#1 | Trying to Optimise Everything Is Doing You More Harm Than Good

Episode 1

vendredi 4 juillet 2025 • Duration 30:02

Welcome to the debut episode of On Science, the podcast where we dismantle wellness hype, where we decode what the research *actually* says, and we explore evidence-based ways to support your mind and body… without losing your sanity, your soul, or your savings.

This week we’ll be setting the stage for some big topics, amazing guests and powerful conversations that we’ll be sharing in the weeks ahead. You’ll also get to know more about me, my background as a neuroscientist, speaker and wellness expert, and why I’m so passionate about pushing back on the optimisation overload and endless productivity protocols we’re facing in today’s modern wellness culture.

In this episode, Anne-Sophie covers:

  • what the latest research says about continuous glucose monitors

  • the accuracy of fitness trackers and wearable health tech

  • why you should stop trying to over-optimise your sleep

  • realising the limits of cognitive performance

  • boring habits vs productivity protocols

  • is multitasking a myth?

Welcome to On Science

jeudi 19 juin 2025 • Duration 01:29

Hi, I'm Anne-Sophie Fluri and welcome to On Science.

This is the podcast where we dismantle wellness hype, where we decode what the research *actually* says, and we explore evidence-based ways to support your mind and body, without losing your sanity, your soul, or your savings.

And if the premise of this podcast sounds a little bit ā€œHuberman codedā€, I get it... but trust me, it's far from it!

This podcast isn't about protocols, supplement stacks, or turning yourself into a 24/7 productivity machine.

Because the relentless push to optimize everything in the name of health and wellness might actually be doing more harm than good.

All these protocols and supplement stacks… to be honest, it's giving ā€œTech bro with a God complex and blood glucose monitorā€ vibes.

I think we deserve health advice that's a little bit more grounded and not so gamified.

So, if this resonates with you, welcome. You're in the right place.

Please hit subscribe, tell a friend, and if you're feeling really, really generous, leave a review.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and to hear about future topics you'd like us to cover.

I'm new to this and as you can tell, really passionate about this. With this show I'm trying to bring in some really incredible people in the space - some levelheaded voices of reason.

And remember:

- You're not a project.

- You're not a machine.

You're a person.

You don't need to optimize *everything* in order to be productive.

Please make sure to follow On Science wherever you get your podcasts so you don't miss an episode.
