Self-Sufficient Living on Mallorca: What It's Really Like

What social media shows as off-grid living and self-sufficient living, has very rarely anything to do with reality.
I've been exploring this topic for 10 years, and what it's like to be 100% self-sufficient, without social media, without the pressure to "sell" something and always look "perfect". I've travelled around the world, lived with locals and expats, and learned a lot from them. Whether in the rainforest of a Caribbean island, in the most remote corners of Mallorca, or on mainland Europe, every region offers different opportunities and challenges, especially when you're also working full-time (online) at the same time.
Today is all about living and working self-sufficiently in Mallorca. A lot of it can be applied to other regions and doesn't apply exclusively to Mallorca. I hope to give you a rough insight into the reality of A) self-sufficient living and B) life in Mallorca.
Depending on when you listen to this episode, a lot may have changed again. So if you're playing with the idea of moving to Mallorca, try it out first before you fully commit. Life here is, just like anywhere else, simply life. Some problems disappear, others appear that you never had on your radar. It can be the dream or the nightmare, and a lot of it depends on you and your attitude toward the whole situation.

Was social media als "off-grid" living (also autark leben) darstellt, hat nur sehr selten etwas mit der Realität zu tun. Ich beschäftige mich seit 10 Jahren mit diesem Thema und wie es ist sich zu 100% selbst zu versorgen.
Ohne social media, ohne Druck von außen etwas "verkaufen" zu müssen und dabei immer "perfekt" auszusehen. Ich bin um die ganze Welt gereist und habe mit Einheimischen und Auswanderern gelebt und viel von ihnen gelernt. Ob im Regenwald einer Karibikinsel, in den entlegensten Ecken Mallorcas oder auf dem europäischen Festland, jede Region bietet andere Chancen und Herausforderungen, vor allem wenn du auch noch parallel vollzeit (online) arbeitest.
Heute geht es ganz speziell um autark leben und arbeiten auf Mallorca. Vieles kann auf andere Regionen angewandt werden und trifft nicht ausschließlich auf Mallorca zu. Ich hoffe dir so einen ganz groben Einblick in die Realität von A) autark leben und B) dem Leben auf Mallorca vermitteln zu können.
Je nachdem wann du diese Episode hörst, hat sich vieles schon wieder verändert, falls du also mit dem Gedanken spielst auch nach Mallorca auszuwandern, probiere es vorher aus bevor du dich voll commitest.
Das Leben hier ist genau wie überall auch nur das Leben. Manche Probleme lösen sich auf, andere entstehen, die du vorher nicht auf dem Schirm hattest. Es kann der absolute Traum oder der absolute Albtraum sein und vieles davon steht und fällt mit dir und deiner Einstellung zu der Gesamtsituation.

Ich habe ein profitables, schuldenfreies Business aus 5.000€ und ohne Team aufgebaut. Und trotzdem 480.000€ über vier Jahre auf dem Tisch gelassen. Nicht weil das Business gescheitert ist. Sondern weil meine Preise nie das widergespiegelt haben, was die Arbeit wirklich wert war.
