TEDx Speaker FRANK KING Talks Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Struggles01 Apr 202600:17:10
In this powerful episode of On Point With ATIBA TESLIM, we host Frank King, a globally recognized speaker and comedian known for his impactful TEDx talks on suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

Frank begins his keynote with Signs and Symptoms of Stress, Anxiety, Depression and Thoughts of Suicide, and finishes with Solutions, and Postvention (what to do after a Suicide) techniques. He can do a general session for the entire student body, followed by breakout sessions customized for the higher-risk student groups on campus, including students who identify as LGBTQ, Native American, Latino, Alaskan Native, African American, and student veterans. Frank can leave a lasting legacy by certifying Resident Advisors, Faculty, and Staff with a Train the Trainer Program. Despite the mental health struggles faced by college students, the good news is: You can do something about that, you can make a difference, you can save a life.

In 2016 Frank King began coaching potential T Talkers, when a number of his speaker coaching clients approached him and asked if he would coach them on scoring a T Talk opportunity. Since then, dozens of his clients have done their first T Talk, several have done two, and one has done three! Frank King was a writer for the Tonight Show for 20 years, and he holds the record for the longest non stop comedy club road trip ever. Beginning the day after Christmas in 1985, he and his wife (who must have the patience of Job) were on the road 2,629 nights in a row, comedy club to comedy club with no home, just a PO Box and voice mail. He shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, Adam Sandler, Dennis Miller, Ellen DeGeneres, Rosie O'Donnell, Dr. Ken Joeng, Rita Sirleaf and Kevin James among others. Since becoming a public speaker on Suicide Prevention in 2014, he's done multiple Ted Talks.

What if am too OLD21 Feb 202600:13:16
If you woke up today with a dream still in your chest, then you are not too old. If your heart still pulls you toward something, you are not too old. If you feel even a small desire to try again, to start again, to rebuild, to rise, to learn, to explore—then age is not your enemy. It’s your evidence.

The question is not “What if I’m too old?”
The real question is “What if now is exactly the right time?”

What If am not ready yet.06 Feb 202600:06:59
We will be focusing on a series I created "What If” which is reflective and explores the questions we carry but rarely say out loud. Each episode takes a moment, a feeling, or a memory and unpacks the choices behind it — the almosts, the maybes, the regrets, and the versions of ourselves we’re still becoming.

On our first episode we talk about what if am not ready yet, we all know that a diamond doesn’t shine without pressure.
So why do you have to force yourself to become something just because of pressure, on this episode we learn to grow at our own pace.

My Success VS My Friends Success30 Jan 202600:06:32
Officially it's the last episode of the A friend on the road series and focus on talking about your success vs your friends success as our last episode.

At first, you don’t notice it. You’re cheering them on, reposting their achievements, dropping fire emojis on their updates. You’re proud—genuinely proud. But slowly, quietly, in places you don’t talk about… you start to feel something else too.

A mix of confusion, pressure, inspiration, and a tiny whisper of insecurity.

It’s a strange feeling when your friends start reaching milestones that you haven’t touched yet.
A new job.
A bigger platform.
A relationship that actually works.
Money flowing like water.
Opportunities that seem to magically fall into their laps.

Outgrowing My Friends28 Jan 202600:04:35
This episode talks about Outgrowing our friends from our series A friend on the road.
Nobody prepares you for this part of life — the part where friendship stops being about matching vibes and starts being about matching direction. When we were younger, friendship was simple: you liked someone, they liked you back, and that was enough.
But adulthood… adulthood changes the terms without warning.

You wake up one day and realize conversations that used to last hours now feel empty. Jokes that used to bond you now feel recycled. You start talking about your goals, your healing, your growth — and they just stare at you, confused or uninterested. Or worse… they drag your dreams down because they’re too scared to chase their own.

Friends that actually show up23 Jan 202600:06:56
Life is a long road, full of bends, blind spots, potholes, and unexpected detours. And on this unpredictable road, the people who walk beside us become one of the biggest influences on who we become, how far we go, and what parts of ourselves we grow into.

