172 - Negotiation Is Not a Dirty Word: Redefining the Conversation with Susie Tomenchok31 Mar 202500:42:08

Let’s be honest—most of us think of negotiation as a high-stakes, high-stress, boardroom-only kind of thing. But what if negotiation is actually just... conversation? This week on No More Mondays, I sit down with Susie Tomenchok, executive coach, keynote speaker, and negotiation expert, to reframe what negotiation really is—and how to get more comfortable doing it every day.

We dig into why everything is a negotiation (yes, even who’s doing the dishes), how to ditch the win/lose mindset, and how to build confidence by shifting our perspective. Susie shares a practical framework (P.A.C.E.), surprising research, and tips you can use immediately to ask for what you need—without feeling like a jerk.

Whether you’re negotiating a raise, asking your partner to walk the dog, or navigating a client conversation, Susie’s wisdom will help you communicate more effectively and advocate for yourself with authenticity.

If you’ve ever felt weird about negotiating, this episode is for you.

🎧 Tune in and let’s normalize the art of asking.

171 - Storytelling, Strategy & the Science of Persuasion with Cindy Skolicki24 Mar 202500:39:05

We might be climbing up on a soapbox today—and for good reason.

In this week's upcoming episode of No More Mondays, I sit down with speaker, author, and executive communication coach Cindy Skalicky to dig into the art (and science) of impactful messaging.

If you’ve ever wondered why some presentations fall flat while others ignite action, this conversation is for you.

Cindy works with science and tech leaders to build persuasive communication skills that actually move people—whether it's pitching an idea, getting buy-in from a team, or leading through change. Together, we explore everything from rhetoric and storytelling to slide deck design, credibility-building, and the one mistake most leaders make when sharing ideas.

Cindy also shares a sneak peek of her upcoming book, Red Light, Green Light, and how her proven “HOW TO” model helps people make their message land—and last.

Whether you’re a leader, a coach, a small business owner, or just someone who wants to communicate with more clarity and impact, this one’s packed with practical gems (and a few well-earned laughs).

🎯 Spoiler alert: People don’t always need to hear what you want to say—they need to hear what will move them to act.

👉 Tune in, take notes, and maybe even grab a spot on the book waitlist while you’re at it.

162 - The Playbook for Building an Influential Network20 Jan 202500:42:51

👉 Do you want to grow your business but keep getting frustrated by the lack of leads, the amount of content you have to create, or how SEO isn't working for you?

Then this conversation is for you!

Whether you focus on business or individual clients, the principles of B2B sales can apply, and there's one little, tiny word that will make all the difference.

🤯 RELATIONSHIPS!

Donnie Boivin and I are here to shout into the void, stand on our common soap box, and violently agree 🤣 about why relationships - and, therefore, referrals - make your business ( and the world) go round. 🌎

🎙️ Tune in for some fast-paced conversation and action!

Fix the Mindset, Feel the Mindshift: Finding Entrepreneurial Clarity15 Sep 202200:49:56

"Just let go."

That's the advice Staci Wright has for entrepreneurs. Who, generally speaking, aren't best known for their laissez-faire attitudes towards the world of business. By surrendering to what life brings you and not trying to force it or mold it into what you think is the "correct" outcome, you will find the path to your own success.

Think that sounds too good to be true? Then listen in as Staci explains otherwise.

6 Steps to Entrepreneurial Success07 Sep 202200:50:29

The modern American work week can be brutal. Not only are you expected to work long hours for less and less pay, but the benefits aren't always beneficial, and the so-called "vacation time" doesn't stretch nearly far enough. The American Dream just isn't what it used to be...

Like so many of us, Craig Severinsen was stuck in the above work rut, and he decided to do something about it: he founded the Built to Scale Framework, a system for growing your business, putting in place systems so that businesses can grow and scale beyond what the founder is capable of on their own.

Listen in, and let Craig show you how to live life on your own terms.

