Andy Sydow | Singer, Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist & Producer
Andy Sydow is a Colorado singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and podcaster whose music blends Americana, folk, roots rock, and the classic singer-songwriter tradition. Originally from the Denver area, Andy spent an important chapter of his career living and working in Nashville before recently returning home to Colorado. Now based once again in the Denver area, he brings the experiences, relationships, and musical growth gained in Music City back to the Colorado music community where much of his career began.
A versatile musician and storyteller, Sydow has spent more than a decade developing a sound built around thoughtful lyrics, memorable melodies, and musicianship that can move effortlessly from acoustic guitar and lap steel to piano and full-band roots rock. His music has drawn comparisons to artists including Paul Simon, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty, and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
Sydow has toured nationally and internationally and has shared bills with an impressive roster of artists, including John Hiatt, Shane Smith & The Saints, Dawes, Lucero, Brett Dennen, Chuck Prophet, Dick Dale, and Anders Osborne. His songwriting has also earned considerable recognition. He has been a two-time Kerrville New Folk Songwriter Competition finalist and a 2024 Telluride Troubadour Contest finalist, along with receiving recognition in several other songwriting competitions.
A major chapter in Andy's recording career came with his 2024 album Night Skin, produced by acclaimed New Orleans singer-songwriter and guitarist Anders Osborne at Dockside Studio in Louisiana. Osborne also performed on the project alongside percussionist Mike Dillon and bassist Casandra Faulconer. The album helped introduce another side of Sydow's songwriting and musicianship while further establishing him within the independent Americana and roots-music community.
Andy's creativity extends well beyond the traditional singer-songwriter format. After studying orchestration and film composition, he arranged and scored his own material for classical musicians, resulting in the 2023 EP Measure 1: Orchestral Arrangements by Andy Sydow. He's also worked as a producer, helping other artists develop their music while continuing to write, record, and perform his own material.
When he's not making music, Andy also sits on the other side of the microphone as host of the Middle Class Rock Star podcast, where he talks with musicians and music-industry professionals about the realities of building and sustaining a career in music.
Andy joined the lineup of songwriters at the 2026 Grand Mesa Songwriter Festival in Cedaredge, Colorado, bringing his songs and stories to an event built around the craft of songwriting.
For Musical Miles Podcast, Andy's story is about more than the songs. It's about the miles between Colorado and Nashville, the lessons learned along the way, and ultimately finding his way back home to Denver while continuing to build a career as a songwriter, performer, producer, and storyteller.
From intimate songwriter rounds and full-band rock shows to orchestral arrangements, record production, and podcasting, Andy Sydow represents today's independent musician—an artist willing to follow a great song wherever the road leads.

Byron Duffin is the creator and host of the Musical Miles Podcast, but becoming a podcaster was never part of his retirement plan.
After a longtime career as a manufacturing executive, Byron unexpectedly found himself retired and facing a question familiar to a lot of people entering a new chapter of life: “What do I do now?” The answer came from his daughter, Kallie, who suggested that Byron and his wife, Shanda, turn their lifelong love of live music into a podcast.
In July 2024, Musical Miles Podcast was born. Just two weeks later, Byron conducted his first interview with singer-songwriter Heath Clark—whose family band had performed at Byron and Shanda’s wedding reception in 1983. What started almost on a whim quickly became far more than a retirement hobby.
Today, Byron and Shanda travel the country attending songwriter festivals, concerts, Western music gatherings, rodeos and music events, sitting down face-to-face with the people who make the music happen. One principle has remained at the heart of the show from the beginning: the interviews are conducted in person. For Byron, being in the same room with an artist—and often in the places where their music is actually being performed—creates conversations that simply can't be duplicated through a screen.
The show has grown dramatically since that first interview. Apple Podcasts currently lists Byron Duffin as the creator of Musical Miles Podcast and more than 240 episodes, while Buzzsprout identifies Byron as host and Shanda Duffin as co-host.
Along the way, Byron has interviewed everyone from unknown and emerging independent artists to award-winning performers and Hall of Fame-caliber songwriters. But the mission has remained the same: give artists a place to tell their stories, preserve the stories behind the songs, introduce listeners to new music, and celebrate the venues, festivals and fans that keep live music alive.
For Byron, retirement didn't mean slowing down. It meant discovering an entirely different road.
The microphone, camera equipment, editing, social media, YouTube, websites, travel schedules and endless hours required to build a podcast were things he had to learn along the way. And that's become part of his story too—the lessons, mistakes, surprises and opportunities that come from starting over at an age when you're supposedly supposed to be winding down.
What began with the question “What am I going to do in retirement?” has turned into thousands of miles traveled, hundreds of conversations and an unexpected second act built around something Byron and Shanda have loved their entire lives: music and the people behind it.
Real Roads. Real Songs. Real Stories.
That's Musical Miles—and for Byron Duffin, it's proof that retirement doesn't have to be the end of the story. It can be the beginning of the best chapter yet.