Some of these people are blessings.
Solid shoulders. Steady hands. Real hearts.
Friends.

Friends Or Frenemies21 Jan 202600:07:36

There are people who pass through your life like shadows — present but unsubstantial, familiar but unreliable. They come when the weather is fair and disappear at the first sign of a storm. They exist in the category of acquaintances who never evolve into anything more meaningful.

But then there are the others.
The rare ones.
The ones whose loyalty has depth, whose love has weight, whose presence has meaning.
The ones who show up.

Friends we actually Need15 Jan 202600:05:44

There comes a time in every person’s life when the noise around them becomes too loud, the faces become too many, and the meaning behind the word “friend” begins to blur. You wake up one morning and realize countless people walk in and out of your life daily, yet only a handful truly feel like home. And in that moment, you aren’t asking for popularity, or a crowd, or a circle—you’re asking for the right people. The friends you actually need.

Can i trust my Friends13 Jan 202600:06:10

Friendship is one of the most beautiful and complicated gifts we get as humans. It feels simple on the surface—two people who vibe, laugh, share, and survive life together. But when you peel back the layers, you start to realize there’s something deeper, something fragile and sacred about the bonds we call “friendship.” It’s easy to say “that’s my friend,” but it takes an entirely different level of awareness to ask yourself, “Can I trust my friends?”

Recognizing my true Friend12 Jan 202600:09:12
Today, we're tackling a topic that's timeless, universal, and yet so often misunderstood: recognizing your true friends. In a world of social media facades, quick alliances, and conditional loyalties, how do you spot the real ones? The ones who aren't just riding the wave but anchoring you through the storms? This episode is inspired by our ongoing series, *A Friend on the Road*, where we explore the journey of relationships in all their complexity. If you caught our opener, "Who Is My Friend?", you know we started by breaking down the basics. But today, we're going deeper—much deeper. We'll dissect the signs, the red flags, the psychology, and even some cultural insights from our Nigerian perspective, because friendship here isn't just personal; it's communal.

THE MOMENT YOU REALIZE YOU ARE NOT WHO YOU WERE01 Jan 202600:06:49

There are turning points in life that don’t announce themselves with fireworks or celebration. They don’t come with applause, or captions, or some cinematic soundtrack swelling in the background. They come quietly — quietly enough that if you aren’t paying attention, you might miss the exact second the ground under your identity shifts. And yet, anyone who has ever truly grown knows this moment intimately. It is the moment when your inner world pauses, as if holding its breath, and whispers a truth your outer world has not caught up to:

“You are not who you were.”

what do you see in SILENCE27 Dec 202500:07:27

Silence is one of the strangest companions a human being can have. It sits beside you without asking permission. It follows you into rooms you don’t realize are empty. It shows up in the early morning before the world remembers to wake up, and again at night, when the last conversation fades and you’re left with your own breathing. Most people try to avoid silence, sometimes without even knowing why. They turn on music, scroll endlessly, talk to fill the air, keep themselves busy so the stillness doesn’t get a chance to settle.

Seeing the signal's Life sends you26 Dec 202500:07:13

Life rarely shouts. It rarely storms into the room with a megaphone and demands that you pay attention. Instead, it whispers. It taps your shoulder lightly, like an old friend trying not to interrupt. The world moves in a pattern of signals—soft, subtle, often invisible to anyone who isn’t intentionally looking. Yet these signals shape the turnings of our lives far more than the loud moments ever will. To understand them is to understand yourself; to respond to them is to live with a deeper sense of purpose.

Seeing beyond your thoughts23 Dec 202500:08:08

There is a moment—soft, nearly invisible—in which a human being realizes that their thoughts are not the boundaries of their existence. It rarely arrives with fanfare. It does not tear through the sky like a revelation.

To see beyond your thoughts is to understand that the mind, brilliant as it is, is only one layer of perception. The mind produces thoughts the way the ocean produces waves—constant, repetitive, inevitable. But you are not the wave. You are the ocean.

