| Episode 185: Me Problem Mom Me | 09 Jul 2020 | 01:20:21 | |
Hello Hunks! This week we're talking about S12E06 - Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox, a spectacular episode about a demon killing hunters at a hunter funeral. We've got new hunters to hang out with, and they all have dumb ass names like Randy Bull and Elvis. We've got some MOM DRAMA because of course we do. We've got cool demon kills, nice cinematography, BILLIE, JODI...it's one hell of an episode. Unfortunately, somehow Chris and I BOTH recorded with the wrong mics this week. Chris sounds ok, since I was able to use a different track for him, although occasionally he robots out in a flashback to S1 and S2 of MOTW. I sound like I'm 25' away from the mic I'm using for some reason. It's super annoying, and I tried to fix it up as best I could. Luckily it's consistent, so once you get used to it there won't be any dramatic shifts. Monster of the Week is on Patreon! Here's a treat for ya, hunks. This week Chris and I are interviewing Lynn Zubernis, whom you may know as @FangasmSPN on Twitter, or from her series of books about Supernatural and the fandom around it. Lynn has a new book coming out soon, called There’ll Be Peace When You Are Done: Actors and Fans Celebrate the Legacy of Supernatural. It's a collection of essays from the cast and fans of Supernatural, including stories from Jensen Ackles, Jared Padelacki, Misha Collins, and many more. Chris and I were given early copies to read through before we recorded, and it's a really great send off to a show that we've all spent so much time watching and talking about throught the years. Heya hunks, this week we take a trip down wrestling lane and talk about S11E14 - Beyond the Mat. It's revealed that Sam and Dean are amatuer wrestling superfans, and John took them to a bunch of shows in their youth. So when a wrestler dies from totally normal circumstances, the boys crash the funeral to meet their (now broken) heroes and eat some good funeral food. Turns out: there's a ghost wrestler! No, but wouldn't have been cool? It's actuall a skeleton wrestler! Nope, that would have also been too cool. It's just a demon. Boring. Monster of the Week is on Patreon!