Deb Scheer is a Colorado singer-songwriter whose music reflects a lifetime of influences ranging from folk and Americana to country, jazz, and musical theater. Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Deb has called Colorado home since 1984, bringing both her East Coast beginnings and Western experiences into her songwriting.
Music has been part of Deb's life since her teenage years. She began singing and playing in high school, even starting a country band during her senior year. Her passion for music continued into college, where she began writing her own songs and ultimately earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from SUNY Oswego.
Like many songwriters, Deb's musical journey didn't follow a straight line. She stepped away from performing and songwriting for a period to raise her family, but the desire to create music never disappeared. Eventually she returned to writing and performing with a renewed perspective, spending recent years learning from and working with accomplished songwriting mentors in Nashville.
That commitment to developing her craft earned Deb recognition in 2024 when she was selected as a Bronze Scholar in the inaugural John Cirillo Songwriting Scholarship program, an organization created to support and encourage songwriters through education, mentorship and community.
Deb has also become part of Colorado's growing songwriter community. She appeared at the Grand Mesa Songwriter Festival in both 2025 and 2026, joining accomplished writers for intimate performances built around original songs and the stories behind them.
Musical Miles Podcast caught up with Deb at the 2026 Grand Mesa Songwriter Festival, where we had the opportunity to talk about her music, songwriting journey and what it means to return to a creative passion after putting it aside to raise a family.
Deb Scheer's story is a great reminder that there is no expiration date on chasing a dream. Sometimes the miles between where you started and where you ultimately arrive are exactly what give you the stories worth turning into songs.
Real Roads – Real Songs – Real Stories.

Raised on the prairies of the Nebraska Panhandle and now based in the Denver area, Gilmore has built a career around preserving traditional roots music while creating original songs for a new generation.
And the accolades are impressive. Martin won the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Competition in 2024, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase in 2024, and was a 2025 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk winner. He was also nominated for the 2025 IBMA Momentum Award for Mentor of the Year.

Havilah Rand is an award-winning singer-songwriter, performer, and educator whose career has taken her from the jazz halls of New York City and the post-grunge music scene of Seattle to Austin's legendary songwriter community and stages throughout the United States and Europe. Her music moves comfortably between Americana, folk, blues, jazz, and country, driven by thoughtful lyrics, soulful vocals, and a lifelong commitment to storytelling.
Havilah's relationship with songwriting began remarkably early. She started composing songs around the age of six on an old piano given to her family and grew up listening to artists including James Taylor, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, The Rolling Stones, and The Police. Her talent eventually led her to study at Interlochen Arts Academy and the Manhattan School of Music, where she received formal training in jazz and classical vocal technique.
After leaving New York, Havilah headed west to Seattle, where she fronted the pop-rock band Wish before picking up the guitar and pursuing a solo career. She recorded her first three albums in the Pacific Northwest and spent more than a decade touring regionally and nationally. Her musical journey later carried her to Europe, including Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Mediterranean, before she relocated to Austin, Texas, in 2007. She is now based in Bellingham, Washington.
Over the course of her career, Havilah has released five full-length albums, with songwriting that combines poetic lyricism with groove-oriented Americana. Her catalog includes Superfarmhouse, Bengalese Butterflies and A High Wave, along with more recent releases including "Walk With Me," "Come Back to the Living," and "Catherine." A sixth full-length project, Mountains, is slated for release in late 2026.
But Havilah's work reaches well beyond the stage. She is a National Board Certified Teacher with a master's degree in teaching and the founder of Holistic ArtVentures, which uses songwriting to encourage creativity, empathy, collaboration, and confidence. Through her songwriting programs and LifeSong Project, she has worked with hundreds of children and elders, helping people transform their own experiences and stories into songs. Her work has also earned her a nomination for the Esme Barrera Music in Education and Activism Award.
In June 2026, Havilah brought those worlds together in Colorado, leading a Young Songwriter Summer Camp connected with the Grand Mesa Songwriter Festival. Young participants learned lyric and melody writing and were given the opportunity to perform during the festival's opening concert.
Musical Miles Podcast met up with Havilah Rand at the 2026 Grand Mesa Songwriter Festival in Cedaredge, Colorado, where we had the opportunity to hear more about the life, music, travels, and experiences behind the songs. She's an artist whose story demonstrates that songwriting can be much more than entertainment—it can be a way of connecting generations, preserving stories, and helping others discover their own voice.