Yet for most of life, we mistake the continuous movement on the surface for the tot

Seeing what happened and understanding what it meant.19 Dec 202500:13:28

There is a difference between remembering an event and understanding it. Most of us live with memories, but very few live with meaning. We can recall what happened with astonishing clarity—the day, the words, the faces, the tone—but still remain blind to what it was truly saying to us. Time passes, the moment fades, yet its influence lingers, shaping choices we do not consciously connect back to its origin. This is the quiet power of events left uninterpreted.

Seeing what happened is easy. Understanding what it meant is rare.

Life does not speak in explanations. It speaks in experiences. It presents moments without subtitles, without footnotes, without context. It hands you situations and waits to see whether you will simply survive them or actually listen to them. Most people move on too quickly, eager to escape discomfort, desperate to return to normal. But normal is often the enemy of insight.

Seeing without Seeing16 Dec 202500:07:51

Seeing without seeing is not about darkness. It is about distraction. It is about familiarity dulling perception. It is about the mind racing so fast that the soul cannot keep up. It happens when we confuse recognition with understanding, and exposure with awareness. We assume that because we have looked at something for years, we have truly seen it. But the truth is, many of the most important things in life hide in plain sight, waiting not for the eyes, but for presence

We see our parents every day, yet fail to notice when their voices soften with age. We see our friends smile, yet miss the tiredness behind their laughter. We see cities rise and fall around us, yet ignore the quiet erosion happening inside our own minds. We see success displayed loudly, but overlook the cost paid silently.

Seeing the veils that blocks your vision15 Dec 202500:10:24
Every veil in your life was placed there for a reason. Some were protective, created by your mind to keep you safe when you were not ready to face certain truths. Some were inherited, shaped by your upbringing, your environment, or your culture. Some were emotional, built from past experiences, heartbreaks, disappointments, and betrayed expectations. And some veils came from the illusion that you already understood yourself. Sight Beyond Sight series teaches you to see quickly, not deeply. To judge instantly, not truthfully. To react, not reflect. And so you learn to mistake the veil for vision, the story for the truth, the pattern for the person.

This is what clarity feels like.
This is what awakening begins with.
This is what seeing beyond sight truly means.

The veil was never the truth.
It was only the limit placed between you and it.

Seeing quiet things you can't hear12 Dec 202500:07:55
This is the Sight Beyond Sight Series and our third episode talks about seeing quiet things you can't hear, there are moments in life when the loudest truths are carried by things that make no sound. Moments  when understanding comes not from what is said, but from what shifts in the space between you and another person. Seeing quiet things you can’t hear is an art, a sensitivity, a subtle skill that grows only when you stop trying to understand life through noise and begin to interpret it through presence. It is the ability to feel what is moving behind actions, beneath expressions, above conversations, and inside stillness. It is the moment you start recognizing that human beings communicate on frequencies the ears aren’t designed to capture.

This kind of sight doesn’t happen in the rush of life; it happens when you learn to pay attention. Beneath every silence, there is a message. Beneath every hesitation, there is a story. Beneath every smile, there is a truth — sometimes light, sometimes heavy, always meaningful. The world is filled with currents of emotion, intention, and energy, and they are always swirling, always directing, always shaping interactions in ways the untrained eye misses. People reveal themselves constantly, but rarely through words. They reveal themselves through the things they fail to say, the things they avoid saying, the timing of what they say, and the tone they use when they’re pretending not to feel what they feel.

On the second episode of the series we focus on understanding what you actually see. There is something subtle that happens when we move from merely seeing to truly understanding what we see. It is a shift so delicate that most of us never notice when it begins, and we only recognize it when something inside us feels different—calmer, clearer, more aware. In the last episode, we explored what it means to see more than what you see, to look beyond surfaces and illusions. But today, we go deeper. Because once you start seeing beyond, the next challenge is interpreting what stands right in front of you. Understanding your perception. Understanding your reactions. Understanding the truth behind the picture.

Sight Beyond Sight is an awakening journey into the deeper layers of perception — a series that teaches you how to see the world, yourself, and your life with a clarity the eyes alone can’t offer. Each episode opens another layer of awareness, guiding you past noise, past narratives, and past the illusions that block real understanding.

