In the last 20 years Tim Gittens has become one of most influential basketball players. Tim Gittens was a collegiate all-star and had an impressive and extensive professional basketball career.  Gittens had an opportunity to play in the NBA and also dominated on teams in the USBL, ABA, China, Iran, Puerto Rico, and England; he also played for the Harlem Globetrotters.  He proudly wears the number 13 on his jersey in honor of his late father, who was also a Harlem Globetrotter.  Gittens is most famous for playing in national and international streetball competitions; he began competing in these competitions as a child and was given a nickname, Headache.  Headache became a dominating, feared force on the basketball court.  He became a founding member on the world renown, And 1 Streetball Team.  Headache was one of the most recognized players on the And 1 worldwide tour; a headliner for the nationally televised And 1 series, that aired on ESPN; and also a star on the And 1 Streetball Mixtape/DVD for 5 consecutive years.   He starred in the video game Street Hoops from Activision.  He has endorsed athletic apparel.  He has been featured in music videos, print ads and various publications.  Some publications have included: GQ, Dime, New York Times, Men’s Journal, and Forbes.  Gittens’ most recent film appearance, Doin’ It In The Park, features him alongside Julius “Dr. J” Erving and other streetball Hall of Famers.     Through worldwide travels, Gittens noticed some issues and decided to do his part into creating a solution and positive/life-changing results.  Now he is an assistant coach in the WNBA with the Dallas Wings..Congratulations King

He also played college ball at St Augustine in GA. Trouble had a way of finding the Harlem Legend but his journey to Redemption is one for the books.

Rich Brunson is entering his fifth season as the head coach of the Brookdale's women's basketball program. In his first three seasons, his teams earned their way to the Region XIX conference championships. In Brunson's first year (2016), he was honored with Region XIX, Coach Of The Year, as his Jersey Blues qualified for a trip to the national tournament. Coach Brunson produced two 1st team All-Americans and Players Of The Year; Che'Kasha Andrews (Willmington University), who is Brookdale's women's basketball all-time leading scorer, and Haley Dalonzo (NYIT). Brunson was an assistant coach for the Brookdale's men's basketball program from 2012-2016. In his first season, the Jersey Blues were crowned the national champs and conference champs the following year as well. The men's program had an outstanding record of 102-25 in his four-year tenure. Coach Brunson served as the boys assistant coach at Matawan High School, Piscataway Vocational High School, and Raritan Valley Community College. He also served as the Head Coach for New Brunswick Vo-tech and St. Peters (girls) High School. Brunson has played a crucial role in over 74 players receiving athletic scholarships in major programs and professional careers overseas, including five NBA players. Brunson also serves as a Special Education Aide at Monmouth Regional High School.

And while all the And 1 Mix Tape moves may get him props on the playground, it's his true point guard game and it's inherent "winning" ways that's made Hill one of the hottest recruiting commodities with college coaches. The Boys and Girls School of Brooklyn is known as one of the premier basketball schools in New York City and the city league is known as one of the toughest in the country. Her school has never missed the playoffs and the Kangaroos have won the city championship three times and the state championship once🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 The coach can be an imposing figure on the sidelines of any sport. But one would expect that a boys’ basketball team would be coached by a man. It’s fairly common to see men coaching girls’ basketball, but it is not often that you find a woman coaching boys’ basketball. Yet one of the most successful boys’ basketball coaches in New York high school history is a female, Ruth Lovelace, and she has been here in southwest Georgia for the last few days. Her team was scheduled to play Eagles Landing High School in the championship game of the Roundball Classic at Lee County after beating Albany’s Monroe and Central Macon in the first two rounds. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Her players don’t have an issue with her being a woman. Capone-N-Noreaga released their first single “Illegal Life” featuring Mobb Deep’s Havoc in 1996 after signing to Neil Levine’s Penalty Recordings. The record laid the groundwork for N.O.R.E. and Capone to drop their debut studio album the following year. However, Capone was locked up after violating his parole, which led Noreaga to finish the project himself. Comprised of 20 songs, The War Report was released in 1997 and contains features from Mobb Deep, Busta Rhymes, Iman THUG, Troy Outlaw and frequent collaborator Tragedy Khadafi (who appears on more than half of the project), among several others. The album boasts singles like “L.A., L.A.,” which serves as a direct response to Snoop Dogg’s “New York, New York,” as well as records like “T.O.N.Y. (Top Of New York)” and “Driver’s Seat.” Widely considered a street classic by fans and critics alike, the project was pivotal for the music scene in Queens and still remains a cult favorite 25 years later.

