Sorry we missed last week! This week we're back and we're starting a new mini-arc of episodes looking back at the Nintendo 64. Consider this episode your general overview of the console and what it meant to us personally, also we close the episode with a discussion on a recent Patreon poll asking listeners to rank the greatest N64 games of all time.

Our trio screws around a lot and I guess at some point they talk about Arc Raiders.

More importantly they pay a small tribute to a friend of theirs who is gone.

Farewell, Nariko.

Hey friends sorry the feed has been extremely inconsistent as of late, I'm sorta going through a time of great upheaval! But I feel like once the dust settles I'm going to be able to provide you with a much better version of this show. This week Hunter and Jamie sit down to talk about an old favorite in order to get some new perspective on a Sega Saturn masterpiece. Also Jamie talks a lot about the new Mario Galaxy movie.

Hey we're going to be a Monday show for a while! I've been working on some format changes in the background for both OGA and SCPT so that's been causing delays and other things but we're gonna be switching our release days since I don't have anything that comes out on Mondays and tbh it's just better for me this way. This week Me, Jamie, and EJ talk about Slay The Spire 2 which is essentially going to ruin productivity in this country once and for all! Also we talk about Heavyweights again.

We do talk a lot about Mega Man though, generally and then also specifically MM X3 so check it out! Also sorry about the lack of episode last week I've been having a weird time in my life!

Sorry it's been a minute since you got more content that I know you crave but Hunbun got the flu so his butt was out of commission. This week I've got EJ over and we're talking about three different games that are all about climbing, climbing is the new jumping. Jumping is dead.

This week the boys are back in the zone, they've done their homework and it is time. Today Hunter, Matt, Shelton, and Alex (Exothermic from ExothermicPlaysGames) sit down to choose their favorite game of 1995. There word will be definitive and I can't wait to find out WHAT THEY'RE GONNA PICK. Jk I already know because I was in the episode, it's me Hunter.

We took a week off for the holidays but actually Hunter, Shelton, and Chris Felton (Who you will remember from the Space Ghost episode) met up to record a way too long sendup of one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. In this episode we rank every David Lynch feature and each season of Twin Peaks in chronological order! Obviously this doesn't have anything to do with video games but hey don't worry about it, consider this an unasked for New Year's day present!

Hunter was able to talk Ernest Jernest into coming right back to talk about one of the biggest games of the century, Hollow Knight: Silksong. Apologies that we're not exhaustedly discussing sparse details of this game in a hotel room in Indianapolis but we thought maybe we'd do it justice this time. ;)

This week Hunter and newcomer Shelton Brister sit down to talk about the darkest game in OGA history. A twisted weirdo post-apocalyptic point-and-click written by Harlan Ellison. The show is back! We've got a new theme song and a whole new style of episode. Expect new weekly episodes going forward but for this first week I've gone solo in celebration of the 30 year US anniversary of my beloved Playstation. This episode is basically just me (Hunter) reading a listicle I wrote ranking the 11 launch titles for the PS1 and even though I have a lot of love for this era of gaming, most of my short blurbs are me making fun of these old games so enjoy that or not, next week I'll be back with something more traditional for you.

And we're back with another Tournament bracket to determine what is the GOTY for 2024. In this episode the full panel of Matt, Hunter, Sun, and EJ will discuss 16 games and it somehow takes even longer than the 1994 episode took! Next week we'll decide which year was best but for now let's reflect on the year that has just ended and determine where OGA will plant its' flag for which game truly deserves to be crowned the very best. Happy New Year!

Both of our GOTY's for this year were supposed to be one episode but we finally realized that that episode would be 6 hours long and so we've split it up!

This week, 16 of the best games from 1994 go head to head until we determine which of them was the best. SEGA vs Nintendo. RPGs vs Action games. There's a lot to cover! Next week, the 1994 GOTY will compete with the 2024 GOTY to determine, once and for all, which year was best...

This week the boys are tired because they recorded all of the episodes in one night but we still get a lot of good talk into this one. We're talking about all the random 2024 games we didn't get to this year either because we didn't play it, didn't finish it, or just didn't get it into the podcast schedule! It's a fun one. In the opening Hunter calls his friend a "dumb guy" but I want you to know it was meant with love.  See you again soon for our goty episode and the re-ranking of the list episode!

This episode opens with discussion of PULP FICTION, which has notably never been discussed on a podcast by boys before so get ready for that. The rest of the episode is a silly romp where the boys round up some of the games they didn't have time for that came out thirty years ago. EJ throws some joke entries in there, and Sun gets confused about the rules. It's a classic!

This episode is a lot of fun. Listen to Matt, Hunter, EJ, and Sun as they draft their picks to decide the game of the year for 1994 and 2024. Later this month their draft picks will face off to decide which is best but for now the boys recap both years and this project generally. It's the first part in what will be a four part finale run with all boys present! Also EJ had two of his wisdom teeth removed earlier today. So there is that.

IT'S TIME TO GET FANTAZIO. Hunter and Sun sit down this week to talk about the surprise Atlus JRPG hit and close down the end of the season with our last regular 2024 game! We had a great time and this episode features our final normal list segment and boy can you feel it, we're very excited about our end of the year episodes so stay tuned! Also hit up our patreon to submit games to the 2024 and 1994 Everywheel so that we can determine what the GOTY is for both years!

This week Matt, EJ, and Hunter sit down to talk about a stone-cold classic that everyone loves. DONKEY KONG. It's a really silly one and I hope you listen to it while gettin' some much needed potassium.

We're close to the end of the year and we had a late surprise GOTY contender in Sony and Team Asobi's Astro Bot. A character and studio previously relegated to tech demos for Sony were finally given the reins to their own full game and they completely knocked it out of the park. We're obsessed with this little and I'm ready for the return of the mascot platformer. Sony, you've maybe won over a new crony...

It's a U.S. Election Day spectacular as Hunter and game designer Cole Wehrle (Root, Oath, Arcs) sit down to talk about one of the foundational games of the RTS genre. Does it hold up? Did it see the future? How good is it? All will be answered this week!

Stay tuned after the discussion for the announced date of the Age of Empires 2 SMASHATHON and how we'll be changing the show for 2025.

This week Matt and Hunter sit down to double up and talk about two exciting games from the before times! One is a Capcom platformer with real good art and the other is a pre-Warcraft Blizzard console game in the style of Another World. This one was recorded in person and has a real excited feel to it.

This week we have two of our Game Dev friends from Leder Games: Cole Wehrle and Nick Brachmann and we're talkin' deep on some UFO 50. In this show four souls trade stories of their experiences with a bygone game studio that never was. I won't mince words, I love this game and I really think you should check it out.

This week Matt and Hunter commemorate a very special game that has been a white whale for this podcast from the beginning. Await with bated breath as we find out whether or not this JRPG is finally the one that Matt finds himself enjoying, will it score higher than FF7? The only way to find out is by listening!
