And with San Diego right in the thick of the NL Wild Card race, we’re talking about what this late-season surge means, how we’re feeling heading into the final stretch, and whether the boys can keep the momentum going into October. šŸ‘€āš¾ļø

But obviously, it wouldn’t be a Padres & Playdates trip without a little chaos...

Apparently wearing Padres gear at Oracle Park was enough for one woman to decide she wanted to FIGHT Anais at the game. šŸ˜‚ So yes, we’re telling that story too.

Episode 40: On Air with Jesse Agler & Tony Gwynn Jr. šŸŽ™ļøāš¾ļø12 aoĆ»t 202600:29:30

We’re coming to you from Petco Park for a very special episode with the voices of Padres radio, Jesse Agler and Tony Gwynn Jr.!

We talk all things baseball and broadcasting, from how Jesse and Tony got their starts in the industry to what actually separates a play-by-play announcer from a color analyst. They break down the differences between calling a game on radio vs. TV, what goes into preparing for a broadcast, and the moments that have shaped their careers.

Jesse gives us the story behind his now-iconic ā€œGONNA GOOOO!ā€ home run call, and we get into the pretty serendipitous way he and Tony ended up in the booth together and why their partnership works so well.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Padres & Playdates without going a little off script. šŸ˜‚ We share plenty of laughs, talk Padres baseball, behind-the-scenes moments, career highs and everything in between.

A huge thank you to Jesse and Tony for joining us and to the Padres for having us at Petco Park for an episode we’ll never forget!

šŸŽ™ļø EPISODE 31: 365 DAYS OF CHAOS!!!08 juin 202600:36:24

One year. Thirty-one episodes. Countless hot takes, questionable decisions, emotional support group chats, and somehow we're still here.

This week we're celebrating the one-year anniversary of Padres & Playdates by looking back at our favorite moments from the past year, the wild ride this podcast has taken us on, and why we're somehow still optimistic even while the Padres continue to absolutely shit the bed.

We also discuss the strange reality that Fernando Tatis Jr. somehow has the best batting average on the team even though it feels like he's been slumping for a month, what's gone wrong with the offense, and why we're refusing to panic... at least for now.

Thanks for hanging out with us for 365 days of chaos. We wouldn't want to suffer through Padres baseball with anyone else. šŸ’›šŸ¤Ž

The Padres are officially in their flop era and we're breaking down exactly how we got here. We talk about the epic slump, what's really going wrong, whether there's any reason for optimism, and why we're not quite ready to hit the panic button (yet).

Plus, a little trauma dumping, summer plans, taking the kids to a suite at Petco Park this Monday, and the usual chaos you've come to expect from us.

If you're frustrated, confused, mildly delusional, and still somehow convinced this team can turn it around, this episode is for you.

EPISODE 30: 38 AND FEEELING GREAT!! šŸŽ‰āš¾ļø16 mai 202600:50:23

This week we’re celebrating Anais’ birthday while the Padres continue to make absolutely no sense in the best way possible. We break down the last four series, Gavin Sheets’ INSANE 3-run homer in the top of the 9th with two outs, why Andujar might be the most underrated player on this team right now, and ask the question every Padres fan is currently screaming into the void: WTF is going on with Tatis?!

We also get into how the Padres are somehow leading the NL West despite some of the worst hitting numbers in baseball and several star players not performing like themselves. Plus, a chaotic round of Would You Rather and a look ahead at our busy week featuring a Padres vs. Dodgers game at Petco with Bubbles & Fishing Poles šŸ‘€

Basically: vibes are high, logic is low, and somehow the Padres keep winning.

Episode 29: WHAT HAPPENS IN MEXICO... šŸ‡²šŸ‡½āš¾ļø06 mai 202600:36:10

The Padres took over CDMX and honestly… so did we. This week we’re breaking down our Mexico City series experience, why it somehow felt exactly like being at Petco Park, and why this trip has officially become our entire personality. From the insane atmosphere to Padres fans absolutely SHOWING UP, we’re recapping all the chaos, fun, and core memories made south of the border.

We also discuss the shocking amount of Dodgers fans in attendance… supporting the Padres, obviously. šŸ’…

Plus:

  • Xander Bogaerts quietly becoming ON FIRE
  • Luis Campusano proving people wrong
  • The vibes of this team right now
  • That brutal umpire call that ended Mason Miller’s scoreless streak and sent baseball fans into a spiral

Basically: Padres baseball, friendship, serotonin, and Mexico City supremacy.

Episode 28: Bogey Goes Boom!!18 avr. 202600:41:42

This week we’re riding HIGH after an electric sweep and an unstoppable winning streak! We break down Bogey’s unforgettable walk-off grand slam and relive the absolute chaos of our insane 6–2 comeback in the bottom of the 9th. Seriously… does it get better than that?!