Steve Rivers lived in Bklyn until 1973 when at age 11, they moved to Uniondale NY.Steve began playing organized Basketball in the 6th grade and played for Lawrence Road JHS. In 1977, Steve went on to school at LI Lutheran HS where he gained honors as an All Long Island guard in both his junior and senior years.Steve received a full basketball scholarship to play at the Univ. of Maryland where he played with such players as Albert King, Buck Williams, Ernie Graham, Adrian Branch, Herman Veal and the late great Len Bias.The highlight of his career was when he scored 29 pts vs NC State his junior year.Steve was fortunate to have the opportunity to play vs great college players such as Isaiah Thomas,Hakeem Olajuwon,James Worthy and Michael Jordan.In 1984 he received his degree in Gov't and Politics with a minor in Sociology.He began working as a NYC school teacher in 1986,and is still teaching JHS in the Charter school sector.He is married to Veneta Rivers and has two children,Joshua 21,and Deanna 27.Steve is also proud to say that he is a born again Christian who serves as Vice chairman of the deacon board at Brown Memorial Baptist Church.Steve is currently resides in Brooklyn and still serves as a coach at LI Lutheran summer basketball camp.🏀

Ryan's basketball exploits began at John Jay High School, where, as a senior, he averaged 26 ppg. Ryan later took his game to East 5th St. Park in Brooklyn, where he mastered the tricks and shots he became well known for. In his first season in a recreational league at West 4th, Ryan played one game against former Detroit Piston Phil Sellers and scored 44 points. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Ryan is most well known for his very proficient 3-point shooting. According to an article written by Bobbito Garcia about Ryan in Slam Magazine Streetball Special Collector's Issue, Chris Mullin once described Jack as the best shooter he'd ever seen who hadn't played in the NBA. The article also states Peter Vecsey got Ryan a tryout with the New Jersey Nets in 1990, but was the second-to-last man cut, ending Ryan's NBA aspirations. In May 2003 Ryan was named as one of "Slam Magazines Greatest Playground Ballers of All Time." BasketballHeadzz Presents: Awesome Interview w/ NYC Legend @iam_kareemreid 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 His school career started with St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School. As a freshman on JV, the team went 33-1 and won the city championship. With the closing of the school. His search led him to another Bronx school, the famous basketball school St. Raymond High School for Boys. The reason he chose this school was because all of the members from his previous team decided on going to the powerhouse Harlem school, the Rice Raiders, located on 124th street. During his time at St. Raymond’s, as a junior, he led the team to a New York City and state championship in 1993, and as a senior, the 1994 city championship. With these accomplishments, he was awarded being named a McDonald’s All-American as one of the top-rated points guards in the country. 🏀🏀 His college career wasn’t as smooth as any senior transitioning into college because of his ACT score, which made him have to sit out the 1994-95 season with the University of Arkansas. When the 1995-96 season began, he was a freshman that led the Razorbacks to the Sweet Sixteen in the 1996 NCAA Tournament and an NIT Final Four as a sophomore. At the end of his college career, he was the all-time leader in assists with 748 and third all-time in steals with 251.  After the 1995-96 season, he was named All-SEC Freshman Team and as a sophomore, he was named 2nd Team All-SEC.  Coming from the Bronx, Kareem Reid has lived a life that many inner-city kids would dream of living, and every day another star is born. 🏀🏀 Aside from his success at the HS and College levels, Kareem also made himself a household name on the NYC Streetball scene.  With his patented spin move and heart of a warrior, Reid always played with a chip on his shoulder.  At 5’10” he was one of the shortest guys to put up huge numbers at venues such as EBC at Rucker Park, Kingdome and Dyckman just to name a few.  Most notably playing with Mousey’s Dream Team and Fat Joe’s Terror Squad, Reid feasted on the competition winning multiple Championships and MVP awards.  Salute goes out to Kareem “The Best Kept  Secret” Reid, one of the best

