Letting go before the year turns
dimanche 8 février 2026 ⢠Duration 15:00
As we come towards the final week or so of the Year of the Snake, Iāve been reflecting on what Iāve shed, released, transformed and let go of in the last year.
Labels, identities, patterns, layers of myself that no longer fit.
And alongside these reflections on shedding, Iāve also been thinking about capacity.
Long before I found out I was a Projector in Human Design, I had this feeling that there was something wrong with me for being unable to cope with life, particularly work, in the way others could. Working as a midwife I saw my colleagues doing overtime, double shifts, permanent night shift, and even going out after work (I feel my fellow Projectors will understand when I say this has always been unbelievable to me.)
And something you hear often in the wellness and personal development space is the sentiment of needing to expand your capacity. But for me, this didnāt feel expansive or supportive. It quietly fed the sense that I was under-resourced, falling short and lacking the ability to cope.
But as many Projectors do, I pushed myself to keep up. I tried to prove my worth through doing, I overworked and forced myself to keep going when every part of me wanted to stop. And of course this led me to fall into a period of physical, emotional and mental burnout, an unfortunately common life experience for Projectors.
When I learned I was a Projector and what this means, suddenly everything made sense. It reframed my entire relationship with capacity as not something I lacked, but something I had been overfilling and viewing from the wrong perspective. I could see that I wasnāt incapable of coping with life but had been pushing myself to live and work in a way that Iām not designed for.
I experimented with my design, understood my patterns of conditioning and made choices to live in alignment with my true nature.
But in the last few weeks Iāve felt the pressure, conditioning and old patterns creep in. Working more. Saying yes when I want to say no. Taking on too much. Overfilling my days. Too much doing. Not enough space.
And I wonāt lie, there is part of me that feels guilt for this. A sense that I should know better by now.
But what Iāve come to realise is that sometimes you need to go back to what you let go of, shed and said no to.
Not because the no was wrong but because returning confirms why it was necessary.
The first no protected you while you were still inside the experience.
But time and distance change the lens. And when you revisit something from this changed place, youāre not undoing a decision or failing, youāre meeting it again as a different version of yourself.
And my experience of falling back into old patterns, while humbling, has also been deeply validating. Itās confirmed my intuition wasnāt wrong. Itās confirmed my Projector nature. Itās confirmed the value of Human Design and why I love it so much.
It showed me that returning to what we once said no to isnāt failure but part of the shedding process itself.
It showed me that sometimes we donāt truly understand what weāve shed until we try to carry it again.
And it showed me that this isnāt actually a problem of me not having enough capacity. I donāt need more capacity.
We are all already holding plenty.
The last couple of weeks especially have shown me that I can hold a lot.
But it has also shown meā¦. I donāt want to.
And that feels scary, but important, to say.
And itās not that I donāt want a big, beautiful, full life, but itās more that I donāt want my life to be full of what drains me. I want spacious days, free time, slow mornings and expansiveness.
So what if the issue isnāt that we need to stretch ourselves further, widen our nervous systems, optimise our resilience and expand our capacity so that we can hold more?
What if the issue is that we are all holding far too much?
What if your capacity doesnāt need to change?
But whatās inside it does.
What if this is less about becoming someone who can hold more and more like becoming someone who holds only what is essential?
What if instead of expanding your capacity, you let go of what is no longer serving you?
But as I say this, I donāt want you to mistake this for an invitation to let go of what doesnāt matter so you can add more of what does.
No.
Let go of the noise. Let go of the clutter. Let go of what is weighing you down.
And keep the spaciousness youāve created free.
And I think youāll find that this is when your nervous system will finally soften and quietly thank you.
With that being said, I have created this meditation to support you in these final days of shedding, releasing and letting go before we cross the threshold into the Year of the Horse.
And if you feel called to, you might like to journal on these questions to deepen your reflections:
* What does your capacity feel like at the moment? Spacious, overfilled, cluttered, noisy, free, balanced?
* What have you shed and released this year?
* What are you still holding onto but feel ready to let go of?
* Where have you returned to something you once said no to? And what did that return teach you?
* How can you create more spaciousness in your life?
