Last one of series three today and this week I’m chatting with Murkage Dave. Dave’s a musician from East London. I first met Dave when he was putting on dances in Manchester in the early 2000s just before his beard became fully majestic. He’s a total legend of a bloke and if you can go and see him do a live show, then you’ll be in for an absolute treat. He’s always looked a million dollars and I’m excited to hear how clothes have reflected and informed his career to date. What’s happening mates. I’m Thomas Griffin and this is series 3 of My Own Garms. On this week’s ep I’m having a chinwag with Matt Field. This week I’m sitting down with Georgia Smith, She’s one of half of the team behind the Purple Mountain Observatory brand who’ve made some of the most exciting outdoor gear of the past few years. Georgia’s London-based but mad keen on getting outside and the clothing she designs is really reflected in this. She runs bouldering events, classes and workshops for the female outdoor collective GorpGirls and does tons of other ace and interesting stuff. I’m buzzing to chat to her about her love of beautiful, technical design and see how she got to where she is today.This is gonna be the last episode of series 2 but don’t sweat it, we won’t leave ya hanging for too long. Series 3 is in the can and we’ll have the first episode out in a few week’s time when I’ve had a few weeks to go outside and look at some trees or something. This week I’m chatting to the very legendary Danny Fahey. Danny’s the founder of Manchester-based creative agency Thirty Pound Gentlemen who do all kinds of ace things with ace brands. You’ll hear plenty more about it in the episode. He’s got a deep passion for the music and culture that he’s immersed in and has a proper understanding of what an authentic voice is. I’m buzzing to talk to him about his unorthodox journey into the world of garms and hear about the forces that shaped him and his wardrobe.