Curtis High School Great @nemiath44 Few people have as much admiration for the SIHSL Tournament as Red Tripp, the championship-game MVP while playing point guard for Curtis in 1999. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 “It brings back a lot of great memories,” said Tripp, sitting at the press table during Wednesday night’s semifinals at Wagner College. “Nothing but good times.” 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Tripp (with ball) helped the Warriors finish 17-0 on Staten Island during his senior campaign of 1998-99. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 He was a smooth-dribbling, assist machine who'd often turn steals into points. He earned Advance All Star status as a senior. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Tripp scored 23 points in the Warriors' SIHSL Tournament championship game victory over St. Peter's. Tripp was in the middle Curtis’ four-year run as SIHSL champions (1997-2000), playing for the 1998 and 1999 title squads. He made the all-tourney team both seasons, earning MVP honors after scoring 23 points in a 69-62 win over St. Peter’s during his senior campaign. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 He remains in close contact with Gannon, his former Curtis coach who he calls “the best coach ever on Staten Island.” 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Tripp can effortlessly rattle off the names of teammates from his two varsity seasons, but for space considerations here were his fellow Curtis starters on the 1999 title team — Nigel Wyatte, Rob Lewin, Rocky Ferrante and Demitrius Williams.

NYC Legendary Head Coach Johnny Mathis 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 For most basketball coaches, seeing their team mired in a 27-point deficit would be cause for some angry barking, a clipboard fling, and a swig or two of Mylanta. For John F. Kennedy head coach Johnny Mathis, it’s his medicine. Mathis, a fixture at JFK since 1987, has had more to deal with than the average coach. Health issues have thrown him a curve the past several seasons, which has enabled the legendary coach to put subpar play by his team in its proper perspective. So when his Knights were down 49-22 with just over six minutes left in the third quarter in last week’s game against Truman, there were no sideline histrionics. Just a calm timeout, and a chance to get his players’ heads back in the game. “They’re young,” Mathis said. “Most of them are inexperienced so I just tried to settle them down.” Kennedy responded by shaving their 27-point hole to a single point with 16 seconds to play. But Kennedy’s miracle comeback came up just short when Emmanuel Sarbah’s putback off Isaiah Malave’s missed free throw with 0.3 seconds to play came a fraction too late as Truman held on for a 69-67 victory. “We dug a hole that was too deep to come back from,” Mathis said. “We got down 8-0 to start the game, and we just let them shoot and we weren’t playing any defense. But we did exactly what we were supposed to do in the second half, which allowed us to come back from 27 down. If we had done that from the beginning, we would have been all right.”

Long Island Basketball and Hempstead High School Legend, Rhode Island Standout and Professional Baller Kyle Ivey-Jones.. Kyle played for Legendary Coach Ted Adams. So you already know this is going to be a Legendary Evening..Kyle is the only player ever to start on four Long Island championship teams, he was also twice the MVP of the state public schools tournament and put his name at the top of the Tigers' career scoring list (1,701). 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 After leaving Hempstead, he attended Rhode Island University like a few of our past guests. Carlton Silk Owens, Mergin Sina and Abdul Fox. At Rhode Island he continued his steady play before playing pro ball in countries like Hondurus, Puerto Rico, Ireland, England, New Zealand and Portugal. Now He serves as the assistant coach at East Providence High School in Rhode Island.

Boys and Girls St Bonaventure Great & JV Head Coach at Brooklyn Technical High School Elmer Anderson @igotyoubasketball 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Elmer was part of one of the best backcourt in NYC History along side Dwayne "Pearl" Washington. Elmer held his own and was able to translate his game into one of the finest underrated point guards in NYC History. He also did it on the college level at St Bonaventure University where he is a Legend celebrated by his Peers & University. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 He played a few years overseas before returning home to play in the pro-am leagues throughout the city..I had the pleasure of playing against Elmer in the West 4th Basketball Finals. Those were the days. Elmer spent time at his alma mater Boys & Girls as assistant to Ruth Lovelace and was apart of that amazing run of city and state championships. Now he serves as the JV coach for Brooklyn Tech. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