With love,
Alice x

MIRROR GARDEN: Guided Meditation
dimanche 30 novembre 2025 ⢠Duration 14:07
I usually share these guided meditations to paid subscribers only but I felt called to share this one freely and publicly. Because in the busyness of this time of year, I feel we could all do with a little more calm and presence. So I encourage you to set aside some time for yourself today, get comfy, listen and enjoy.
And if you feel drawn towards deepening your meditation practice and bringing a little more calm and connection into your life, you can become a paid subscriber below and receive weekly meditations created with love from me for you.
This meditation is inspired by The Secret Garden, one of my favourite childhood books and a story I recently revisited when I found myself watching the film. In the film, thereās a scene where the children run through the garden and it shifts and responds to them. When their inner world turns dark, the flowers droop and the leaves begin to die. When the energy is joyful and high, the flowers bloom and lift towards the sky.
And that scene stood out to me.
Because Iāve always felt that nature is one of my greatest mirrors and teachers. It meets us exactly where we are, without judgement and somehow offers up just what we most need.
Some days I go to the beach and the darkness of the sky reflects the state of my soul. And as I cry, the clouds cry with me.
Other days the sun shines bright and this reflects the hope and optimism rising within me.
Nature reminds us of our ever-changing-ness, our seasons, our cycles, our capacity to shed, bloom, rest, renew. It reflects back our inner landscape with a quiet kind of honesty.
And so todayās meditation is an invitation into that reflection.
As you explore your inner garden throughout this practice, notice the state of it. Notice what it looks like, feels like, represents. Perhaps it is flourishing and bright. Perhaps it is sparse and bare. Perhaps it is organised and manicured or wild and untamed. The way your garden appears is not an accident. Itās a message, a mirror, a whisper from your inner world.
Your garden may show you where you are craving rest. Or where you are craving freedom. Where you need more structure or more softness. Where you are blooming or what you need to let go of.
Let this meditation be an opportunity to meet yourself with curiosity, compassion and presence. To see what nature is showing you about yourself. And to receive whatever message your soul is sending.
After listening to this meditation you may like to journal on the following to deepen the connection:
* What did the garden in your visualisation look and feel like? Describe everything you noticed such as colours, textures, seasons, the general atmosphere etc.
* What did your garden reflect back to you? What message did you receive?
* How can you bring a little more of your gardenās wisdom into the way you move through the next few days?
* If your garden were to shift into its most balanced, nourishing state, what would it look like? And what would need to shift within you to mirror that?
This will be such a beautiful meditation to return to regularly and you may find that your garden shifts and changes as you shift and change. Or you may receive different reflections, themes or messages depending on what is present in your life.
As always, if there is anything on your mind, or heart, that youād like to share, Iām here and always happy to hear from you!
And if there is someone you know who will enjoy this meditation, you are welcome to share it with them.
With love,
Alice x

LOVE: Guided Meditation
vendredi 17 octobre 2025 ⢠Duration 12:56
This mediation was created from the realisation that so many teachings, philosophies and wisdoms from all different cultures, backgrounds and times, at their core, all come back to one simple truth: love.
But in todayās modern world there is a tendency to think that love is something we get, something we earn, something external, something outside of us that we are gifted by others when weāre good enough or worthy enough.
But what if it isnāt that simple? What if the love you feel from someone else isnāt only theirs? What if itās a reflection of the love already within you?
And so this meditation practice is designed to cultivate this inner feeling of love recognising that this love within you is representative of both the love you offer to others and the love you receive from others.
Because love is emotion. Emotion is energy in motion. And so love is always in motion. Always moving. Flowing. Circulating. Being shared, offered, given and received.
When you nurture love within yourself, it naturally ripples outwards and then returns back to you.
But it starts within. It starts with you.
And this is not about finding love but more about remembering it. About reconnecting to the truth that you are love.
So this is your time to settle, breathe, receive and come back to this truth.
And remember, if you enjoy what you hear, Iād love for you to share your experience.
And if you feel called, you can become a paid subscriber where I share guided meditations and articles designed to help you live and create an aligned life.
With love,
Alice x