Braxton Hamblen is a Northern Colorado singer-songwriter whose music is firmly rooted in the Western way of life, blending influences from Red Dirt country, cowboy music, and indie folk. Raised around agriculture, horses, and small-town life, Braxton doesn't simply write about the cowboy lifestyle—he lives it, spending time team roping and helping his family train horses when he's not making music.
Braxton picked up the guitar at an early age and began developing his own songs while still young. Influenced by artists such as Turnpike Troubadours, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Stoney LaRue, he's developed a sound built around honest songwriting, Western storytelling, and experiences drawn from his own life.
His growing catalog includes his 2024 album Broken Boys Dream, along with songs including "Cowboy Dreams," "Mexican Pony," "Shit Colts," "Watch Me Pack," and "Work in Progress." His music reflects a young artist carrying the traditions of the West forward while putting his own stamp on the independent country and Red Dirt scene.
Musical Miles Podcast caught up with Braxton during Dusty Vaquero Days in Gillette, Wyoming, for an informal conversation in the green room. Away from the stage and without the formality of a traditional sit-down interview, Braxton joined us for a relaxed chat about his music, his cowboy roots, songwriting, and the experiences shaping his journey as an artist.
Braxton Hamblen represents exactly the kind of artist we love discovering on the road—a working cowboy, songwriter, musician, and storyteller whose songs come from a life genuinely lived.

Jimmy Cantwell is a Colorado-based singer-songwriter and second-generation horseman whose music is rooted in the real-life experiences of the American West. A soldier, horse trainer, working cowboy and storyteller, Cantwell has spent years gathering the kind of experiences that can’t be manufactured—and he has turned those miles, horses, hard work and lessons learned into authentic country and Western songs.
Cantwell has ridden colts, trained horses for both the public and the U.S. Army, and picked up cowboy day work along the way. That background gives his songwriting an unmistakable authenticity. Rather than simply singing about Western life, Cantwell writes from a life he has actually lived. His music moves comfortably between traditional country, Western music and the storytelling traditions that have long connected cowboys through song.
His talent has also earned recognition within the Western music community. Cantwell took first place in the 2024 IWMA Colorado Chapter Talent Round-Up, further establishing himself among a new generation of performers carrying Western music forward.
In 2026, Cantwell made his debut at the prestigious 41st National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, presented by the Western Folklife Center. There he performed alongside artists including Brigid & Johnny Reedy and Dakota Holdaway, sharing original songs such as “Maybe Someday,” “Worlds Collide,” “Fiddlers Lament,” “Sleepless, Thoughtful, Nights,” “Cowboy Till I Die,” and “Cicada Song.”
That Elko appearance helped introduce Cantwell to an even wider Western audience, with his thoughtful songwriting and musicianship drawing attention as part of the next generation of Western performers.
Cantwell continues to write, record and perform, including the 2026 release “Tonight’s The Night I Start Drinking” on Cloverdale Records.
At his core, Jimmy Cantwell represents what makes Western music endure: real experiences turned into real songs. Whether the story comes from horseback, military service, a day’s cowboy work or another stretch of road, Cantwell delivers it without pretense. As his National Cowboy Poetry Gathering biography puts it, at the end of the day he’s simply a “good ol’ cowboy singer.”