No, They're Not Dead: You've Been Ghosted31 Aug 202200:34:48

We've all been there before:

You just nailed that interview, and you head home expecting to get your offer letter/call in the morning. But tomorrow comes and goes, and no call or letter. Then the next day, and the next; what gives? What happened? What did I do wrong?

This is the textbook definition of Ghosting, and it's become a problem of pandemic proportion in the modern workplace and dating scene. Dealing with the ghosting epidemic can leave you worn down, beat up, and questioning a lot of things in your life.

That's where Gretta comes in. She is the Guru of Ghosting, helping clients and listeners of her podcast deal with the perpetual trauma of the ghosting culture we all live in.

The Truth About the Mom Juggle24 Aug 202200:34:47

Modern-day parenting is not easy, especially for working moms. The expectation of sacrificing one's sense of self to the wants and needs of their children is so strong that many feel as if they don't have a choice in the matter.

Tracy Bingaman is here to tell you that you do have a choice in the matter. She is a coach and self love guru to over-burdened working moms everywhere, helping others find the work/life balance that they want, and ignoring what is "expected" by society.

Take Life by the Horns and Make It Happen!03 Aug 202200:44:20

Over the course of his career, Robert Peterson has worn more hats than most: Marine, Pastor, Missionary, Author, Entrepreneur, Podcast Host, and Coach. This breadth of experience, coupled with time spent in Costa Rica and Colombia, informs his work with entrepreneurs and his authorship as well.

His powerful message: Believe in yourself; you have value that the world needs. And you just have to believe in it enough to put yourself out there. We all have stories in, of, and about our lives. Some are positive, some negative; some are true, and some are false. By changing your mindset about yourself and the world around you, you can accomplish things you never thought possible.

Listen in for more about Robert and his message everyone should hear.

You Are More Than What You Do26 Jul 202200:30:20

Growing up in America, we're always asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Which in and of itself is fine; but very rarely do we get asked who you want to be when you grow up.

Genesis Amaris Kemp is all about finding the answers to the second question, in order to complement the answer to the first. Working in a pre-ordained space in a pre-ordained job is where she found herself for several years. In finding her way back to her true self and true purpose she has empowered many others to prioritize who they want to be over what they want (or others want of them) to do.

The Power of a Dynamic Duo20 Jul 202200:45:51

Creating a startup and making it succeed is not an easy thing. Usually, it takes a combination of experience, teamwork, business acumen, and lessons learned in past ventures to truly bring the vision to life.

Just ask Dan Fisher and Brett Singer. They are the principals and founders of Bottle Rocket Media in Chicago, IL.  Their venture has grown into the #1 Chicago-based video production agency, garnering numerous awards, including an Emmy. Without their combined experiences and knowledge in the video and television industry, the business wouldn't be where it is today.

This just goes to show how powerful a true partnership can be and the success it can bring; the takeaways from this episode are nearly endless!

Leave the Double Life in the Dust!13 Jul 202200:35:50

Too many of us have been shown the path we are supposed to take, regardless of whether we think it's the path we should take; that road dead ends in frustration and feeling unfulfilled.

Here, Kassi Cheirogeorgou shares where and how her path in life detoured away from the "proper" course she was following, essentially living two completely separate lives at work and at home, and how she found happiness and satisfaction in the more creative direction she chose.

161 - Podcast or Perish: Why You (and Your Business) are Getting Left in the Dust (and How to Catch Up)13 Jan 202500:37:59

Tired of sitting on the sidelines while everyone and their mother starts a podcast? Well, wake up, because your business and personal brand are getting left in the dust if you don't get your podcast game on point.

Discover the unexpected ways podcasting can transform your communication skills, grow your network, and make you and your business an unstoppable force with our guest, Sebastian Rusk, from the Podcast Launch Lab.

Neurodivergence + Remote Work: a Perfect Pairing06 Jul 202200:32:18

Many people in the professional world consider neurodivergence a nuisance. After all, divergent means different, and fitting those circular pegs into the square holes of corporate life doesn't always lead to the best of outcomes. Which is why sometimes the roadmap to career success for neurodivergents involves taking the road less traveled.

