When my husband was addicted I became such a good detective that I bet the Scooby Doo gang would've hired me in an instant. I worked hard to figure out all his drinking habits. I thought I was 'good' at it, and walked around with a smug sense of pride and superiority because of it. It hurts my heart to say that now. Because looking back it only made things worse.
