Preventing Lyme disease in dogs is preferable to your dog developing a painful infectious arthritis or other serious complications associated with Lyme disease in dogs. Because Lyme disease is spread by ticks, the main way to prevent Lyme disease in dogs is to prevent tick bites + kill ticks.
