The problem with big tech and data is that they make tons of money off of it (over $500 billion in 2020 alone) and consumers see none of that money… Surf is trying to change that because you will essentially get paid to use the internet. A lot of people don’t even know how your data is used by tech companies or how to protect their data and Surf is not only going to anonymize the data but will also allow consumers to remove their data from the database whenever they choose. The conversation around consumer data ownership is becoming more prevalent and Surf aims to be at the leading edge of the changes in the industry. Will it be the next big startup?
