| MARMCAST Episode 3: Dave | 07 Jun 2025 | 01:15:12 | |
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's Episode 3!! Having gone live this week Tim and Andy are delighted to discover they are the Number 1 UK Running Podcast in the charts. Or they might not be. Either way, the wheels have fallen off already. Tim has forgotten to book a guest, Andy has learnt the wrong melodies and due to a technical issue, the email address for the podcast is doomed. Andy and Tim still take a bit of time to look forward to their races this weekend, make some prank calls and listen to the music of the fabulous Glen Clark. email us at: marmcast@hotmail.com
| MARMCAST Episode 4: Ian | 14 Jun 2025 | 01:20:05 | |
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's episode 4!! The Running Podcast that was once the Number 1 Running Podcast in the UK is sinking fast. Now in 4th place, Tim and Andy are left in limbo. Are they thankful for what was, or grateful for what will be? Who knows? This week Tim has booked a guest, and what a guest he is! Podiatrist "Dr Ian" limps through Goldy on the Guitar and provides reassurance about shoe addiction. Meanwhile Tim and Andy go through the week that was: The Midnight Marathon and The Two Castles Run. All delivered over a pint of Lucky Saint, as Tim navigates Andy through the world of Alcohol Free beer. If you enjoyed this episode please like, share and leave a review. Spread the word! | MARMCAST Episode 5: Ted | 21 Jun 2025 | 01:18:24
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's episode 5!! With MARMCAST showing no signs of wilting in the white heat of the podcast charts, Tim and Andy get together to discuss Home Working, Paddling Pools and Rotten Salads, really tying together the delirium of Summer. The boys are joined this week by Ted, otherwise known as Youtuber "Ted Offroad", who has thankfully put an end to any unwitting online ghosting and enters nervously into a round of "Goldy on the Guitar". Tim and Andy go through the week that was, which includes Andy eulogising about a lake "he grew up in" and Tim's capitulation in Leamington. This week the zero alcohol beer of choice has fallen out of uniformity. Will Andy's Aldi own brand triumph over Tim's Ghost Ship?? All of these questions will be resolved in this weeks' customary 1 hour and 16 mins. If you enjoyed this episode please like and share! Carina leaves a house party to play âGoldy on the Guitarâ and the Race Ladder includes the scoreboard for Timâs first Fun Run. Andy looks back with nostalgia at The Black Country Half Marathon, ahead of his second attempt next week, whilst the Zero Alcohol Beer Tasting Tests show no signs of abating. Laura from Telford plays "Goldy on the Guitar" and special guest Andrew discusses the Transplant Games. Andy negotiates his way around a bursting MARMCAST satchel as adeptly as he would the Redditch ringroad - or stalking famous sportsman in HMV. | MARMCAST Episode 10: Andy and Laura | 25 Jul 2025 | 01:24:55

| MARMCAST Episode 11: Jonny!! | 02 Aug 2025 | 01:21:54 | |
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's Episode 11!! It's absolute chaos at MARMCAST HQ this week. Tim has been left in charge of guest booking again. His star booking pulls out mid recording, and his Goldy on the Guitar competitor won't accept his call. Which leaves MARMCAST.... in big trouble. Not what you'd expect from a podcast that has recently gained a vote for the Listeners Choice Award at the @BritishPodcastAwards. Other discussion points this week? Andy's previous exploits being splashed all over dubious websites, a new PB, some Future Bookings and a Deep Dive into parkrun. And when we say "deep" we actually mean very shallow. Vote for us!! | MARMCAST Episode 12: Jamie | 16 Aug 2025 | 01:25:14
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's Episode 12!! Fresh from a triumphant holiday in Wales for Andy, and a less triumphant break in Cornwall for MARM, the boys discuss their varying fortunes as parkrun tourists. Our special guest Jamie displays his knowledge of tunes, but not necessarily any knowledge of either popular culture nor the film or TV series with which the tune is actually linked to, which sadly is the very concept of "Goldy on the Guitar". Andy and MARM also review their first "Outside Broadcast" of MARMCAST at the Stratford Summer Six, which was hosted at the home of Mary Arden, a lovely lady, with a well tended farm. | MARMCAST Episode 13: Kate | 25 Aug 2025 | 01:19:59
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's Episode 13!! MARMCAST has rocketed back up the podcast charts and MARM and Andy are left to dream of an evening in the O2 at the British Podcast Awards. How will they behave and what will they say when they win? More realistically, will Kate win "Goldy on the Guitar" and will the boys have the tact and diplomacy to ask the age of their veteran running guest? Will Kate recognise all of Andy's themes, or will it simply come down to the fact that she was significantly cooler than he was 40 years ago? Andy and MARM also would love to hear from all listeners of MARMCAST. What would be your "Ideal Race". Distance? Location? Surface? Swag Bag? Number of Runners?? It's up to you. | MARMCAST Episode 14: Freddy | 05 Sep 2025 | 01:24:49