Brady Stovall is a singer-songwriter bringing an authentic, lived-in voice to the modern Western music scene. Hailing from California’s San Joaquin Valley, Stovall didn’t grow up in the cowboy lifestyle—but once he found it, he dove in headfirst. Today, the experiences he’s collected working with horses, packing mules through the Sierra Nevada and playing late-night stages have become the foundation for his songwriting.
Stovall’s music is rooted in traditional country and cowboy storytelling, drawing inspiration from old cowboy ballads, pack-string trails, working ranches and the characters encountered along the way. Rather than simply singing about Western life from a distance, Stovall has lived much of what finds its way into his songs—from packing mules in the Sierras to riding broncs in California’s San Joaquin Valley. That firsthand experience gives his songwriting an honesty and grit that feels increasingly rare in modern country music.
His sound combines the storytelling tradition of classic country with a raw, contemporary approach. Songs such as “Headin’ Out Showin’” showcase that connection between working Western culture and original country music.
Stovall is also gaining recognition beyond his home territory. He is part of the lineup for the 42nd National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, one of the premier gatherings celebrating cowboy poetry, music and Western culture.
Whether he’s horseback in the mountains, riding Ranch Broncs or standing behind a microphone with a guitar, Brady Stovall represents a new generation carrying traditional Western storytelling forward—writing songs about the people, places and experiences that continue to define life in the America

Matt Robertson is the genuine article—a working cowboy, horseman and award-winning Western singer-songwriter whose music is drawn from a life spent horseback. Raised in Wheatland, Wyoming, Robertson grew up starting colts as a young teenager and riding broncs before traveling throughout the American West and Canada cowboying and training horses. Today, he and his wife Paige make their home in Prescott, Arizona, where he continues training horses and writing songs.
Robertson began playing and writing music around the age of 16, finding inspiration in legendary Western artists Ian Tyson and Chris LeDoux. Rather than simply writing songs about cowboy culture, Robertson writes from firsthand experience. Horses, bronc riding, ranch work, rodeo, wide-open country and the people who make their living in the West provide the stories behind his music.
Over more than two decades as a songwriter and performer, Robertson has built an impressive catalog of original Western music. His albums include Makin' History, Just Cowboyin', Bronc Star, Bronc Scholar, The Dusty Ones, Arizona, and his 2026 release, Too Pretty for the Wagon. Songs including “Just Cowboyin’,” “Day Workin’ Cowboy,” “Makin’ History,” “Bronc Star,” and “Arizona” have helped establish him as a distinctive contemporary voice in cowboy music.
His work earned major recognition from the Academy of Western Artists when Robertson received three honors for his 2024 work: Western/Cowboy Male Vocalist, Arizona was named Western/Cowboy Album, and “The Letter” was selected as Western/Cowboy Song.
Robertson has also taken his music to some of the most respected stages and gatherings celebrating Western culture. He has appeared as a featured artist at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, performed at the Lone Star Cowboy Poetry Gathering, Dusty Vaquero Days and numerous events throughout the Mountain West.
What separates Matt Robertson from many performers is simple: the cowboy in his songs isn't a character. It's his life. Whether he's singing about a good horse, a hard day's work, bronc riders, ranch families or the disappearing traditions of the West, Robertson brings an authenticity that can only come from someone who has actually lived the stories he's telling.
Matt Robertson isn't just keeping cowboy music alive—he's documenting the modern American West one song, one horse and one story at a time.

