| Philosophy for The Modern World w/ Dragan Wilms ∞ MAX DEPTH PODCAST | 13 Jan 2026 | 01:26:27 | |
While I try to find what is practical and useful in philosophy, Dragan seems intent on destroying my entire conception of myself, how I perceive reality, and the systems we all operate in. In today's episode you will hear lines such as, "You are made a slave by language" & "We are castrating ourselves with each new instagram story post." Typical Philosophers!
I am happy to have had this conversation with someone just as far down the rabbit hole as I am. Cheers to making it out the other side.

This is what a conversation can sound like. People with different perspectives fiercely trying to get their point across while simultaneously listening to what the other person is saying. This is chaotic, but I think a few halfway decent points were made. I hope you enjoy

| DEEP LEARNING, CYBER ATTACKS, & BUILDING CONSCIOUSNESS ∞ MAX DEPTH | 15 Feb 2022 | 00:52:12 | |
Cyber attacks have advanced rapidly along with the rest of technology. From flooding the SSA website with bots and crashing the system to the Solar Winds attack on the US Government by Russia, Cyber Attacks are now a huge problem for everyone. Clifton is a PHD student at Northeastern studying network security, recently studying the feasibility of implementing deep learning solutions to prevent attacks. The conversation can roughly divided into a first and second half. First, we discussed Clifton's work and the specifics of different cyber attacks. Second, we discussed the problems and possibilities of exploding technological innovation. Will we be able to build consciousness? Clifton doesn't want to find out. I kinda do.

to MAX DEPTH
joining us today we have Dr. Michael Frank. director of the Carney Center for Computational Brain Science at brown university and current professor teaching computational cognitive neuroscience
Prof. Frank
thank you for joining us today
for reference, this podcast is my personal journey of investigation and inquiry into reality and consciousness—made public. the research I conduct is focused more on the subjective dissection of self consciousness, leaning more towards ontology, while trying to adhere to the scientific method. my goal is to extract meaningful and actionable solutions out of philosophical investigation
from what i have seen, we are both attempting to understand the foundations of ourselves, what makes us tick, what motivates us, and i am particularly fascinated in your work because it is so much more empirical and objective than mine and you have been at it for so much longer. this parallel investigation of ours seems collide in terms of our overall end goal, to extract practical applications from our research. mine to lead a more meaningful life, and yours, if i may speak for you, to build better artificial intelligence systems and solve problems relating to neurological disorders such as schizophrenia, degenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s, and understanding the complexity of decision making.

Welcome to Max Depth!! In this episode, I spoke with Tatum Parr Carreiro, a sensible and humble tech wizard and friend, who cares deeply about bettering the lives of other people. We discussed the role mentors play in shaping who we become, the ways in which technology, specifically increasingly better deep neural networks and artificial intelligence algorithms, will change the world, as well as fitness, social media, and religion. This conversation left me inspired to be a better version of myself, and I hope it does the same for you. | |||

| The Most Interesting Man In The World — Fridtjof Nansen | 08 Nov 2025 | 00:19:37 | |
Who do you admire? I have always immersed myself in the ideas of those I have admired, through podcasts, audiobooks, & conversations. There is no way better way to do this, than to think, write, and finally produce a piece of content about the person. Fridtjof Nansen is truly worthy of study, for so many reasons.
This channel is dedicated to philosophers, practical advice / wisdom, big ideas in history and current events. If you check out the channel name "MAX DEPTH" then you will begin to get a feel for what we do around here; We go DEEP into ideas, jumping down rabbit holes that most people step around. If this sounds like your type of place, we'd love to have you along for the ride.

"Hello! I'm a student at Harvard pursuing a special degree across five fields - robotics, computer science, philosophy, mathematics, and organismic/evolutionary biology. These come together under my project by attempting to apply ways of thinking about nature to the way we think about robots." - Henry Cerbone
Henry is a deep thinker so it was a pleasure speaking with him about:
religion as an epistemic teddy bear,
the epic paper titled: Posits and Reality (https://cdn.preterhuman.net/texts/science_and_technology/Quine%20W.V.%20-%20Posits%20and%20Reality.pdf)
and if engineers and computer scientists are properly using nature to inform robotics.
Hope you enjoy. I work really hard on these so please consider subscribing. Thanks.
