202500:13:06

Palestine Deep Dive’s Ahmed Alnaouq talks to UN Special Rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territory Francesca Albanese about the legality of Israel’s interception of the flotilla bound for Gaza.

Albanese says Israel’s actions are totally illegal and that it is obliged to immediately release the activists and return the vessel.

The Madleen was a UK-flagged ship and Albanese called on the British government to take its responsibility for the activists it held and pressure Israel to abide by international law.

But she went further saying that, now the flotilla has been intercepted, the navies of every nation in the Mediterranean, mentioning specifically France, Italy, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Spain should be sent to Gaza to break the siege.

They discuss efforts in the UK to build a mass mobilisation of support to stop Britain’s involvement and participation in Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza and assess the effectiveness of the tactics used across the movement, from boycotts and marches to permanent occupations and direct action.

But given Britain’s continued support for Israel, from refusing to implement a full arms embargo to continuing to send RAF spy flights over Gaza from the British base at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, Ahmed questions whether efforts have indeed been enough.

They also deep dive into the attempts of the British state to restrict and repress the Palestine solidarity movement and the democratic right to protest in Britain and also discuss the roots of Zionism and whether calling for Zionism to be dismantled is an effective framing and approach for supporting Palestinian rights today.

Jeremy Corbyn Demands Public Inquiry into UK Participation in Gaza Genocide04 Jun 202500:40:48

Jeremy Corbyn, independent MP for Islington North, today introduced a bill into UK parliament to secure a public inquiry into Britain’s role in the genocide in Gaza.

The former Labour leader is demanding transparency around UK military, economic and political cooperation with Israel, including weapons, intelligence and the use of RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus.

He has received support from a range of independent, Labour, Green, SNP and other MPs. Corbyn says a cover-up is going on into British complicity and adds a Chilcot-style inquiry is the only way to get to the truth.

He slams his former colleagues in the Labour Party including Keir Starmer, David Lammy and John Healey, saying they should be investigated for overseeing UK complicity.

Israel’s “Final Solution” for Gaza: A ‘New Dubai’ without Palestinians | Ahmed Alnaouq, Matt Kennard04 Jun 202500:27:45

Ahmed Alnaouq and Matt Kennard discuss what's next for besieged Gaza as it comes under the control of Israeli military and US mercenaries.

They delve into the new US-Israeli aid programme in Gaza, which has seen massacres of starving Palestinians trying to receive food.

This is a way, they say, to displace more Palestinians with the ultimate intention of full ethnic cleansing to a third country.

They also discuss the record of genocidal statements by senior Israeli officials and Benjamin Netanyahu’s Gaza 2035 plan to turn the Palestinian territory into a Dubai-style tech hub.

Israel has long coveted the oil and gas off Gaza’s coast, they add, which includes 1.1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and nearly 2 billion barrels of oil.

This is a land grab but also a resource grab.

"There WILL Be Consequences!" Dr Hanan Ashrawi Warns Western Leaders Over Participating in Genocide31 Mar 202500:27:57

In an exclusive interview with Palestine Deep Dive, esteemed Palestinian politician, activist and scholar, Dr Hanan Ashrawi, reacts to Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, following Benjamin Netanyahu's deliberate breaking of the ceasefire.

Speaking to former UN staffer and journalist, Mark Seddon, Dr Ashrawi, weighs in on the West's role in this campaign of extermination and focuses in particular on the role being played by Keir Starmer's Labour Government, saying,

“Exactly I think accountability should be applied across the board; it is not just Israel that is carrying out a genocide, those governments that are continuing to supply it with weapons and continuing to allow it to use its bases, like the British base in Cyprus, those governments that are supplying it with intelligence like the British government. So these people are definitely complicit in the genocide itself, and they cannot escape it. Sooner or later they will have to be held to account. There will be consequences, they cannot continue with this disguising reality and attempting to circumvent what is happening and so on. This complicity now is very clear. And they have to understand, that they will be considered part of a genocide that took place. And right now they might be able to intimidate, maybe, the ICC or the ICJ but I think at one point they will see themselves also held accountable before these international courts.”

She also has words of warning for the leaders of the Arab World, who continue to fail the Palestinian people in this their hour of desperate need.

Jeremy Corbyn Demands Answers About Who Authorised British Participation in Gaza Genocide21 Mar 202500:18:13

Speaking to Palestinian Deep Dive’s Ahmed Alnaouq, Corbyn says, “I want to know and I really do want to know who in the British government authorised the overflying of Gaza? Who in the British government authorised the delivery of weapons? Who in the British government knowingly provided weapons to a country that has been arraigned before the ICJ and the ICC?”