Take it from Karina Schulz. She has spent her working life making bipolar work for her in the best ways possible, creating a successful business, and authoring a book about her struggles and successes. By working in ways that complement her strengths, she uses bipolar as her superpower to tackle whatever challenges work (and life) throw at her.

Rebooting the Tech Space Through Empowerment29 Jun 202200:33:35

To say that the tech space has been a less than welcoming place for women to work is like saying you'll get slightly damp if you're caught outside in a hurricane; massive understatements to say the least.

Limor Bergman knows this well. As a software engineer, engineer manager, and director of engineering in a career spanning two decades, Limor has had to navigate a workplace that is often outright hostile towards women, leading her to start a mentorship program with PowerToFly, a non-proft whose goal is to fast-track economic equity by upskilling and connecting underrepresented talent to roles in highly visible sectors.

Through mentorship and coaching, Limor has shared her wisdom with countless women, proving that all those cracked glass ceilings out there are ready to shatter.

Let's Talk About Sex (and Business) Baby!22 Jun 202200:36:38

In order to succeed in one's career, all aspects of life need to be in balance. So many of us think that the solutions to problems at work are always found at work when often the exact opposite is true. What's going on at home and in your personal life has just as much, if not more so, of an impact upon mental well-being in the workplace. Remember, there's no time clock on the adage "You cannot pour from an empty cup."

Enter from stage left Kim Coffin. Kim is an entrepreneur of 25 years, and a Sex, Love, and Relationship Coach whose approach to self-care, self-acceptance, and self-love in all aspects of one's life spills over profusely into the career realm. In this episode, you can expect to find insight into just how much of an impact keeping that cup full has on our bodies, on our well-being, and all of our relationships, most importantly with one's self.

*P.S.* If the title didn't give it away, there will discussions of a sexual nature in this episode. Also, there is a discussion of sexual assault, so please be aware if that's a sensitive subject.

No Means Know: Thriving Through Adversity15 Jun 202200:43:29

'Adversity' is a word that conjures up so many images in one's mind. Challenge. Disempowerment. Difficulty. Rejection.

For some though, it brings to mind something else: opportunity. Opportunity for change, for a breakthrough; this is how Jovan Glasgow uses adversity. Listen in as Jovan explains his approach to life and learn about using all of your experiences, both the good and the bad, as the raw materials for personal growth.

The Superbowl Party Psychic Was Right!08 Jun 202200:29:59

We are all born with natural gifts. Whether we know what exactly those are is another thing altogether.

Corrie LoGiudice seemingly had it all: she ran a successful business, had a lovely home in Brooklyn, and was a happy mother. But underneath the overwhelm was there, the straw ready to break the camel's back. And when the breaking point came and went, it left in its wake the blueprint for change.

Listen in as Corrie shares how she overcame her adversity to find balance in her life, and in the process built a successful coaching business and spoke on the TEDx stage. This is  a story you won't want to miss!

Going Global: Life as a Digital Nomad01 Jun 202200:25:11

To many of us the phrase 'Life as a Digital Nomad' sounds like something straight out of a fairy-tale: simply too good to be true. Or attainable by us, at the least.

Isabel Leong is here to debunk that myth. She has taken her career fully nomadic, having traveled in and worked from over 40 different countries. Listen in as she talks about the challenges she has faced and overcome, and get all the necessary tips to make the transition to full-time nomad a reality!

This Call May Be Monitored for Training Purposes25 May 202200:29:41
We've all heard it before: "This call may be monitored for training purposes." It's been said to us so many times now that we don't even blink at how misguided the whole sentiment is!

Craig Knight is a researcher who studies and consults in the psychology of workplace satisfaction, and we're so happy we got him on the line to discuss his insight into creating engaging and positive workplaces. Want to hear about how the modern office space gets its inspiration from philosophy in 18th century prison architecture? Then this episode is for you.
