Wherever You Are, You Belong With Us02 Nov 202400:25:35

SHOW NOTES:

You might ask, “I see that this is podcast is set to help those who follow Jesus. But how do you follow Jesus when you feel all alone?  How do you follow Jesus as a Native American on your reservation?  How do you follow Jesus as a First Nation disciple on your reserve?  How do you follow Jesus in the city where you could be around hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of people—yet feel all alone? If I feel alone, how can I feel that I belong?” I believe that you can move from feeling alone to feeling that you belong.

In this episode, you will discover how you can start to feel that you belong.

Join us for the next episode when we address how God sees you wherever you are. He sees you not to watch for your missteps to punish you but to watch for you to commune with you--even when your life feels messed up.

Trailer29 Oct 202400:02:13

Are you a Jesus Follower from a Native American Tribe or Band or are you a Jesus Follower from a First Nation? Then, this podcast is for you.

Although, even if you are a Jesus Follower from any other nation or background, then you could still benefit from this podcast.

I will upload episodes every Monday at 6:30am with segments that will seek to understand the unique challenges you face as a follower of Jesus.  There will be bonus episodes where I will interview other Natives who are following Jesus. You will gain perspective from their journey and you will find inspiration to keep following Jesus.

Why this podcast? I find that those who follow Jesus as a Native American or First Nation are from places and spaces from the USA, to CANADA and beyond. Wherever you are, I invite you to join me on this spiritual quest to follow Jesus.

I also believe that frequently Satan wants to discourage those who follow Jesus by telling them lie--like YOU are all alone and no one cares.

But I want you to know. You are NOT alone.  Not only does God see you, but I see you too.  You belong with me in the global Body of Christ as a follower of Jesus. You belong with us!

BONUS Episode--Thanks to you28 Nov 202400:27:09

SHOW NOTES:

You know how to say thanks. But you need to say thanks more.  A simple thank you—especially if it’s sincere and not manipulative—will provide the benefactor with a good vibe.

  • You know people who are struggling financially
  • You know people who lack significant connections with others
  • You know people who are stressed and anxious
  • You know people who feel unhappy
  • You know people who feel sad because the weather is changing
  • You know people who are disappointed that something didn’t work out
  • You know people who are working so many hours and speeding towards burnout
  • You know people who are dealing with trauma from past life experiences
  • You know the world is pushing you to achieve status, beauty, and wild success; but you find no status, struggle with body image, and you feel like a failure
  • You know people who struggle to put food on the table

Such circumstances can lead one to be ungrateful.

But there is another pathway that leads to greater hope!

Say, "Thanks." In this episode, I will share how you can be grateful even when life's outcomes are lacking. When you are not actively grateful, you leave space for discontent to flourish. This can detract from your mental well-being. You start pushing people away. If ingratitude makes you negative, you may put negative vibes into the world. We don't need more bad vibes. We need good vibes! Listen how you can say thanks and bring light into a gloomy world.

LIVE OUT LOVE: Exploring love as the foundation for your faith03 Feb 202500:26:39

SHOW NOTES:

February is often touted as a month of roses, chocolate, and appreciation, but for many, it can be much less colorful. For you, the month of love might be another 28 days of loneliness, and oftentimes grief.

You might feel like your losses become newly refreshed, and an empty house feels more empty. Loneliness and grief share far more connections than many often talk about – including both increasing the risk of substance abuse, decreased immune function, talk of suicide, and depression triggered by dark nights and overcast days.

But you can discover how to move from feeling isolated and move towards being connected to other followers of Jesus. Listen up! You can know that God loves you and you are not alone.

Episode 26 How the Resurrection of Jesus helps you today07 Apr 202500:37:28

SHOW NOTES:

Have you ever received love you did not earn or deserve?

Relationships can be contractual or transactional where you give and the other person gives back. Then, they give and you give back. Subsequently, you give and don't receive anything back so you walk. You move on. Conversely, they give and you don't give back and they ghost you. They leave you.

But I believe a relationship with God is an unconditional love where God has sacrificed all for you so that you can experience genuine love not a love that is a contract where transactions abound.

Discover how God's love in the resurrection of Jesus can empower you to live life differently. How the power of Jesus' resurrection can help you today.

A dead-end is not the end.

My vision for this Podcast is for you to discover who you could be; an appeal to be better yourself, a call to become something more—someone more like Jesus.

In Indigenous communities, vision is scarce. To walk the good road is unclear and seemingly impossible. This episode looks forward with anticipation, inviting you and this community into the next chapter of the journey for the Natives Follow Jesus Podcast while giving thanks to God, the Creator for every story and step so far.

Episode 46: Native Counseling--healing at the crossroads27 Aug 202500:44:43

SHOW NOTES:

Many Native counselors and healers today utilize native practices that seek to connect a person to his/her community and to the earth using natural remedies and traditional songs and chants to bring healing.

Whereas, modern counseling engages the individual, one-on-one counseling and therapy sessions in an austere, clinical environment.   I wonder if a counselor can weave together three powerful strands—faith in Christ, the science of psychology, and Indigenous wisdom to offer a holistic and godly form of help to bring healing to Native Peoples, and to all peoples of the cultures of the world.
