Jim Salvucci
President, Guidance for Greatness Move from Challenge to Change Author, speaker, coach, consultant
My inspiration flows from the conviction that sound values drive the best leaders to develop the lifelong habits of effective leadership, emboldening them to meet the challenges of changing circumstances.
I provide tools to values-driven leaders and emerging leaders at every level. Together we put values to work and increase personal, professional, and organizational effectiveness. Individuals and organizations in virtually every field seek me out for my insights into how mission can drive people and institutions forward. I help leaders and emerging leaders looking for the self-awareness to clarify their mission and enhance their communication and leadership practices.
My thirty years in higher ed as an English professor and as an academic administrator combined with service on a variety of nonprofit and community boards has informed my distinctive philosophy of leadership and management that cuts through the BS. There is no one approach to leadership, but the self-aware individual can apply some key tools and paradigms to assure that the focus is on mission because managers and employees are functioning well.
I hold a Ph.D. from The University of Toronto, an M.A. from Queens College/CUNY, and an A.B. from Bard College--all in English. I also have completed the Institute for Management and Leadership at Harvard University.
In addition I am a certified Tiny Habit coach (www.tinyhabits.com) as well as a certified life coach.