To obtain answers to these questions, the former UK Labour Party leader is demanding a “Chilcot-style” inquiry into the British government’s participation in the Gaza genocide.

The Chilcot Report, officially titled the Iraq Inquiry, was an independent public inquiry into the UK's involvement in the 2003 Iraq War, chaired by Sir John Chilcot.

The Report exposed intelligence failures, lack of planning and questioned the legal basis for the war.

Corbyn said he remains “constantly astonished” by the attitude of successive UK governments, which continue to enable Israel’s assaults on Gaza, an onslaught he describes as “a Second World War-Style carpet bombing.”

However if the government refuses such an inquiry, Corbyn says he will not be deterred from continuing to demand one by billing further parliamentary debates.

He also says an alternative would be a public inquiry inspired by the Russell Tribunal on the Vietnam War, “so we will have an open process with expert opinions, witnesses and evidence.”

Corbyn urged people everywhere to keep up the pressure on their governments to stop the genocide in Gaza.

He emphasised the need to use every available avenue— street protests, raising awareness and protesting against Elbit Systems weapons factories in the UK in particular— to demand justice and accountability.

Is the Gaza Genocide the "Achilles Heel" of Western Hegemony? | Roger Waters19 Mar 202500:19:51

Pink Floyd rock legend Roger Waters responds to news from Gaza that Israel has massacred over 400 Palestinians in renewed rounds of bombardment and sends a message to Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil.

Asked what his message is to Mahmoud Khalil and other students like him who have been arrested recently by immigration enforcement officers in the U.S. and are being threatened with deportation, Roger responds, “Keep doing what you were doing before they arrested you!”

“This is Gestapo tactics, this is fascism at work. Years ago in interviews I was saying the fight for universal human rights, specifically relating to the people of Palestine, will be fought on the campuses of north America, how right I was going to be I had no idea!”

Amid the horrors being inflicted on Gaza, Roger questions whether Israel’s genocide may eventually backfire: “What I hope is the genocide of the Palestinian people will prove to be the Achilles Heel in the monster of the Western hegemony with its mask off which we’re watching operate.”

“The hole in Trump’s armour and the hole in the Israeli lobby’s armour is their evil. The fact that they’re so undeniably and appallingly evil in every way maybe their achilles heel, and they may fail. They may fall over.”

In this eye-opening episode, we dive deep into the report’s findings, assessing whether the report goes far enough in exposing Israel’s widespread sexual violence against Palestinians and ask why it has taken so long for such a report to be produced in light of the widespread evidence.

We also examine the media reaction to it in the West but also in Israel where the report has had much backlash, with Israel subsequently lashing out at the UN and pushing to impose sanctions against the UN Human Rights Council in conjunction with the Trump administration.

In this audio podcast for Palestine Deep Dive, composer and sound designer Sami El-Enany learns about Rasheed’s latest project, "Dreams On A Pillow”, a stealth game set during the ethnic cleansing and violent displacement of Palestinians in the 1948 Nakba. The game follows the story of a Palestinian woman who carries a pillow instead of her child by mistake after fleeing an Israeli massacre. Set in multiple timelines, the game aims to preserve the memory of pre-Zionist Palestine and highlight the trauma endured by Palestinians.

Sami El-Enany is a composer and sound designer. Through his practice and research, Sami is delving into the sonics of solidarity, exploring sound as resonance for union.

Re-reading Ghassan Kanafani in the Struggle Against Genocide | Hazem Jamjoum04 Dec 202402:33:00

“Between the Sword and the Neck” Educator and editor Hazem Jamjoum offers a fresh reading of the work of Ghassan Kanafani amid Israel’s ongoing genocide on Palestinians in Gaza.

Ghassan Kanafani (1936-1972) is widely known as one of the great Arab novelists of the 20th century. His ability to use simple, almost mundane stories to speak to the human experience of colonialism and freedom in novels like ‘Men in the Sun’ and ‘Returning to Haifa’ continue to teach those who read them.

But Kanafani was more than a novelist, he was also a key political thinker, strategist and revolutionary whose analysis of Zionism and imperialism continues to inform and shape anti-colonial thought across the globe today.

Speaking to Palestinian journalist from Gaza, Ahmed Alnaouq, Francesca references her new UN report titled “Genocide as Colonial Erasure”, which documents how Israel is wielding its genocide as part of a broader, systematic and intentional state-organised forced displacement and replacement of the Palestinians.

A new 800 page report published by Forensic Architecture titled “A Spatial Analysis of the Israeli Military’s Conduct in Gaza since October 2023”, uses innovative digital technology to illustrate Israel’s wholesale destruction of the Gaza Strip which has left “no safe place” for Palestinians under siege and bombardment, according director Eyal Weizman.