Trinity Seely is an award-winning Western singer-songwriter, horsewoman and storyteller whose music comes directly from a life lived in the saddle. Raised in the rugged Chilcotin region of British Columbia, Seely grew up working on her family’s guest ranch before her journey carried her across the American West, including cattle ranches in Wyoming, Nebraska and Montana. Those experiences became the foundation for songs that capture the realities of ranch life, horses, family, cowboys and the enduring traditions of the West.
Seely released her self-titled debut album in 2011, followed by Old Poly Rope in 2013, Cowboy’s Wage in 2015, Camp to Camp in 2018 and her latest full-length album, Lessons I’ve Learned, in 2024. Her songwriting blends traditional Western music, folk and country with something that can’t be manufactured — firsthand experience.
Her work has also earned significant recognition within the Western music community. Seely was named one of True West magazine’s favorite Western artists of 2012 and received multiple Western Music Association and Academy of Western Artists nominations. Her song “Cowboy Hat” earned the Western Music Association’s 2014 Song of the Year honor.
Another career highlight came with “The Hand,” co-written with legendary cowboy poet Waddie Mitchell. The song earned the Western Writers of America Spur Award for Best Song in 2016. Her album Cowboy’s Wage was also archived in the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, further recognizing Seely's contribution to preserving the musical traditions and stories of the American West.
Seely has appeared at some of Western culture’s best-known gatherings, including the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, the Heber City Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival, the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering and the Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering. Her music has even taken her internationally, including performances in Germany where she shared the stories and traditions of Western ranch life.
Today, Trinity serves as Director of the Horse Department at The Thacher School in Ojai, California, the same school she attended as a teenager. There she combines another lifelong passion — horses — with mentoring young people. The role continues a remarkable journey that has always revolved around horses, family, ranching and music.
At the heart of Trinity Seely’s music is authenticity. She isn't simply singing about Western life from a distance — she has lived it. From British Columbia to ranch country across the American West, her songs preserve the perspective of the cowgirl, ranch wife, mother and horsewoman while carrying those stories forward for another generation.
Trinity Seely represents Western music at its most genuine: real horses, real ranches, real experiences and songs written from a life lived beneath a Western sky.

Ryan Klein has built a career in independent country music by understanding the business from both sides of the stage. A songwriter, musician, artist manager, and promoter, Klein has been closely connected with The Lowdown Drifters, first as a guitarist and songwriter and later helping guide the band's career through Gold Towne Music. His songwriting credits include “Give Up On the Dream,” recorded by The Lowdown Drifters with Dalton Domino, as well as “The Ballad of the Reef Shadow.”
As the owner of Gold Towne Music, Klein has expanded his role from making music to developing and managing artists. His management work includes The Lowdown Drifters and singer-songwriter Kellen Smith, giving him firsthand experience in the challenges of building careers in today's independent country and Americana landscape.
Klein is also one of the driving forces behind Dusty Vaquero Days in Gillette, Wyoming. Working alongside cowboy, filmmaker, and Dusty Vaquero founder J.B. Zielke, Klein helped create a festival centered on artists with genuine connections to ranching, agriculture, Western culture, and the cowboy way of life. The event brings together regional and national performers while keeping authentic storytelling and independent music at its core.
Ryan Klein represents the increasingly important independent side of the music industry—someone who has written the songs, played the shows, traveled the miles, managed the artists, and helped create the stages for others to perform on. His perspective offers a unique look behind the curtain at what it really takes to build an artist's career, promote live music, and keep authentic country and Western music moving forward.

