| OPES: From Afghanistan With Love Or: PTSD Today, Gone Tomorrow! | 27 May 2024 | 01:52:15 | |
Good morning and thanks for checking out another episode of Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories. What with today being memorial day, I felt it appropriate to have our next episode be released today. Meet Jared Laskey, veteran/author/pastor the man does it all. But what is truly remarkable about his story is his journey of healing. You see Jared was over in Iraq/Afghanistan where he saw some heavy combat, and came back much worse for wear. However it was with the Holy Spirit, my man here was not only able to be healed from this pain (and be free from the various medications that were making his life numb), but also able to go back and minister to the very same country that took so much from him. I cannot stress enough the importance of this episode. As the real sacrifices it takes from men and women that serve this country, we so often take for granted. | OPES: Embracing The Life You Never Planned Or: The Guest Imbibes | 31 Jul 2023 | 01:45:35 | |
We got an episode I particularly enjoying recording today. Today's episode is all about my friend Andrew Davie. Now Andrew is the kinda guy that the more you get to know him, the cooler he gets. Once a documentary film maker, Andrew has moved between author, teacher, podcast host, and all around cool dude. However, what really makes his story impressive, is just how close to death Andrew came when a brain aneurysm struck him at an airport. Find out just how much it changed his life and more on today's episode. If you want to know more about him or his podcast, Happy Hour with Heather and Guest (hes guest), click the link right here! Hello everyone who actually ends up reading this. Today's episode is about my good friend Zach Van Dyck, a Sacramento musician who has had the chance to perform with Trace Cyrus and even open for Drake Bell (that didn't age well). He's a wonderful person who was transparent enough to talk about the hard life of an artist, and the struggles we all face: addiction, inspiration, real life, etc. So if any of this sounds interesting to you or you are looking for some new music that covers the entire emotional spectrum, be sure to check out my guy Zach Van Dyck, on most of your music platforms (including here on Spotify {or where ever else you're listening to this podcast to lol}). He even has a new song that dropped called "dinero", it was the song I was humming to in the beginning. We're all going to pretend I released this on 4/20 so it can still be relevant.... Hey guys! Your Host with the most here, bringing you a bit different of an episode today. In spite of the holiday, national cold brew/high five day, a close friend and I banter between life's hard subjects. Soprano's, Jesus, and Ronnie J all get brought up here. Also if the raunchy humor isn't something you enjoy, may advise to stay away from this one.
