Kajabi
I'm a clinical psychologist and natural intuitive -- spirituality and psychology are how I make sense of the world! My goal with this podcast is to empower people to hear their own quiet voices and put that guidance into action for positive change. Through solo episodes, essays, and occasional guests, I'll focus on topics such as boundary setting, maintaining authority over your own life choices, listening to your inner voice, common trends in my psychotherapy work, how to navigate turbulent times, and more! This podcast is not meant to diagnose any condition and is not a substitute for actual psychotherapy. If you need help finding and choosing a therapist, I've written about that!: https://www.dramrastafford.com/blog/how-to-choose-a-therapist

Welcome to One Quiet Voice

lundi 2 septembre 2024Duration 09:30

Welcome to One Quiet Voice!

In this first episode, I introduce myself and my intentions for this podcast:

  • I'm a clinical psychologist and a lifelong spiritual seeker. I discuss being an empath and a "sensitive".
  • We live in turbulent times. How can we navigate them without burning out or going negative? How can turbulence actually create needed change?
  • One of the topics I most care about is how to set boundaries and stay true to what our inner voice - which we all have - is telling us.
  • The podcast will also feature some of the psychological and psycho-spiritual topics I most often talk about in my work that, in my opinion, are true for nearly everyone.

How My 'Failure' Changed The World: The Power of Sensitivity, Writing, and Synchronicity

mardi 17 septembre 2024Duration 20:00

In this episode, I discuss synchronicity, or "meaningful coincidence," and how much you matter, even if you don't know it! I read from my essay, "How My 'Failure' Changed The World: The Power of Sensitivity, Writing, and Synchronicity."

Some resources for depression:

  • The 988 Lifeline is “a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.” Simply dial 988 from any phone.
  • As a psychologist, I obviously believe in the power of psychotherapy! You can read my article on how to find therapist for additional resources and considerations.
  • NAMI “works to educate, support, advocate, listen and lead to improve the lives of people with mental illness and their loved ones.”