First UNLV player picked in the first round of the NBA Draft and first All-American in school history. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 The 6-foot-3-inch guard scored 855 points in 54 games for a career average of 15.8. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 The Rebels went 20-6 in his first season and 24-5 with an NCAA Tournament berth in his second. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Quotable: “Sobers played two years for us. The first year, he was a pain in the ass. The second year, he was sensational.” — Jerry Tarkanian, former UNLV coach 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Currently: Fitness trainer and sports performance coach in Las Vegas. Played 11 seasons in the NBA after being drafted 16th overall by Phoenix. He once scored 25 points against the Boston Celtics in the NBA finals.. Also played for Indiana, Chicago, Washington and Seattle. Jersey No. 40 was retired by UNLV in 2004. NYC Legendary Coach Mo Hicks @rraider124 ...Its a honor to interview Mo Hicks, who has left such an impact on NYC Basketball has been since unmatched. He is the only coach to win a city championship in both the PSAL & CHSAA...Salute No Hicks, a True NYC Legend. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 In 16 years at Rice high school in Harlem, Hicks won five New York State Federation championships and compiled a record of 352-86. Among Hicks' top players include Kansas State forward Curtis Kelly, Louisville point guard Edgar Sosa, Kemba Walker (Connecticut) 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 If you're from New York City, grew up in the late 1980s and throughout the '90s like I did, and follow CHSAA basketball; you'll automatically recognize Rice High School as one of the perennial dominant forces in city hoops, be it public school or private school. That's why it's still a shock 24 hours after the Harlem institution announced its decision to close. In other words, we truly bid farewell to a legend. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 To honor the legacy of Rice basketball, we'll pay tribute to those that graced the green and gold colors of the Raiders by ranking the ten greatest players in Rice history similar to what we did with the college hoops bucket list in an earlier post. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Any mention of Rice basketball has to include its most decorated head man and former alumnus, one that spent 16 years turning a program once left for dead into one of the premier prep teams in the nation, let alone the city. The only coach in New York City to win both a CHSAA championship and a PSAL title, (with Brandeis in 1992) Hicks was responsible for a Who's Who of future college stars, some of whom will get their own tributes in this space later. He was the director of basketball operations at St. John's University, Hicks is still a profound influence on his former players and in the game. He ranks 5th in career scoring at SIUC with 1,710 career points and was inducted into the school[apos]s Hall of Fame in 1996. Erasmus Hall Leading Scorer in a season, Iona Standout & Founder of Fun Sports Ricky Rivers. @thelifeof_mine As a teen the streets of Brownsville Brooklyn tempted him to head in the wrong direction. Luckily, he connected with the father of Brooklyn basketball, Mr. Gil Reynold’s, which put him on the path toward All American honors as a player at Lamar College. From there he found his way into the division 1 program at Iona College. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Faced with the responsibilities of fatherhood and being a collegiate student athlete, he persevered and was able to do well athletically, parent effectively and earn his degree from Iona. Yet for some reason, Bobby Moran remains unnoticed. Never one to garner much attention during his time at the Heights, Moran has emerged in 1991 as one of the brightest veterans among a group of you ngsters bu i Iding for the futu re. Much like his first few years as an Eagle, when Moran was overshadowed by the likes of Dana Barros, Steve Benton and Bryan Edwards, Moran had to step aside this season and watch as all the attention shifted toward an extremely bright recruiting "lass, a class that happened to aoast three quality guards. ! Yet through it all, Moran has been enjoying hisfinest campaign ever, averaging BIG EAST career highs in points (8.4), rebounds (5.5), shooting percentage (45%), 3-point field goal percentage (48%), free throw percentage (89%), and he has already eclipsed his career high in steals with 28. The fact that Moran has been able to put up such respectable numbers while constantly taking a back seat in the publicity department is a testament not only to his perserverance but to his desire and tremendous work ethic as well. "I try to work hard and do the best I can in all aspects of the game," said the likable Moran. "But sometimes I think I put too much pressure on myself. Just playing hard is not enough for me -—that's what they give you a scholarship for." Amazing interview w/ Grady High School Legend, Kansas City State University Great & 4-Time NBA All-Star Rolando Blackman. Grady High School was where Blackman’s passions and skills developed, and by the time he was a senior, he was named a NYC All-city basketball in player. He then went on to play at Kansas State University before being drafted with the ninth overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks in 1981. Blackman has been a legend for the Dallas Mavericks, both on and off the court. After his 13 seasons in the NBA came to an end, Blackman continued his basketball career in many different positions with the Dallas Mavericks including defensive coordinator, assistant coach, and Director of Player Development and currently serves at the Vice President of Corporate Relations. Madison High School and Georgia College Legend Darrell Flowers @nydflowers . Darrell was a problem. That's a Super Fact!!! We had to face him two times a year plus conference playoffs. He was the floor general for Madison which had Big Panama and Smooth Boone on the wing. They were solid. Darrell was All Brooklyn Guard and one of the best guards in NYC. Goes to show you the amount of competition it was back in the 80's. In 1986 we had a three way tie for 1st in our conference with Grady and Madison the year we won the city championship so you already know how tough it was in the Brooklyn A Division (now the AA). Darrell lit our league up 💯💯💯💯 Darrell wasn't finished there, he went down to Georgia College and continued where he left off in NYC. He was named All Conference and his team won there conference championship 2x. Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau pulled Walker completely from the Knicks' rotation and benched him last week ahead of their game against the Brooklyn Nets. He hasn't played since. Walker was averaging 11.7 points and 3.1 assists per game this season in New York, both career-lows for the 11-year veteran.