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's Episode 14!! There has been another forced hiatus for MARMCAST last week, with Andy ill and MARM injured... Which means that a guest appearance at Telford Parkrun is going to have to be rainchecked. This means apologies are in order and a phonecall to Telford Harrier, Laura, is in order. After a failed attempt to get her to play "Goldy on the Guitar" (she played 4 weeks ago) a phone call to Freddy is in order. Freddy's Youtube channel "Freddy Runs" is already hugely popular and a 15 min chat to Freddy himself proves why, fresh from his GNR5K success. A full mailbag, a chat about the Timberhonger 10K, MARM's injury update and some music from Darren Anderson. It's good to be back! | MARMCAST Episode 15: Andre | 12 Sep 2025 | 01:24:52
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's Episode 15!! Andy is still ill!! And h'es taken the painful decision to avoid being centre of attention at Worcester this weekend. MARM is taking part in his first relay event, and has some explaining to do after his phantom injury didn't ruin his Kenilworth Half Marathon. Joining the pod this week is runner Andre Runz, who talks about his running journey, passing MARM on a canal and winning a place in the New York City Marathon!! The boys face up to the fact that The Listeners Choice award at the O2 has slipped through their fingers and with it the chance to meet Raworth. There's always next year. Remember to get in touch at marmcastpod@gmail.com - we'd love to hear from you! This weeks' music comes from The Indigo Sunsets "Shooting the Breeze"
| MARMCAST Episode 16: The FOD Runner & Mike | 19 Sep 2025 | 01:20:26 | |
Welcome to MARMCAST!! It's Episode 16!! And Andy is... still ill. It's quite a saga, but he's fresh from the excitement of supporting wife Claire at the Worcester City Run and that will have to do in the absence of any runs himself. This week we chat the Andy Raynor, Youtube's FOD Runner, a legend of a runner who is creeping towards 10,000,000 views since beginning his channel on a whim. A hugely talented runner and reviewer, it's great to have Andy to chat whilst he unloads his dishwasher. And we also welcome Mike Duffy from the Chasing the Finish Podcast to play Goldy on the Guitar, exposing Andy as being stuck in the 80's. MARM discusses his recent relay antics and the usual music contributions, this time coming from the heavy metaller Gary Hubbs with "Fandango". Remember to get in touch at marmcastpod@gmail.com!!
| MARMCAST Episode 17: Aubrey & Simon | 03 Oct 2025 | 01:51:03 | |
Welcome to MARMCAST: Epsiode 17!! The boys are back!! And we are organised!! All of the ideas we had when we started the pod, but were replaced with chaos, have been brought back into focus. Sort of. Andy is better, we have a special guest who is absolutely Bigger Than Running (it's AUBREY!!!) and we get Simon from the Centurion Running Club to play a ridiculously easy game of Goldy on Guitar. Andy reviews the Big Bear Petsall 10K, Andy thoroughly empties his mail sack and we discuss our exciting upcoming races. AND to top it all, we are played out by the Indigo Sunsets, with "Never Leave Me". Contact us marmcastpod@gmail.com Insta: @MARMCAST
| MARMCAST Episode 18: Ian, Emma & Tommy | 11 Oct 2025 | 01:36:52 | |
Welcome to MARMCAST Episode 18!! Can Andy really be ill? AGAIN? Just a sort throat this time, but nothing's gonna stop him. Tonight the boys interview Ian and Emma Davis from Cotswold Trail Events, the team behind the revered Broadway Marathon and the Cotswold Century Way 1oo mile race. Ian and Emma talk logistics and the highs and lows of being Race Directors. www.cotswoldtrailevents.co.uk Parkrun Parables and Andy's sack take a pounding, whilst Tommy from Glasgow take on Goldy on Guitar. (MARM doing his best to avoid going full Billy Connolly.) A full review of the Cardiff Half Marathon might leave shockwaves on the 2025 Race Ladder, but with several races still to cover it's all to play for in 2025. Music this week comes from Pete Johns, "Work in Progress". Contact us marmcastpod@gmail.com Insta: @MARMCAST
| MARMCAST Episode 19: Rachel | 17 Oct 2025 | 01:43:57 | |
Welcome to MARMCAST Episode 19!! How is Andy this week? It's a long running saga and MARM suspects he's still milking it. But tonight the boys travel further into Austen territory and now believe Goldy to be a returning cad who has faked his own death. Parkrun Parables throws up a tale of Andy based overtaking. The boys guest this evening is Youtuber and oft times Ultra Runner Rachel D, who takes us through her inspiring running journey, before hanging up mid interview. The boys review their races at Holdenby and Oxford respectively. Will the Race Ladder yield a new leader? Music this week is provided by the Indigo Sunsets with an unlisted track, "Always Find A Way". Contact us at: marmcastpod@gmail.com Insta: @MARMCAST
