In Part 1 of Episode 46, I’m joined by world-renowned instructor Tom Patri and the toughest man I’ve ever met, Tim Simpson.

This week, TP and I dive into the Tour Championship, with a focus on Keegan Bradley’s remarkable journey. Keegan barely made it into last week’s BMW Championship at Castle Rock, entering the tournament ranked 50th—just inside the Top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings. Not only did he secure his spot, but he also went on to win, catapulting himself to 4th place with a real shot at winning the entire championship. Tim Simpson is a legendary ball striker and perhaps the strongest person I’ve ever known. He’s faced multiple back surgeries, Lyme disease, neurological issues caused by Lyme disease, brain surgery, and, most recently, one of the rarest forms of cancer in the world. His father pitched in the Major Leagues, mostly in Pittsburgh from 1951 - 1966 and helped the Pirates win the 1960 World Series. In Part 2 of Episode 39, I am joined by former Blackhawks goalie and current broadcast team member Darren Pang, as well as former Major League infielder/outfielder Kurt Bevacqua.

Darren Pang has become a great friend of the show over the years. He is one of the all-time great hockey broadcasters, I am particularly fond of his work for the NHL Network and during the Winter Olympics. Darren is also an ambassador for Miura Golf. In this segment, Panger shares his insights on the Blackhawks draft and the thrilling Stanley Cup Finals between the Panthers and Oilers. He recounts stories from attending the 1997 Open Championship, which Justin Leonard won at Royal Troon, and his return to play the course in 2005. We also hear about his experience playing Carnoustie, the site of this year's Senior Open, his backyard putting green that rolls at 12.5 on the stimp, and what's in his bag these days.

Kurt Bevacqua played in the Major Leagues from 1971 to 1985 for the Indians, Royals, Pirates, Brewers, Rangers, and Padres. Known as "Dirty Kurt" for always having the dirtiest uniform on the team, he shares a story about meeting his childhood idol, Mickey Mantle, during an old-timers game at Arlington Stadium. He also discusses his complicated times playing in Pittsburgh and his wish for more regular at-bats to showcase his abilities. Kurt talks about his relationship with Willie Stargell and the impact Willie had on his career. Finally, we reflect on his 1984 season in San Diego and what would have been an MVP performance, had the Padres won the Series.

Rob Labritz shares stories from how he got his start as a PGA Professional and dominating the local New York events. We hear about the grind through mini Tours and barely making enough money to live week to week. How he got through Champions Tour qualifying to now playing on the Champions Tour. Rob also talks about his preparation for the US Senior Open, and picking the brains of his peers.

Doug Coors is a member of the Coors Brewing family. He talks about growing up Coors and getting into the family business. We hear when he first got interested in golf and how a chance request to help Edel Golf with their manufacturing process led to him buying the company. Doug also talks about their detailed fitting process and why their new SMS irons are going to take your game to new heights.

In this segment, I'm joined by Chandler Withington, a PGA Professional who worked at some of the best courses in the US like Seminole, Merion, and Hazeltine. He talks about what it was like being at those historic courses and helping to host the Walker Cup, a Ryder Cup, and the Women's PGA Championship. In part 1 of Episode 39, I am joined by two remarkable figures in the golf world: 1991 Open Champion Ian Baker-Finch and 1984 National Champion John Inman.

Finchy and John are among the most wonderful people you could meet in golf. Ian and I delve into his victory at the '91 Open, held at Royal Birkdale. He gives us an inside look at his third round course record 64 (which Jodie Mudd broke the next day). We hear about his eagle on the 17th hole, followed by a birdie on the 18th that tied him with Mark O'Meara going into the final round. We then discuss the five birdies he made in his first seven holes on Sunday, en route to a front nine 29 which put him in control of the tournament. I asked him how he stayed focused in the moment and didn't let himself think ahead to becoming the Champion Golfer of the Year. You'll also hear how his family kept him grounded that week, about his friendship with Mark O'Meara, his close calls in 1984 and 1990, and how those experiences prepared him to win in '91. Ian also shares his thoughts on this year's Open and Xander Schauffele's impressive win.

John Inman was so great earlier this season that I couldn't wait to have him back on the show. We get his thoughts on Xander's big win and discuss why he never played in The Open. Dr. Bill Mallon joins me in this segment. Bill played college golf at Duke and on the PGA Tour from 1975-1979 before going back to school and getting his medical degree. We talk about getting through Q-School and earning his Tour card. We also talk about his 6th place finish in the 1976 Western Open and playing in the 1977 US Open. Bill shares why he left the Tour to go back to medical school to be an Orthopedic surgeon. Plus, I get his insights and expectations for Tiger Woods following Tiger's most recent foot surgery.

Scott McCarron and I talk about his recent performance at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic and we look ahead to the back-to-back majors they have coming up at the Regions Tradition and the Senior PGA Championship. I asked him about the golf ball distance issue since his average driving distance hasn't changed much at age 58 since his days playing on the PGA Tour. We also talked about the potential of Tiger playing on the Champions Tour. He said based on conversations he's had, it looks like Tiger will play several tournaments a year but he goes on to say that their "supposed leader" PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, didn't like it when the Champions Tour ratings beat the PGA Tour's the week Phil played his first Champions Tour event. When I asked why, isn't it all in the family, he said you'll have to ask Jay Monahan that question.

In Part 2 of Episode 37, I am joined by former UCLA two-time All-American and Tour Pro Jay Delsing, as well as US Kids Golf Lifetime Master Teacher James Hong.

Jay kicks things off with an entertaining story about previous guest Mark Calcavecchia. He then shares his experience playing in the 1985 Open Championship at St. Andrews, where he stayed until the dramatic conclusion when Constantino Rocca holed a miracle putt from the Valley of Sin to force a playoff with John Daly, which Daly ultimately won. Jay was also in the group behind Arnold Palmer, who was playing his final Open. He witnessed "The King" wave goodbye to the patrons from the Swilken Bridge and on the 18th green. Jay also shares his pick to win this year's Open and discusses the honor he received from the St. Louis Children's Miracle Network. Jay is wonderfully positive and a joy to talk to. Paul Stankowski is one of my favorite people on the planet. I had the privilege of catching up with Paul at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic and again as he prepares for the Regions Tradition. We go back to 1996 when he became the first player to win in back-to-back weeks on the Nike Tour and then on the PGA Tour at the Bell South Classic. We get inside what it was like for him in an 8-day span to go from being a first-time winner on the Nike Tour to being the 6th alternate for the Bell South Classic, getting into that tournament, winning it, and the next day driving up Magnolia Lane.
