| The Villain, The Victim, And The Hero: How This Dynamic Is Playing Out In Your Parenting And Life | 18 Jun 2025 | 00:28:48 | |
There’s a powerful dynamic playing out in so many homes that quietly shapes how we show up as moms, partners, and women. It’s a pattern of falling into emotional roles—like the villain, the victim, or the hero—especially in parenting, marriage, and family relationships.
Maybe you’re always rescuing your kids from discomfort. Or maybe you’re carrying the invisible weight of your whole family and feeling quietly resentful.
In this episode, I’m diving into the psychology behind these emotional roles, how they show up in motherhood, and why high-achieving women often get stuck in this cycle. You’ll learn how these patterns create disconnection and parenting triggers—and how to step out of them to become the calm, empowered leader your family actually needs.
If you’ve ever struggled with mom guilt, resentment, or trying to “fix” everything—this episode will shift everything.

| How To Raise A Child To Have A Growth Mindset | 05 Jul 2023 | 00:27:52 | |
Having a growth mindset allows kids to overcome challenges, failures, and mistakes, while maintaining self-confidence and self-love. Additionally, a growth mindset helps kids set, pursue, and achieve their biggest dreams.
A growth mindset isn't something that's a given because of it's counterpart, the fixed mindset. A fixed mindset limits kids from believing in themselves by attributing their shortcomings or failures to "just the way they are." With a fixed mindset, kids stay stuck and limit themselves.
In this podcast, Natalie Bacon shares five key practical strategies that you can start using with your kids today to help them have a growth mindset.

| What You Can't Control | 07 Jun 2023 | 00:26:25 | |
There is so much within your control that you can focus on to help you navigate challenges and live your best life. Yet, because of how the brain works, much of what you may find yourself focusing on is out of your control. Examples include what other people think, how other people act, what's happening in your neighborhood, and more. While you can influence these things, you can't control them.
So, the question becomes, how can you focus back on what you can control so you can show up as your best self in your life? That is what you'll learn in this podcast episode, with real life examples to help you see how to apply this tool to your own life.

| Escapism Vs. Self Care | 24 May 2023 | 00:23:55 | |
Self care for moms can seem like an oxymoron with the everyday demands of modern motherhood combined with any additional challenges of the current season.
This is why it's so common to want an escape from life to feel rejuvinated. The problem isn't the escape as much as it is what happens when you come back to the same life that created the need for the escape in the first place.
In this episode, you'll learn alternative ways to approaching self care as a mom with a full (and seemingly very busy) life so you need fewer escapes and can "fill your own cup" (as the saying goes) from the inside out.
You'll discover how rethinking self care during this season of life is imperative to your own happiness and well-being.

| Who's To Blame? | 17 May 2023 | 00:27:27 | |
When life throws a curve ball and there's a new challenge you're presented with, how do you handle it? If you're like me and most of my clients, the tendency is to look for someone to blame—blame towards someone else, blame towards the world, or blame towards yourself.
While, yes, it's true that people need to be held accountable for their actions, we often take this too far, looking for someone to take responsibility for our feelings. We blame other people and the world for how we feel. When we can separate out other people's actions from our feelings, we become empowered.
Sometimes, there's isn't someone to blame at all. It's just the way things go. Getting to a place of acceptance can be very powerful for working through challenges with in-laws, in marriage, and more.
In this episode, you'll learn the down side of blame and what to do instead so that you can feel better and work through hard times.

| Who Do You Want To Be In Your Circumstances? | 19 Apr 2023 | 00:32:04 | |
Often, we can't choose our circumstances. Whether it's a health diagnosis, in-law dynamics, struggles our kids are experiencing, or something else, life often deals a hand that you wouldn't choose for yourself. Sometimes, life is just hard.
On default, the human brain wants to look externally to solve these challenges by changing other people or what's happening in the world. It goes into "fix it" mode. The problem with this is that it often leaves you feeling miserable and it doesn't work.
We can't control what other people say or do, much like we can't control the weather. We can, however, control who want we to be in any circumstance, even the hardest of them.
Training your brain to look inward at "who you want to be" in a challenging circumstances is the most useful way to navigate life's hardest times. In this episode, you'll learn the skills to do just that, so you can show up as the empowered woman you want to be.

In this episode, I share my own experience with anger, frustration, and mom tantrums in a way that shows just help helpful bringing awareness to these tantrums can be both for ourselves and for our families.

| I Don’t Punish My Kids. Here’s Why. | 12 Mar 2025 | 00:33:55 | |
Most of us grew up thinking that discipline means punishment. You do something wrong, you get punished—it’s just what parents do, right? But what if I told you that punishment doesn’t actually teach the lessons we want our kids to learn?
In today’s episode, I’m walking you through a real-life example from a mom who faced this exact dilemma. After getting a call from school about her son breaking something on the bus, her first instinct was to take away his iPad. But then she paused and asked herself… Does this even make sense?
We’re unpacking why punishment creates fear instead of learning, the real reason behind problem behaviors (hint: it’s all about emotional regulation skills), and what to do instead to actually help your child grow. If you’ve ever questioned whether time-outs, taking things away, or other punishments really work, this episode is for you.

| How To Stop Overthinking As A Mom | 05 Mar 2025 | 00:29:32 | |
Overthinking can feel like a never-ending loop, draining your energy and stealing the joy from motherhood.
But here’s the truth: your brain isn’t working against you—it’s wired for survival. The problem is, in modern motherhood, that survival wiring often shows up as worry, perfectionism, and self-doubt.
In today’s episode, I'm diving deep into why your brain overthinks, how negative thought patterns take hold, and the real symptoms that show up in your daily life—like decision fatigue, anxiety, and feeling stuck in ‘what if’ spirals.
Most importantly, I’m going to teach you how to talk back to your brain so that overthinking no longer runs the show. Because when you learn to quiet the mental noise, you create more peace, confidence, and joy—not just for yourself, but for your whole family. Let’s get into it!