Richard Inman is a Canadian country and folk singer-songwriter whose deep baritone voice, understated guitar work, and unvarnished storytelling have earned him a devoted following throughout Canada and beyond. Raised in southeastern Manitoba and shaped by time spent on the Canadian prairies, Inman writes songs about ordinary people, hard miles, heartache, home, and the landscapes that surround them.
Country music was part of Inman’s life from an early age. He grew up hearing artists such as Johnny Cash and George Jones, eventually beginning to write his own songs as a teenager. Those traditional influences remain evident in a style that favors honest lyrics and memorable stories over polished trends.
Inman has built his reputation the old-fashioned way: one song, one stage and thousands of miles at a time. His touring has taken him from intimate prairie bars to festivals and international performances in countries including Denmark and Germany. His years of relentless touring and a residency at Winnipeg's celebrated Times Change(d) High & Lonesome Club helped establish him as an important voice in the Canadian country and roots scene.
His catalog includes releases such as 30 Days, Richard Inman, Hasta La Vista, Come Back Through, Inman, and more recent songs including “Lethbridge County Blue,” “Gone,” and 2025's “Hell Of A Daydream.” His 2022 album Come Back Through was recorded in Manitoba and Alberta, with Inman handling vocals, acoustic guitar and drums and co-producing the project with Kevin Peters.
What makes Richard Inman especially suited for the Musical Miles Podcast is the authenticity behind the music. He's a road-tested troubadour whose songs feel lived rather than manufactured—music rooted in country tradition, prairie life and the experiences of the people he's encountered along the way.
In this episode, Byron Duffin sits down with Richard Inman for a conversation about songwriting, life on the road, the experiences behind his music, and the kind of authentic country storytelling that continues to connect with listeners on both sides of the Canadian border.
Richard Inman doesn't just sing country songs—he tells the stories of the people and places encountered along the road.

Hailing from Cleveland, Texas, Aaron is a singer-songwriter whose authentic blend of Texas country, folk, and Americana is rooted in hard work, real experiences, and timeless storytelling. His weathered voice, intricate finger-picked guitar style, and deeply personal lyrics have earned him a growing reputation as one of the most compelling independent artists on the Texas music scene.
Before dedicating himself fully to music, Aaron served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter aircraft mechanic. Today, when he's not writing songs or touring, he works as a horseshoer, and has competed in the Texas amateur rodeo circuit as a saddle bronc rider—experiences that give his songs a level of authenticity few artists can match. His music reflects the grit, sacrifice, and beauty of rural America, drawing inspiration from legends like Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Doc Watson, Willie Nelson, and Justin Townes Earle.
Over the years, Zach has released four studio albums while building a loyal following through relentless touring and unforgettable live performances. Ross Cooper is a West Texas-born singer-songwriter, storyteller, and second-generation rodeo cowboy whose music bridges authentic cowboy culture with Texas country, Americana, and the songwriting traditions of the Lone Star State. Raised around Lubbock, Cooper grew up balancing a love of horses with a love of songs, eventually earning a college rodeo scholarship and competing in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) before trading the rodeo arena for a life devoted to music.
Influenced by legendary Texas storytellers including Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen, and Joe Ely, Cooper developed a songwriting style rooted in real experiences—the road, relationships, family, West Texas, and the cowboy life he actually lived. After moving to Nashville, he established himself not only as a recording and touring artist but as a respected songwriter whose songs have been recorded by artists including Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, and William Clark Green.
Albums including I Rode the Wild Horses, Chasing Old Highs, and Lightning Heart have showcased Cooper's ability to combine traditional Western imagery with contemporary country and Americana storytelling. More recently, he released Live From Hotel Turkey, capturing his songs in an intimate setting at the historic Hotel Turkey in Turkey, Texas—a place that has become closely connected to his music.
At the heart of Ross Cooper's music is something increasingly rare: authenticity. He isn't simply writing songs about cowboys from the outside—he's writing about a world he knows firsthand. His music carries the grit of the rodeo, the wide-open landscape of West Texas, and the emotional honesty of a songwriter determined to tell stories that mean something.

