Never Loved Rum in Kids Drinks: Billy No Mates, Katie J Pearson, Death Cab for Cutie, Mogwai, Metallica, Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer and The Hiddens

Edited in the middle of the English Channel, please forgive any inconsistencies - It was difficult to hear what I was doing as Pierre Le Bear was entertaining the children rather loudly.
It shouldn't spoil the over all listening of what is some great, insightful chat from the boys about, but not exclusively: Billy No Mates, Katie J Pearson, Death Cab for Cutie, Mogwai, Metallica and Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer.
Playing us out today we have The Hiddens, an Alternative/Post-Punk band, based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Currently working on their Debut album at The Oven Recording co. With producers Diego Romero and Eduardo Flores. The Hiddens have been growing their fan base with the singles All The Same (release on March 26, 2021), A beautiful evening (October 1st, 2021) and We Need Some Time ( June 10th, 2022).

So the guys finally manage to get in a room together to record another episode (virtual of course). But even the best laid plans can go wrong - so it shouldn't be surprising when poorly laid plans go wrong then. Which is exactly what happened here.
Due to technical issues and back up technical issues - this weeks show might not sound as slick as it usually does. The game has been lost at the end of the episode, however it’s safe to assume they all made fools of themselves. The thing to remember is, that it was all Ian's fault.
But most importantly - The mystery of how Def Leppard made into the NLE Hall of Fame is revealed.
Playing us out this week are Dead Pony - head over to their website to purchase stuff and see when they're touring:

How to be a Rock Star
Would you take career advice from Shaun Ryder? Well he hopes so. In fact he's so confident you will he's written book about it. Find out what Pete thinks about it in this weeks episode, The lads also discuss purchasing vinyl, buying stuff at auctions and the return of Arcade Fire.
There are the usual features as well, with LCD Soundsystem, Levellers, Led Zeppelin and The Lemonheads all nominated for the Never Loved Elvis Hall of Fame... surely (The) Levellers must get in??? Surely???
And of course there's one of Kev's dodgy games at the end.
A truly perfect marriage of knowledge, ignorance and humour.

Unfortunately Pete was ill for this weeks episode, so it's left up to Kev, Ian and Bez to fly the flag for NLE towers. The boys discuss recent gigs they've been to, including Mr Scruff at the Roundhouse Camden, Royal Blood in Bournemouth and Warmduscher at the Boileroom Guildford. They also discuss the untimely death of Taylor Hawkins as well as their mutual love of BBC Radio 6Music. As well as Bez having to deal with a poorly toilet trained guinea pig mid show.
They have reached "K" in the Never Loved Elvis Hall of Fame with potential inductees being The Killers, Kae Tempest, The KLF or Kate Bush.
A truly perfect marriage of knowledge, ignorance and humour.

Todays episode was recorded at the end of January - So the boys discuss bang up to date news like, the death of Meat Loaf and the feud between Neil Young and Spotify that you've probably forgotten about.

And we continue with the Never Loved Elvis hall of Fame - Who will represent "H"' out of The Happy Mondays, PJ Harvey, Hard-Fi and Jimi Hendricks?

Regular as clockwork. The NLE crew are back one again. Kez, Ian, Pete and Bez discuss everything music, from Captain Pugwash to Shania Twain getting attacked by wild boars... and everything in between.
Recorded at the start of October, the boys discuss new (ish) music, they inducted the letter E into the hall of fame - and they fail to remember the name of some music documentaries they like. But despite their slapdash approach - it's actually quite an enjoyable listen.

Welcome one and welcome all to another episode of Never Loved Elvis. It's the return of the Macks! The boys have got the band back together and started recording again for the first time in 10 months. Where does the time go? And please, please, please don't worry - We have kept the inclusion of Mark Morrison chat to a minimum (nothing); but you can expect banter on loads of other better musicians; we induct a new band into the Hall of Fame and discuss what gigs are like post (mid) COVID.

Gigs
20 Nov 2020
00:56:49
In this weeks episode The Four Muska-Beers discuss all things Gigs.
Recorded slap bang in the middle of a pandemic, this episode is tinged with poignancy as the buys discuss how things used to be. What makes a good gig, what makes a bad gig - Is it reasonable to go to the bar when Flava Flav breaks into some solo stuff?
But fear not - the sadness is punctured with great joy* as the boys add a final member to their fantasy band - and play another fantastic ** game of Higher Than the Sun.

In this weeks episode the boys have the unenviable task of thrashing out who should be in the Hall of Fame for the letter P - Without doubt, this has been the most difficult so far - and I implore you not to smash up your smart phone when the artist you think deserves to be put in there doesn't even get a mention. Expect chat about The Police, Pearl Jam, Pixies and The Prodigy.
