The Executive Cost of the Midlife Hijack with Delilah Bardlette26 Jan 202600:28:22

What happens when a "Fortune 150 beast" suddenly feels incapable of recalling a basic metric in the boardroom? In the debut episode of the Menopause Stories Podcast, Dr. Tamara Beckford sits down with leadership strategist and former aviation executive Delilah Bartlette.

Delilah opens up about leading high-visibility global initiatives while unknowingly navigating the physiological shifts of perimenopause. From an unexplainable frozen shoulder to the "brain fog" that threatened her professional brand, Delilah shares the reality of maintaining executive authority when your body stops following the playbook. This episode is a clinical audit of why high-achieving women must stop "powering through" and start architecting a strategy for their next 40 years.

What We Audit in This Episode:
  1. The Stealth Symptom: Why an achy shoulder was the "Aha moment" that led Delilah to investigate her hormones.
  2. The Boardroom Blank: Navigating the fear of losing "street cred" when brain fog hits during C-suite deliverables.
  3. The "Old Person" Myth: Dismantling the lie that menopause is a 60+ issue and recognizing the 10-year perimenopause transition.
  4. Medical Advocacy: Why your primary care doctor might tell you to "thug it out" and how to find specialized clinical support.
  5. The Power Track: Delilah reveals the surprisingly honest song that describes her journey through the "Midlife Hijack."

About Our Guest:

Delilah Bartlette is the founder of Delilah Bartlette Leadership Solutions. With nearly 30 years in the aviation industry, she rose to the top 1% of a Fortune 150 company, leading groundbreaking corporate initiatives. Today, she uses her unique perspective to develop courageous, confident leaders.

Dr. Houston: Physician Empowerment Through Decentralized Identity25 Sep 202300:53:20

What if physicians had a digital identity wallet to store and share credentials? I'm excited to chat with Dr. Houston about this today and the future of healthcare.

Dr. Leah Houston graduated from Albany Medical College for Medical School and chose to stay at Albany to complete her training in Emergency Medicine.

She is the Founder of HPEC, an organization dedicated to empowering physicians through decentralized identity. Her primary focus is automating credentialing, enabling physicians to work and move freely.

In a rapidly growing healthcare sector with over 20 million employees in the US, Dr. Houston recognizes the increasing turnover faced by healthcare systems due to dissatisfaction.

With HPEC, physicians have control over their digitized and automatically verified credentials, allowing them to onboard, open, and build their private practices without the friction of currently available legacy-driven credentialing systems.

As a product founder, she is a nationally requested speaker and author on self-sovereign identity in healthcare. She also recently completed training in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare through MIT, concluding in July 2023.

Dr. Hughes shares tips to overcome toxic relationships & using pain as your fuel.29 May 202300:51:35

Dr. Elizabeth Hughes is a dermatologist, inventor, writer, and coach with an outside-the-box approach to medicine and being a physician.

After graduating from medical school at the University of Virginia, she completed an internship at the University of Pennsylvania and a dermatology residency at Stanford, where she was also a chief resident.ย As impressive as all these sounds, for most of her life, including throughout medical training, Dr. Hughes hid a secret: she was married to a man with an antisocial personality disorder. This relationship nearly drove her to suicide.

Rather than feeling victimized, Dr. Hughes now views this relationship โ€” and, more importantly, leaving the relationship โ€” as the most formative experience in her life. By fully moving past that chapter of her life, she reclaimed energy and creativity, which she thought was lost. She embarked on an entrepreneurial path: founding a skincare company, joining a dermatology start-up, and authoring widely read KevinMD articles.