Born and raised in the mountains of central Idaho, Cody Braun is one of the driving forces behind the GRAMMY Award-winning Americana and Red Dirt powerhouse Reckless Kelly. Alongside his younger brother, Willy Braun, Cody helped form the band in 1996 before relocating to Austin, Texas, where Reckless Kelly would become one of the most influential independent bands in Americana, Texas Country, and Red Dirt music.
Long before Reckless Kelly, Cody was immersed in music as a member of Muzzie Braun & the Boys, performing with his father, legendary Idaho musician Muzzie Braun. Growing up touring throughout the West instilled a deep appreciation for authentic songwriting, exceptional musicianship, and the independent spirit that continues to define Reckless Kelly today.
A gifted multi-instrumentalist, Cody's signature fiddle playing has become one of the band's defining sounds. In addition to fiddle, he contributes mandolin, harmonica, guitar, and harmony vocals, helping create the unmistakable blend of country, rock, folk, and Americana that has earned Reckless Kelly a fiercely loyal fanbase for nearly three decades.
Reckless Kelly's career has been built almost entirely on their own terms. Rather than chasing the Nashville mainstream, the band forged an independent path that has resulted in 17 studio albums, countless sold-out shows, and a reputation as one of the finest live bands in American roots music. Their accolades include:
GRAMMY Award winners 2024 Ameripolitan Outlaw Group of the Year 2025 Texas Music Chart Awards – Entertainer of the Year Multiple Texas radio No. 1 singles, including "Keep Lookin' Down the Road" and "What's Left of My Heart" from their acclaimed 2024 album The Last Frontier.
Beyond the stage, Cody remains deeply connected to his Idaho roots through the legendary Braun Brothers Reunion, the annual music festival in Challis, Idaho, that has become one of the most respected Americana and Red Dirt festivals in the country. Now celebrating more than four decades, the event brings world-class musicians back to the Braun family's hometown while raising significant funds for the local community.
In 2025, Reckless Kelly announced they would step back from full-time touring after nearly 30 years on the road. While the relentless touring schedule is slowing, Cody and the band continue writing, recording new music, and performing select special events, ensuring the Reckless Kelly legacy will continue for years to come.
Whether he's delivering a soaring fiddle solo, sharing stories from decades on the road, or helping preserve one of America's great independent music traditions, Cody Braun represents everything fans love about authentic Americana music—honest songs, unmatched musicianship, and an unwavering commitment to doing things their own way.

Among the band's many accomplishments are a Grammy Award, 2024 Ameripolitan Outlaw Group of the Year, and 2025 Texas Music Chart Awards Entertainer of the Year, cementing Reckless Kelly's place as one of the most influential independent bands of the past three decades.
Beyond recording and touring, Willy remains deeply connected to his Idaho roots through the Braun Brothers Reunion, one of the country's longest-running Americana and country music festivals. Founded by the Braun family more than four decades ago, the annual event in Challis, Idaho has become a beloved gathering that celebrates independent music while giving back to the local community.
Known for his thoughtful songwriting, authenticity, and fiercely independent spirit, Willy Braun continues to be one of Americana's most respected voices. Whether writing deeply personal stories or delivering high-energy performances with Reckless Kelly, his music reflects a lifetime spent honoring tradition while pushing the genre forward. Country music artist Eli Mosley has built his career on authenticity, grit, and a genuine connection to the western way of life. Born and raised in Central Florida, Mosley wears more than one hat—he's a singer-songwriter, United States Marine veteran, and working cattle ranch manager. Rather than simply singing about country life, he lives it every day, and those real-life experiences shape the stories found throughout his music.
Inspired as a child after seeing Tracy Byrd perform live, Mosley pursued music while remaining deeply rooted in the values of hard work, faith, and family. After serving in the Marine Corps, he began recording in Nashville, producing multiple studio albums at legendary studios including Ocean Way, Sound Emporium, and Studio West. His blend of traditional country storytelling with modern production has earned him a growing national audience.
Mosley's original music has received national radio airplay and streaming success. His patriotic ballad "Soldier's Wife" has surpassed 140,000 streams, while his single "Doin' Alright" reached No. 77 on the MusicRow CountryBreakout Chart, marking an important milestone for the independent artist.
A relentless touring performer, Eli has shared the stage with country favorites including Tracy Byrd, Tracy Lawrence, Joe Nichols, Tyler Farr, Jana Kramer, Parmalee, Jake Owen, and Maren Morris. His live shows combine high-energy country music with the authenticity of someone who spends as much time working cattle as he does performing under stage lights.
As a songwriter, Mosley collaborates with some of Nashville's most respected writers, including Steve Dean ("Watching You" – Rodney Atkins) and Frank Myers, whose catalog includes classics like "I Swear," "I'm Already There," and "My Front Porch Looking In." These collaborations have helped sharpen Mosley's songwriting while allowing him to maintain his unmistakable voice and perspective.
Whether he's touring the country with his band, writing songs in Nashville, or managing a Florida cattle ranch, Eli Mosley represents the modern cowboy—grounded, hardworking, and committed to preserving the traditions of country music while carving out his own path. His music resonates with fans who appreciate honest storytelling, patriotic values, and songs that reflect the everyday lives of hardworking Americans.