We’re giving major love to our announcers (because they’ve been on fire lately), and we’re officially declaring Merrill our MVP after what might be the best game of his career.

Off the field, things get just as fun—Anais’s kids are out here proving they know more baseball than most of our friends, and we start to seriously question if the Dodgers are building players in a lab somewhere… because HOW?!

Also, important discussion: we need to see Freddy Freeman’s baby pictures immediately.

Come for the recap, stay for the chaos—this episode is a fun one!

Episode 27: WTF Is Going On!?09 avr. 202600:45:24

Opening week chaos, we’re so back.

In this episode, we recap everything from Opening Day week, including being on the news (twice šŸ‘€), Tony Gwynn Jr.’s event at Bub's, and our full Opening Day experience, the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

We break down the first week of Padres baseball, officially crownĀ Mason MillerĀ as our MVP (yes, we said it), and get into who we’re feeling good about vs. who’s already stressing us out going into the season.

It’s early, emotions are high, and we have thoughts. Lots of them.

šŸŽ§ Tune in for baseball, chaos, and the realest takes you’ll hear this week.

EPISODE 26: BFFS FOR LIFE - WITH TONY GWYNN JRšŸŽ™ļøāš¾ļø28 mars 202600:11:33

We sat down withĀ Tony Gwynn Jr.Ā and covered EVERYTHING. From kids sports and parenting in the baseball world to what it’s really like being the voice of the Padres šŸŽ§

Episode 25: A LOT GOING ON AT THE MOMENT āš¾ļø22 mars 202600:25:57

It’s chaos in the best way. We’re covering all the Padres news you need to know, from what’s trending right now to going to Tony Gwynn Jr.’s event at Bub’s (yes, we will try the margarita šŸ‘€). We get into Opening Day IL updates, what it means for the lineup, and our very opinionated City Connect jersey predictions. Baseball is basically here and so are we.

Episode 24: WTF Happened in Yuma!?08 mars 202600:39:35

All we had to do was survive one night in Yuma before spring training. It turned into the most chaotic 24 hours imaginable. Let’s just say the 24 hours we spent there included multiple plot twists, a few moments where we questioned all of our life choices, and at least one situation that absolutely cannot be explained without context.

At one point we were pretty sure the entire trip was doomed…

…and then baseball did what baseball does.

By the end of it we somehow still ended up withĀ field passes, a game, meeting players, and a spring training experience we’ll never forgetĀ (even if the interview we drove out for had to be rescheduled).

This story truly gets more unhinged the longer it goes.

Episode 23: WE'RE SO BACK BABY!!24 fƩvr. 202600:32:35

WE’RE SO BACK, BABY. āš¾šŸ”„

Episode 23 ofĀ Padres & PlaydatesĀ is here and we are officially unwell (as usual). We’re breaking down Opening Day of Spring Training, getting ready to head to Peoria next week, and talking through our newly acquired players who are about to change our lives.

We also dive into coaching tee ball chaos, and yes… the missed message that could’ve had us at the Tatis Foundation event (we’re still recovering).

Baseball is back. The vibes are high. We will be emotionally unstable and absolutely insufferable through October.

Let’s ride.

Episode 22: Long Live Smashing Designs!!10 fƩvr. 202600:45:51

In this episode ofĀ Padres & Playdates, we sit down with Ashley fromĀ Smashing DesignsĀ for an honest, emotional conversation about her recent absence on social media and the reality of building a brand from the ground up.

Ashley opens up about the heart, time, and identity she poured into Smashing Designs, the moment she received a cease and desist letter fromĀ Major League Baseball, and how that changed everything overnight. We talk about what this means for her business moving forward, the grief that comes with losing something you built, and how creators and small business owners can survive moments like this.

Most importantly, we talk about how to support Ashley during this season of uncertainty and why ā€œLong Live Smashing Designsā€ means so much more than a brand.

This episode is raw, vulnerable, and a reminder of how fragile and powerful small businesses really are.

If you’ve ever built something you loved, this one is for you.

We dive into Hannah’s San Diego roots, how her Padres fandom began, and the story of how she met her husband,Ā Steven Woods. We talk about going to the game with Ashley from Smashing Designs (and the amazing hats she hooked us up with), meeting Woods and Hannah Nancarrow, and sitting right behind 3rd base. Mason Miller’s immaculate inning was electric even if we didn’t win. Plus, we hit each other with a surprise pop quiz and share our most unpopular Padres and MLB opinions.

Episode 8: More Morejón!22 juil. 202500:35:55

The All-Star break is over and your girls are back—and so are the Padres. We’re recapping the dramatic walk-off home run to close out the first half, celebrating our return to theĀ Top 10 in the power rankings, and sharing why (for once) we’re both feelingĀ optimistic.