A 6'6" power forward from St. John's University, Davis played four seasons (1973–1977) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the New York Knicks and New York Nets. He averaged 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in his NBA career. After taking his basketball career to Europe, where he played in Italy, France, and Switzerland, Davis oversaw the marketing division of PepsiCo. Shortly after, he returned to the NBA and began a long career running player programs; orienting rookies and helping players make a smooth transition to the world post-basketball. In 2005, he was personally appointed by David Stern and accepted the position of Executive Director of the National Basketball Retired Players Association. Davis holds a marketing degree from St. John's, master's degrees in psychology and counseling from Fordham University, and a master's degree in career planning from New York University.

Abdul Fox, voted by basketball bishop, Dick Vitale as one of America’s top small forwards collegiate careers included NIT and NCAA tournament appearances for the University of Rhode Island. Drafted in the 2nd round in the CBA and picked by the Pittsburgh Piranhas, Fox was a free agent of Denver Nuggets and Chicago Bulls and played in the European/International league in Italy, France, Spain, Cyprus, Israel, Switzerland, Venezuela, Taiwan, Dominican Republic, and Turkey. He began playing basketball in Queens, NY, and was trained by the legendary coach Vincent Smith older brother of TNT analysts and NBA Champ Kenny Smith. Fox obtained a full scholarship to a prestigious prep school called Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA. He was named first team all New England leading the men’s basketball to a New England Championship his senior year He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rhode Island in Early Childhood Development and a Minor in African American History and received the President’s Award for superior academic achievement in African American History.

Just a kid from Manhattan’s Lower East Side community, Brian grew up in Smith Houses.  I remember running into him on the court a few times for my middle school games and thinking he was as quick and as deadly as Allen Iverson, but the middle school version!  Actually, my first thought was, I hope we play a zone… The kid was amazing with the basketball, but he never spoke two words about his greatness.  Watching him made it easy to forget how much time, effort, and focus it takes to create a skill set like his.  To this day, well into his 30’s he’s still a threat on the court, but that’s a credit to his yesterday focus.  Brian’s focus for today is to continue providing his Lower East Side community with its own brand of high-caliber street ball.  He wanted to gift LES with a brand of basketball that that could be seen on NYC’s biggest street ball stages—the very stages of —West 4th Street’s “The Cage”, Kingdome, Rucker Park, Dyckman—where Brian showcased his talents as he grew from a boy to a man.  Brian started, “A lot of people from the L.E.S., if they didn’t really know ball like that, they didn’t really go other places and see basketball at a high level.”  His passion was calm but strong; he was focused as he spoke. “So I really wanted to bring that type of basketball down here for them to see it and really be a part of that culture.”  Isn’t that the way of a leader?  To experience, gather, and return home to redistribute? That was the start of a joke I wrote to begin and end this piece; but it wound up one of many in a pile of crumpled ideas that struggled to match the impact a man like Brian Gardenhire has had on his community.  To fully grasp the picture being painted we must start with the very background first.   The most technologically advanced societies lead the charge into tomorrows days and times.    Unfortunately, however, today’s most technologically advanced have become so focused on what could be, so entangled in realities that are founded on shared ideas rather than actual truths—the virtual—so  connected to machine, that tomorrow’s society is one that is fully disconnected from its original idea of community.  That was the goal: create a community so that the many can survive what the one could never survive alone.   We’ve been given so much access to one another and the worlds around us that our technologically sound societies have focused more on what’s entertaining than what’s fulfilling and what can’t be accessed or acquired rather than what is right in front of themselves.   Here the Pessimist says there’s no point in trying to fix it. The Optimist says, “We don’t need to fix it, people will find their way to a better tomorrow, no matter today.”  At least the Pessimist acknowledges that there’s a problem, that’s the first step! Today and tomorrow’s society needs leaders to remind people of the purpose and importance of community.  People have become distracted by their work and the entertainment that they use to ease the pain and suffering of their work and their everyday lives.  The truth is, people who work as hard as we have come to work, in a society that requires more workers than leaders to create more buyers than sellers, will continue to struggle to see the benefits of being community minded and community focused.   We need people who can bring us together in the name of bonding, strengthening, and connecting, no matter our daily walks of life.  We need those who are willing to put in the extra effort, step away from steering just themselves to help guide so that the rest of us can put in the extra effort it requires to shift the direction of a ship.   His summer league, L.E.S. Express— which actually stands for, “Learn Educate & Succeed”— is now mentioned amongst the top in NYC, boasting of high-caliber regulars that play on the national street ball circuit like Floyd Mayweather’s TMT Showstoppers and this year’s champion The Sean Bell All-Stars.