This is not just a conversation — it’s an unveiling.
A slow, steady awakening of the inner vision that has always been with you.

From reading the quiet things people never say, to understanding life’s hidden signals, to seeing the stories you tell yourself, this series walks you through the art of perception, intuition, and truth.

How do you handle your emotions With CEDRIC BERTELLI02 Dec 202500:11:59

In this transformative episode, I Atiba Teslim invites renowned emotional-awareness coach Cedric Bertelli for a deep exploration into the world of inner balance, emotional clarity, and self-mastery.

Hestarted studying emotional functioning in 2009, through my years of working with clients, therapists, parents, educators, and physicians I have developed an understanding of how the brain can resolve disruptive emotional patterns naturally. Still, to this day, I am amazed by the effectiveness and speed at which emotional or behavioral patterns, even very old ones, can be permanently resolved.

Cedric breaks down the real reason our emotions overwhelm us, how to decode what we feel "without running from it", and the hidden patterns that quietly shape our reactions, decisions, and relationships.

This conversation is raw, grounding, and filled with practical wisdom for anyone trying to take back control of their inner world. Whether you’re healing, growing, or simply trying to understand yourself better, this episode gives you the tools to finally connect with your emotions in a healthier, more empowering way.

Tap in and learn how to:
• Recognize emotional triggers
• Release stored emotional tension
• Build emotional intelligence from the inside out
• Become the strongest and calmest version of yourself

This isn’t just self-help—this is emotional evolution.

becoming the person you needed when you were younger19 Oct 202500:07:16

No matter how old you are, a part of you is still that child who once needed comfort.
You might wear confidence now, move with strength, and speak with certainty — but somewhere deep within, there’s still a version of you that remembers the pain of being unheard, misunderstood, or unprotected.

Maybe you needed someone to tell you that you were enough.
Maybe you needed someone to listen without judgment.
Maybe you just needed someone to stay — when everyone else left.

The truth is, most of us grow up seeking in others what we didn’t receive when we were younger.
We chase validation, affection, stability — not because we’re greedy for love, but because we were once starved of it.

And that’s why healing isn’t just about forgiving the past.
It’s about learning to give yourself now what you needed *then.*

Understanding the point of peace after chaos17 Oct 202500:03:46

There comes a point in every storm…
when the thunder stops.

The noise fades, the chaos settles,
and for the first time in a long time — there’s quiet.

But the quiet doesn’t always feel peaceful at first.
Sometimes… it feels strange.
Empty.
Almost too quiet.

Because after you’ve lived in survival mode for so long,
peace can feel like something you have to *learn* all over again.

When life forces you to slow down15 Oct 202500:10:53

There are moments when everything you’ve been running toward suddenly comes to a stop.
The plans, the progress, the constant movement — all of it just… freezes.
And at first, it feels unfair.

You start to wonder — *why now? why me?*
You think you’re losing time,
you think you’re falling behind.
But maybe… just maybe,
you’re being *protected*.

We live in a world that glorifies the rush.
We celebrate the busy.
We treat exhaustion like it’s a medal of honor.
We think if we’re not moving.

being scared to make a move11 Oct 202500:10:31
Change is one of life’s few constants, and yet, it is also one of our greatest fears. The idea of “moving” — whether it means changing cities, ending a relationship, switching careers, or stepping away from what feels safe — often sends waves of anxiety through even the strongest of hearts. This fear is not simply about the physical act of relocating or taking a new path; it is about the uncertainty, the vulnerability, and the confrontation with the unknown that comes with it.

To be scared to move is to be human. It is a silent struggle that lives inside every person who has ever stood at the edge of a decision, looking out into a future they cannot predict. Yet, within that fear lies the possibility of freedom — a truth many discover only after daring to take the first step.

Point of karma unfolding everyday06 Oct 202500:07:22
Can we change our past? Don’t we know the answer? We can’t! Nobody can. The past is
over, it’s gone! But what about the future? Have you ever stopped to wonder how does the
future unfold? Do we have control over the future.