Few artists can claim a musical heritage as deep as Matt Axton. As the son of legendary singer-songwriter and actor Hoyt Axton and the grandson of Mae Boren Axton—the celebrated songwriter who co-wrote Elvis Presley's first No. 1 hit, "Heartbreak Hotel," and became known as the "Queen Mother of Nashville"—Matt was born into one of America's most influential songwriting families.
Growing up in Lake Tahoe, Matt spent much of his childhood on tour buses, backstage at concerts, and surrounded by some of the greatest musicians and storytellers of their generation. Music wasn't simply a career in the Axton household—it was a way of life. Those experiences helped shape Matt into an accomplished singer-songwriter whose music blends Americana, country, roots rock, blues, and soul while honoring his family's extraordinary legacy without living in its shadow.
Today, Matt has carved out an identity all his own. A prolific songwriter with more than 300 original songs, he has earned a reputation as an engaging performer whose concerts mix powerful storytelling, heartfelt songwriting, humor, and exceptional musicianship. His music reflects the influence of the American West while embracing the timeless traditions of folk, country, and rock 'n' roll.
Throughout his career, Matt has recorded with acclaimed musicians including Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers) and Hal Cragin, collaborated on tribute projects such as Abbey Road Reimagined, and shared stages with artists including Midland, Paul Cauthen, Jim Lauderdale, and Nikki Lane. His performances have taken him to major festivals, historic venues, and listening rooms across the United States, where audiences quickly discover that while the Axton name opens the door, Matt's talent keeps people coming back.
The Axton family legacy is woven into the fabric of American music. Matt's grandmother, Mae Boren Axton, helped launch Elvis Presley's career with "Heartbreak Hotel," while his father, Hoyt Axton, wrote enduring classics including "Joy to the World," "Never Been to Spain," "The Pusher," "Greenback Dollar," and "The No No Song," songs that became hits for artists such as Three Dog Night, Steppenwolf, The Kingston Trio, Elvis Presley, and Ringo Starr.
On this episode of the Musical Miles Podcast, Byron Duffin sits down with Matt Axton to explore one of country music's most remarkable family legacies. Matt shares stories of growing up with his legendary father, the influence of his grandmother's groundbreaking career in Nashville, life on the road, the responsibility of carrying an iconic family name, and how he has forged his own path as one of today's most authentic Americana troubadours. It's an unforgettable conversation about family, songwriting, legacy, and the enduring power of great music.

Raised in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, Kaden Minor is part of a new generation of Western artists dedicated to preserving the authentic stories, values, and traditions of the American West. A singer-songwriter, horseman, and working cowboy, Kaden writes and performs songs inspired by the people who make their living from the land, drawing from his own experiences on ranches and in the saddle.
Influenced by legendary Western artists such as Ian Tyson, Brenn Hill, and Chris LeDoux, Kaden's music reflects the grit, honesty, and independence that define ranch life. His songwriting paints vivid pictures of the challenges and rewards of life in the West, earning him recognition at cowboy poetry gatherings, Western music festivals, and ranch-country stages throughout the region.
Unlike many artists who sing about cowboy life from afar, Kaden lives it every day. He and his wife, Lindsay, call the Circle H Ranch in Woodruff, Utah home, where ranch work and horsemanship continue to shape the stories behind his songs. His firsthand experience breaking horses and working cattle gives his music a level of authenticity that resonates deeply with audiences who appreciate real Western culture.
Whether he's performing an original song about ranch life, sharing stories from the trail, or keeping the spirit of the cowboy alive through music, Kaden Minor represents the future of Western music while honoring its rich traditions. For him, the dream was never fame—it was living the cowboy life he always imagined and sharing those experiences through song.