Archbishop Molloy Great and South Carolina State Standout Laron Mapp @coachmapp718 .. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Molloy Standout who walked in the shadows of greatness with Kenny Smith, Adophus Gaffney Kenny Anderson and Jason Gilliam This 6'4 combo guard with a high IQ and very solid at the guard position. He was an impressive player in the Catholic League and throughout the city. After Molloy, he attended South Carolina State continued to thrive as a student /athlete. At SCSC he had a good enough career and was able to grow as a man. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 These qualities prepared him to play and thrive overseas as a baller. When the game was over as My guy Eric Hicks would say, he began to coach girls basketball at Boys and girls high school. Not one to settle for just coaching, he began training. From what I hear, he doesn't turn anyone away. From the elite to the average and beginner players. Abraham Lincoln Great, 1st Team All-Brooklyn and American International University Standout. Sean "Dunking Hines" Williams @seanbkborn Sean was the captain on our 1986 City Championship Team. He avg. 20pts, 10rebs & 1 dunk per game. He was an athletic junganot. He feared no one and gave us our heart to go out their and compete at a high level. After I left for Maine Central Institute we kinda lost track but talk every now again over the years. He was a dominant force in the PSAL and also participated in the Empire State Games as well. Sean Wiiliams was an underrated ball player the always wanted to go up against the best. I remember the day we had to play against Malloy with Kenny Anderson @kennyanderson7357, Pop Jenningsand Ralph James @kingjames333. We were on the grown floor looking up to Malloy who was on the balcony above. They all had their brand new warm ups on. Well they looked new to us because we had on the sane sweat suits that the Eric Marbury wore in the 70's..😭😭😭😭. Sean yelled up to Ralph James who was his boy and said, "we are going to bust y'all ass". Ralph laughed it off and they went about their way. Up until that point, Malloy had our hearts because they had the #1 Freshman in the country and he didn't even start. They had just beaten St. Anthony's at the buzzer behind a Kenny Anderson jumpshot and he almost did the sane to us. 7secs to go on the clock in overtime and Kenny has the ball. He gets a puck set for him and fires a shot beyond three pint land and at that time there were no three pointers in high school basketball back them. As he is putting up his shot Dave Adebanjo @davengoliath_ gets a piece of the ball and his shot goes in and circles out. Sean predicted we waa going g to bust their ass but we barely escaped another Kenny Anderson miracle..A Classic gane I never saw the tape to. Russ Williams, Brother Martin junior varsity head basketball coach, will be inducted into the 2015 Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 7. Coach Williams is a 1987 graduate of Msgr. McClancy Memorial High School, a Brothers of the Sacred Heart school, located in New York and a 1992 graduate of Manhattan College. In 2003, Coach Williams was inducted into the Msgr. McClancy High School Hall of Fame. At Manhattan College, Williams graduated 15th in school history in scoring and is currently 26th with 1,140 points. Congratulations, coach Williams!Russ Williams is a Transition Coach that empowers individuals in their transitional journey. He is known for supporting student-athletes in their transitional journey to careers. BasketballHeadzz Presents: Great Interview w/ South Shore & Long Island University Great Earl Fuller @earl.fuller.311 . Earl is certified as a serious baller who out in his work early. Earl came up in a time when some of NYC Greatest players in high school was from NYC. He was one of the biggest reasons for Long Island University reaching the NCAA Tournament for the 1st time in school History... Fuller's basket with 5:52 remaining gave LIU a 65-65 tie after the Blackbirds had trailed early in the second half, 47-43. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Fuller converted two free throws with 4:59 left to put LIU in front 67-65 and the Blackbirds never trailed in capturing the ECAC Metro tournament title. 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀 Iona led 41-30 at halftime and widened the margin by hitting four straight free throws 1:36 into the second half when the LIU bench was hit with two successive technical fouls for protesting calls by the officials.
